The party came to an end at midnight, with everyone retreating to their rooms. They were all content with the change of environment, finally experiencing a sense of normalcy where nothing seemed wrong. Luckily, neither Jinx nor Raven had lost control of their powers during the gathering. It was a brief respite, allowing them to feel safe, if only for a little while.
At around 4 in the morning, Raven abruptly woke up in her room, startled by a sudden headache. She quietly grumbled to herself as the pain, which was all too familiar, accompanied a slight nosebleed. However, something else was amiss. Raven opened her eyes, immediately becoming alarmed and calling out, "Jinx!"
Ignoring the throbbing sensation in her head, Raven sprang to her feet and rushed as fast as she could to Jinx's room. Her fear intensified as she opened the door to find Jinx curled up in a corner, crying and desperately clutching her head while repeatedly striking herself.
"Shh..." Raven soothed, attempting to approach her distressed friend. However, Jinx's response was to attack Raven, who managed to shield herself just in time. "Jinx!" Raven called out, undeterred by the severity of the assault.
Despite Jinx's relentless strikes raven kept walking, some of her electric bolts managed to strike her, scorching her in the areas of impact. But Raven paid no mind to her own injuries; her sole focus was reaching Jinx's side. Ignoring the pain, she embraced Jinx tightly, murmuring, "Hey, Jinx. Look at me—it's Raven."
Jinx's trembling began to subside as she opened her eyes, trying to make sense of the situation. Her gaze met Raven's, and a flicker of recognition and relief crossed her face.
"Rae? What... what happened?" Jinx asked, her voice shaky and filled with vulnerability.
Raven gently wiped away the tears from Jinx's face, her own injuries momentarily forgotten. She held Jinx's face in her hands, looking into her eyes with unwavering support.
"it's going to be okay," Raven assured Jinx, her voice filled with sincerity.
"No, seriously, what happened?" Jinx demanded again, her tone commanding. "What happened?"
"I don't know. Do you recall anything? Nightmares perhaps?" Raven asked, concern lacing her words.
"Yeah, I was having trouble sleeping, and..." Jinx trailed off, her gaze shifting to Raven's injured body. "What happened to you? Did I do that? Damn," Jinx cursed, regret etched on her face. "I was just having the weirdest dream—guns pointed at me, pistols, rifles, all that shit. I thought I was fighting them."
"That's why it's crucial for you to regain control of your mind," Raven emphasized gently.
"I know, I know. Are you sure you're okay?" Jinx inquired, her worry evident.
"Yes, let's just focus on you. Let's get you back to bed," Raven suggested, steering the conversation away from her own injuries.
"I guess you're right, but let me see," Jinx insisted, attempting to examine Raven's wounds.
"It's fine," Raven backed off, a faint blush coloring her cheeks as she averted her gaze. "Come on, let me help," Jinx urged, closing the distance between them. Raven blushed even deeper, looking away from Jinx. "Hey, let me see, Dark Bird. I'm sorry, okay? Don't be mad at me," Jinx apologized, mistakenly assuming Raven's discomfort was due to her failure to meditate. "I will learn to meditate."
"Jinx," Raven began, gently grasping Jinx's hand to prevent her from touching her own burned hand. Raven remained composed as she spoke, "Listen to me, please. I need you to give me that gem."
"Oh my God, Raven, we've been through this over and over and over," Jinx complained. "I'll meditate, I'll control whatever you want me to. What else do you want from me? And look me in the eye! I'm not giving you anything."
"You don't deserve this," Raven stated firmly.
"And you do?" Jinx retorted.
"Yes," Raven reaffirmed, her voice resolute.
"Why? Because you have the misfortune of being born? Why are we fighting about this again?" Jinx questioned, frustration evident in her tone.
"Because..." Raven paused, taking a moment to collect her thoughts. "Because I hate seeing you in pain. I can't bear it. I don't want you to have to fight this! You..." At that moment, the rest of the Titans rushed into the room, concern etched on their faces. Jinx stood in silence, her eyes fixed on Raven, her heart touched by the emotional display.
"You are the most amazing person I have ever known. You're sweet and fun!" As Raven's emotions intensified, objects in the room began to explode, crackling with dark energy. The Titans instinctively took a step back, giving Raven and Jinx some space.
Jinx reached out and held Raven's hand, her touch grounding and calming. "Hey, Rae, calm down, will you? The only one hurt in this room is you and a few lamps. I'm happy to have all this power, now I just have to learn how to control it. Unfortunately, you're stuck with me."
Raven's trembling voice continued, filled with both fear and affection. "You're sincere, independent, strong, and truly original. and I can't bear to see you suffer."
The room fell into a hushed silence as Raven's outburst subsided, The Titans exchanged glances, fully comprehending the depth of Raven's feelings for Jinx and the gravity of the situation.
"Oh..." Jinx exclaimed, caught off guard and struggling to find the right words. Before she could respond, Raven sensed the impending rejection and swiftly transformed herself into a dark shadow, disappearing from the room. Jinx was left standing there, a mix of sadness and confusion enveloping her. She turned to the others as Starfire and Bumblebee entered the room.
"What happened?" Bumblebee asked, concern evident in her voice.
Jinx's sadness was palpable as she recounted the events. "I was having a nightmare, and I don't know how Raven knew. She came into the room, and I... I attacked her. Then, when I tried to see her injuries, she asked me to give her the gem. And then you all came in."
Starfire and Bumblebee exchanged glances
"I wasn't going to reject her, you know?" Jinx told them, her voice filled with sincerity. She could sense their understanding as they began to explain the depth of Raven's feelings for her. Jinx stared at them, her expression a mixture of frustration and vulnerability. "Oh, come on. We're not kids, and I'm not stupid, i know how she feels... It's just..."
"You don't know how YOU feel," Starfire finished her sentence, earning a nod from Jinx.
"I don't. I mean, I do like her. She's smoking hot, and I really don't mind the whole 'gay' issue," Jinx blurted out, causing the boys to blush simultaneously. "But... there's no 'but.' She's perfect. She's evil, beautiful, crazy, and I really don't want her to suffer."
Bumblebee leaned in, her voice gentle yet firm. "Maybe you shouldn't be telling these things to us, Jinx. we've worked together and studied together. I've seen you dating Kid Flash, and you weren't even half as happy as I can see when you're with Raven.
"And Raven is beyond happy. I can see it in her face. She is really in love with you," Robin stated, his tone sincere. "I know Raven, and I've seen the positive impact you've had on her."
"Yeah, what you did for her, man," Cyborg chimed in, clearly impressed. "I don't think even we could have made such a selfish sacrifice."
Jinx's eyes widened at Cyborg's words, realizing the extent of her actions and the impact they had on Raven. She couldn't deny the depth of her feelings any longer.
"I need to see if she's okay... she was injured," Jinx declared, determination shining in her eyes. She stood up and made her way to Raven's room, desperately hoping that Raven hadn't already left the tower
"Rae?" Jinx called out, her voice filled with a mix of desperation and longing. There was no immediate response, causing Jinx's heart to sink. But she couldn't give up. She took a deep breath and decided to try a different approach. With a hint of deceit in her voice, she faked a plea for help. "Rae, I'm having a terrible headache. Please, help me take this thing off me."
Raven openend the door to see jinx´s lie.
"I'm not in the mood for games, Jinx. Look, I'm sorry. I didn't think before I spoke. It was childish and stupid, and..." Raven's words were cut off as Jinx silenced her with a fiery, passionate kiss. Time seemed to stand still as their lips met, expressing all the unspoken emotions and desires that had built up between them.
Raven's initial surprise quickly melted away, and she responded to Jinx's kiss with equal fervor. The intensity of the moment washed over them, filling the air with a mix of vulnerability and longing. They broke apart, their breaths heavy, their eyes locked.
Jinx was the first to speak, her voice filled with a mix of vulnerability and determination. "I want you to understand something," she began, locking eyes with Raven. "I am not a good girl. I still think stealing is so much easier, and being a hero sometimes makes me sick. But I need you to promise me something. Promise me that you'll never, ever ask me for this," she pointed at her fashion stone, "ever again. Understood?"
Raven's heart clenched at Jinx's words. She realized the weight of her request and how it reflected Jinx's internal struggles. After a moment of silence, Raven nodded, her eyes filled with resignation and acceptance.
"Okay," Raven finally replied. "I promise. I won't ask you for the stone again."
A small, mischievous smile tugged at the corner of Jinx's lips. "Good. Now, I'm really sleepy, and I really want to go to bed."
Raven felt a mix of emotions, wanting to offer her support and be there for Jinx. "I'll walk you to your room," she offered politely.
Jinx shook her head, her smile widening. "Heck no. I'm sleeping here. You have a responsibility now," she declared, playfully claiming Raven's room as her own.
Raven's surprise was evident on her face, but she couldn't help but smile back at Jinx's boldness. She realized that this was a step towards a deeper connection and trust between them.
"Alright," Raven agreed, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Make yourself at home then."
Jinx chuckled and settled into the room, feeling a sense of belonging she hadn't experienced before.
