Chapter 4: Gabrielle Delacour
Author's Note: Gabrielle Delacour would be the same age as Harry and would speak better English than her older sister Fleur in my one-shots of her and Harry.
Harry was sitting by himself at Bill and Fleur's wedding reception normally he would be having good time with everyone but was upset that Ron and Hermione wanted to stay for the wedding when he wanted to leave early so that he could destroy Voldemort's Horcruxes and defeat him quickly as possible. He was also irritated of his ex-girlfriend Ginny giving every girl including Hermione that wanted to dance with him dirty looks as if she was going to use her famous bat bogey hex on them. While she is having fun talking to and flirting with other guys like Rodger Davies former Ravenclaw Quidditch team captain and Fleur's Yule Ball date. He doesn't know why Ginny was acting like this just because they broke up that does not mean that they can't see other people. He guesses Ginny is not as nice she always claims to be. Not in the mood to stay any longer, Harry gets up and walks out but bumps into Gabrielle Delacour Fleur's younger sister the girl he saved along with Ron in the second task of the Triwizard Tournament three years ago.
"Oh Hey Harry" Gabrielle said
"Hi Gabrielle" Harry said
"How are you doing?" Gabrielle asked
"I'm fine" Harry said then asks, "What about you"
"I'm good I just came from the bathroom and going back to the party" she said then asks, "where are you headed off to?"
"I'm just going back inside the house I'm really not in the mood to dance" Harry said
"Why not?" Gabrielle asked.
"If you take a look at my ex-girlfriend Ginny you will see why" Harry replied as they look at Ginny who is flirting and dancing with one of Viktor Krum's Quidditch Teammates.
"Oh, okay it seems that She-devil likes the rules for thee and not me" Gabrielle said
"Yeah, she does but I don't want to dwell on that any longer" Harry said walking away
"Wait" Gabrielle said as Harry turned around
"What is it Gabrielle?" Harry asked
"Would you mind if I kept you company Harry" Gabrielle replied
"Sure why not" Harry said
Harry and Gabrielle went back to the Burrow sat on the couch and talked for fifteen minutes about everything from Harry's life before Hogwarts be Gabrielle couldn't believe how much abuse that Harry went through in those ten years from his relatives and kept going, most people would have turn into a homicidal maniac like Voldemort but he didn't. Harry got to know about Gabrielle as well. She told Harry how it was difficult in Beauxbatons to find a significant other and make friends due to her Veela traits which made all the girls jealous and the guys was always seeing her as a prize to be won much like Harry who had to deal with all the fangirls at Hogwarts who saw him like a prize to be won as well.
"Thanks Gabrielle I feel a lot lighter talking to you" Harry said gratefully
"Your welcome I'm surprised that you're not affected by my veela-allure" Gabrielle smiled
"Well, I like personality more than looks" Harry said trying not to brag
"I guess that's what people like about like you Harry" Gabrielle said "You like what's inside rather than what's on the outside and I like that too"
"I thought Ginny was the same way, but you know the old saying a Leopard never changes its spots" Harry said
"Yep, she only likes you for your fame and not for who you are" Gabrielle said then asks "Do you want to go back and have some cake? I think they're serving the wedding cake right about now."
"Okay sure I could go for some cake right about now" Harry said
Harry and Gabrielle get up from the couch and return to the Wedding Reception to get some cake as they were about to be served their portion, a Lynx Patronus appeared and dimmed all the lights and Kingsley Shacklebolt's voice came out of the Lynx and said that the Ministry of Magic was taken over by the Death Eaters and Rufus Scrimgeour was killed just moments ago. Just then the Death Eaters flew in and the Wedding Reception turned into chaos as everyone tries to escape from Voldemort's followers. Harry pulls out his wand and hits two Death Eaters with some stunning spells then get on a table shouts for Ron and Hermione they come as they were about to apperate a Death Eater spots Harry, pulls off sleeve and show off his dark mark points his wand on it causing Harry's scar to burn this signals more Death Eater to come but Harry heard a loud bang as Gabrielle lowered her wand and he sees the Death Eater on the floor unconscious. Harry was impressed that Gabrielle wasn't just a pretty face and that she could hold her own.
/Scene Break/
As the horcrux hunt went on, Harry couldn't help but think about Gabrielle. Was she safe? Did she make it out of the wedding reception? All these questions were racing in his head which makes it clear that he starting to have feelings for the Beauxbatons Student. Harry, Hermione, and Ron make it to Shell Cottage after escaping The Malfoy Manor along with Dobby, Dean Thomas, Luna Lovegood, Griphook, and Mr. Ollivander. When they enter the Weasley Family summer home Gabrielle ran up to Harry and gave him the biggest hug he ever received. Like Harry, Gabrielle was worried about Harry when he left the wedding reception nine months earlier and was staying with Fleur and Bill at Shell Cottage.
"I missed you Harry" Gabrielle said as tears starting to fall down her cheeks.
"So, did I Gabby" Harry said returning the hug.
"Harry where did you, Hermione and Ron go after the wedding reception went into complete chaos?" Gabrielle asked breaking off from the hug
"Well, we have been hunting- I talk to you about it later" Harry said not wanting Gabrielle involved at what he and friends are doing.
"Okay Harry" Gabrielle nodded
Harry, Hermione, and Ron decide to stay at Shell Cottage for a few days. After dinner, Harry, Ron, and Hermione go up to Griphook's room to talk about the Horcrux being at Gringotts in Bellatrix Lestrange's Vault after a debated conversation the goblin agreed to help them but in exchange for The Sword of Gryffindor since it was made by Griphook's Ancestors. They also talk to Olivander about the Deathly Hallows and Voldemort has the Elder Wand. Sometime later Harry brings Gabrielle up to speed on what he and friends were doing these nine months Gabriele was shocked of Voldemort going to extreme lengths to perverse nature.
/Scene Break/
Three days later as Harry, Ron, Hermione and Griphook said their final goodbyes to Dean and Luna as they go back to Hogwarts. Gabrielle runs out of the cottage before the golden trio and the former Gringotts Employee were about to apperate to Gringotts.
"Wait Harry!" Gabrielle shouted
Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Griphook turned and look at Gabrielle who was running up to them "What's wrong Gabby" Harry asked
"You're leaving so soon"
"Yeah, were about to leave what's the matter?"
"Nothing it's just umm... I want to say good luck Harry" Gabrielle said as she gives Harry one last hug and then tells him "Please come back alive." She pleaded.
"I will Gabby don't worry I'll see you later okay" Harry assured her.
"Come on Potter enough lollygagging" Griphook said.
"Okay" Harry nodded as he rejoined Hermione, Ron, and Griphook apperating away.
/Scene Break/
After the Battle of Hogwarts, in which Harry and the others emerged victorious. While everyone was in the Great Hall celebrating Harry retreats to the Gryffindor Common for some peace and quiet. As he was sitting on the couch looking at the fireplace, he heard somebody "Harry are you there?" he recognized the voice, and it was Gabrielle, she joined the Order of the Phoenix to fight alongside her Sister and the others.
"I'm in here Gabby." Harry calling her over
Gabrielle sits down next to Harry and asks, "It's finally over huh?"
"Yep, it is. It's all over now" Harry said unhappily.
"You sound depressed about it." Gabrielle said
"I know" Harry answered, "It's just that so many people died, and for some people that did survive their lives are ruined because of me like Cedric, Fred, Tonks, Lavender, Snape and many more."
"But they didn't all die in vain Harry" She said "You won and now it's time to heal"
"I don't know if I can Gabby, their deaths are my fault" Harry said depressingly
Gabrielle grabs on Harry's hand and assures him "Of course, you can everyone can it just takes some time. You have your friends who care about you like Ron, Hermione, and me Harry we all in this together and don't start blaming yourself"
Harry nodded in an agreement and said, "You're right Gabby I shouldn't be like this."
"Like I said we are all in this together. You are not alone" Gabrielle told him
"Yeah, I know and thank you" Harry said
"Your welcome Harry" Gabrielle said she then asks, "Do you want come downstairs for the celebration?"
"Not really I don't want to deal with Ginny right now." Harry said
"Oh okay" Gabrielle nodded she then angrily asks "How come that She-devil looked unscathed while the rest of us have cuts and bruises?"
"Well before the battle even started Ron, Hermione and I were looking for the last Horcrux which was The Lost Diadem Crown of Rowena Ravenclaw and my 1st Ex-Girlfriend Cho Chang offered to help us find it, but Ginny was being a jealous and insecure bitch, insists that Luna helps us instead of Cho. I didn't tolerate that, I told Cho that she could help me, and Ginny got angry at that and I stunned her." Harry told Gabrielle "The last time I saw her, she was with Hermione and Luna battling Bellatrix Lestrange luckily Neville was there and ended the Dark witch's life."
"I wasn't surprised at that she-devil was acting like a spoiled brat but still she wouldn't even let your 1st. Ex-Girlfriend to help you. Despite her wanting to make amends with you after that fiasco you two had in your fifth year" Gabrielle said
"Yeah, I wasn't surprised at that neither. Ginny is always jealous of every girl that comes anywhere near me and I seriously can't go for that in the future." Harry said.
"I see, she probably finds someone else to date or something" Gabrielle said, "So what are you going to do after all of this?" she asks
"I know that there is going to be a lot of trials, funerals, and a lot of rounding up of what remains of Voldemort's army of Sycophants" Harry replied "What I'm going to do is to travel around the world and my first stop is France"
"Wow that's amazing Harry you're going to have a good time trust me" Gabrielle said
"Thanks, I was wondering if you can come with me and show me around" Harry asked
"Sure, I would love to show you around France and the first city we can go to is Paris how's that sound." Gabrielle said with a smile.
"Yeah, that sounds great Gabby" Harry said smiling back.
"Hopefully, mama she-devil can let you go somewhere other than Hogwarts" Gabrielle said, "Fleur told all about how the Weasley Matriarch gets when she is angry."
"Don't worry about that Gabby sooner or later Mrs. Weasley is going to have to deal with me not being cooped up in the Burrow all summer and not dating her daughter again." Harry assures her.
Gabrielle smiled and held Harry's hand which made him smile back at her they spend the rest of the day sitting on the couch. Harry was happy at the thought of exploring France with Gabrielle. He wanted to tell her how he feels about her, but it would kill the mood and he remembers listening to Mariah Carey and in one of her songs she said it takes time to get know one's potential lover. Right now, all Harry could do is wait for what Gabrielle has in store.
