A.N. Hey all! I hope all is well with you all! Thank for reading and replying and just showing this story some love. I'm so glad you all seemed to like the last chapter, I wanted Bonnie and Klaus to some vulnerability with each other. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 17: Tomorrow can wait
Klaus
The art of kissing is something that he has always found rather fascinating. When he was human the aspect of kissing someone was special, it held promise, promise for more in the future. Back then he was a bubbling fool, afraid of his own shadow...afraid of himself. Mikael had been a nightmare tearing apart in bit of self esteem he bare to muster. But still Tatia had liked him, even with the awful long hair and non existent confidence. When he had kissed her that first time it had held promise. It was a promise of love.
When he became a vampire things had shifted dramatically. His confidence had grown. Though Mikael still terrified him to the core, he realized the effect he had on women and men alike. Everything move he made was part of the art of seduction. If kissing got him closer to his prize may that be a victory against his enemies, a pawn to use or the blood he craved it was just something to do.
Now though, the art of kissing, the art of seduction, all of it never really meant more to him then it does when he's with her. Of course like any other man he often likes to have his dessert first and then he'd go back to the main course. But today, tonight, right now all he wanted to do, was continue to kiss the beautiful woman before him, and let everything else happen naturally. He wants this moment to last, to be drawn out till they both go mad.
Mouth to mouth, hands fisted in her hair, he lets himself enjoy this moment. On her plush couch tiny hands push at his chest as he scoots back, and she follows bringing with her, the lush smell of vanilla and everything that is Bonnie Bennett. She's good, so good, so pure and she gets it, the art of kissing, the promise of more.
The sound of his phone comes to life blaring. The noise startles her enough for all movement to stop. Gone is the friction of her moving against him in his lap. Gone are her melting into his.
She freezes astride him, and pulls away with him following her. She's got him under her spell, tangled up in everything that she is without even trying.
"You should get that," She says suddenly taking flight. "It might be important." She says flustered. "It could be Hope, she might need you."
He gets up quickly the same words that she had uttered had been on the tip of his tongue to tell her as well. Stalking to his jacket, he pulls out his phone to see it's Elijah who's calling. Glaring at the phone he sets it back in his pocket Elijah could wait.
Turning round he spots Bonnie using a bit of magic to make the remains of dinner to be put away. Gone is the half eaten pizza. The mousse is now sitting on the counter in the kitchen. As well as the glasses of wine and bottle of tequila.
He inhales before walking up behind her, so she can feel his body heat. His fingers run down her shoulders as his nose runs along her neck.
Not for the first time he wonders how he found himself here, enthralled by this tiny witch, the same witch who tried to end him. He wants to say it's her power, or her beauty but really its her heart. He's never seen anyone love the way she loves, and her beauty and power just adds to the splendidly nice package.
Her head tilts to the side as his lips find a home on her lovely neck. "You didn't answer the phone." She moans out as he gets work to leaving his first of many marks of the night. He wants everyone to know that she is his.
"It was Elijah." He says as her body tenses at the mere mention of his brother.
She sucks in a breath. "He might need you, for original vampire business." Her voice sounding detached as her body tenses at the mention of Elijah. He knows from experience how much she could hold a grudge. He could relate he held grudges too. The difference between he and Bonnie was that she was willing to play nice, at least for Lucy, whereas he didn't play nice. Not with anyone who had done him wrong. Still though, he knew that the green eyed beauty would never forgive Elijah, that was why she never spoke to him.
He shakes his head. "Not more than I need you," He says against her ear. He holds her close. "Then you need me. "He voices as his hand trails down the front of her body.
He can feel her resolve slipping. Whatever she was trying to hold back, it's falling apart.
Whirling around she turns to him, her eyes telling him softly what her mouth has yet to say.
"What are we doing?" She says her voice soft. "Klaus, I've never told anyone the things I've told you." She shuts her eyes tight not looking at him.
He places his forehead against hers. "Look at me, love?"
When she opens her forest green eyes he lets out a content sigh.
He grips her hand in his. "No one has ever seen me, the way you see me." He says as they stand close. He had always felt the need to be seen, to do things so that he could be seen. But with her, with Bonnie she saw him without him even trying. "If you want me to leave, I'll leave." He says honestly.
Eyes meet, and he knows her answer even before she says it. "Don't go, stay." She mumbles. " I want you to stay." She says this time more clearly, in fact its loud and clear.
When she leans up against him and kisses his bottom lip, he's putty in her hands. He wants to give her this, let her control the narrative. And when she reaches for his hand and leads him to her bedroom, all he can do is close the door.

Elijah
Back and forth he paces as Lucy Bennett looks on at him like he's crazy. They have made it back to her shop where he keeps a keen eye on the door. Something was definitely not right. The witch he saw, she must've done something to him and to Lucy.
"And you're certain you didn't see anything, feel the raindrops, see the sky darkening, see her?" He asks for what feels like the thousand time. The her in question is a face he can't seem to get out of his mind, but what is even more bothersome is the dialect of the voice.
The bronzed beauty only shakes her head. "Elijah, I'm telling you I didn't see anything. In fact I thought you ditched me till you came up to me with crazy eyes, demanding we leave at once."
Hands on his hips he pulls out his phone again. Niklaus was often the type of person to ignore phone calls. In the past his brother didn't like to be held down, or feel like he was being watched. The whole thing could only make him roll brown eyes. If anyone was keeping tabs on Niklaus it was because his younger brother had a temper problem and that always meant trouble. In the time since Hope had been born though, his brother answered calls almost all the time, except for tonight.
"Elijah why don't you tell me what happened?" Lucy says coming to stand next to him.
Looking her way he nods. His nerves were rattled, something that had never happened. That woman, that voice it was of someone he had never seen. But the eyes, those eyes were so familiar and the way she spoke to him. It was almost like she knew him, or knew of him. She certainly knew of Klaus and that spelled trouble.
"I've got to try Niklaus again." He says pulling his phone out again, only for the phone to keep ringing. Surly nothing had happened. He could be overacting. He was probably overacting.
"Elijah?" Lucy calls concern laced in her voice.
He manages to raise an eyebrow to let her know he was listening all the while trying Niklaus again. He realizes that this date if you will was not turning out the way he had wanted it. He had come here to protect her and here he was rattled by that witch in the park. He couldn't help it, she was familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time.
"If it's really that important why don't you just go find him." Lucy suggests. "Damon left with Vincent, and I haven't heard from Bonnie," She says pausing. "Your brother is probably with her."
Her words soak in rather quickly. Of course Niklaus wouldn't answer his phone if he was entertaining Bonnie. It seemed that his brother had grown fond of the Bennett witch, more than fond. Niklaus likes to call himself a bachelor that would never settle down, but it appeared that he and Bonnie were getting much closer. They were already exclusive, and by the looks of things Niklaus was finally happy.
"It was nothing. Niklaus and I will deal with it in the morning." He says cataloging the event into this memory. "I ran into a witch, we had some words, that's it."
Lucy looks at his suspiciously. "You seem spooked, worried even."
"When it comes to my family, I'm always worried." He says confesses. "Now lets get back to your shop." He says looking about. "I'll help you catalog those items."
She steps close to him. Brown eyes examining him. "Are you sure? If you need to find your brother, I'm cool here. In fact I insist you go"
He smiles whilst looking her way. "There is no way, I'm leaving you. I promised to be at your side and that," He says taking off his jacket and placing on a nearby chair. "Is what I plan on doing Lucy Bennett, you cant get rid of me that easy."
She quirks her lips to the side. "Fine then. How good are you with following directions?"
He grins. "What do you have in mind?" He asks huskily.
She eyes him in that Lucy Bennett way. "Do you think you're ready to get your hands dirty, with me of course."
He chuckles to himself. "I have a feeling I'll enjoy it as long as you do too."

Bonnie
I knew the moment Klaus had offered to go that I wanted him to stay. The old Bonnie would've done anything and everything to get out of this situation. In fact the old Bonnie would probably spend most of her time biting her nails waiting for Damon and Vincent to check before finally calling them to check in on them. The old Bonnie would've used this time alone to call Caroline and gossip about the comings and goings of back home.
But I wasn't the old Bonnie, not anymore. Life had changed me. And in this life, I went after what I wanted and what I wanted was Klaus and all the feelings he brought out of me. I wanted to indulge in him, in the moment for longer then even I expected.
Hand in hand, I bring him to my bedroom, a room that was all me everywhere. Though we had shared many moments together and bodily fluids this was the first time I was really letting him, to get to see the real me.
I was throwing cation to the wind and hoped it all worked out in the end.
It appears that Klaus is fascinated by the knick knacks in my bedroom. The first thing he does is look around it. He fingers items on my desk. Takes his time looking at my picture wall, which had been a gift from Damon. And even shows hint of dimples when he see's a picture in particular.
When he turns around to face me, it's like he really sees me, or at least got a good idea of who I was behind all the magic and the Bennett name. He looks like he sees me as Bonnie, not the witch, friend or the pawn, but as me.
Closer he comes my way, his hand resting on a silk robe that is hanging up on a hook.
"So this is where the magic happens?" Klaus asks a devious look on his face.
I bite back a grin. "I guess you could say that," I say walking further into my bedroom. "But then again, I am magic." I say, using said magic to bring him forward.
My magic swirls around us, flowing from me and wrapping itself around him like a cocoon.
He tries to resist but for some reason my magic is off the charts today. When he's standing in front of me, I bite my lip. My hands play with the open buttons of his henley as I look up into intense blue eyes.
"That-that you are." He says capturing my hand in his all the while holding it to his chest. "But you forget," He says leaning close to my ear. When he pulls away his eyes are flickering between blue and amber. I'm so distracted by his ever changing eyes that I don't realize his next move, till he's got me swept up in his arms.
I swallow hard while he holds me close. "What did I forget?"
"I'm magic too."
In the moments that follow are clothes get missing fast, our fingers dance along each others bodies, squeezing and caressing. Our mouths share secrets without talking and our bodies join over and over again. Till the only thing left to hear, is moans, groans and gasps of delight.
The raging storm outside had nothing on us.

Lucy
Lucy Perfection Bennett was her name and potion making was her claim to fame. In everything she had done in life, she strived to be the best at it and luckily for her, potion making was what she excelled at. It was the reason her magic shop was so popular. She was damn good at what she did and she reveled in showing off her skills to the very handsome original gentleman known as Elijah.
Her persona had been that bit of wild child who always had her finger up in the air. She couldn't disperse the rumor because well that part was true. She played hard and was never one to let a pretty face deter her. Well that had been, till Elijah and his suaveness had actually taken off his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves. Good lord, the sight was amazing and then he proceeded to help her around the shop. That man looked good in and out of a suit and watching him herbs and spices was her aesthetic.
"How am I doing?" Elijah asks drowning out her thoughts that were bound to turn wild any minute.
She had been eyeing him like he was a juicy steak when suddenly Elijah spoke up. "Good." She says perking up. "All we need is citrine" She exclaims walking over to where a liquid version of the gemstone was formed. "And juice of one lemon." She says as Elijah stirs away.
This had been nice. Usually she would be doing this alone, unless Vincent was available. Bonnie had been swept up between her boyfriends that when she did come to the magic shop, they spent hours gossiping instead of getting work done. Finally she had banned Bonnie from the shop on days she needed to get work done because if not, they spend the day laughing and trading dirty details.
"What are we making anyway?" Elijah asks sniffing the citrus filled air.
She adds a dash of brown sugar as the last ingredient. "I can't tell you, Bennet rules." Turning round she grins his way. "And to tell you would be the end of you." She says smiling. "And you're way to pretty to end."
Elijah has stopped stirring now and sends her a smolder. Damn when did it get hot in here?
"Over the years, I've learned that Bennett women take magic seriously, it appears you're no different."
She tilts her head to the side. "It's who we are, it's in our blood."
"Sounds delicious."
"You have no idea, it's all delicious." She says motioning to her body and winking in his direction.

Later when the potion is finally done she can't help but marvel his way. "You did good today." she muses. "I don't think anyone would expect you to work so well with potion making."
He braces his hands on the table. "Well potion making has a lot do with being precise and as a baker, I know what that's about."
She chuckles. "So those chocolate chip cookies you sent way back when was your doing?"
"Of course." He beams. "If I remember correctly you said those cookie were almost as good as getting laid."
She can only feel her face run hot. Her mouth had a mind of it's own.
"Besides," He says conversationally. "My mother was a witch had we not turned I'd probably be a warlock." He says using vampire speed to approach. "Could you picture me as a warlock Lucy?"
Suddenly she's feeling all kinds of wobbly. He smells so good, and Elijah Mikaelson has been on her radar for so very long. Now though, he's looking at her with chocolate eyes looking like hot fudge. And to top it off, he's always let her be the assertive one, but tonight, he's in rare form. "I don't know would you have facial hair?" She jokes.
He squints one eye her way. "For this experience yes."
"Truthfully, I can't picture you as anything but a vampire that looks good in or out of a suit." smile. "A vampire that enjoys baking and potion making, a vampire that I am impressed by."
He's closer now, reaching out for the swell of her hips. "That's good to know." He says smoothly. "But just so you know, I've got much more," He says bridging the gap between them. "In my skill set"
A twitch went her mouth. "Are you willing to share?"
He leans close to her mouth. "I could demonstrate some of my specialty moves, if you like."
Oh, she would most definitely like it. In fact she lifted her leg and wrapped it around his waist to enclose him. When all of a sudden her damn stomach growled. Again!
"Is- is that your stomach."
"Yep."
"Perhaps I should feed you first."
"That would be nice."
"Any suggestions?"
"Bacon cheeseburger, extra bacon."
He nods her way and just like that he's gone.
She's alone for all of five seconds when the sound of heavy rain startles her, followed by the sound of the a new customer.
Turning round she greets the customer with a smile. "Hi, you must be the customer that ordered the amplifier."
The woman who wears bold red lipstick looks at her for a long time before pulling out her phone and showing the invoice. "That would be me."
"Ok, this was just made so it might be still warm." She says handing over the potion.
The guest only smiles. "You're alone tonight, in this storm?" The customer muses.
"Bennett women don't scare easily." she says with a smile.
The woman only smiles. "Pity because the men you keep in your company should scare you." Pause. "In fact they should terrify you." The woman says boldly. "As long as you and your cousin are attached to the Mikaelson family destruction is headed your way."
She opens her mouth ready to tell her customer to stay out of her personal business when the woman clenches her hand into a fist stealing her voice.
"Just a little advice, run don't walk, or you'll be just another witch to fall at the side by the Mikaelson brothers." The woman says walking to the door. "And if you don't head my warning, see what happens to witches that get too attached to them."
With that the woman disappeared in thin air.

Damon
He drummed his fingers on his knees trying to get a hold of the sudden jitters that were sent his way. Leaving Bonnie had been harder than he expected. In fact it had been downright painful. In the hours since he put some distance between the two of them, he and Vincent had settled on conversation. The talked about light topics, Vincent and his job as regent. And he told the regent all about his time of being the bad boy back home. He even told him about the painful relationship he shared with his brother. Vincent was a good listener and he didn't judge, well not that much.
"You should consider yourself lucky, the only person who has driven my car aside from my brother is Bonnie so you're in a league of your own." He jokes as he sits back in his seat.
Vincent only sends him a look. "Should I prepare a speech or something?"
He shrugs "You could."
"I won't." Vincent says looking ahead at the road. "What's got you so fidgety?" the warlock asks suddenly.
He tilts his head back already feeling his phone vibrating. Stefan had said that while Elena was sitting in a cave or well, or something that he had given her, her phone. And since then it was like she had been calling him all the time. He wasn't interest in talking. Not when he was in crisis mode.
"I left my best friend with a man I hate." he exclaims. "The same man that she," pause. "She likes."
Vincent says nothing but keeps driving.
"Come on Vince, it's killing me, I don't know how you're so calm."
The warlock switches lanes. "For me, and Lucy- I let Lucy live her life because if not she's going to be all up in mine." He says with a chuckle. "As for Bonnie, you gotta let her have this moment, and be their for her to pick up the pieces."
He rolls his eyes. "Oh goodness you sound like my brother and all his wisdom."
Vincent turns off the car. "Well he can't be that wise if he let you take his girlfriend and then got suckered in to taking care of said ex-girlfriend while you travel around with your best friend."
He only sends him a dirty look.
"Speaking of said girlfriend, I noticed you haven't returned not one of her calls."
That assessment was true. Elena had a tendency to make everything about her and this situation and all current situations were not about her right now. "She's a bit of a drama queen and this- this is about Bonnie."
Vincent says nothing but nods. Turning off the engine the warlock hands him the keys since they've finally arrived to the hotel.
Using vamp speed he gets out the car quickly. The vibration of his phone tell him he's got a new message. "Stefan already has our rooms." He says placing his phone in his back pocket.
"Great." Vincent say duffle bag in hand. "Now you and your brother can deal with this Enzo guy, and I will see if I can get a lead on those people who ruined my meeting."
He chuckles. "Come Vince, you've got to meet my brother."
When they make it to the room, Stefan has the door open before he can actually knock. Stefan is in full brood mode and he has to roll his eyes at that. He looks over to Vincent as if to say, see what I mean about the brooding.
"I know you said, you and your friend had everything handled," Stefan says. "But I figured maybe you could use your brother too."
He looks between Stefan at the door and Vincent at his side. "The more the merrier." He says making his eyes go wide.
DS-DS-DS
Once they've crossed the threshold, he introduces Stefan and Vincent, while they order room service. Vincent of course goes for something sweet, while he and Stefan sip on blood bags.
"What's the plan?" Stefan asks after a while.
"Enzo is suppose to meet me tomorrow, and its then that I'll try to get information about Julian."
Stefan nods.
Vincent will come in and try to get a read on him.
Stefan raises thick eyebrows. "You're a warlock right?"
"Yeah. If this Enzo is as dangerous as Damon has said, I wanna be near so I can protect the innocents." Vincent says quickly.
Stefan nods. "Where do I fit in?" his gray eyed brother asks suddenly.
He stands and rubs his hands together. "Enzo, is usually for predictable, but since Bonnie..." He trails off.
"You mean since he blames you for Bonnie leaving him." Stefan reminds. "He lost his damn mind because of it and you think you'll be able to talk to him calmly."
He nods his head. "That was then, this is now." He says walking over to his brother. "If I go too far, I need you to bring me back, both of you." He says looking back at Vincent. "If nothing works just say her name, remind me that I'm doing this for her, for her safety."
Three men share a look before a bottle of bourbon is open.

Bonnie
Stretching I roll over to find the bed is empty. Looking around the room, I'm surprised to find that not only was I still alone, but just how hard it was raining. Grabbing my robe. I climb out of bed, my feet hitting the cold hardwood floors.
Though Klaus was nowhere to be seen, I knew he was still around.
Walking out of my bedroom, I head to the living room, where the door to the backyard is open. Clutching my robe close, I walk to the door, startled to see a big tawny colored wolf looking up at the moon.
Frozen is what I am. I had never seen a wolf like this up close and this was way too close.
The wolf lets out a howl that startles me, before hopping off the furniture and sitting next to me. His snout rubs against my leg as my hands sink into his fur. I had never encountered a wolf like this, like ever but this wolf felt familiar. "Klaus, is that you." I call causing the wolf to look up at me, with familiar eyes.
It's in the moment that I realize it is indeed Klaus. And to prove his point, Klaus turns back into human right before my eyes.
Standing to his full height I watch as he works his muscles to and fro. "The moon was calling me, well my wolf." he says suddenly. "And while I was out here, I decided to let everyone know I was here." He says wrapping his arms around me.
"Do I want to know." I ask as he walks me backwards.
"Probably not." He says with a dimpled grin.
"Can we go back to bed now?" I ask as he buries his face in my neck.
"Yeah." He says after a while.
He takes a hold of my hand and then leads the way. He even locks all the doors and once we've arrived back to my bedroom, and we're snuggled together. He holds me close till I fall asleep.
A.N. 2: For those hoping to see Klonnie and Hope together, it's coming very soon.
