Being in front of Kaya's corpse, Luffy just stared at it. Having brought Nami and Shirahoshi out of the room, Law left him alone and the boy couldn't help remembering Nami's words.
"Where were you when your friends needed you the most? Where were you?"
Saying nothing, Luffy ends up pointing his hand at Kaya's face. Then, gently, he placed it over her eyes and lowered her lids. And it was at that moment that Luffy felt a tear roll down his cheek.
"Kaya...I'm sorry! Really sorry."
"Do you understand now?"
Not needing to turn around, Luffy heard Law walking behind him as he affirmed.
"On this island, we are not allowed to have fun! Because fun does not rhyme with survival."
Still remaining silent, Luffy let him continue.
"We're not in a video game, Strawhat-ya! Hope you can figure it out now! If you want to save your friends, you gotta get serious."
Then, finally, he pretended to leave. However, he heard Luffy ask him.
"Law...is it true that it's my fault...that Kaya is dead?"
Stopping for a few seconds, Law ends up turning to Luffy before affirming.
"Don't talk nonsense, Strawhat-ya! You said it, yourself! Whether it was you or me, we were kicked away from the plane, against our will! It's not our fault! And anyway, whether or not you were present on the plane, at the time of the attack, I doubt it could have made a difference."
"You don't know." Luffy retorted. "Maybe if I had been with her...I could have...I could have saved her."
" Tsss! If having regrets was enough to solve his worries, it would be." Law retorted. "Strawhat-ya...if I can give you any advice: instead of hating yourself, you better do what you can to save whatever friends you have left."
Then, without saying more, he left.
Two hours later, two graves had been dug not far from the plane, before the earth blocked the holes and buried the bodies of Dalton and Kaya.
Then, the sun was already setting when Law, Shirahoshi and Luffy finished telling their misadventures and Nami started hers. The four of them were in a circle, around the remains of a campfire lit three days earlier.
"The second night, those monsters attacked us, but I managed to get back to the plane with the help of Ace and the others." Nami explained to them. "After that, everyone freaked out and the pilot was..."
Nami paused for a moment. Then, she looked at Luffy, before lowering her gaze.

Then, while I was in the room, I sat against the far wall and, for I don't know how long, I covered my ears and began to hum! I did this to stop hearing any noise! I did it, over and over again, while closing my eyes! Then, when I had finally decided to remove my hands from my ears, there was dead silence, inside the plane! When I opened the door, I realized that the plane was deserted! Apart from Kaya and me, everyone had abandoned it whether it was Ace, Sanji, Vivi, Zoro, Usopp, Katakuri or the teachers! Kaya died right after I inspected the plane to find someone who could help her! I couldn't do anything to save her. "
She fell silent again.
"Then what were you doing on the plane again?" Law asked her. "For two days, you were alone! Did you ever want to join the others?"
" Yes, but I was afraid to get away from the plane. " She confessed to him. "I was alone, and I knew that this island was home to dangerous predators! I didn't want to leave the plane! And also, I didn't want to abandon Kaya's body! So I decided to stay inside aircraft, which seemed to me to be the safest place on the island! And I only left to go and pick fruit from the trees not too far from here! It was precisely on my way back from one of my pickings that I noticed your presence! The plane door was open while I was still closing it! Sensing that someone had entered the plane, I silently boarded and you know the after. "
"And do you have any idea where the others have gone?"
"I don't know! All I can tell you is that they took all the weapons from the bunker that is next to the plane."

"Even a Harry Potter movie seems more realistic to me than this island." Law told her.
"I don't remember when we landed here." Nami told them. "I had lost consciousness! But when I woke up, I quickly noticed that everyone found this island very strange! For his part, Luffy was really worried about his friends and his brother. If Nami didn't know where they had gone, how was he going to find them? Guys like Usopp, Chopper or Vivi had little chance of surviving and the only way for them to avoid getting killed was to run. Sanji and Ace were better fighters, but will that be enough for them to hold their own against a smilodon or other creature living on this island.
The only person Luffy didn't care about was Katakuri. Those who were most to be pitied were the animals he would encounter on his way. Of the whole school, the boy was known to be the best fighter in their high school. No one dared to provoke him, for fear of being violently knocked down.
"But still, I think everyone had really lost their minds." Nami remarked. "I mean…I felt like I was in the middle of a horror movie! Fear made them hit each other, even though they were friends."

Looking at the forest, he declared.
"Truth be told, maybe the animals won't be the worst danger for those who fled into the forest."
"What do you mean?" Nami questioned her.
"As I said, man is often capable of betrayal in order to survive! So imagine someone has food with him and meets someone who hasn't eaten anything for a few days! Two scenarios can then take place! Either the first person agrees to share their food! Or he refuse and the two will fight until one dies."
Hearing it, Shirahoshi can't help but shiver a little.
"How are we going to survive?"
"Don't worry." Nami assured.
Suddenly, she pinched Luffy's cheek and positioned his face in front of her.
"Do you see the face of that idiot? I assure you that I have often had my doubts that the fact that he is a mastermind! to protect his friends! Don't worry! As long as Luffy is with us, we have nothing to worry about! And it's the same with Tra-o."
" Hey, I'm not a bodyguard. " Law retorted.
"What? Let a poor helpless girl like me get attacked?" Nami questioned.
"I'm not like your blond-haired dog." Law retorted. "I know perfectly well that you are capable of defending yourself.
"Motherfucker." Nami roared, still holding Luffy's cheek between his fingers.
"Nami...you're hurting me."
Preferring to ignore them, Law focused on a subject that made him curious.
"There's something I can't understand."
"What then?" Nami asked him, finally letting go of Luffy's cheek, which he rubbed.
"As you pointed out to us earlier, the wreckage of the plane must surely be the safest place on this island! So why would you want to abandon it for so long knowing that the predators are gone? Before the fight started, there had to be enough water and food to last a few days! Besides, the plane can easily withstand the onslaught of the animals of this island, right? It's strange that everyone is gone and no one thought to come back."
"It's true that it leaves you to think. " Luffy remarked. "There are a lot of cowards!" I doubt they had the idea to leave so as not to return to safety. »
"I'm sorry." Nami apologized. "" I had fallen asleep, at that time, and I saw nothing. "
She then fell silent and seemed to reflect.

"Of course there was." She insisted. "Even though it was so powerful that I thought the plane was going to crack."

" Surely you must be dreaming. " Law suggested, shrugging.
"But since I'm telling you I felt tremors." Nami roared, frustrated at being thought of as a liar. "Why would I lie?"
" I never said that. " Luffy retorted. "We just said that..."
"That's enough!" Law ordered, standing up. "For now, let's put this detail aside! The sun is already setting and the night will soon fall! The best for us would be to go to bed!
"Do we have to install guard towers?" asked Shirahoshi.
"Nadia managed to last two nights without getting attacked so I don't think that's necessary! Let's just make sure no animals can get into the plane."
At that instant, Luffy fell onto his back. Then, to everyone's surprise, a bubble came out of his nostril as he began to sleep. Watching him, Shirahoshi was surprised.
"He fell asleep, in five seconds?"
"That idiot..." Nami growled, banging the top of his head, to wake him up.
However, the impact wasn't enough, as Luffy continued to sleep. Seeing this, Law sighed, while affirming.
"I think he slept badly because he was worried about his friends! But now that he knows that one of his friends is fine, he can afford to sleep and recover his strength. "
"He was worried?" Nami wondered.
"Of course! Even if he wanted to have fun playing survivors, his first motivation was to find you." Assura Law.
Looking at Luffy, he declared.
"As you said, he did everything to be able to help his friends."
Watching him, Nami finally smile and said.
