A/N: Another chapter for ya.
All ten of them found themselves ordered to the base infirmary for mandatory testing.
As they rounded the corner, Jack found his step slowing. He never liked visiting Fraiser's domain, even though half the time he was too deep in some form of shock to care. He watched as the alternate SG-1 entered the double doors, but he stopped just shy of actually entering the infirmary.
A moment later, he heard Fraiser's voice.
"Colonel? What are you doing back here?"
He could practically hear her looking them up and down.
"Well, nobody looks like they're about to collapse, no blood or dangling limbs. What is it this time? Some incurable alien virus? A hallucinogenic implant? One of you is possessed again?"
"No, nothing like that Janet, it's just, um..." Daniel faltered, unsure how to explain.
Jack decided that was his cue. He gestured for his team to follow him as he walked into the infirmary, standing behind the other SG-1.
Janet looked at them, slightly bewildered.
"Nothing surprises me anymore," she sighed wearily. "Two of you to a bed." She turned to O'Neill. "Don't touch anything."
She looked behind him. "Both of you."
"Wouldn't dream of it, Doc," he said, giving an involuntary shiver.

"So, what do you think I should do, uh- Dr. Jackson?" MacGyver sat across from his SG-1's archeologist a few beds down.
"First off, call me Daniel. Second, there's really only one thing you can do, and that's wait."
"Okay... Daniel. How will waiting help anything?"
"It'll tell you for sure if your double is dead or not."
"The entropic cascade thing."
"Yeah. Sam could tell you more about that, but I know if it starts for you then the other MacGyver is still alive somewhere."
All six of them had undergone several rounds of testing to make sure they were in good health after their little jaunt through space-time. To MacGyver, the number of tests seemed odd, but Daniel didn't seem fazed at all.
Just then, a nurse approached them.
"You're both good to go." He said with a smile.
Daniel hopped up and started to walk away, his escort hurrying after him.
"See ya later!" MacGyver called as he slipped his jacket back on. After his long shower, Colonel O'Neill had loaned him some casual clothes to wear around the base since he didn't have anything else. Surprisingly, the clothing fit perfectly. However, MacGyver would not be losing his best leather jacket anytime soon. He checked the contents of his pockets; his knife, a small ball of twine, a bottle cap, and a flattened roll of duct tape. The usual.

"It'll never work." Major Carter said, dropping her chalk in the tray for dramatic effect.
Colonel Carter nodded. "You're right. But why?"
She sighed and rubbed her temples. "This is confusing." She admitted.
"Tell me about it." Colonel Carter said with a smile. "We need to know the why, Sam. Why won't it work?"
"Because it just won't!" Major Carter said, exasperated.
"C'mon. I know you're trying to figure it out too. I'm just your inner voice being expressed in person form."
Major Carter laid her head on the table with a sigh.
"I know. Let's run it again."
o-O-o-O-o
It took two days for the first signs of entropic cascade failure to set in on the odd bunch of travelers.
Predictably, it was Jack Dalton who experienced the effects first. Though everyone else was surprised, the Carters were unfazed. It turns out, Dalton's double was a hardened criminal who was currently serving time in a maximum security prison.
MacGyver only raised his eyebrows at that. "Guess he didn't have the happy-go-lucky streak that ours does." He commented.
Now, they all sat around the table in the briefing room, discussing the plan of action. Both Carter's were explaining their idea to return everyone to their proper realities.
"After Colonel Carter located the data from inside the quantum mirror itself, we were able to manipulate that into a gate address using an unrelated project that she'd been working on."
"So it's just dial the gate up and zap it?" O'Neill asked.
"Uh, no. Unfortunately, we already tried that. Every time we try to fire the beam, the wormhole becomes unstable and disengages a few seconds later."
"Well, that's a problem."
"Yes. However, these two days have given us a chance to look at the data and study the beam and gate itself. We think we've figured out what the problem is."
"Which is...?" Hammond asked.
"Our gate is damaged, sir." Colonel Carter summarized.
"What?" Hammond and O'Neill said at the same time.
"Uh, yes. It's probably been that way since we removed it from the Arctic. The area of concern is very small and not critical for the gate's regular function. And before you ask sir, there's no danger and we couldn't have possibly seen this unless we were looking specifically for it."
Major Carter jumped in. "Only because we were trying to blast the gate with such a large amount of energy did this flare up. In fact, we think it's better to leave the gate as it is."
"Not fix the issue?"
"Correct. We would probably do more damage trying to fix it, simply because the damaged power regulator is buried deep inside the gate. Our testing shows that if we leave the gate as it is, it will continue to function normally, exactly as it has been since we moved it up here."
"What are our options?"
"Well, I have a feeling you're not going to like this, sir."
"Colonel?"
"We're going to need the other gate."
Hang on everybody- it's about to get complicated. This is going to be a bit longer before we wrap up.
