Chapter 7: Katie Bell

After a grueling quidditch practice session for this season of 1996-1997 the Gryffindor Quidditch team step into the changing room. Ron is happy that he keeps his Position as Keeper while Ginny is Chaser followed by Katie and a newcomer Demelza Robins. Also, Ritche Coote and Jimmy Peakes are the new beaters that replaced Andrew Kirke and Jack Sloper. In addition, Cormac McLaggen is the reserve Keeper and Dean Thomas is the reserve Chaser.

As Harry is about to leave the changing room with Ron, he heard someone in the changing room crying he goes back in and finds Katie all by herself sitting down on the bench crying her eyes out.

"Katie?" Harry said

Katie stops crying, sees Harry coming to sit next to her on the bench and says, "Hey Harry"

"Is everything okay with you?" Harry asked

"No not really, I found out that my grandpa died yesterday." Katie replied as her tears flowed down her cheeks.

"Do you need someone to hold on to?" Harry offered.

Katie replied, "Yes, Harry I do need someone to hold now. "As Harry wrapped his arms around her waist, and she put her head on his shoulder.

Both Harry and Katie stayed in the Quidditch locker room for a bit and talked until it time to their separate ways. Upon returning to Ron and Hermione he started having feelings for Katie suddenly. The same goes for Katie who has feelings for Harry as she hangs out with Leanne and Natalie.

/Scene Break/

A week later, after the quidditch match against Slytherin Harry receives a letter from Katie who is currently in St. Mungo's. After she touched the cursed opal necklace that he saw at Borgin and Bruke's in Knockturn Alley three months ago. He gives Hedwig a dead mouse to eat then reads the letter,

Dear Harry,

Congratulations on beating Slytherin in quidditch last week. I wish I was there seeing the look on every single Slytherin's face as you caught the snitch effortlessly out of the sky. If only I hadn't touched that necklace but whatever. Is it true that you poured some liquid into Ron's orange juice? Enhancing his quidditch skills because Hermione wrote to me saying that you did that. She sounded angry in her letter to me. I hope nothing happens between you three because something like that. You always tell me that guys go through a lot together. Anyway, I have great news. I'm going put you on the visiting list for you to see me at Christmas. As well as leaving in April just in time to take my NEWTs and play for the Quidditch final.

P. S Please for Merlin's sake don't get into trouble with Malfoy again I know he is a giant arsehole but don't let his snarky comments about your mum, Hermione, and your godfather get to you.

He chuckled a bit as his excitement grew as he waited for Christmas holiday to come as well as April too. Later that night he began writing his own letter to Katie thanking her for putting him on the visiting list for Christmas.

The next day in St. Mungo's Katie puts Harry's name to the visitor's list for Christmas as she came back into her room, Hedwig Harry's snowy owl flies in and gives her Harry's letter. The senior Gryffindor's heart fluttered as it reads.
Dear Katie,

You're bloody damn right we didn't win we Crushed Slytherin that game. I didn't put anything in Ron's orange juice to make him play well, that is a lie. Don't worry about Hermione being angry, she is just jealous of Ron dating Lavender, those two kissed after the game. Thanks for putting me on the visiting list, I can't wait to see you again Katie.

P.S You know I can't keep a promise to save my life especially dealing with Malfoy of all people.

It was Christmas time, Katie waited patiently for Harry to come visit her and behold Harry comes into her room with Alastor Mad-eye Moody and Remus Lupin who both took the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor in her fourth year and her fifth year. In her opinion both were a lot better than the one she had last year and the one currently that being Umbridge and Snape.

Katie gets up from her bed and runs over to Harry and gives him a big hug just as much as ones from Molly, Ginny, and Hermione. She mutters into his ear, "I missed you, Harry."

"I'm missed you too Katie." Harry said he stops hugging Katie and said "I brought you some flowers and a white teddy bear as well as some candy.

"Oh Harry that is so sweet of you" Katie said as Harry hands her the flowers, teddy bear and box of chocolate.

"It's nothing really but you're welcome." Harry said.

Katie smiled at what Harry said, she was about to respond but Moody places his hand on Harry's shoulder and tells him it's time to go.

"But Mr. Moody and Mr. Lupin Harry just got here." Katie Protested

"I know miss Bell, but we must go right now. you'll see Harry back at Hogwarts." Remus assured her.

"Okay." Katie sighed.

"I'll see you later Katie." Harry said.

"Okay Harry bye and don't forget to write to me." Katie said as Harry, Remus, and Mad-eye Moody left Saint Mungo's.

/Scene Break/
Four months later, after getting the go ahead to leave the hospital wing after taking a bludger to the head in the game against Hufflepuff which they lost 360-60. Harry goes to the owlery receives another letter from Katie, and it reads,

Dear Harry,
Thank goodness you are ok Harry, I'm so glad that you and Ron recovered quickly at the Hospital Wing. When I see McLaggen I'm going to hex him to oblivion to try to be the captain of the team when he is not. I'm sorry about Ron and his relationship with Lavender ending like that. Everyone had a bad first relationship but whatever oh yeah there was I wanted to tell you when came into St. Mungo before Mad-eye Moody took you away. We'll both talk about it later next month on the fifteenth.

Harry smiled, he remembered he wanted to tell Katie how he felt about her before Mad-eye Moody told him they had to get him back to the Burrow. A few hours later, he gets back into the common room and writes another letter to Katie.

Back at St. Mungo's as Katie finishes the last of her Charms homework, Hedwig taps on her window, she opens it letting Hedwig in then reads the letter.

Dear Katie,
Thanks for your concern, Katie Ron and I survived worse no need to hex McLaggen because Ginny took care of with her famous bat-bogey hex. Yeah, that relationship that Ron had Lavender wasn't going to last anyway. I there was something I wanted to tell you before I got karted off by Moody and Remus is that I like you, Katie Bell. You always supported me during the quidditch drills, as well as being the few people that didn't believe I was the Heir of Slytherin in my second year. Also, you didn't wear those Potter stinks badge nor did you believe that I wasn't some attention-seeking twat that disgusting roach has written about me.

Once again, her heart fluttered after reading that last sentence, she always liked Harry for him not as the chosen one. She wanted to say that she too has feelings for him when he was in St. Mungo's before Moody and Lupin took him away.

/Scene Break/

It was April 15 at lunchtime Harry, Hermione, and Ron were in the great hall eating until they heard a voice calling Harry. Behind them it was Katie she ran over to Harry and gave him the biggest hug she says, "I missed you, Harry."

"I missed you too Katie." Harry said.

Katie breaks off the hug and then hugs Ron and Hermione as well as Ginny and Demelza come to see Katie. As Katie was talking about her time in St. Mungo's, Harry spots Malfoy walking into the Great Hall and chases him to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.

An hour later Harry comes into the Gryffindor common room after cutting Malfoy with the Sectumsempra curse he learned from the old Potions book he months prior. He sees Katie, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny sitting down on the couch disappointed at Harry for what he did to the Malfoy Scion. Katie walks up to Harry and scolds him, "Harry what did you do to Malfoy? he was sent to the Hospital Wing."

"What he tried kill me" Harry responded

"Not only that you can't play quidditch again." Ron chimed in.

"I know but you guys won without me before." Harry said

"Yeah, that's true." Ron and Katie said in unison.

"Exactly uh Ginny you'll take my place as seeker again." Harry said to Ginny.

"Sure Harry." Ginny said as she leaves the common room

"What's wrong with her?" Harry asked

"Her and Dean just broke up." Ron replied.

/Scene Break/

After severing his detention with Snape Harry returns to the common room and finds everyone celebrating their victory against Ravenclaw. Ron goes up to Harry and shouts, "WE DID IT MATE WE WON AGAIN 450-140!"

In his excitement he hugged everyone then kissed Katie passionately everyone was shocked at what he did but cheered for the two Gryffindors as they continued to kiss each other. Except for Romilda who threw her glass of butterbeer on to the ground in a fit of jealousy and rage and retreated to her dormitory in tears. Harry and Katie break off from the kiss and exit the common room and go sit by the black lake.

"Wow Harry when did you learn how to kiss like?" Katie asked

"I don't know I guess I learned my mistakes from last relationship." Harry answered

"I think you did as well." Katie said

"Thanks" Harry said then asks, "Katie do you want to be my Girlfriend?"

"Of course I want to be your Girlfriend Harry Potter." Katie said then kisses Harry passionately.
