Chapter 23: Must defeat the Dark Sage

Date: January 13th, 2023

What is life? What is the point of living when the people in power hurt and use us all? A fun life is ultimately nearly meaningless in the face of the climate crisis, pain, Covid-19, capitalism, fascism, and more? Why must we be forced to choose between hating those who are different than us or greater suffering for ourselves? What's the point of war? What's the point of sticking with a family who ignores the risks and cruelty of this accursed society where the cycle of hatred continues on as always? Why should I trust my own kin to do what they can to keep others safe and change this world? They say that the poor are lazy. Ridiculous. It all leads back to pain, hatred, and greed. These 3 things are what allow fascism to grow on Earth, in Miitopia, and beyond. Don't tell me that life is good. Life is not good. It is mediocre, miserable, or pleasurable to the point of hiding pain. I can't trust my own family as I once had anymore. Now, let me introduce to you an adventure of pain, suffering, friendship, comradery, kindness, hatred, and more. Continuing on from Chapter 6 of Miitopian Civil War.

In less than a minute, myself, Shun, and Go summon our 6 best monster comrades each. It turns out that the artist aren't busy with their own issues anymore. Smoky Quartz is a fusion who has black hair that goes over their left eye at times, a kind of dark purple skin, black eyes, a shorter stature, 2 gems with one in the belly button and the other near the collarbone, lilac boots, a black shirt with a yellow design that covers their chest area, grayish blue ripped shorts with black stars, and some kind of pink and white shirt or something tied around their waist. They say to me: "Wow, you really an artist. Some of these artists you summoned look terrifying. It's very cool. What else can you do with them?" "I'd tell you right now but we have to focus. The Konoha ninja know we're here and that the Dark Sage is poised to interfere in the battle between Naruto and Pain down there. We cannot allow that kind of interference for this battle is critical for the future of this world. And we cannot be caught up in their fight either. Regnes is the only one who could survive. The rest of us would be as good as dead if we interfered. Pain is a frightening enemy to have so we must tred lightly. Shun, can you get the Dark Sage's attention with Rise Falcon? I will follow up by having Regnes deal lots of effect damage by using all of his overlay units." "You can count on me. Rise Falcon, attack that Dark Sage with Ravaging Rebellion!" The Xyz monster calls out a slightly haunting call and bursts into flame before dive bombing at the Dark Sage who suddenly vanishes before the attack can land. "Damn it! The enemy disappeared or went invisible! Gouki Jet Ogre, Master Ogre, and the others, we must find and mash up our foe!" "Regnes, Terror Fairy, Jammer, and the others, it's clear that he's still going for those two. Seek and destroy, please make him experience pain and terror!"

And with that, our monster comrades spread out to find the Dark Sage. But we only find him because 3 giant toads are sent hurtling in different directions. As Chief Toad is sent flying, the shift in the air molecules destroys the Dark Sage's invisibility. Our foe yells: "You freaks! You're getting in the way of my rise to power! I won't lose again today! I won't, not to inferior creatures like all of you, especially those ogres! How many allies do you have, groomer Adam? None of those with you are from Miitopia!" Suddenly, we find ourselves being attacked from below. "Damn it, they think we're enemies too. Shut it, Dark Sage. We're going to settle our differences in a location that won't require us going far. *pulls out a sphere cube* I activate a sphere field around all of us! I won't allow our conflict to get in the way of such a decisive battle! The ninja might eventually break it but what choice do we have in containing you long enough for Pain and a pissed off Naruto to get on the move?" Without warning, the sphere field is tossed out of my hand by myself before it begins to expand around us, being large enough to already be situated on the barren and flattened ground below. "How dare you trap me here with you freaks? This is a disgrace to me! I am superior to you and I will make Project Empire a reality!" "Calm down, man. You could have just stayed in your world. But since you're here, I can't wait to take you down. It's going to be awesome. *equips their yo-yo*" "Raid Raptors Ultimate Falcon, Rise Falcon, Blaze Falcon, and my other falcons, crush the Dark Sage!" "My Artist comrades, prepare to frighten him!" "Mash him up, Goukis! Crush him with your strength!" "Your monsters will do nothing against me!" All monsters except Regnes are destroyed in seconds. But we aren't done. Far from it.

Go and Shun reveal they in fact can fight while Regnes says to me: "Adam, I will not be ideal for this battle. There are numbers in this world. Allow me to return when you have to confront them." "Okay, I understand. Thank you. I will summon you back when the time is right. *deactivates duel disk* So then, it's just us 8 against you? I'm not sure if we'll stand much of a chance but it doesn't hurt to try." "Amusing! If a whole army of rebellious freaks can't beat me, then what chance do you even have?" "Chaaaaaa!" Sakura, a medical ninja with green eyes, pink hair, a red headband with Konoha's spiral symbol on it, light skin, and a pink, red, and white outfit punches him in the gut and sends him flying to an end of the sphere field, causing him to get shocked by electricity. She turns to us: "Who are you? What's going on? Are you and that man battling each other?" I sigh: "It's a really long story. You punched him good so I can tell you the basics. We're here from other universes to stop that man because well.. How do I put this? He has the power to absorb living organisms and grow stronger as a result. I saw it happen earlier in the world I live in. Just trying to defeat a clone of his was hard enough." "But none of you have any chakra, how are you even fighting? One of you looks like a ninja and yet you have no chakra. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt even though you are intruders in Konoha. A member of the Hyuga clan was with me, telling me about the battle between Naruto and Pain. And then, we saw you and he couldn't find any chakra when he used the Byakugan." Lloyd replies: "I've only heard of chakra from stories I've heard of other worlds out there. My power doesn't come from that. It comes from the bonds with my friends and the elemental power inside of me."

I add: "To put it simply, we aren't from this world or any world where life forms have the type of energy that sustains all life on this planet, chakra. Oh great, the Dark Sage, our enemy is getting back up. You must have leaped into this general area before the sphere field finished expanding, Sakura. Yes, I know who you are. In fact, we all do. When this is all over, it'd be nice to keep having you alongside many others as allies because there is a huge war coming and the fight might be brought here. Don't worry about missing out on what's happening with Naruto. You'll be told later. Just know that he will be okay in the end. As long as this world's future isn't drastically tampered with, he will bring about so much good. We better get ready to fight but don't expect me to pay much attention to anything you and the others are doing. I need to focus to pull off the best attacks with my sword that I can muster. I'm no ninja. Let's make that clear. I'm a knight." "This is a lot to take in. Be sure to tell us more later." "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. *Smoky Quartz restrains the Dark Sage with their yo-yo and Shun and Go prevent our foe from using any magic* There is a word to unlock the sealed away memories of this village from that one day. Those memories will help you understand what's going on better. It's time to confront that this world's future has been altered to some degree. There's a reason why you can't remember much from a certain day. You'll know it soon. The word is this: entropy!" Her eyes widen: "I remember. Lady Hokage told me everything. I'll trust you all for now but if you turn against me, I will stop all of you!" "And you have more than enough brute force to do so. Your strength is terrifying, I could never beat you in combat if we were just punching each other. But in this battle, my sword will do most of the talking for me. Haaaaa! The Dark Sage is approaching! He has broken free and knocked the others back. You don't have to constantly punch him just yet, Sakura. Let me start it off. After all, my sword and I are one. With that kind of synchronization comes deadly power."

Susan and Mary Test suddenly transform into black haired and blue outfit wearing versions of themselves: "We're back! This time, we're here to destroy Dark Sage instead of Johnny X!" "What are they doing?" "Don't mind them. They can do all sorts of things with science. Let's just fight already. I've been itching to for some time now. Haaaaaaaa! Continuous Extreme Risky Spin Slash: 125!" My attack pins the Dark Sage to one area for a few seconds. That's long enough for Smoky to whack him in the head several times and for Lloyd to prepare Spinjitzu. Once the tornadoes are destroyed by our foe, Sakura charges in and punches him in the gut again while I keep him busy dodging me with Drawing Destruction. I'm not surprised Sakura already punched him again. She has more than enough chakra to do that for a while. "You mortal freaks! I'm going to exterminate all of you for getting in my way! *tries to break the sphere field* Why can't I get out of this thing!" "Watch out with when you're talking or else, you might just get yourself cut in the throat and start coughing up your own blood and gagging. It's too bad your original body lost its immortality by the time Pirate Blaster killed your other half. Clearly, your body isn't immortal at all. That had to have hurt a lot! Here's why you can't get out of this thing. It has been tested and refined so many times. I've personally tried to destroy this field as part of a test and didn't even lay a scratch on it. It is immune to magic, physical attacks, gamma rays, radiation, lasers, and more. We can't even get out of here until this field is remotely disabled." I look out of curiosity with my skill Artist's Eye to see what's going on out there better. Naruto and Pain are talking while a metal rod is stabbed into Naruto's left hand. Damn it. If the Dark Sage by some miracle escapes, he'll get so much chakra if he does so soon. I feel myself vanish after fizzling out from an attack by the villain. Wow, having 2 bodies here is weird.

Just standing around and waiting was boring. "What did you do, freak? How are you intact? I watched you vanish just now!" "I have no chakra but I have something else. Can't you see it in my left eye? I made an imagination clone. Unlike a shadow clone, they can't even attack, they're like a hologram. I made it while you were complaining and you had no idea. Damn it. My eye. That was the first time I've made one! I've exhausted my eye for now. This hurts." I had taken off my cloak and mask right as I got to this world but now, I put it back on quickly as he charges right at me, hoping to kill me up close and personal. This is when the real fight begins. Smoky forces the Dark Sage to be much more agile with his movement to avoid being caught up or sliced by the yo-yo. Sakura punches him again. I unleash a flurry of constant swings that force him to dodge even more. He isn't underestimating us. Good for the fascist. Too bad it won't be enough. The power level of a team is much greater than the sum of its parts. We all just keep attacking and the Dark Sage is forced to use magic to boost his stamina, strength, and agility just to avoid getting hit. However, Go puts on some iron gloves and starts punching to show why he had used both Gouki and Dinowrestler monsters in duels in Link VRAINS. But I cannot keep my eye on what the others are doing for much longer, especially now that my left eye hurts so much again from using my power. Before I tell you the rest of the battle, let me explain something about how the power even grew inside of me. It began the first time I was sent to the town of Fun Land. Over time as I kept traveling place, leftover energy from that ended up in my body and combined with some of the energy inside of my brain. The energy that would have been used up and sent out but wasn't. It also merged with my very consciousness/soul as they are made of energy too. In short, my power is a symptom of interdimensional travel. The other energy I once had such as fire magic helped shape my power early on. That in conjunction with my writing ability and connection to imagination solidified it. I partly earned the power.

As for the battle, it went on for a while. "You pestering freaks, I won't let you live any longer than I have to let you live because I can't kill any of you yet!" "That's what you get for being so confident, porkchop." "What he said. And you should have more patience. Besides, you still have all of us to deal with. And we have the power of science on our side!" "You freaks are just so frustrating! You're in the way of everything I have had planned for so long! I'll find and kill Guardian, making me the only being watching over Mii World! With him gone, I will be the only being to oversee it all! I will rule it and beyond! Tomapie will fall to me easily!" "How dare you hurt so many innocent lives, Dark Sage! I will never forgive the likes of you!" "Who said I wanted that from a useless cleric like you?" "IM NOT USELESS, WE WILL CRUSH YOU AND GIVE YOU NO MERCY!" I start ignoring all conversation around me in order to better focus, coordinate, and execute my attacks. My eye slowly recovers for about 10 minutes. My mental preparations allow me to increase my speed with the duel board a lot as obviously, Smoky had jumped from it already. I swing as much as I can without overdoing it that much. My attacks aren't landing even once. Damn, this is hard. He really is good at avoiding my attacks. That means I have to be on the hunt for him. I will not let him get out of my range. Thanks to my arm and sword, I have a range of about 4 to 5 feet up close. But it depends on how much I bend my elbow. I see light magic being used to burn through him as punches narrowly miss him as I continue attempting to swing. Clever one, isn't he? I'm surprised he hasn't just cloned himself and forced us to go a round one on one with them. And then, he clones himself while chuckling: "So you want to play clones again? If it weren't for Sakura, we would have all been badly hurt and beaten by now. Her punches aren't something that only barely affect you. They want you a lot. Isn't that right?" The clone I'm facing replies: "You are correct. Very impressive for a freak like you. I tire of having to take on all of you at once! You are all too fast for me to hurt any of you right now! And this field of yours has limited my magic!" "Oh good, I was wondering if it would restrict your magic or not. Next time, don't let me get the sphere cube out and then you'd actually have a chance of crushing all of us."

"You!! I will get you for this trap you pulled on me! All freaks must be eliminated, starting with you and your wokeness!" "For a being that has existed for so long, you sure have adjusted well to far right dogma. It's rather unusual but I won't dwell on that fact because no matter what happens, you must be stopped at all costs. I won't let you absorb others. But I wonder, why not absorb us?" "You foolish freak! You just reminded me that I can do that! Now, there's no way you'll survive! You'll just become part of me!" Dominic appears out of nowhere with the head of a Nazi general floating in between his hands: "We'll see about that! Reverse Quantum Entanglement!" As the Dark Sage and his clones try to absorb us all, Dominic's move prevents that and leaves behind some kind of mark: "There, I have sealed away that ability of yours. Now, I must get going. The battle is still raging on in Galados." He teleports away. "That scientist freak friend of yours will die for that! I will personally see to it that he just killed by nerve gas right in front of me! And I just can't wait to see him die because I ordered him to be killed!" "You still have us to deal with, remember? Great Infernal Tornado Slash!" My attack sends the clone back, dealing some damage. I grit my teeth: "Damn it. That still was far from enough. You are so powerful even without anyone absorbed into you. It's illogical to go on about wanting more power by doing that when you already have so much going for you. But that's not my call to make, is it? In any case, this fight is far from over." Words are no longer exchanged after that, only attacks. I attack with my sword many times over after eating an HP banana while he tries to blast me away with magic but is unable to because of the resistance put up by my armor and my shield which is still just on my back where it normally goes. This clone is weak compared to the original. The original must have something big planned because I can easily swing while thinking right now. If this is how a clone of his is now, it's no wonder he retreated to this world after all. Can't exactly blame him necessarily for that, can I? Now isn't that just ironic or whatever the correct term is at the moment?

I'm too fast for him. We are colliding face to face, hand to sword, you get it. I ignore everything thrown at me because my armor just takes on the damage with ease because again, the clone isn't that strong compared to the original. I better finish this quickly. I fear that the original is powering up a huge attack to destroy and kill us all in the blink of an eye. That's what a lot of villains do in my experience. I keep my eyes trained on the clone while swinging with precision, control, speed, and force in mind at a curved path every swing. I can't slash in a straight motion, that's far too weak. Swinging that way doesn't even feel right, it's not very effective when fighting because that's not how swords are designed to be swung. This I've known for a long time but couldn't put into words until I started sword practicing in my other body, MY original form. I don't even let out any noises with my vocal cords as I swing until I put even more effort into swinging with speed and force increased and intensified. Not even my armor is enough to really slow me down anymore. That alone is allowing me to finally start hitting the clone with so many attacks. But then, he holds out his hands and starts blocking and reducing the shock of every swing: "Damn it! How are you even doing this?" "Unlike last time, I have decided to personalize my clones. Against enemies with high defense, you are least effective! I've known this ever since you became a problem in my way, a mere inferior creature to be squished by me someday! It's over! You can't hope to win against me!" *swing* *swing* *swing *swing* *block* *block* *block* *kick* He staggers a bit as I kick his no-no zone and has to soothe them to feel better. For an enemy like him, I don't take pity so that allows me to nearly slice both of his hands off as he tries to soothe his hurting you know whats. I don't even give him a chance to speak as I punch him in the jaw with my left hand and keep swinging with my right. Bones crack loudly and bruises form in multiple areas right away. For good measure, I throw in an Anatomical Disruption attack to destabilize his legs so his balance is off.

Now that he's stumbling, I quickly pull out and hide a dagger in my left hand. That dagger is coated in that same substance that I used to destroy many Novelww creatures during the attack on Beach City at the start of this year. I doubt he knows about my daggers which is excellent news if that is in fact true. "You inferior brat! You're just a young foolish kid who can never hope to defeat me!" "Don't underestimate me, you were so good at doing that earlier. You must be getting cocky as most adults in my world seem to. Oh and FYI, I'm now old enough to say that I no longer have an undefined status in society because of my age. A lot of adults are too stuck up to realize they really are kind of stuck up. They think they know better than people younger than them when that's not the case with every single thing! Haaaa! I will kill you, Dark Sage clone! Pain must be inflicted on you because you're the clone of him, someone who has hurt and had many killed. For that, only a willingness to change would save him. Since he doesn't want to change, he is doomed to be killed sometime this year. Anytime soon would especially be nice. You need to go because you're part of his genocide plan by being a clone of his, actively seeking my death and so on. I won't let you kill me or even get close to killing me. This is where you begin to be ended." I unleash a blinding series of slashes that are all somehow tanked or blocked by my enemy who is clearly mean to just drain my strength and stamina by having such a strong defense. I go in a extra powerful swing and it too, is blocked. However, my foe widens his eyes as I reveal the dagger in my left hand and stab him wherever I can with it. I then forced him on his knees by using Anatomical Disruption twice more before mercilessly stabbing him with the dagger. In seconds, all that's left of him is acidly consumed matter. But before I can even comprehend my very small victory, I feel some kind of energy forcibly rip through me as my armor loudly cracks in a few places and shock runs through much of my body, partly due to the nervous system. Red is coming out of me. Damn it, he really had something that powerful prepared to be unleashed?

The others are in bad shape too. Madeline and I eat HP bananas to heal ourselves. Madeline then engages the Dark Sage with more anger than ever before. She even like that time before starts fighting hand to hand instead of using magic from a distance. She is both awesome and frightening. That's just how it is with her at this point. I love to see it. Sakura goes around to heal the others after Madeline quickly heals her. It takes a couple minutes. By that point, I had joined Madeline in fighting head on with the Dark Sage. He dodges her only to get punched by me. He dodges me only to get magically punched by her. That's when he glares furiously at all of us: "I'm not holding back anymore! All you freaks can just finally die once and for all! This will be the end of you! I will win and there will be nothing left in my way! The surviving Konoha ninja don't stand a chance against me! This is it! The end! Now be exterminated just as you have always deserved to be for being deviant caring freaks who refuse to use others like puppets!" Suddenly, he begins to move much faster than before, easily avoiding anything we throw at him by combining speed and teleportation to stay on the move and out of range: "Damn it! We should have had some far ranged fighting specialists join us! Lloyd, you better change tactics just as I am!" "Right!" Go, Sakura, and Shun stay as the only people to fight close ranged. Lloyd starts letting out green orbs of energy to fire at the Dark Sage. I use a Extremely Risky Spin Slash before quickly pulling out my bow and firing an attack through the attack. It hits the target and deals a critical hit. It is at this moment that I remember Chaos and Herbsalvin. Crap, I forgot all about the pegasus. Should have brought them. Oh well. I swap my bow out for Chaos: "Oh Adam! This is a surprise! I thought you wouldn't use me!" "While Madeline is still on her rampage of magic, I have something we need to do together. We need to fire marbles all over at the walls of this sphere field. We haven't spent much time firing while in motion but that doesn't matter. We need the marbles to go flying and make it impossible for the Dark Sage to dodge everything anymore." "Got it! Let's begin the mayhem! This will be so much fun!"

"Aye. Emblem Charge!" Chaos and I work together to unleash so many marbles. Hundreds. It's clear that only the Dark Sage is truly struggling to avoid all of the marbles. Everyone else has had training and experience to dodge things. Even Susan and Mary because Pirate Blaster insisted and convinced them to get the training. This allows us to finally have a real advantage over our enemy. At last. I abandon far range attacks again after putting away Chaos before their core could break or melt down. Chaos has undergone some changes to be able to fire more marbles and it has helped a lot so far. "You inferior freaks! Why can't I kill any of you? I can't even stay in one place without being pelted by all of these bouncing marbles!" None of us answer. I just go right for him and manage to keep up with his pace now as I launch Drawing Destruction followed up by Drawing Devastation and Anatomical Disruption. They don't do much damage at all but Sakura just made where I hit him with the arrow earlier a lot more wounded. I hope we can drive this bastard out of this world even though none of us are doing nearly enough to stop him. At this rate, only Madeline's Righteous Anger will be enough to defeat him but that attack doesn't always work so until she can line it up properly and go from there until he is taken down, we have to do what we can to stay alive while still wearing him down. Now that that certain area is a weak spot, I put my dagger back in my left hand and prepare to eventually stab him right there with it. I don't think it will kill or seriously hurt him but it will at least slow him and make him feel some serious pain. I can feel the intense chakra of Kurama, the nine tailed fox who is rampaging through controlling Naruto's body while fighting pain. So much anger. Sakura briefly looks over to the distance and sees what's going on: "Naruto.. 6 tails? That's even worse than last time.." I keep the Dark Sage busy so he can't attack Sakura at all as she looks on in worry. Madeline screams: "SAKURA, WE NEED YOU TO HELP KILL THIS BASTARD! I know you're worried about Naruto but you can't do anything about him right now! WE CAN MAKE SURE HE MAKES IT OUT OKAY BY KILLING THIS DARK SAGE!"

Has she been holding onto that much anger for that long. I can relate. I want to let it out too but unlike with Madeline, I don't think my anger will improve my attack accuracy or anything like that. Her rage is being poured straight into her attacks, amplifying their intensity and effectiveness. Sakura nods and clearly has a serious expression on her face as she also starts attacking the Dark Sage up close. I continue my plot to stab him by performing some diversion attacks first. I try to kick him. Fail. I try to swing at him. Fail. I try to stab his eye. Fail. However, his reaction time is much slower than it could be because of everything that's going on. He had to dodge them all consecutively and deal with the attacks from the others. Smoky Quartz has just been dodging and spinning their yo-yo around this whole entire time to keep the Dark Sage away and make him have even more to dodge. Go and Shun attack from behind while Susan and Mary throw energy alongside Lloyd at our enemy. Perfect. The opening is here. I successfully stab him in the newly formed hurt and weakened spot of his. The substance goes into the bloodstream from there and quietly begins its damage. I hold onto the Dark Sage with my dagger, refusing to let him go even as more things have to be dodged. We're fighting on the floor now as we have since Chaos's marbles were launched but that doesn't mean I'm not fast anymore. I'm still quiet fast. Sakura is able to send him flying into the wall. Some things crack as electricity courses through him. I let go at the perfect time and stay still until he gets back up before swinging at him with my dagger still embedded into him, releasing more and more of the substance in the process. He rips my dagger out of him and the wound starts healing by itself. Damn it, he has self heal. That's really bad news for us. "Damn it! He can self heal? Not even my punches will be enough to defeat him!" Suddenly, he gasps in agony: "What is this pain I'm feeling? How can I feel pain? I'm superior and unstoppable! I will rule Miitopia!"

"It looks like my little surprise is working out very well in our favor. *picks up dagger* You are experiencing a representation of a small portion of the pain you have selfishly inflicted onto others." "You did this to him? You sound like Pain almost. Have you been secretly working with him? Are you a traitor to us?" "No, the answer is I'm not working with Pain. I assure you. Our philosophies are very similar. The difference is I don't have anything like the Rinnegan or the want to hurt innocent people. I refuse to kill innocents or even the pawns of the masterminds behind so much cruelty. If I had my way, I would never have to kill a single individual. However, those who selfishly inflict pain onto others and/or manipulate them are the only ones who deserve pain. We all need pain but only they deserve to suffer from it. The only ways out of suffering for someone who has done these things once I get them are death or changing for the better if they have killed somebody for nefarious purposes. If they haven't killed somebody, they change or they get defeated and sent away to some random tropical island from which there is virtually no escape. Don't ask where. Even I don't know the full details of where they're sent. So there you have it." "You're the only ones who deserve pain. You should be worshipping me, your superior! Instead you defiantly do everything you can to ruin all of my plans and dreams! You crush them because you are disgusting freaks who don't know right from wrong in a different way than most fools who get in my way!" "Sounds like a you problem. At any rate, I hope you're gone by the time the Miitopian Civil War finally ends. It's been so much pain and suffering but we won't give up. You have lost your temper and with it, the ability to not underestimate us apparently. Haaaaaa! We refuse to lose to you! You will not win as long as we live!" With that, we are all set with more determination to bring him down. Even if that wound is gone, he will slowly be destroyed from the inside out. It's only a matter of time before that happens. Unfortunately, I don't think we'd last longer enough against him to see those results. He is now dodging us a lot better since the marbles ran out of energy and just dropped, rolled, and stopped on the ground. That's the end of that, I guess. I swing with all my might but nothing is hitting him anymore. We have to do this more strategically. But then, Madeline lines things up and starts unleashing so many Righteous Anger attacks to try to blast the Dark Sage out of existence. Sadly, that doesn't just yet because each one is failing. What rotten luck. Nevertheless, it makes you know who feel a little uneasy. That's some progress for us I guess. Him feeling uneasy. I put my dagger away and my sword in its sheath before pulling out my guitar. I jump up onto my duel board and start strumming improv style as I screaming whatever comes to mind. I found out earlier from someone's intel randomly that the Dark Sage has extra sensitive oculars for some reason so this is perfect: "Hey hey naughty Nazi. We're going to bring you down or die trying. You're a menace who has to hurt because you have no true friends. It's like you're cold to fill in a hole in your heart. A hole you don't even acknowledge is there. You were in isolation, planning and planning. But never, never could you have foreseen our resistance to everything you ever do. You hurt others, we save them and hurt you a bit. Come on everyone, let's rip him to shreds. Come on everyone, it's time to send him back to wherever the hell he's from. Dark Sage, you have no real privilege to be here to take the energies of the ninja and the others to grow stronger!" I keep strumming before catching up to him with my board and breaking the guitar by smashing him with him as best as I could. After the guitar is trashed, I send it away and pull out my sword. This allows me to nearly cut off his hands that are still covering his ears because of the sounds the guitar made as I bashed him in with it. The damage is small but the auditory agony is immense.

He puts his hands down and glares at all of us before attacking us at nearly once in a an instance. He's far faster than we could have imagined. This is not what we saw coming. Now he REALLY ISN'T holding back. The Dark Sage keeps on attacking us without mercy and breaks through my armor more than before. My mask is barely holding up at this point. This is awful and a serious emergency. We have no backup coming or anything, it's just us. I see more red drip out of me than earlier. We have to stop him from going so fast. But how. Wait, I know. An action field. "Duel disk, go! I activate the Action Field, Lush Forest!" "Generating action field. Action cards dispersed." Shun and I move as fast as we can to gather them all before the Dark Sage can find out what they are. Madeline has somehow managed to cast a paralysis spell on the Nazi, this buys some time. Enough time to get them all. Shun and I give some to Go who nods in approval at this. We get together to fight the Dark Sage head on in time for the spell to wear off, allowing him to make a rampage through insane speed and force. However, the 3 of us just keep dodging or taking no damage thanks to the action cards Evasion and Miracle. Those two are the only action cards that come with Lush Forest. This keeps up for a couple minutes while we try to time things right to stop the Dark Sage from attacking us so quickly that we can't even keep up anymore at this point. I personally want to make him trip. Wait, that's it. "Smoky, please listen! Trip Dark Sage!" I see it as quickly and briefly as I could before I could get cut off by being hit really fast again. I then shoved a HP banana in my mouth after I get attacked again and chew it as fast as possible after getting attacked another time so I am getting seriously beat up now. Smoky uses the trees generated by the action field as cover for what I begged them to do as my wounds healed instantly after I swallowed the HP banana. I don't like their taste but I gotta eat them. I can't recall if I had any earlier before coming here but if I didn't, someone must have summoned them into my ender pouch. But there's no time to dwell on that.

Just as the Dark Sage is about to go for another round of attacking, Smoky starts spinning their yo-yo around. As a result, stuff happens. Many trees are cut down but that doesn't matter to us right now. They'll disappear with the field after all. Because of this, the Dark Sage is forced to avoid having tree fall on him many times over, significantly slowing him down. Eventually, he trips and falls headfirst onto some wood. A small crack noise is heard as he slowly gets back up only for Sakura to punch him right in the face and cause several cracks to be heard at once. Go punches him in the stomach, Shun busts his chin slightly, Madeline burns him with magical wrath, I destabilize his left knee with Anatomical Disruption, Lloyd hits him with energy to the back, and Susan and Mary blast him in the face. All of this happened almost at once. He may be stronger than us but we have a numbers advantage which has turned the tide of the battle with him back to where it was when he was holding back to hide his true power. The Dark Sage coughs up blood: "You insolent freaks! I will kill you all now! I have been secretly charging up 25% of my power into a single attack to break out of here and kill all of you along with it! There will be no survivors except me! I'm the designated survivor and will serve Greed very well! That is a promise!" Out of hand, a lot of energy emerges and explodes at once. And then, it was over in an instant. However, Madeline erected a barrier at the perfect time despite the fact she is still furious at the Dark Sage for everything he's done: "This can't be! All of you should be dead, clerics are never taught this! Impossible! That's an advanced spell not even most mages know about in Miitopia! Who else is here?" "NO ONE BUT US! I WILL DESTROY YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS UNTIL THERES NOTHING LEFT EXCEPT SURRENDER FOR YOU!"

It's a good thing that Madeline both literally and metaphorically has a very strong heart. This was found out a couple weeks ago after she got mad at Bakugo at that party we had. "YOU! This is not possible, all of my plans are going to ruin now! I ordered more security for Skyscraper and yet it crumbled and collapsed anyway because of many battles at once! I can't win here! You're all so stubborn and refuse to die! Just die like good little mortal freaks so I can rule Miitopia!" I spat out: "Over my dead body. We will not give up. We will do everything we can to defeat you and bring your damn movement to an end! Fascism must always be met with criticism and resistance and be crushed so hard that it can never be mainstream ever again! Fascism must always die, no matter what universe or world it emerges. Fighting it peacefully just lets tyrants like you get into power and slaughter innocents for your own selfish and pathetic gains. We will not surrender to the likes of you. Not after everything we've all been through." The fight picks up from there but now, our foe has to try harder to avoid our attacks since we dealt some damage and I messed up his left knee pretty bad. That being said, he is still moving fast and exceedingly difficult to kill. Sakura starts picking up some fallen trees and hurls them in his direction. He destroys most of them with energy blasts until Smoky trips him again and Lloyd makes him knock down by spinning around and attacking extremely fast in classic Spinjitzu style. Once he's down, I run over to him right as Sakura punches him in the neck, forcing him down again just after he started getting back up again. The Dark Sage's wounds all heal fast but the substance from earlier to still making it impossible for his insides to recover so all those cracks are still there. That's how it is as of right now. We are slowly but surely successfully subduing him in actions that only last mere seconds and keep our heart rates up. With him on the ground, I stab him through the heart with my sword and put my left boot on him. He shakes me right off and laughs: "Mortals! I have no internal organs! I am the Dark Sage after all! Do you really think that would work against me! Owww! This pain! It's getting worse!"

Madeline continues to try to turn him into dust with Righteous Anger but it just isn't working. Why won't it just finish him off already? Wouldn't that be nice? He is far from beaten while the rest of us have seen better days. I eat an HP banana again to heal my wounds before covering Sakura as she heals the others. She's panting heavily now. "Damn it! I'm running out of chakra! I won't be able to last much longer in a battle like this." "Crap! You're welcome for helping but since that's the case, we are running out of our okay odds of beating him by the second. We need to finish this up and soon or else, we're dead unless backup manages to somehow get in here or my surprise weakens him enough if it doesn't outright end him by the time you're completely spent on chakra. Wouldn't it be nice to have the help of someone who can use the 8 inner gates right now? I sure believe so." "Yes, I'm almost out so I will just have to preserve my chakra *pulls out a kunai*" Sakura runs to one of the walls of the transparent sphere field and uses chakra focused into her feet to climb up it. From there, she starts throwing kunai equipped with explosive tags wherever she spots a still moving Dark Sage. After that fails a number of times, she begins to throw with her aim supposedly off. She's predicting his movements so she can hit him right as he goes where she believes he will go. Excellent. Susan and Mary reveal they have super-speed due to their transformed bodies. It's like they've been waiting until it was absolutely necessary to use their speed. Ya know, like a secret trump card. But I don't pay attention to that for long. I return back onto my duel board again after getting off of it earlier(sorry for not mentioning when I get off of it, it's just a seamless and fluid thing for me to do now). Using it, I do my best to track down the Dark Sage. I wonder if that clone of the slug Katsuya is- Nevermind, the clone is too big to have gone with Sakura into this fight. Unless, Katsuya's clone split into more.. Guess we'll find out eventually. Katsuya is a giant slug who can be summoned by Tsunade, the 5th Hokage, the current leader of Konoha.

Eventually, I manage to catch up to him so I start chasing after him once I hop back down from my duel board and watch as an explosive tag on a kunai explodes on the Dark Sage. He's doing really well for someone with THAT substance eating away at him slowly in spite of the self healing power he has among other things. Come on, let this work. Please let this work, damn it! We're inching closer to defeating him but also running out of energy and recovery items too. It's too bad mana and chakra are two different forms of energy that creatures can have that allow them to do the impossible. Otherwise, Sakura would be far from out of chakra if it and mana were the exact same thing. Oh well. "You won't escape us, Dark Sage! We will do everything in our power to stop you!" Smoky and the others catch up too and keep up with the chase. Sakura runs out of kunai and ends up joining us in the chase. To make sure you know who can't hide, I deactivate Lush Forest, causing all the grass and trees to disappear. The Dark Sage was clearly trying to blast us with another huge attack of magical energy by hiding and evading us but now, that's just not going to work so well. Sakura says: "Let's not kill him just yet. There's a lot of information we can extract out of him." Madeline relents while still angry: "Okay but let's still make him suffer a lot once we next subdue him." "You know I can hear you freaks loud and clear, right? I won't let you trip me ever again or knock me or stab me or punch me! I will win because I am superior!" "Beings being superior to other beings is just a myth and a waste of time. That crap is too subjective to be true, that's just how it is. Stop wasting your breath and thoughts on such pointless ideals of your own self grandeur. Seriously, you'll be better off not acting like you're better than everyone. It's a waste of thought to believe something so foolish and impossible to prove because it is not a fact but an opinion and self delusion that makes you feel better about yourself." "Says you! I heard you're one of those freaks who won't give up on that pandemic on that Earth not being over!" "So? It's not my fault almost nobody I know offline will even take my firm warnings seriously. I despise the society I live in."

But then, the Dark Sage just stops running: "If I can't outrun you, then I'll just exterminate you as I decimate one area from which I will escape this place and absorb Naruto and Pain!" "You won't ever have the chance to do that. I activate my duel disk. And with these Raid Raptors, I build the overlay network!" Go and I decide not to activate our duel disks again. Shun just has Ultimate Falcon on his field after a minute of a tense pause in the battle which is broken by the Dark Sage trying to kill us only for us to fight back and counter the majority of the force in his attacks, reducing their damage substantially. But that was just about one of the last times we would be able to attack him because he did something: "Fighting all of you head on won't work! I'll have to make sure none of you can move as I finish you off for good! This pain I'm feeling is nothing compared to how painful your deaths will be! Once you're dead, I'll absorb you after I break that thing that scientist put on me! I will break that mark! It makes me look ugly! That Ultimate Falcon won't save you! I cast Many Paralysis Chains!" And just like that, magical chains tie all of us up and no matter what we do, nothing gets us out. Smoky even defuses into Steven and Amethyst but that doesn't work either. "Aw come on man, I thought we'd be able to bust out of these chains! And now, we're dead!" "Don't worry, Amethyst! I'm Pink Diamond too, I should be able to break out of these if I just concentrate hard enough!" "I knew wasting my time researching cartoons and anime from Earth would actually be worth it! I know all about you gems and there's nothing any of you can do to break these chains! All energy is sealed when anyone is binded by these chains! So long, freaks! Now watch in despair as I prepare to destroy all of you with my superior power! It won't matter if I'm ugly or lost earlier once this is over! What a shame that angry Miss Cleric over there couldn't turn me into dust or ash. What a shame. What a shame for all of you, that is! Not me! I will finally win and take over Miitopia! With the chakra of this world soon to be mine, no one will be able to stand in my way! Not the Akatsuki, not Danzo, not Konoha, not the radical freaks, not Guardian, NOBODY!"

He begins charging up a massive amount of magical energy. Crap. We're done unless Dominic or whoever has remote control over the sphere field deactivates it. We don't let anyone on missions where the sphere fields are used have control over it so they can focus on battling and to make sure control of it can never fall into the wrong hands. "Susan, this is it for us.." "Yeah.. I hope Johnny still knows we love our little brother even though he can be really annoying and dorky sometimes." "Amethyst?" "Yes, Steven?" "If we die here today, there's something you should know." "Go ahead, tell me already, buddy." "You are one of the greatest friends I could ever asked for. You helped raise me into who I am today. I will always be grateful to you." "Steven, don't make me cry! You're awesome too! I owe a lot to you too, man. *they try their best to hug each other*" "Well, I tried my best. I hope that Naruto at least defeated all of the Pains, all 6 and the one behind the scenes controlling them.. Forgive me, Lady Tsunade.." "This is it. I did everything I could to open a future through rebellion. I survived Fusion's attack on our dimension, the Xyz dimension. Yuya Sakaki showed me what it was like to have fun in dueling with friends again after I lost almost everything I ever cared about." "This is not how I pictured my end. I have been turned into data by Revolver and Ai and had an AI chip in my brain. Kids, I'm so sorry, it's all over for me. I hope Playmaker can become your new hero in my place." "It's the end for me. I'm so sorry, everyone that I couldn't do more to stop fascism in Miitopia. Goodbyes everyone.. I thought Sage's Vision was right about the future but I guess it wasn't exactly right.." We all accept our deaths but then, the Dark Sage doubles over in pain and the energy built up accidentally releases on him at a small portion of the size it was clearly meant to grow to.

His right hand and part of his right arm are immediately destroyed by the energy. Healing begins immediately even as blood that is tainted with the substance comes out. It's grayish blue colored. The oxygen has been depleted from it. The villain starts having trouble breathing as he begins to run out of oxygen: "No! This can't be! I was so close to winning and killing all who stand in my way along with destroying this sphere for good! Why does it have to be this way?! This can't be happening! No! I was so close! You freaks will get it when my subordinates find out everything and seek each and every one of you out personally! They already know what's happening even as they are slowly retreating from the battle in Galados Isle in very small numbers! This is the end! No! I won't accept going down without dragging these freaks down with me!" He defiantly charges up more energy but, that causes the chains around us to break apart. Steven and Amethyst fuse into Smoky Quartz again as we all leap into action. Sakura holds no punches as she punches the Dark Sage relentlessly. I join her in attacking: "Anatomical Disruption! Drawing Destruction! Drawing Devastation! Take this! Haaaaaaaa! You're dying so we might as well finish the job!" "Chaaaaaaaaaa! You won't be escaping anything anymore as long as you live!" "Ultimate Falcon, wait for the right moment to strike and then launch everything at our ill fated foe!" "It's time to mash you up, Dark Sage!" "This is what you get for just now! Mary, we're such geniuses!" "Guess who's back and ready to bring the house down? Me." "It's time for this fight to finally end! Ninja, go!" "Don't forget about me! Stand back, everyone! Righteous Anger x20!" We all stand back as Madeline delivers her own attack. All of these combined with the substance destroying him are enough to blast him into ash with no other trace of the Dark Sage left. As we're about to celebrate our victory, he suddenly comes back, badly beaten but alive: "This isn't over, mortals! I managed to make a new body, you freaks! With that done, I was able to switch and survive at the last second! I will win and kill all of you for daring to cross me, your superior!"

Just then, a lot of comrades of ours show up and say in unison: "Not so fast!" "What?! No way! The battle's still raging! How is this possible?" Acheron who is among them answers: "I have frozen Mii World in time for a few minutes." Dominic adds: "I helped! It was tiring and such a causation to want a nap but worth it! Now that we're here, it's just about time to capture you. We won't kill you yet. Blaster, you can explain it best. Go ahead." "Arrr! Right! You landlubber are a nuisance who has hurt a lot of people. But as we pirates like to do, we don't just kill you right away. You have information that is far more valuable than some shiny booty sunk deep far below the damn sea in a shipwreck thousands of years ago!" "I'd rather die than tell you mortals anything!" "Arrr! He said the magic words! Let's just capture him now and get this over with!" It wasn't even that much of a fight. Dominic destroyed his right hand and arm completely. Bray binded him in one spot. And that was just two of the many things used to capture him. The last one was Pirate Blaster's duel disk. He activated it and tapped an icon. The Dark Sage recognized it and looked frightened as he found he could no longer cast magic: "I know what that is! No! This is the worst day ever! My other half's dead and I'm getting turned into a card! I will escape one day! You'll see! I'll kill all of you and make it as painful as possible! No mercy!" He is then unceremoniously turned into a card. Blaster picks up the card and hands it to Dominic who pockets it. Pirate Blaster gives a mock bow: "And with that, we gotta return to battle, landlubbers! We'll be seeing you another time! Arrr! May the Many Seas keep you safe even in this destroyed village! Dominic, release the field already!" "Oh yeah. I forgot to do that." They leave just as the field turns back into the sphere cube which I pocket. I turn to Sakura: "As much as I want to tell you more, you have to get to Hinata immediately. After the toads were sent flying, Naruto was restrained and Fukusaku was impaled and died. But before you go, I might be able to show you what you would have seen happen if you hadn't come down to investigate us and our fight. I activate my skill one more time today. Artist's Eye!"

Despite a lot of strain and effort, I show her what was supposed to be seen with my power. "This is unbelievable.. I'll meet up with the others and heal Hinata. Please come to us soon." Madeline replies: "We will. After all, I sense that this altered conflict isn't over just yet. 3 life forms are in the same location now." Sakura runs off and I also get a bad feeling: "Numbers. They're here. Our work here is far from done."

Outro: And that's the chapter! At first, I was having trouble and votes of doubt about my writing skills with fights. I need to get better at them but this turned out really awesome anyway. Not perfect but whoopie doo I guess. It took some time for me to really get into my writing mood. That's called warming up. This will be the start of the Miitopian Civil War conflict spilling over into other worlds. You'll see a lot more of that in the future and find out what Pmurt Nedib has been up to since he died in his original body. But let's not forget that Danzo is around along with Kabuto and the Akatsuki. Wouldn't it be bad if Danzo found out about other universes? I think so. That man is a serious creep.
