Chapter 10: Underwater Run
After escaping Dry Dry Desert, Mario, Leo, Luigi, Annie, Toad, and Toadette had arrived at the next area. This time it is more of a tropical area. A bunch of birds, friendly Koopas, along with Toads are enjoying their day at the beaches.
"Whoa! Look at this place." Leo said in amazement
"It's so beautiful." Annie said in agreement
"Welcome to Cheep Cheep Lagoon!" Mario says.
"Where the fun in the sun never ends!" Toad added in.
"Wow. I wish we could go to this beach to have fun, but this is not a good time. Our friends are out there." Leo spoke out.
Mario sees the path leading to the ocean.
"Well, guys. We're gonna have to swim to get to the pipe on the other side." He said before seeing a item box above. He jumps and hits the box and out comes 6 items: Three Penguin Suits and three Frog Suits.
"What are these for?" Leo asks.
"They can help you swim faster and let you breath underwater." Mario said as he and Luigi took the Frog Suits.
"This should be fun." Annie said as she took the Penguin Suit power up and absorbs it. "I'm a penguin!"
Leo absorbs the Frog suit and feels... either akward or amazement.
"Hehehe if June sees you like this" Toadette said while smirking. She and Toad absorb the Penguin Suit power up.
"Here we go." Mario said as he jumps in the pipe with the others following him.
[Underwater]
Ost: Super Mario 64 - Dry Dry Docks
The group emerges from the pipe and they are underwater.
"Wow!" Leo and Annie said.
"Well guys. Let's keep going." Luigi said.
The group began swimming through the water, seeing coral reefs and magnificent plants. Then a group of Dolphins swim by the group.
"Dolphins! I love Dolphins!" Annie said with excitement.
They also see some Cheep Cheeps who are minding their business.
"I wish June and the other are here to see this." Leo said
However as they swim, lurking in the darkness below, a pair of yellow eyes are shown.
Meanwhile back at Bowser's castle, June, Quincy, Rocket and Peach were chattering when the door the tower opens up.
"June, his Majesty's son has invited you to have lunch with him as soon as possible." A Koopa Trooper informed.
"But what about my friends?" June asks, referring to Quincy, Rocket, and Peach.
"They will have food, but they are not to leave this tower." The Koopa Trooper said.
"What?!" Peach said.
"Haha! You have been fooled! Yes. All of you will be feasting, but in another room. June will be having lunch in Junior's room."
"June, whatever you do, resist Junior's flirty chit-chats. Also, I brought you something that can make your 'lunch date' end quickly."
Peach whispered to June before sneaking a small bottle into her pocket. So with that the prisoners has been taken to have lunch in separate rooms. June was lead to the doors which leads to Junior's room. The guard knocks on the door waiting for a response.
"What is it now?!" Came Junior's voice from the other side.
"Your Nightmareness, your date is here." The Koopa said.
"Send her in." Junior said as the guard leads June into the bedroom.
Once inside, June sees the son of the King sitting at a table with food, a couple of drinks, and candles. Once June reaches to the table...
"You may leave us and stand gaurd. I want no one to interfere." Junior commanded.
"Yes, your highness." The guard bows before leaving.
"So, June. I see that you have finally decided to join me on this occasion." Junior said, "You said that you love to dance do you?"
"Yes. Yes I do love to do." June replied.
"Please dance for me." Junior said.
June wanted to say no, but she will get hurt if she refuses. She only dances with her friends.
"Fine" June said and she starts dancing the moves she know during her mission with her teammates which made Junior smile with glee. In her mind, June know she is going to regret this. She may break Leo's heart for dancing for someone else. Once the dancing is done, June bows to Junior, finishing her dance moves.
"Bravo! Bravo! I have never seen a girl who dance like that." Junior said while applauding her. "Now then. Let's have some lunch."
June and Junior go to the table but the Koopa Prince stops for a moment.
"Wait, I forgot something important. Sit at the table and wait for me." Junior said as he goes to leave the room to retrieve something.
With Junior left the room, June makes her move. She goes to the drinks that was served for both her and Junior. They were kool-aid so June reach into her pocket and pull out the bottle that Peach gave her. It is Laxative.
"Why would she gaive me this?" She asks herself. That is when it hit her. Peach gave her the bottle to sabotage the lunch. "Peach, you're a genius."
So without hesitation, June goes to the Junior's cup full of juice, opens the bottle and dumps the liquid in. The color changes and June quickly stirs it. That is when she hears Junior's voice.
"I'm coming, my little flower." He said.
June grabs the now emptied bottle before hiding it under the drawer. She goes to the table and Junior returns a amulet in his hand.
"June, I wanted to give you something that you will wear for me." He said before showing her a beautiful ruby necklace.
"Its. Its beautiful." June said in amazement.
"Try it on." Junior said, handing the dancer the necklace. She looks at the beauty of the necklace and sees the reflection of herself. She sheds a tear o her eye before she wears the jewelry.
"Do you like it?" Junior asks.
"I do." June replied.
"Let's eat." The two sat at the table take their cups. June knows it is nearly the moment.
"Cheers to our first date." Junior said as he down his cup while June drinks slightly. He takes big gulps until the cup runs dry.
"Ahh. Tasty" Bowser Jr. said before he starts eating his food. June eats slowly as Junior devours his food.
After lunch, June was lead by Bowser Junior back to cell with Quincy, Rocket, and Peach.
"Thank you for joining me for this date, my flower." Junior said.
"I'm not your flower." June said as she goes back to the cell.
"You will be-" Junior said before his stomach starts making weird noises.
"I will be what?" June asks, trying not to smirk.
"You will-" Junior's stomach gurgle very loud making him groan while clenching his stomach, "Oh Great Mushroom Kingdom! What did you idiots put in the food?"
"We didn't do anything, sir!" A guard said.
"Lock her up and put be on guard duty!" Junior said before he makes a run for it.
June was placed back in the cell before turning to Peach, Quincy, and Rocket.
"Did you do it?" Peach asks.
"Yes I did." June replied.
"Glad you did, girl." Peach said offering a high five who June returns it.
"What did June do?" Quincy asks.
Peach just smirks.
In a bathroom...
Junior groans as he is having a case of diarrhea as the guard cover their nose and gag from the foul stench. Bowser and Big Jet approaches.
"What's going on in there?!" Bowser demanded.
"Its your son, your demoness! He's having a bad stomachache!" The gaurd said.
sniffs*
"Gah! Son, what did you eat?" Bowser asks him while covering his nose.
"Someone's put something on my drink!" Junior said while groaning.
"[My guess would be the princess had something to do with it.]" Big Jet said.
"That royal brat" Bowser sneered in anger.
"I can't believe you did that!" Quincy said while laughing.
"I never thought you would do something like that" Rocket said.
"That payback for ruining my party." Peach said.
"I never felt so... gladness in me" June said. That cheered her up but she still hopes Leo will come save her.
Back with Mario and others, the group is getting closer to the end when suddenly, rumbling was heard.
"Did you hear that?" Annie asks.
"Unagi..." Mario said.
At the cue, a bunch of Cheep Cheeps and Dolphins swim for their lives the Unagi, a giant eel swim, towards them.
"SWIM!!!" Leo shouted!!
They quickly make a dash for it as the Unagi pursuits them. Annie starts falling behind as the eel gets closers to her.
"Annie!!" Leo shouted as he goes to his little sister.
The Unagi is about to bite when Leo swims with a large rock and hits the eel in the eye making it roar in pain.
"I think you made it angry." Toad said.
Leo and Annie swim in a different towards a cave with the Unagi chasing after them. They reach inside as the Unagi slams into the entrance of the cave, trying to get through. Leo and Annie hold on to each other as the eel tries to dig through.
"Go away!" Annie said washer hands and ice balls fired out of her flippers hitting the mouth of the monster making it roar in pain. It flinched back, leaving an opening for the children.
"Come on!" Leo said, taking Annie's hand and they swim away from the cave. The Unagi shakes its head before going after them once more. The children see the exit pipe and they are closing in with the eel inches away, jaws opened. Just as it was about to bite them, Leo and Annie swim into the pipe and the Unagi chomps down on the steel tube, before all of his teeth shatter like glass.
On the the side, Mario and the others got out and they made back on land with Leo and Annie. They took a breather after the swim.
"Are you guys alright?" Mario asks the others who nods
"We are not doing that again." Annie said.
She sees the flag pole when Toadette jumps and pulls the enemy flag down.
"Oh yeah!" She said while jumping in the air.
"When do we get to lower the flag?" Annie asks.
"You will one day, Annie." Luigi said as they see another green pipe before jumping in.
