Chapter Ten: The Almost Accident

Lena sat in Biology her day had been pretty uneventful she was surprised to see Edward sitting in his seat since his car wasn't there earlier, Alice smiled happily at the blonde talking quietly to her "so I spoke to Carlisle and he said he remembered meeting your mother and to say hello to her, whenever you spoke to her next."

Lena smiled back at the vampire, "okay then Alice, will do, she'll like to hear that her old friend is doing well." Lauren and Angela shared a surprised look at how easy it was for Lena to befriend not just one Cullen but the lot of them minus Edward in just over a week.

Her eyes landed on Edward and Bella and Lena rolled her eyes at how enamored Isabella was with a boy she's barely spoken to, it would be different if they were mates, but they're not, Isabella Swan is his blood singer, which is very different to a mate.

Alice seeing the look on the blonde's face, followed her line of sight and furrowed her brows, why was she looking at the two of them like that? She had seen Bella as Edward's mate (or so she thought) in the first vision she had of the brunette. "What is it Lena?" she asked quietly her curiosity getting the better of her.

Lena bit her lip slightly wondering how she should word this without straight out saying that she knew the truth about them just yet. "It's just that I've seen that look on her face before, and it's not healthy to be so obsessed with someone you've barely known a week... well there are certain expectations but Isabella and Edward do not fit them at all."

That just made Alice look at her with even more questions, but the bell signaling the end of class rang before she could ask what the blonde meant by that. Lena walked out of Biology with Lauren and Angela, the blonde smirked at Lena. "damn Lena, it's been just a little over a week and you have already gotten four out of the five Cullen siblings to talk to you."

Lena laughed as they stopped at her locker, "what can I say Lauren... I just have that effect on people." the trio laughed as Lena put her things into her locker, Bella for once didn't even glare at the blonde too wrapped up in the fact that Edward was finally back and she could sink her nails into him.

Lauren rolled her eyes at the sight of Isabella and Edward making Lena follow her line of sight, she sighed, seeing the slightly hidden obsession in the girl's brown eyes, "that is so not gonna end well, I'm calling it now." she focused slightly and saw a single red bond between the two that meant blood singer. (okay so I decided to give Lena a few powers from being a Legacy of Aphrodite and bond sight is one of them but only if she focuses.) (still deciding on what else but it will only be like maybe two or three others.)

She shook her head clearing her mind so she didn't see the bond anymore and looped her arm through both Lauren's and Angela's as they made their way to the other two girls' lockers, after that they split up because they all had different classes next.

Lena walked into the girl's locker room to change into her gym uniform, for PE. Rosalie gave her fellow blonde a small smile, "so I heard that your mom knows Carlisle..."

The blonde witch laughed "yeah turns out she does, I wasn't expecting it to be honest."

Rosalie nodded at her "yeah well I wouldn't have either." after that, the class was separated into teams, they were playing volleyball on one side of the gym and Basketball on the other.

The rest of the class went by quickly, at the end of class everyone had changed back into their normal clothes and the bell rang, signally the end of the period, Lena walked out of the gym with Rosalie.

The two blondes went their separate ways after arriving at Lena's locker, and Lauren shook her head with a laugh, "I still can't believe that you managed to get the ice queen to actually talk to you."

Lena just smirked at her, as they made their way to their last class of the day, Art, which had easily become one of Lena's favorite classes, along with History and French.

Lena walked out of the school at the end of the day, what she didn't see was Bella leaning against her truck with a wicked smirk on her face. Lauren and Jessica were meeting her at the car in a few minutes.

The blonde had just gotten to her car when she heard the screeching tires, she whirled around to see Tyler's van sliding right towards her, and instinctively she dropped down and silently threw up an invisible shield with a spell and rolled under her car, she could easily get the car fixed but she wasn't going to take a chance that she would get hit.

The Van narrowly missed her car as Tyler tried to regain control, Bella scowled seeing that her plan had failed. Her eyes widened when the van came skidding right at her.

Lauren and Jessica who had seen what happened both ran toward their best friend, "oh my god Lena!"

"Are you okay?"

The blonde lowered the shield and nodded at the two of them as she got to her feet again, "yeah I'm fine, it didn't hit me... I reacted quick enough and rolled under the car to avoid getting hit."

Then they all heard a crashing sound and turned toward the sound to see Tyler's van stopped against Bella's truck. Lena caught sight of Edward disappearing from the scene and knew that he had saved Bella's life.

She looked over and saw Rosalie's heated glare in teh direction that Edward had disappeared in.

Jessica looked at her "maybe you see a doctor anyway Lena, just to make sure that you didn't hit your head or something while avoiding the van?"

Lena knew that she was fine but to keep up appearances so no one questions it, she nodded and agreed, "sure but only if one of you drives my car, and then I'll drop you both home after."

Lauren spoke up, "okay I'll drive to the hospital." Lena gave her keys to Lauren and the three girls climbed into the car and Lauren drove to the hospital. None of them really concerned about what happened to Bella either.

Lena sat on a bed in the ER, while Lauren and Jessica waited for her in the waiting room.

Tyler was brought in as well. He looked at the blonde, "I'm sorry Lena, I don't know what happened, I tried to stop but it just wasn't working."

Lena nodded at him, "it's all right Tyler, it was a freak accident, sometimes it happens."

He nodded at her, "still I'm sorry." and then Bella was brought in, with her father not far behind her.

Dr. Cullen came in a few minutes later, she smiled at the blonde, whom he knew to be Kassia's daughter from Alice's description of her. "Miss Dwyer, how are you feeling? Alice told me about what happened."

Lena smiled at him, "honestly I feel fine, Dr. Cullen, I just agreed to come in to appease the worries of my friends."

He nodded and ran the needed tests, "Well everything seems to be in order, but I would recommend you to take it easy for a few days, just as a precaution, but other than that, you are free to go."

"Thank you, Dr. Cullen." and then the blonde Doctor went to check on Isabella while Lena walked up to teh desk and signed the papers that she needed to sign to leave. Then she walked out of the ER after that, only to be approached by Alice and Rosalie who had both seen the van going toward her.

"Lena, oh my god are you okay?"

She smiled at the pixie-like vampire, "I'm fine Alice, your dad gave me the all-clear."

Rosalie nodded "that's good, I'm happy that you're okay."

Lena smiled at her, "thanks, Rose." then the blonde witch walked away from the two of them and toward Lauren and Jess.

The brunette looked at her "All good?"

Lena nodded at her "yeah Dr. Cullen, said everything was good."

The two enveloped her in a hug, both happy that she was okay. Lena chuckled and hugged two of her best friends back and then the three walked out of the hospital, "did either of you tell your parents you'd be home a little later?"

Jess nodded, "I texted my dad and Lauren texted her mom and we explained what happened."

"Good just wanted to make sure... oh god I dread having to tell my parents what happened but if I don't then it will just be worse for me in the end. " Lauren gave Lena her car keys back and Lena took both girls home and then headed back to Charlie's.

She dropped her stuff in her room and pulled her phone out knowing that since Bella was involved as well that Charlie would tell his ex-wife about what happened meaning that her dad would know as well and that he would tell her mother.

Lena called Phil first., the phone rang a few times before she heard the worried voice of her father. "Lena sweetheart are you okay?"

"Dad, I'm fine. "

"Then why were you at the hospital?"

"It was just a precaution to make sure that I didn't hit my head or something like that, but I got the all clear nothing is wrong." After Lena had got her father to calm down, he told her that he called her mother. And he told her what happened and that she needed to call her when they were done.

"I figured, dad so I will call her as soon as we hang up okay?"

"Okay sweetheart, I'm glad that you're not hurt, love you kiddo."

"Love you too dad." and then they said their goodbyes and Lena sighed dialing her mother's number.

"Lena, darling are you all right, your dad called and said something about you being in an accident?"

"Mom, I'm okay, A boy that goes to my school lost control of his van, the parking lot was slick and he hit some ice and almost hit me, but I was quick on my feet, threw a shield up around me and then rolled under my car out of the way... it didn't even touch me, though it did barely miss hitting my car I am fine, I only went to the hospital to keep up pretenses and to appease the worries of Lauren and Jess who had ran straight toward me right after it all happened."

Kassia let out a breath of relief "okay then that does make me feel a lot better knowing that nothing actually happened to you." Lena spent the next hour or so on the phone with her mother, telling her about what Carlisle said, and talking about her day leading up to what had happened.

Isabella then barged into the room as she hung up the phone with her mother, a scowl on her face, "how the hell did you manage to dodge that?"

Lena gave her a weird look, "what?"

"The van! It was supposed to hit you not me, so how the hell did you dodge it? I didn't cut the break line for nothing"

Lena scoffed at the dull brunette, "you tried to kill me? You tampered with the breaks?"

"Yeah so, you are the root of all my problems, if you're out of the way then all my problems are solved."

Lena just blinked at her dumbfounded, "wow you really are delusional, aren't you? Do you realize you could have hurt so many other people with that stupid shit you pulled today, luckily no one was hurt, my god..."

Isabella just huffed and stormed out of the room and once the brunette left Lena, grabbed a few things and made sure that Isabella couldn't just barge in anymore, afraid she might try something while she was sleeping or something when she could get an advantage. "Damn that bitch really is crazy... she needs help from the looks of it and a lot of it."

So those are only the bonds that Lena can see, while say Marcus could see a lot more since that is his gift, and her mother as well being a daughter of Aphrodite could see more but where Lena is only a Legacy the power is watered down for her.

Also, I decided to do something a little different and have Bella cause the accident and trying to hurt Lena, which obviously failed.

So as of now, these are all the side pairings in this book.

Kassia and Marcus
Lauren and Demitri
Jessica and Jane and Alec
Angela and Leah.

Might add a few more lol maybe pair Charlie with someone, maybe break Phil and Renee up, and give him a new love interest, who knows at this point XD. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the chapter (: as promised it is longer than the last one.
