Musical Wind Episode#3
Whatsup guys, yes I'm indeed not dead again and honestly I need to come clean about something.
I am not a writer. This is kinda just something that I do in my freetime. I just like to imagine stories and try new things so thats primarily why I don't update often. It also makes sense since I have a lot of procrastination due to me having severe ADHD so there's that too.
I am planning to make this still a fun, emotional, and engaging story that won't go on for *too* long. With that being said the next episode is being worked on and I already have a rough idea on how this story is gonna go. So now I'm more compelled to share this with y'all.
But hey, at least I didn't take another 2 years! heheh...AND I technically didn't take a year to publish this next update sooooo...
Anyway, I've probably talked long enough at this point. From here on in, it's time to continue what we started Enjoy Musical Wind Episode#3!
After Mina's run through the city. She grabbed something to eat from a nearby fast food place and headed back to school to resume her classes.
Everything was basically run of the mill. She would go to the last 3 of her classes, be introduced to her classmates, read the syllabus, and then move onto the next one.
Of course she wasn't looking forward to Math class but all of her other classes, Astrology, World History, and especially Music Appreciation were not of any hindrance to her. She was ready for all of them.
The only thing she was worried about now was whether or not her Mom was cooking tonight, since she didn't feel like running out to get food today.
Back with Sonic
Sonic was exiting his final class, Chemistry and stepped outside to be greeted to the sun, now orange, beaming down on the entire school as he began to walk down the steps. It was getting dark out and Sonic needed to get back home before Tails got home.
"Guess there's no time like the present!" Sonic started as he knelt down on his knees before dashing forward at a quick pace at supersonic speed in a quick blue flash.
Speeding through the city and going all the way back home 15 miles away in what seemed like 5 minutes of a quick jog, Sonic arrived to a particular friend's front doorstep where he stopped dead in his tracks looking nervous.
Amy Rose, Sonic's self-appointed girlfriend then jumped out from the door and preceded to hug Sonic very tightly until all the breath of life was squeezed out of him.
"Heeyyyyy Soniccc!" Amy cooed as she still squeezed Sonic very tightly. "Where have you been? Tails is almost home and we still haven't gotten the balloons ready yet!
"You mean…these balloons!" Sonic said as he cartoonishly grabbed a pair of balloons from behind his back.
Amy annoyingly punched Sonic in the arm and walked away with the balloons to continue setting up Tails' party. Sonic then used his speed to help Amy set up the rest of the decorations.
Amy, now older, had grown her hair out more to where it reached her upper middle back. She also wore some blue short shorts under her iconic dress as well as some more stylish shoes.
Sonic was just the same as ever, except he was now a little older with wilder spines.
"Well how was school today hero?" Amy teased. Since Sonic was going to school, Amy made it a point to mess with Sonic, considering that he wasn't the go-to-school type.
"Man, you sound like my mom." Sonic chuckled. "To answer your question though, it was fine, just boring and I couldn't sit still in class."
"That's not a surprise coming from you." She scoffed playfully. "I can't believe your going back to school anyway."
"You know what Sally said. Now that they're requiring knights here to have formal education, I gotta go back."
"Didn't she also say that you didn't have to since your…well…you?"
"Eh, I like the challenge."
"Even if it means sitting still?"
"Oh yeah, no big deal!" He said with a twitch in his eye.
"Well in any case, we better proof check. Tails'll be back soo-" Amy paused as the door began to creak open.
Sonic and Amy scrambled together in a fast hurried motion to freshen themselves up.
"Uh.. is someone he-" Tails meekly asked before getting cut off by confetti.
"SUPRISE!" Amy and Sonic both screamed as they both leaped into the air and popped their poppers all over the place. The room was drenched in confetti, balloons and glitter (courtesy of Amy).
Tails small workshop-house was relatively small but still was convenient for him. The kitchen was close to the living room and both of the bedrooms and bathroom. And of course, his lab took up the entire other half of the house.
Tails was relatively the same, except now he was taller, but not as tall as Sonic. His voice was a little bit older-sounding but he still had a soft voice. He also had some short hair behind his head and he wore goggles as well.
Tpup, was right behind him as he began to bark and run around Sonic and Amy as he wagged his tail.
"Heheheh!" We kinda were in a hurry, but we got it under control." Sonic told Tails as he picked up Tpup in his arms and rubbed his hand behind his neck.
"Same shoes, same Sonic." Tails laughed as he wittingly said.
"Don't push your luck pal." Sonic said in a mockingly sarcastic fashion.
Sonic, Tails and Amy were the team of all teams, which is why they decided to have a special birthday party alone for just the three of them to enjoy. Since Amy was always helping out the citizens of what is now New Mobotropolis, and running her clothing business with Honey. Tails being preoccupied with his new advanced tech projects in the city, not to mention-his continued adventures with Sonic. And Sonic himself being the free sprited hero he always was running around and saving people and enjoying life constantly.
It was amazing, all except for one thing.
"Sonic do you have a girlfriend?" Tails asked.
Sonic practically spat all over the table they were eating chili dogs at. Amy seemed a little stunned as she paused as she went to drink her fruit punch.
"Uh…well…why do you ask buddy?" Sonic said nervously.
"I'm just wondering, since I haven't seen you with Sally lately…"
"Sally!? Tails me and Sally…"
Just then, Sonic's wrist communicator went off. Giving a loud warning noise that made the three of them startle.
Nicole's voice then could be heard.
"Sonic! I know it might not be a good time, but is outside of Mobotropolis right now! The other freedom fighters are already out there!"
"Got it! I'll be right there!" He then shut off his communicator and then dashed towards the door.
"Tails! Amy! No time for the Q&A now, we gotta juice!"
"Right!" The both of them cheered before all 3 of them dashed out of the house at supersonic speed.
Sometime later…
Sonic and the Freedom Fighters were all fighting Eggman. At this point Eggman was piloting a remodeled version of his Egg Beater (from issue 175). His new model was designed to not only combat Sonic, but the rest of the freedom fighters as well.
"Oh ho ho ho ho ho! Yes keep attacking Freedom Fighters! Your only making my Egg Beater stronger!" Eggman exclaimed as he launched missles at Bunnie Rabbot.
"The way ah see thangs…" She says as she manifests an arm shield and reflects the misses back at the doctor. "We're the ones gettin' stronger! Your busted lil robot is bouta be outta date!"
Antoine is ordered by none other than Princess Sally to stab the robot in the foot with his newly acquired Kingdom of Acorns sword, which he does and helps the robot come crashing down.
"Take zat!" Antonie exclaims.
"Nice job sweetie!" Bunny Praises. "Amy Girl come on!"
"On it!" Amy then leaps up into the air and swings her hammer as she comes crashing down on top of the robot as a huge crack is formed.
"Ugh!" Eggman angrily mumbles as he then swipes Amy out of the way violently as he sends her careening towards one of the outer walls of Mobotropolis.
A huge slam can then be heard as Amy yelps in pain from the impact.
"AMY!" Tails and the rest of the freedom fighters yell. As Tails then reloads his energy blaster cannon (the one from Sonic Battle) and sends a huge yellow ball of energy at Eggman that paralyzes his robot.
"Argh…no!" Eggman exclaims as his robot fails to respond to his commands. "Not like this!"
Just then a blue flash wisps by everyone at supersonic speed as Sonic is seen using his famous spin attack as he slashes through the robots weak point in the center and goes right through. He then skids to a stop as the robot behind him blows up in a great white flash.
Eggman is then seen flying towards the ground and hits the ground with a large thud. Sonic then takes the opportunity to stand on top of his gut as he lay there recovering.
"It's always like this Eggman! Give it up!"
Sonic wags his finger and then does a clean backflip off of Eggman.
Orbot and Cubot then come in, piloting a smaller hover mobile and hoists Eggman up into his robot's metal contraption.
"He'll be back Sonic, and this time, it might just be the last time fer ya!" Cubot Explains in his newly restored southern accent as they hoist Eggman away.
"Yes…get ready Sonic. The good doctor has something very big planned for all of you…" Orbot casually threatens as they are basically gone at this point, leaving Sonic and the Freedom Fighters confused.
"What was zat about?" Antoine D'Coolette asked with his wife, Bunnie D'Coolette right behind him wondering the same.
"Ah don't know, but he aint got no right to be still doing this "invasion" stuff anymore! I mean he's not even a challenge anymore! The nerve…" Bunnie vents in frustration.
Sally then walks in standing tall. She looks the same as well but she grew her hair back out but not as long as it was before.
"I don't know…but we'll be ready for whatever."
Sally confidently states.
Sonic stares off in the distance as well, wondering what the doctor's planning this time.
As everyone turns and heads home. Sonic turns to walk back to the city, until he's brought to a stop.
"Sonic! Do you have a second?" Sally calls out to Sonic as she stands on the horizon.
Sonic turns around and greets her with a smile.
"Sure Sal!"
A little while later they walk together, further away from New Mobotropolis. The two then stop and sit on the hill. They talk personally about how they have been and get caught up on things. Sonic tells Sally how school has been a drag for him, Sally laughs since it's only been a day. Sally even tells Sonic about how everything seems to be progressing peacefully with the higher ups.
In truth, New Mobotropolis was doing better than ever. Except of course…between the two of them.
Sally sighed and kept sitting as she folded her arms on her knees and watched the now red sunset. Sonic was laying down with his hands behind his head looking at the sky.
"Sonic…I…wanted to talk to you. About something important." Sally said as she looks down at her arms.
Sonic perks up and looks to his side at Sally.
"Sure! What's up Sal'?"
"Its…been awhile since we've hung out. I know I can be busy with all of my leadership stuff, especially nowadays, but what happened to us?
Sonic then adjusts himself upright after having been laying down and as he stares deep into the crimson pink sunset. His face looking slightly serious.
"Its nothing personal Sal. We've just been held up on getting the world back together that there's no time for stuff like that."
Sally raises an eyebrow. "Yet, you have time to go to school, but don't have time for me?
Sonic looks at Sally with the same expression, slightly annoyed.
"It's not like that. You and I both know that since I was re-knighted that I have to go to school. At least for a year."
"And you and I BOTH know that I said before its not like you HAVE to go! Sonic stop lying to me, I know something's going on with you, and I want you to be open with me…we're…friends right?" Sally looks at Sonic with a worried expression, as Sonic looks back with the same face.
Sonic then looks down and sighs as he stands up and kicks a little bit of dirt off his shoe.
"To be honest Sal, I've just been thinking alot about multiple different things. I mean, after we…split, I had to rethink a couple of things. I had to think about all of the adventures I missed out on while I was in space for a year. And I just…"
"You just what Sonic?" Sally gets up and puts her hand on Sonic's shoulder.
"I don't know…I've just never been this complicated before y'know? I like to keep things simple and now all of a sudden I've got my head turning in multiple different directions." Sonic says a little bit frustrated.
"Sometimes life can make us do that sometimes Sonic. How do you think I felt when I was faced with even more responsibilities as a princess than I already had. It was daunting at first, but as a princess this is what I have to do. I know you're technically a knight now, but maybe it's time you find something else to focus on. I'm not saying quit school, I think that's very brave of you, but what I am saying is to expand your horizons." Sally confidently states.
Sonic looks at Sally wide eyed and then chuckles.
"Heheh, when did you start becoming a therapist?" Sonic teases.
"Oh stop!" Sally playfully pushes him away.
They enjoy a laugh and talk deeper about their predicament.
"Well, I guess I'd better get going, we're having a meeting at the Castle tonight and I can't be late."
"Something about the Egghead's last threat I presume?" Sonic questions.
"I would be surprised if that wasn't the topic honestly!" Sally scratches the back of her head.
Sonic laughs. "Yeah you're right. That creep never gives up!"
"Whatever the doctor said though, we have to be ready for it Sonic! We truly don't know what he's planning, but I can boldly assume that he might have one final ace up his sleeves!" Sally says looking determined for battle.
"Right! Time to crack that Egghead wide open, for good!" Sonic says as he pumps his fists to the side.
"Exactly! But anyway, I gotta go Sonic, it was nice to…hang again." Sally says as she gives Sonic a surprise hug.
Sonic looks shocked but then returns the hug. "Anytime, and…Sal?"
"Yes Sonic? Sally looks deep into his eyes.
"I forgive you…for when you slapped me. I never got the chance to tell you, but I do." Sonic says sincerely.
Sally blushes but then looks back at him with a happy expression.
"That's….wonderful Sonic. It's kind of embarrassing to think about though, I wasn't in my right mind at the time and I just think it was totally unnecessary to even ask you such a -"
Sally says as her words come out rapidly.
Sonic places his hands back on Sally's shoulders.
"Sal. Chill. Breathe. I love you too, that's all you had to say. Even though things didn't work out, we'll always be together!" Sonic says as he gives a confident and reassuring thumbs up.
Sally blinks for a couple of seconds before tearfully hugging Sonic once more. They embrace each other for a couple of seconds.
"You really are a one of a kind hedgehog." Sally smiles.
Sonic grins. They then separate and then say their goodbyes.
Ever since Sally was beginning to mature, she began to have more duties as a princess of the country. Her insistence on Sonic being her courtship was brought about because of the need of the hierarchy. In reality though, Sonic and Sally began to drift apart way before then. On the night that Mina was shot, they briefly rekindled their feelings, but the situation already looked dire for their relationship. Not to mention Sonic's time in space, and her slap, it was made clear that their relationship wasn't going to last. Opposites might attract, but Sonic wasn't royalty, and Sally had to eventually realize that.
"And even then, could you really see Sonic handling politics?" Is what she told herself whenever she thought about the topic.
This had given her peace and because of that, the both of them discovered that they were even closer as friends. Although they haven't seen each other in a little while, they had begun hanging out together once in awhile. Whether it be with the other freedom fighters, or just the two of them.
Things were looking up for them. Sonic began to think this as he began to prepare to run back home.
"Welp, guess that's that! Wonder what mom's cooki-?" Sonic then felt his ears twitch as he snapped his attention to the direction of some purple blur in the distance. And it was moving very fast.
"Wait a minute…isn't that what I saw earlier today? He sees the figure cutting into the Great Forest with incredible speed.
Sonic then thinks back to the random purple blur that dashed by him while he was on the phone earlier when he left his Biology class.
And now this figure was just casually running around, making the hedgehog wonder who or what it was.
"If this is another one of Eggman's badniks, then color me impressed! This should be fun!"
Sonic then leaps and dashes off of the hill. Straight in the direction of where the figure was going. Sensing a little familiarity.
Looks like a new kid is in town, and Sonic is hot on their trail! Who could this mysterious newcomer be? It's probably obvious but for the sake of suspence...find out next time on Musical Wind Episode#4! Hasta!
