This filler chapter is going over all the ships mentioned in the last chapter/s in more detail.

(found out don't allow images so your going to have to look them up yourselves)

(also a few of the ships fates in story are left out to avoid spoilers outside of they are involved in something woth the plot)

first off the SS Untied States

ordered in 1949 and completed 2 years later the ship took the blue riband (fastest Atlantic crossing) from RMS Queen Mary and still holds it to this day also she's the fastest ship over 10000 tons she cost around $644 million in today's money and was in service until 1969 and since then has been laid up (docked and not moved) in Philadelphia changing hands alot in real life she is right now slowly under going repair work to become a museum ship.

in this story her fate is being bought by miles in 1989 and mid repairs is converted to be the headquarters for the vigilante group due to her top speed of 38 knots and her size and is renamed SS Blue Ribbon. (38 knots was her service speed was the ship could go faster but it never went up to that speed and a law was made that she could never ever go at her top speed which is estimated at around the mid 40 knots or around 50 to 52 MPH)

shortly after the events of the story she would be put back into passenger service as an ocean liner looking cruise ship until being turned into a museum in and around 2045.


next up is the Untied States 'older sister' SS America

SS America had a more interesting service life being completed in 1940 she only had a year of passenger service before the US entered ww2 where she was used as a troopship after the war she went back into passenger service and left service in 1979 (under different owners one of them being chandris line (revlent for lower down) and a different name) and was abandoned till 1993 when she was bought to be turned into a hotel but on the way in 1994 the tow ropes broke and the ship ran aground and split in 2 famous pictures of the bow are on the internet just look up SS American Star Shipwreak

in the story her fate is Sirius tried to buy it in 1990 as a gift to miles but he was outbid by who he intended the gift for and then repaired into passenger service and used for south American cruise/rainforest experience under the name of SS Equator more of the fate revealed later in story.


I next chose to put the last of the American ships here SS Independence

SS Independence

built in 1951 the ship spent her entire life on Hawaiian cruises and after being pulled form service in 2001 was sold many times till finally in 2011 being scrapped. (editing A/N i was dead wrong the ship only spent the last 20 years of her career in Hawaii she was actually a Trans Pacific Ocean liner operating from new york to japan with a Hawaiian stopover)

story fate is Sirius bought this ship as a gift for miles after being out bid by him on the America it was refit for around the world cruises and renamed SS Independent traveler and it on it first cruise when dumbledore strikes being badly damaged she would spend a year out of service then be put back to work being in service until the 2060's when it became a hotel ship.


next is SS Cranberra the only (originally) British ship here

SS cranberra was completed in 1961 and was a ocean liner/cruise ship for PO she would be used in the 1971 James bond move diamonds are forever and in 1982 was a troopship in a Falklands war where due to her all white hull she was confused as being a hospital ship and so was undamaged dispite being right up close to the fighting she would be sold for scrap in 1997 and have a song wrote for it's final voyage.

story fate bought by miles in early 1991 refit for artic/Antarctica cruises renamed SS Antarctica in service till 2019 when it became trapped in ice and sank 2 weeks later taking all of people on board with her due to difficult to rescue people from Antarctica and no saltilite cover for the radios.


next is MS Stockholm (now known as MS Astoria)

and was built in 1946 and was a trans Atlantic liner until 1960 when she was used for cruising during her time in the Atlantic in 1956 she collided with the Italian SS Andrea Doria, Stockholm was fine for a ship that had hit another one yeah she almost sank but she made it to port and she needed a new bow meanwhile the Doria sank.

in 1991 she was put into refit in Italy and given her current real life look during that time being nicknamed the ship of death for the mentioned above accident.

As of 2022 she is still in service although up for sale due to her old owners going bankrupt due to COVID

editing A/N update in January 2023 astrora was almost scrapped and is as of now still layed up for sale for further use as a cruise ship

update again june 2023 there is rumours that some rich guy with a love of ocean liners might be saving the ship.

in story she was bought just before her 1991 refit by miles renamed SS Sonic and due to already having an near ice breaker bow also used on Antarctic routes and would be still in service by the time all human characters in the story die (so long in her 2nd century of service)


next is SS France originally form France she would be the pride of the nation from her being built in 1961 she was the longest passenger ship until 2006 and was sold to Norwegian cruise line (NCL) renamed SS Norway and having an ugly (but compared to others *looks above at Stockholm* not bad) refit in 1990/1 and scrapped in 2007 after a fire.

story fate bought by miles in 1989 renamed SS Miles Prower (after tails from sonic the same place where i got miles's name in the first place) she would be used in Caribbean cruises with her refit to be more cruise like but not look like shit (so basically her original look) and until 1996 would serve this route fate to be revealed later.


Aleksandr Pushkin

built in the Soviet Union in 1965 was sold in 1991 to orient lines and renamed marco polo and would later serve as a cruise ship with the same company as the Astoria had operated in until in 2020 COVID bankrupted the company and Marco polo was scrapped a year later after a failed attempt to makr her a hotel.

in story fate bought by miles out biding orient lines mamed it SS Malta it was used for Mediterranean cruises until hitting a left over mine from WW2 and sinking with no loss of life in 2002.


now we move on to The ships added that made me move this filler chapter.

MS Victoria

MS victora's story IRL starts in 1936 when she was finished being built and entered service between Britian and South Africa being called the Dunnottar Castle but then that changed when some.mad austrian painter invaded poland amd between 1939 and 1942 she was an armed merchant cruiser then as a troopship until she as returned to her old owners and went back to her old job in 1958 she would be sold and refit into a cruise ship giving yhe victoria name and sailed around the Caribbean until 1975 when she was bought by chandris line and used for cruises around Europe and the US east coast and in 1993 she would be sold again to her last owners having another 11 years of life left. she would be scarped in 2004.

in this story her sale would happen in mid 1992 and it would be bought by miles who in a change of pace for yhe ship's life used her for Pacific cruising amd she would leep her name and she would end her days being a private yacht for Harry in his retirement days and with the wizard lifespan (Harry having a longer than normal one even by that standard) the ship would stay in this role until Harry's death in 2101 and would like the cloak be hamded down the family line surviving to at least 2777


SS Galileo Galilei

SS Galileo Galilei (also know later in life as Galileo and then Sun Vista) was originally an immigrant liner operating between italy and Australia and being owned by Lloyd Triestino the ship would sail on this route with her sister ship (mentioned below) until the oil crisis made the shipping line refit the ship for cruising in 1977/8 sailing for only a year she would be laid up in 1979.

in 1983 the ship would be bought by the aforementioned chandris line who would operate her until in 1988 she was again refit and was then given to the newly formed and then chandris subsidiary celebrity cruse lines (still around today) as their first ship but in 1991 she was sold to sun cruises and then cought fire and sank that same year.

in this story her fate is that in 1991 the fire didn't sink the ship but damaged her and was almost scrapped but miles stepped in and repaired the ship it has since been operating in the Carribbean until it went into a curtain triangle in the sea in 1997.


SS Guglielmo Marconi was Galileo's younger sister who had the same early life but was not converted into a cruise ship until 1983/5 amd then sailed woth costa lines (yes that costa with the coward captain) qmd name Costa Riviera sailing until 2001 when she was scrapped.

story fate bought by miles in 1992 and would be scrapped in 2138.


the last ship of this update is one that I would say is my favourite amd it is the...

SS Nieuw Amsterdam (1937)

Nieuw Amsterdam the "Darling of the Dutch" was a Dutch ocean liner built between 1936-7 and had her maiden trans Atlantic crossing in may 1938 and was ahead of her time in that she was also made for cruising in winter months and she was the only inter war ocean liner built without the intention of being used in war (as a troopship or AMC) amd was lucky when in early 1940 when Germany invaded the Netherlands she had just started that years cruises amd so just stayed a cruise ship until 1942 when the USA entered the war then she was tuned into what she was never ment to be a troopship and she has the record of most distance covered by a troopship in world war 2 refit after the war she carried on her job being one of the very very few (like only one or 2 succeed) ocean liners to give the middle finger to aircraft taking over her Transatlantic crossing and win only going to full time cruising in 1971 (after surviving a large fire) but her age finally chought up with her in the form of she used up all remaining engines that she could use and not cost too much money to replace them and was scrapped in 1974/5.

in the story as if by fate one of Miles's grandfathers was in need of a "floating manor house just incase of a mad dark lord trying to kill my family" after world war 2 and so had bought Nieuw Amsterdam although he leased it to the shipping line who owned it was laid up from 1974 until miles found out about it in 1991 mid audit (almost got him in trouble) and was brought back to active service where in the end because of miles is flooding of old ocean liners as cruise ships it didn't do well and so was in the end just used for the reason that the Prower family had it for used as a floating house for them miles using it for him and his family and would still be in use by the time earth finally gave up on life but even then she lived as somehow the prowwr family do a space battleship Yamato and made it a spacecraft. (it's my fanfic i can make the rules).


that's it and with more of the story out then when i originally did this there are more ships but i would only mention them later in more edits to this filler chapter
