Chapter 21: Dig Deeper
As Josh and I get going on the road, it's then that I realize, I have nothing to bring to Sunday tea and my grandmother had taught me better then that.
"So, Josh how about we take a little detour over to my house." I say causing him to look me over.
Josh sends me a look. "Have you not heard anything I've said, woman! Klaus wants what he wants and he wants you."
I bite my lip. "I promise it wont be long." I say offering up a dazzling smile.
"So you're saying you want him further on my ass?" Josh wide eyed.
"I told you before." I say patting his shoulder. "I'll handle Klaus."
Josh rolls his eyes. "Fine, but I come with conditions." He finally relents. "First you have to answer all my questions!"
I mull over his words and then shrug my shoulder. "Sure." I say as the brown of his eyes glitter with happiness.
"Good, now first question, is your ultra hot roommate going to be home?" Josh asks.
Furrowed brows I turn to look over at him. "Um, no, why?"
"Good." Josh says wiping his forehead. "All his hotness makes me nervous and I'm already a nervous guy."
I find myself grinning. "Trust me, it comes with the territory of being around him. You'll be immune soon enough."

Damon
He had realized after spending the afternoon with Enzo that the brown eyed vampire had basically taken a page out of his own diary, as if he had one. No instead of writing down all his dirty deeds he tended to leave visuals all over the place. It seemed that Enzo had taken the same route in the quest to get the attention of Bonnie. The scorned brown eyed vampire wanted to make a show out of everything and then rub in the face of the girl who walked away from him. Everything Enzo did was to get a rise out of Bonnie. In fact the only reason the vampire agreed to meet with him was because of their mutual affection for the girl with the green eyes, and their supposed mutual heartache over the same girl.
He understood it, the anger, the heartache the quest for vengeance. In fact had this been another time he probably would've done the same thing because he had always been petty. However, when it came to Bonnie if they had ever been in a similar situation, he knew he couldn't do anything to hurt her because she had been hurt enough to last a lifetime. He'd just want her to be happy.
Damon's Flashback
"Do you think you can do it, make Bonnie hate you?" Enzo asks as they huddle together.
"Because what I have planned will leave a bitter taste in her mouth." Enzo says sloppily. "And if that doesn't work, I've got plenty tricks up my sleeve."
He picks up his glass and tilts it back and forth watching the liquid slush around. "How bad are we talking?"
Enzo grins. "I'm talking burn it down to the ground, every ounce of affection, every good thing and every bad thing." Enzo elaborates.
He only sips his drink. "I won't hurt her, that much you should know." He says looking over at the disgruntled brown eyed vampire.
Enzo chuckles darkly. "She's neutered you. You! Damon Salvatore the same man that banged his own brothers girlfriend five minutes after they broke up."
He weighs his options and decides to play the game because Enzo is all but begging for him to throw him a bone. "How far are you planning to go?"
Enzo rolls his eyes. "How far are you willing to go."
He stands and drains his drink. "I guess you'll see." He says walking away.
"Damon." Enzo calls. "Meet me back here by sundown and we'll livin this party up."
End of flashback
Back in his hotel he finds Stefan and Vincent playing cards. He's surprised that Stefan looks like he's enjoying himself because Stefan always looks bored. But with Vincent I guess the warlock always seemed to work some sort of magic, even if he weren't using actual magic.
"How was it?" Stefan asks throwing his cards on the table.
"Fine." He says tossing his leather jacket on the bed.
"You don't look happy?" Vincent says shuffling the cards.
He sits on the bed, hands on his head. "He's not over her. In fact he's after her." pause. "He wants to hurt her and he wants me to help him do it."
Stefan clicks his tongue. "He's testing you."
He nods. "Enzo believes that I'm lovesick over Bonnie." Pause. "I'm supposed to meet him back at the bar later, so we can share our misery."
Stefan scrubs his hands over his face while his foot taps up and down. "I don't think this is a good idea." His brother voices. "You have a habit of going dark, or flirting with darkness." Stefan continues.
He glares over at Stefan. "I can handle Enzo." He says darkly. All he has to do is get the brown eyed vampire to let his guard down and then start asking questions about Julian. This whole mission was give Bonnie peace of mind and he wouldn't fail.
"What about the feelings he's going to want you to speak about? " Stefan demands. "I get it, you fell in love with your best-friend. You're also not a fan of Klaus. Enzo is going to play on your resentment and anger over any guy that Bonnie is seeing." Stefan seethes. "You look like you're about to crack with the mere mention of Bonnie with someone else. How are you going to do with Enzo for a long period of time?"
"I'm fine." He grits out. "I know where Bonnie and I stand. We care about each other, we just have to work out the kinks of everything else, and yes that means my Elena situation and her Klaus fling."
Stefan blows out air.
"How far are you really willing to go to get some answers from this guy?" Vincent asks suddenly.
"As far as I need to go." He admits.
"Maybe," Vincent says gaining his attention. "Maybe you need a bit of magic to help you along the way." the warlock says suddenly. "I cant condone nor allow you to hurt any human, but I can get in the mind of your vampire friend and make him think you're doing what he wants you do."
Sitting up, he turns to Vincent. "How."
Vincent cracks his knuckles. "You'll see."

Bonnie
Arriving home I let Josh follow me inside only for him to stop dead in his tracks as he takes in the sight of portrait of Damon and I on canvas. I know it was bit jarring especially since it was huge, but it had been a gift from Damon and he wanted to hang it so everyone could see it. The gift itself had been given to me in the beginning of my relationship with Enzo.
Flashback
I stood with the door cracked open watching as my very obtuse best friend had hauled something from his car.
"What are you doing here?" I ask arms crossed. We had gotten in a fight recently and I wasn't ready to make up. Damon had been on whining spree about me and Enzo getting together and when I asked him why he muttered Enzo wasn't good enough for me.
He smirks hitching the gift under his arm. "I came to see my buddie." Pause. "Hey buddie."
I'm seconds away from closing the door and he must've seen it because soon he's put his foot in front of the door. "Come on Bon, you're my best friend."
I narrow my eyes his way. "Really, I'm your best friend? Well as your best friend, you're supposed to be happy for me, I've found someone that I actually like outside of you."
He wiggles his eyebrows. "So you like me?"
I glare his way, shake my head and walk into the house with Damon following me on my heels.
I hear the door close and decide to ignore him. Picking up and magazine and flip through the glossy pages not paying attention to it at all. "Shouldn't you be still gloating somewhere over the fact that Elena is still interested in you instead of Stefan?"
He flinches. "That was harsh."
"So is going after the love of your brothers life, but I guess that's just you, you do what you want and say what you want and expect everyone to just go with your flow."
I was expecting him to leave after I spit my words out, instead he only hops on the couch. "Okay. I get you're mad, but Bon I said what I said about you and Enzo because he isn't good enough for you."
I stood up needing space away from him. "According to you nobody is good enough for me. But I need you to hear me, I want to live and I will live Damon. If it were up to you I would celibate for the rest of my life or dating a carbon copy of you."
He opens his mouth ready to speak and I raise an eyebrow, if he said what I thought he was going to say, I was going to throw him out.
Instead of him further infuriating me, he offers a grin a shoves his wrapped gift in my face.
"What's this?" I ask trying to hold back the feeling a get in my stomach. I loved presents everyone knows that. Damon knows for sure and here he was trying to get back on my good side, after ruining the double date I had with him and Elena.
"Open it, you like presents, so I got you a present." He says though his eyes are dancing.
Ripping the paper off a spot a portrait of the two of us, smiling like it was our last day on earth.
Looking up, I can see he's nervous. "It's beautiful." I say really looking at the masterpiece in front of me.
He walks closer to me now, so close that our feet are touching. "I'm glad you like it." Pause. "I know you hated that pissing contest Enzo and I had over you."
I look up at him. "It was childish and embarrassing. I think it even hurt your girlfriends feelings that you spent the majority of the night hanging all over me, or trying to get a rise out of my date."
He swallows hard. "I know you, my little bird will fly away one day, I just," He looks down. "I don't want you to ever forget about me."
I smile up at him. "You Damon Salvatore are my best friend, I'll never forget about you."
He reaches for my hand. "I wont let you."
End of flashback
"Wow, that's just wow." Josh says with a lost of words.
I've already made my way to the kitchen and find myself pulling out all the ingredients to Sheila Bennett's famous banana pudding.
"Yeah." I say placing vanilla cookies down in a casserole dish. "It was a gift from Damon."
Josh hops on a stool located behind the island and begins peeling bananas. "That's some gift." pause. "Tell me how do you do it."
"What?" I ask, as Josh slides over the bananas. I snap my finds and they are perfectly chopped.
Josh leans forward. "Handle the hotness."
I crack a grin. "It gets old." I admit opening the fridge and retrieving the milk, followed by a trip to the pantry for pudding mix. "Plus he has a girlfriend."
"Yeah, I'm looking at her." Josh says cheekily.
I lean forward as well. "No I mean he has a real girlfriend. She's a vampire, danger prone but at least she'll survive it."
"Where is said girlfriend now?"
"Back home." I say whilst putting together the banana pudding. "She's in a well, cave or hole." I kind of tuned that mess out." When I look up Josh has the widest eyes I've ever seen. "It's a long story."
Josh shakes his head. "What is she doing? Training for the role of groundhog– she should've at least come out of the first it was groundhog day."
I can't help but giggle I had the same conversation with Caroline and Klaus. "Like I said long story."
"Okay." Josh says drumming his hands on the counter. "Last question, if you had to chose between Damon and Klaus, who would you choose?"
I lament on his words as Josh looks on waiting for the answer.
"That's for me to know and for you to never find out."
Klaus
Arms crossed he surveys the room and realizes that Haley needs to go. "Run along now Haley, my siblings and I have much to discuss." He says his tone straight to the point. "Besides," He says a wicked grin appearing on his lips. "I'm almost certain that Jackson needs his balls coddled."
Haley tilts her head to the side glaring. "Your not funny at all."
He shrugs. "Actually I'm hilarious and accurate all the time." He admits. "The way you baby him, I'm surprised he isn't taking a bottle."
Enraged she clenches her fist. "Jackson is my husband, it's time you treat him with some respect."
He chuckles. "Let him hold down a career choice for a year and I'll think about it." He snips back. "By the way, how is our restaurant development doing these days, I've yet to see any papers run across my desk."
Haley looks away. "That's because you're too busy trying to bend Bonnie Bennett over it." She mumbles though everyone can hear it loud and clear.
Rebekah manages to get out a not so quiet giggle, while Elijah only shakes his head in disapproval of her words.
He only grins as he walks closer to the mother of his child. "Tell Jackson, don't play with my money or my time."
Beet red she glowers his way. "Hope needs to back with me by 7:00 and please keep the sweets to a minimum." Haley says turning on her heel. "She turns into a miniature version of you."
When Haley finally disappears he turns to his siblings and joins them.
Elijah is sitting in a comfy chair. One leg is crossed over the other. While Rebekah is putting ice in her glass.
"Congratulations, you still know how to clear a room Nik."
"It's a gift really." He says sitting on the couch.
"And you're so gracious about it." Rebekah deadpan.
"I would also like it noted," He says pointing at know one in particular. "That I didn't result to threats either." He says slumped over to one side.
Elijah clears his throat. "No. You just used her weakness against her Niklaus! Surly you could do better with the mother of your child."
After hearing Elijah and his latest spiel, he and Rebekah lock eyes from across the room. His sister only snorts, while he rolled blue eyes. Elijah had always had a soft spot for damsels.
Put off by his older brothers words, he retorts quickly. "Perhaps, you dear brother should use that same tactic when it comes to other women as well." He fires back. "Or does the great Elijah never use others as collateral?" He reminds his brother. Should he had brought up the Abby situation, probably not but after hearing how unloved Bonnie had felt growing up and then having to see what happened to Abby all because Elijah had left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Rebekah stands in the middle of the room, though neither he nor Elijah had gotten up or continued on with the current conversation. "Guys, calm down."
He's calm, Elijah looks ticked off, though he trying his best to hide it. He, however doesn't wish to fight, especially since Hope is here. Little ears hear everything after all.
"I'm calm." He says motioning toward Elijah who is twisted.
Elijah spares him a glance. "As am I."
"Good." Rebekah says joining him on the couch.
"So, what did I walk in on?" He asks not wasting a moment.
"Elijah was about to fill me in on the current witch that is obsessed with the two of you." Bekah, says waving her hand around thus flashing a ring on that finger.
Normally he would've lost his shit and flipped out because...well he was a control freak after all. However, he had realized recently, that he and his siblings were far too old to be meddling in each private lives. If Rebekah and Marcel wanted to be together, forever then so be it. Marcel was the only person he could ever really trust with his little sister and Rebekah was the only person he could trust with someone, he had cherished as much as Marcel.
"But," His sister continues drawing him out of his personal musings. "I'd much rather discuss the fact that you two are still swimming in the same gene pool." She says wagging her head.
Elijah lets out a long drawn out sigh. "Must we rehash this Rebekah?" The original worry wort groans out. The mere topic seems to stress his older brother out because soon Elijah is unbuttoning the top three buttons of his dress shirt. And clutching his newly refilled glass tight.
Eyes glittering, Rebekah pulls her feet up on the sofa. "Yes we must." She says looking from Elijah to him. "I thought we moved past this, that the two of you moved past this?"
Elijah cradles his head and he can't help but find all of this amusing. "We have."
"Yet, here we go again, same gene pool, same women it's all the same to me. You're my brothers and I love you but this – gets old."
He chortles at her words. This time it was different though, Bonnie wasn't like the others. "I'm quite sure Elijah here hasn't swam, much less dived into anything in a very long time." He says before a roar of laughter leaves his mouth. Elijah only sits uncomfortable causing him to laugh even harder.
Rebekah puts her own glass to her lips before pulling it down once more. "While you reek of all your dirty deeds." She snaps back while he bops her nose.
A server walks through offering him a glass of favorite drink and he takes it easily."It's not my fault she finds my prowess and charm irresistible."
"I do believe it was the knock on the back of the head that did that." Rebekah says while laying her head on his shoulder, all the while pulling at his bracelets.
He can only glare at the notion.
"Are the two of you quite finished?' Elijah asks causing Rebekah to nudge him as they share a look again before facing father figure Elijah. His brother is equipped with a raised brow as he waits for an answer that never comes.
"I assure you Rebekah and you Niklaus, that we will not have a repeat of the Petrovas."
"Or your weird fascination with Haley?" Rebekah asks sitting up.
Elijah scrubs his face. "That was a misstep that will never happen again."
"It certainly won't happen again." He declares flashing his fangs.
Rebekah pinches him. "Relax, your eyes are changing colors and I will not be in the middle of this pissing contest."
He feels his fangs going back into his gums and when he's calm enough speaks again. "Besides my Bennett witch, Bonnie has much better taste then Lucy." He says gaining twin eye rolls. "And she hates your guts."
Elijah grins now, though it's subtle. "Isn't that how it always starts?" Elijah says amused. "Two people loathe each other, one minute they are fighting and the next it's the knocking of the boots?"
Rebekah spits her drink out while he can only glower. "Yes, you're quite right Elijah." He says keeping his cool. "But the main difference is, my girl holds a grudge, so much that if I were you I'd keep contact a bare minimum." He says smiling with teeth.
Elijah seems angered by his words because he's leaning forward. "I'm not afraid of her, perhaps she shouldn't let this suit fool her."
All joking aside he sits up straighter now, no longer lounging about on the sofa.
"Bonnie is a fighter and she's got a mean temper- I suggest you don't get any further on her bad side." He warns his brother.
Elijah nods. "I can only guess this is about Abby?" The original deduces. "Perhaps she and I can share a moment before your Sunday tea so we can discuss things."
He shoots to his feet. "Absolutely not!" He says hearing Hope and Marcel out in the garden. He walks over to the window to see the two of them. Marcel has basket while Hope picks flowers. "She's not ready," He continues still looking out the window. "And I wont let you push her." He says with a finality that leaves the room silent.
Rebekah soon claps her hands. "Well since all of that is settled lets talk about me." She beams.
He and Elijah meet eyes and nod as he walks back over to where his siblings are sitting.
Elijah takes a sip of his glass before finally speaking. " I thought we, were going to speak about the witch, but it appears you sister dear, have news to share." Elijah says with a slight grin. "And why talk of impending doom and gloom when we can talk about something more pleasant."
He can agree with Elijah. The three of them had, had a dark cloud hanging over each of them for so long. But, maybe things could change. Surly stranger things had happened, he and Bonnie were a prime example of it. If they could let go of shared animosity then maybe a positive change could come to the Mikaelson family.
He takes a long look at his siblings, Elijah who has finally found someone to occupy his time and Rebekah who is beaming with happiness. He can do nothing but marvel in this moment because for once, they were all content.
Of course a crazy witch was hellbent on wrecking everything he and siblings had built, but that was nothing new. But what was new, was that they were all happy and content.
"You obviously have something to share, so stop tip toeing around it." He says nudging Rebekah
Rebekah grins. "I know you've been wondering about this beautiful ring that adorns my finger while you've been low key fighting about Bonnie Bennett." She says looking down at her ring. "It's probably been in the back of your mind when you weren't thinking about Bonnie." Rebekah says looking over to him. "Or when you Elijah weren't thinking about Lucy and what could happen if she ever found out about your role in the demise of Abby."
"Rebekah out with it." Elijah says, though its playful.
"We made it official!" She says flashing her hand back and forth.
"Congratulations are in order." Elijah says.
Rebekah looks over to him now. "You're not mad are you Nik?"
He keep his face void of any movement, before a slow smile creeps it's way to his lips. "Not at all. I guess it has been a long time coming."
Rebekah smiles. "It has been in the works for far longer then I'd like to admit. I've loved him for so many lifetimes. We, we just always seemed to not have the right timing." She says pausing. "But this time, it's right. We were always right, we just couldn't get it right."
He reaches over and squeezes her hand. "I'm happy for you Beks, and for the record," He says leaning over. "I couldn't find a better person for Marcel then you."
"Wow." Rebekah says though she's happy and he's happy too.
They don't get a chance to further talk because Marcel walks in with Hope following close behind him.
"I know I'm amazing." Marcel says a big grin on his face.
Hope runs in hops into Rebekah's outstretched arms while Elijah calls upon the wait staff for champagne.
While everything around them is going on he stands to meet Marcel. "I'd say welcome to the family, but you- you've always been family." He says cradling the other mans neck. "From the very beginning I knew you would be apart of this family, and though it's changed to some sort, you will always be my son."
Marcel looks down touched by his words and he does the same. "And you Klaus, will always be my father, the man who taught me how to be a man, and the vampire who taught me how to be a vampire."
Music soon starts to play as Elijah puts on the record player.
He scoops Hope up in his arms places kisses on her cheeks, causing his little girl to giggle.
He twirls his little girl to and fro causing her to laugh harder. "Is this a party?"
"Yes, we're celebrating being the Mikaelsons."

Bonnie
One hour later
"So to clarify things up, that little conversation you had with Cami earlier wasn't," Pause. "You know, wasn't awkward."
I shrugged. "It was fine." I say looking out the window.
"Really because I couldn't imagine how I'd handle myself in that situation." Josh continues. "I mean I know its not none of my business but it is kind of my business because Klaus put me in it and..."
I turn to look at him. "Josh, I don't mean to sound rude but could you possibly get to the point."
Josh rolls chocolate brown eyes. "I'm not one to gossip, but you had to know that Klaus and Cami were kind of tip toeing around each other."
"I couldn't imagine Klaus tip toeing around anything, but I figured they might've had something going on when she approached me."
Josh turns down another road. "From what I gather, nothing ever really came of it."
Now it was my turn to ask questions. "Why?" I ask making eye contact with Josh who is now turning red.
"Um, maybe we should leave the past as the past." Josh stammers.
"Josh!" I say causing him to shut his mouth before opening it again. "You started this conversation, so spill." I say sticking my finger in his side thus causing him to squirm.
"You!" Josh blurts out suddenly. "From the very moment Klaus heard you were in town, it was like find out why she's here, find out how long she's staying." Josh grins. "He's got it bad for you, and judging by the fact that he's blowing my phone up with probably aggressive texts, I need to get you to him before heads roll."
I let his words marinate, as I think back to the beginning of my time here. It only slightly surprises me that Klaus had been asking questions about me once I landed here. But then again if Klaus had rolled into Mystic again, I would've done the same thing. In fact I would've approached him. And now that I think about it, Klaus had done the same thing.
Flashback
The night life in NOLA was something that I had favored much more than the sleepy town of Mystic. Everything and everyone had come alive at night and I was just one of many that was feeling the effects of the retrograde moon.
Lucy and I had gone out to eat for dinner tonight eating tacos at her favorite restaurant and while my cousin was busy with her many admirers I found myself wandering the plaza. Dressed in scarlet cropped long sleeve top and matching long skirt that hugged my curves just right, I found myself drawn to everything around me.
I hadn't been here very long, only a couple of days but I understood why everyone loved this place. It was filled with magic, with strength and so much power. Here, people found beauty where in the smallest places.
Looking back, I see that Lucy is still busy and decide to venture out on my own. Walking through the masses a few people say hello. As magic fills the air, I watch as people are drawn to the show that's being put on. A tarot card reader shuffles her cards. A palm reader entices a young couple into a reading. While on the main stage area someone is playing cover songs and taking request.
It's all so wonderful and reminds me of when Caroline, Matt and I had gone to boardwalk at for the M.F. summer nights festival.
Across from the throng of people, I catch eyes briefly with familiar blue eyes. It's only a second, maybe even less then a second but it makes me smirk.
Walking over to the tarot card reader, I stop in front of her. I've noticed she's blind and her tip jar should be filled with more money. Pulling out some money I place it into her hand.
"Look at you, Bonnie Bennett the savior of all." He says standing next to me. "You're a long way from Mystic." Klaus says in his signature voice.
I turn around to face him, noticing how his eyes light up at the sight of me. A hint of gold shines through the blue, it was something I had never seen and probably was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
"And you've been following me, all night." I say noticing the way his eyes drop down to the top button of my shirt which is unbuttoned. I clear my throat causing him to meet my eyes again, though he's got a hint of a smirk. "Clearly, you're lacking in your usual stalker skills."
Klaus only chuckles as he walks around me, as if he's sniffing me out. I stand straight, vowing not to let him get to me.
"Maybe I wanted you to know I was following you." He says getting closer to my ear. "Maybe I just wanted to get in your head."
Once again I turn around to face him, because lets face it Klaus is crazy, he just doesn't know I'm a bit more crazier. Still though, I never want to turn my back on him.
"Mission unaccomplished." I say causing him to chuckle. "You are the furthest from my mind."
"You're different now, not the scared girl you use to be." He says all the while his eyes keep wandering over my exposed skin. Had this been years ago, I would've shrank away, now I just stood proud in my own skin.
"And you're still the same," My eyes travel over his face. Nothing absolutely nothing had changed about him, still gorgeous blue eyes, same Klaus pout and stubble that lined his face. Oh yeah and he was still every bit as crazy as he had been before. I could see it- it was all in the eyes.
He leans closer, so close his cologne swirls around us."Handsome, powerful, son of gun." He dimples my way.
Before I get a chance to say anything, someone bumps into me causing me to fall into Klaus. Oh goodness what is this, a romantic comedy?
Righting myself I look down to make sure I'm still covered up top. When I try to pull away Klaus has me in a iron grip. "You can let go now."
"Or." He says tightening his grip. "I could keep you here till you answer my questions."
I huff out.
"What are you doing here?"
"Enjoying life."
"How long are you staying?"
"As long as I want."
This time Klaus chuckles and I find myself doing the same. I blame it on how many drinks I had that night because no way, would we be laughing at each other.
Then Klaus does something that throws me, he reaches up and touches my face. "Everything may have changed, but the one thing that remains is you're so defiant."
I bat my eyelashes at him. "I'm told it's one of my best assets." Grin. "Now let me go or I'll set you aflame for the world to see."
Klaus licks his lips and my eyes zero in on it real quick. "And here I thought we were getting somewhere."
He's two seconds before being lit up like a firework before Lucy comes over with some of friends. Everyone is wide eyed at the scene Klaus and I had been putting on. In fact, it was like everyone had been watching we just didn't notice.
I elbow Klaus and soon he lets me go. The second I'm free Lucy grabs my hand and all but yanks me through the crowd. We're almost out of the plaza when I hear a voice that's loud, clear and familiar.
"Always a pleasure Bonnie, we'll be seeing each other soon."
End of flashback
"We're here." Josh says pulling into the estate and pulling me from a memory of my first encounter with Klaus here.
My sudden jolt of jitters must show because Josh is patient enough to let me sit as I realize the weight of this date. It was one thing when me and Klaus were getting down. But, he had invited me to tea with he and his daughter. It broke every single rule I set for myself. But, I couldn't say no to him.
Josh opens the door a smirk on his lips as he looks at me. "Are you planning on getting out of the car soon, or should I carry you to the door?"
I bite my lip. "I just, need a minute." I say.
When our eyes meet it appears that Josh can see right through me. I'm nervous.
Instead of saying anything he reaches for a flask in his jacket. "Here, it might help."
I take the flask and then shake my head giving it back to him. I was Bonnie freaking Bennett, I wasn't going to let anything rattle my nerves.
Stepping out of the car, I fling my hair over my shoulders and make my way over to the door.
I don't get a chance to knock or even ring the door because it swings open revealing a freshly showered Klaus who's wearing a white v neck and a smirk on his lips as he stands in the doorway.
"Took you long enough. Tell me love, what made you take your sweet little time?" He asks blue eyes dancing.
I lean into him. "Does it matter?"
He looks me up and down and licks his lips. "What's in the bag?" He asks blue eyes alight.
I hold up the bag. "It's banana pudding." I say beaming. I didn't cook much, I was more of a baker, as in bake cookies. But this, I could do. "It needs to go in the fridge."
"You make it yourself?" He asks still not letting me in the front door.
"Yes."
"Well then I can't wait to dive in."
The sound of little feet sound behind him and soon he has his daughter at his side. He looks down at Hope before scooping her up in his arms. "We had a deal, you were going to wait till I closed the door and then yell surprise." He says in a mock serious tone.
"But papa, you were taking a long time." Hope says wiggling to get out of his hold.
"Come on," Hope says reaching out to grab my hand and inviting me into the Mikaelson home.
