Chapter CLXXII: Searching For Harmony, Onwards To Atlantica! Final Part III
Swimming forwards in the silence of the aftermath of the battle. The freed hostages were now all searching frantically for their missing rescuers, their urgent shouts all filled the air, "Melody! Nozomi! Cait sith!"
"Melody!" Dash cried out worriedly as he splashed on forwards through the waters.
"Nozomi!" Tip then cried out, however there was no response. So urging his friend with a pat upon his back he told him, "let's keep goin' partner!" With that in turn Dash nodded urgently as he sped off to continue searching for their two fellow adventurer/explorers.
There was no sign of either of the girls, nor the gutsy crowned black cat amongst the sea of ice and broken sharpened glaciers. Anxiety was racing high within everyone as they all searched for them, the mermaid princess shivering from the fear and cold that was around them asked herself, "oh Melody... where are you?"
Hearing his wife say this as he walked alongside her, he told her trying to be reassuring despite her worry, "Ariel don't worry, we'll find her! I know we will!"
Flounder beside her added too, "yeah don't worry Ariel!" To which hearing them both the red haired mermaid smiled just a little bit as she and them continued looking.
At that point it was then, that once again Riku shouted out loudly, "Nozomi! Cait sith!"
Once again though, no response. However neither of the keybladers were going to give up either! So the king shouted out loudly himself, "Cait sith!"
"HERE MATES!"
Hearing this shout, immediately everyone was alerted and turning they all looked to see where the voice had come from. Then-
"OVER HERE! WE'RE RESTIN' HERE!"
With that hearing this shout, everyone quickly headed in the direction the voice had come from, making their way through the white mist that the fallen snow and ice had created. They all got through this chilling curtain and climbing onto another sheet of ice, suddenly with widened eyes Eric cried out, "Melody!"
For there was his beloved daughter, lying unconscious upon Nozomi's lap who herself looked up at the prince surprised, as Cait sith stood beside her with his arms folded looking reserved and relaxed.
Making his way over to the two girls and cat as everyone else quickly followed after him. The prince asked hurriedly, "Melody!? Is she alright? Is she-"
Immediately Cait sith told the worried father, "she's fine lad! She's fine! Don't distress yourself!"
Hearing this, Eric almost couldn't believe it as he asked the small cat, "she is?"
Seeing that he'd been really worried about his daughter. Nozomi decided to kindly reassure him herself as she smiled gently and said, "yeah, she is... she's just tired from the battle and everything that's happened, that's all."
At these words, Eric then finally calmed down as he felt relief overflow within inside of him. Smiling he put a hand to his chest as he said softly, "thank goodness." With that said he walked forwards and knelt down before Nozomi, as he did he gently took his daughter into his arms. Looking to Nozomi who continued to smile gently on, he told her, "thank you."
To which in response the female keyblader simply nodded happily, for she was glad to see her friend to be reunited with her father and with that she watched as the gentle man walked forwards to meet with his worried wife.
As he walked forwards it was then, that quickly moving themselves past him. Riku and Mickey approached Nozomi and Cait sith, still within their sea forms. Seeing them coming, the small black cat greeted them both as he cried out with a wave of white gloved hands, "ahoy there mates!"
Finally making it over to them both, it was Mickey who first asked worried, "fella's are ya both alright!? Are ya both-"
It was then Nozomi gave the king reassurance as she told him smiling still, "we're fine Mickey! We're fine! Don't worry!"
Nodding Cait sith agreed as he added, "aye! We both are! None the worse for wears, as to be expected."
Riku himself hearing those, though unsurprised by their reactions. He was still relieved to know this so smiling he replied, "that's good to know!" But he had to add to them both, "you guys really had us worried during this whole battle!"
Then hearing him say this, Nozomi nodded as she had to admit, "well to be honest we were worried too! " With that bringing her left wrist forward, she showed them the blue stone that was upon her wrist, "I mean if we hadn't have found this stone! We probably would never of won... especially without Melody's help before."
Hearing this Mickey nodded himself as a relieved smile now decorated his face as he replied, "yeah.. it was lucky then for all of us!" But as he looked at the stone that was on his fellow keyblader's wrist, he asked her, "Nozomi... do you think I could have a look at that stone?"
To his request, the female keyblader complied as she replied, "sure!" With that she gave it to him, but as she did this she asked him, "do you think you'll be able to discover anything about it Mickey?"
At this question, the mouse king replied to her, "I don't know Nozomi... but I'll have a good try at it."
To which Nozomi nodded again as she replied smiling, "okay your majesty," with that as he turned to look at it, the female keyblader did have to wonder again. Where did that stone come from? It'd been too good to be true to find another transformation stone so easily! Did Morgana simply drop it or misplace it there? Or had it been planted by someone or-
"Hey?" Breaking Nozomi out of her thoughts, the female keyblader saw that Riku was holding out something to her, looking to his hand she saw in his opened palm a blue/grey coloured gem. Gazing at it, she then recognised it! Goliath's summon gem! How did it-?
Riku then answered the unspoken question with a smile as he saw her startled and puzzled expression appear on her face, "this seems to have fallen out of your pocket, when you visited Triton's palace."
Hearing this Nozomi was blank for a moment. But then embarrassment swept over her immediately as she replied scratching her hand into her hair, "oh really? Ha ha!" Then seeing that she'd done something so ditzy, she began to feel deflated as she moaned, "that was totally idiotic..."
Cait sith hearing this nodded as he told her, "you don't have to tell me twice! And ya just gotta be glad that I didn't have to be the one to drum it into ya, ya daft banshee!"
Annoyed the female keyblader replied to her feline partner irritated, "yeah, I will be thanks..."
Seeing this usual interaction occur between the two of them, Riku smiled and couldn't help but giggle a little... then recovering he said, "well anyway, here you are Nozomi."
Looking away from Cait sith, Nozomi's annoyed expression fell away and so turning back to Riku she smiled as she replied, "oh? Thanks Snowball!" With that she went to take the stone from him, but as she took it and touched his warm skin, immediately the moment of the kiss replayed in her mind again! As it did her heart pulsed strongly and she blushed madly red again. She immediately retracted away from him taking the stone with her as she hid her face away... this was-!?
Riku seeing her do this was confused by her reaction, but before he could wonder about this-
"Guys!" Turning quickly everyone then saw Tip and Dash approach them all and as they did, they heard the walrus speak up again as he told them all, "Melody's waking up over here! She's comin' around!"
Hearing him immediately Mickey was distracted from his observations upon the blue stone in his hand, turning over he asked, "she has?"
Nodding Tip then told him, "yeah! C'mon get over here!" With that both walrus and penguin rushed back to where the awakening was occurring. With that quietly and quickly both Riku and Mickey started to follow after the two adventurer/explorers!
Seeing them go, Cait sith then told Nozomi, "lass c'mon! We gotta follow after 'em! Melody's-"
However he saw the female keyblader was still blushing like mad and as he saw this he was quiet for a moment looking at her... however there was no time for this! So quickly he jumped up and started to pull her hair which immediately brought her back to reality!
"Oww! Cait sith what-!?"
"Melody's back and awake lass! Now c'mon move your legs and get to her! Be the friend ya're supposed to be!" The small cat told her mad as he pulled her hair!
Hearing this immediately Nozomi's eyes widened and without another word, she ran in the direction the others had gone to!

Seeing their targets disappear into the icy mist, it was then that Jona decided to voice her thoughts, "well looks like things are nicely wrapped up around here!" With that turning she asked, "right honey?"
For now at that moment, without the dark blue gem she'd been given by Maleficent to use. She was now relying upon Uriax's strong arms which were now carrying her slender Sphynx form close to his chest and out of the water.
The dark apprentice clearly though wasn't pleased with this progression of events as he saw Nozomi's red flushed face... this error needed to be corrected and soon! So turning himself and her, he simply made a one word reply to Jona, "indeed..."
Seeing him turn both of them around, the Sphynx suspected the obvious but decided to ask anyway, "we on are way are we?"
Uriax then replied, "yes... there's no point sticking around here anymore... I have other agenda's now that'll need attending to."
Smiling at this comment, Jona made her own reply, "I see...we better be on our way then!" But before they moved she pulled her arms as she hung onto him a little bit more tightly, while also moving herself closer to him. As she did, a gentle red blush came across her face as she couldn't help but further admit stroking her head into his shoulder, "well thanks for giving me this lift sweetheart... I really appreciate it."
Uriax feeling her and hearing these words, paid no heed to them as he simply turned himself and headed to where their exit was located. The one which would lead them back to Maleficent and the heartless...

In the meantime awakening from the darkness of her unconsciousness, Melody was at first puzzled. But then she smiled as she saw who was kneeling before her, holding her cheek gently in his hand. "Dad?" She asked him almost breathlessly.
Seeing that she'd awakened Eric smiled so full of relief, "oh Melody... I was so afraid we'd lost you."
Smiling a little more as she heard this, Melody then turned herself over and quickly she saw that she'd been upon her mother's lap! Seeing her smiling at her as she looked on with surprised eyes, the young girl then cried, "mother!" Then as her tears began to fall she cried out, "I'm sorry so mother!" With that she hugged Ariel as her emotions surged throughout her.
It was then that Nozomi arrived and as she stood behind Riku, Mickey along with Tip and Dash she smiled pleased at the happy reunion of mother and daughter. With that she was silent as she and the others listened on to what else would be exchanged between the two.
Holding her daughter close Ariel was so relieved and happy herself, but gently she told Melody softly placing a couple of dark stands of hair away, "oh no sweetie...we're sorry! We should have told you the truth."
Melody hearing this was quiet, but then she had to admit as her guilt started to rise inside of her again, "I didn't mean to hurt anyone... I just hoped I'd be a better mermaid than a girl."
Ariel hearing this couldn't help but smile as she told her daughter reassuringly, "oh Melody sweetie! It doesn't matter if you have fins or feet! We love you for who you are on the inside, our very brave little girl."
Then as that was said, Triton swam over as he added with a kind smile of his own, "just like your mother."
As she heard these words and saw him, Melody smiled all the more as she ran up and wrapped her arms around Triton and cried out happily, "oh Grandfather!" To which in turn the king of the seas squeezed his granddaughter gently back. So happy to finally meet her and relieved that she was safe.
Nozomi smiled brightly as she heard and saw this happy reunion, quietly she held a hand to her chest as she wondered... would she someday in the future be able to have this? Would she be able to meet-
"Oi! Don't forget about us here!" It was then that Tip shouted out loud. Surprising everyone as he wanted to be recognised and not forgotten, "we all love ya for that stuff too! Right guys?"
Dash nodded as he said cheerfully, "yeah totally!"
To which hearing this everyone thought this was so the wrong time to say that, but then indulging him Nozomi rolled her eyes as she replied, "yeah we do... we all do!" To which she finished by nodding to Melody happily.
The young girl then nodded really happy herself in reply, while her parents behind her held each other affectionately with happiness while they looked to their daughter who was listening to her grandfather's words, "Melody, I don't blame you for wanting to join us Merfolk and because you're my granddaughter, I'm giving you a precious gift."
Cait sith hearing this couldn't help but ask quietly, "oh? I wonder how many carats that'll be?"
Nozomi though batted her hand at him, to make him be quiet as this was an important moment!
Triton then revealed what this 'gift' was, "a choice, you can come to Atlantica with me," to which Eric and Ariel looked on with shock as did everyone else, then the king gave the young girl her other option, "or you can return to your home on land, it's up to you."
At these choices everyone was quiet... for this was a difficult call to make! Even Tip had to admit it as he exclaimed, "whoa! What a doozy there!" Then turning to his ever loyal and reliable sidekick he asked him, "what'd you go for Dash?"
Listening to this question, the walrus had to admit, "well I... I dunno... that's really a tough call to make!" Then thinking about it a little more, he had to confess, "I don't think I could choose really..."
Hearing him say this, Riku had to agree with him as he nodded his head and said, "I'd have to agree with you there... it's almost the same as saying you can go travel the worlds or not see your friends again... I wouldn't want to make that choice."
Mickey nodded at this himself, but then looking to his other fellow keyblader he decided to ask her opinion, "what do you think Nozomi? What do you think Melody will pick?"
Looking to the king as he asked this question, Nozomi was silent as she observed her friend but as she looked. She felt inside one certain thing, "I don't know... but I'm sure Melody will make everything alright," she said finishing with a smile.
Melody at that moment had finished with her thoughts and so turning to her Grandfather she smiled to him as she said, "I have a better idea!" With that everyone listened on quietly to see what the outcome would be.

FLASH!
Suddenly in a blink of light, Melody now wearing a soft yellow dress activated the powers of the Trident and doing so she launched a bolt of lightning forwards! In moments the great sea wall that surrounded the palace that was her home was removed and dissolved into yellow magical dust!
As it was the girl cried out happily, "now we can all be together!"
Ahead was revealed behind the dissolving wall, standing upon the white marble stone steps that led down to the once cut off beach, was her mother, father and the other human occupants of the castle. Ariel wearing a blue and white long sleeved dress, seeing the sea return smiled as she moved forwards and took a step forwards into the water looking to her daughter with happiness in her eyes.
Melody in turn waved to her and then looking back behind her, she looked to her friends, Nozomi, with Cait sith on her shoulder Riku and Mickey standing together in their sea forms along with Tip and Dash.
Looking to her friend, Nozomi gave her a thumbs up telling her in a gentle gesture that she'd done an amazingly great job!
"Oh! I hear the music playing
It's swinging and it's swaying
A little rhapsody!"
Sebastian arrived upon a nearby wave and as he did, a sea of music followed with him as the entire atmosphere became absorbed into happy celebration!
Melody laughing then dived into the ocean as quickly, Nozomi and the others followed after her smiling and laughing too.
SPLASH!
As they did this, Sebastian sang on,
"Today we're so delighted
Today we're all united
Here on the land and sea!"
With that from the water's depths came countless Merpeople who smiled with delight at those on the sea shore and in turn the human's upon the beach looked on with just as equal cheer.
"I think the sails are sailing
Even the whales are wailing
They're swimming fancy-free
We're feeling better now
We sing together now
Here on the land and sea!"
As these lyrics sang out everybody upon the beach went into the ocean as they all swam and played together, enjoying the peace that had finally been reached! For after so long, there was now no need to feel fear from any threats, they could all sing and frolic in pure joy and happiness!
Dancing and twirling with Melody in her mermaid form, Nozomi smiled and laughed joyfully in the sea waters! Then suddenly as she let go spun away from her. She was caught by another pair of strong arms, looking up startled she saw that it was none other than Riku!
Feeling him as he pulled her close to him, he smiled warmly at her as he twirled himself with her sending bubbles flowing out here there and everywhere! The whole area seemed to shine and sparkle from this effect as both Mermaid and Merman danced in the waters.
"Move your fins and move your feet!
Life is sweet, life is grand!
Though we rhumbas with the bass bass brand!"
The female keyblader seeing this with amazement looked at him with widened eyes as this happened and as she realised their close proximity to one another, feeling the warmth of his skin again along with seeing the wondrous colour of his light blue eyes that stared into hers.
She let go of him in a flustered hurry blushing madly red as her heart raced crazily inside of her. Looking on still puzzled at her, Riku watched as she crashed into Dash who quickly scooped her up into his fins, seeing this happen he simply shook his head and smiled gently with amusement as he went to go and dance with Mickey who was floating around with Cait sith who was once again inside of his bubble.
Still swimming around and around with Dash, Nozomi had been so not ready for that! For with what had happened before, how was she supposed to face him like this!? Especially with Snowball being topless too! For maybe she hadn't been paying real attention before but... she smiled gently as she thought to herself, 'he really is handsome'. But then as this thought came she shook her head vigorously with annoyance! For how could she think like that when-
It was then she was suddenly released from Dash's fins and as she was falling in a dizzy circle, she shook her head trying to get her act together as she decided to get her mind off these thoughts and take a look around herself to find Melody. Looking she couldn't see her, so quickly she swam to the surface to find her! For reaching into her pocket, there was still something she had to give to her friend.
SPLASH!
Breaking the water's surface it was then that the female keyblader saw her friend singing with her mother, as she put upon her neck once more the golden locket she had lost before in her father's palace with a smile on her face.
"Have been through stormy weather!"
Melody feeling her locket back in its rightful place sang too in her replying verse.
"Now we can sing together!"
With that sung, both mother and daughter joined their arm's with one another as they sang together truly happily at their reunion and that of the land and sea.
"In perfect harmony
We're feeling better now
We sing together now
Here on the land and sea!"
Glad to see this Nozomi smiled all the more, but as she felt the thing that was in her pocket... she felt a little sad, for soon once again she was going to have to say goodbye to another friend she'd made... as this sadness dwelled in her, suddenly she felt a tug on her hand and looking she saw it to be Mickey. He smiled at her as he gently pulled her forwards in a silent way to tell her that they should join them both.
Feeling this the female keyblader was surprised, but suddenly she felt a hand on her left shoulder. Looking up quickly she saw it to be Riku again. He smiled gently as he nodded to her perplexed expression saying that he would go with her.
Nozomi then blushed red again and as she did Cait sith landed on her other shoulder as he told her, "c'mon lass! Let's end this number all together!"
Hearing him say this, Nozomi was quiet for a moment but then she smiled herself as she replied, "okay let's!" With that she and the others swam on to join Melody, Ariel along with Prince Eric and Flounder who had both just joined the mother and daughter.
SPLASH!
Seeing them go though as they broke through the water's surface, quickly Tip and Dash followed suite behind them all as the bold leader cried out, "hey!" While Dash then cried out loudly, "wait for us guys!"
"Those on land sing...
Those below sing...
Life is sweet, as sweet can be
On the land and on the sea!"
With that quickly everyone arrived at Melody's side beside the platform rock that faced the sea palace, as they did. Nozomi clenched the object she had in her pocket and as she did she put a hand onto her friend's shoulder.
The young girl feeling her friend's touch was confused by this, then she was surprised as she saw the somewhat sad smile that was upon Nozomi's face. But before she could ask her what was wrong, her parents put their arms around their daughters shoulders with happy smile's on their faces. Seeing and feeling this Melody then couldn't help but smile too as suddenly all around came the final verse of the joyful song, both the people of the land and those of the sea were singing it too.
As these words came in that moment, Nozomi Riku along with Mickey and Cait sith sang together too as the unification finally felt real all around them.
"We're feeling better now
We sing together now
Here on the land and sea!"
With those words sang it was then that Triton unleashed the power of the Trident and in moments a beautiful coloured glittering rainbow emerged, it's dazzling sight fully symbolised the reunion of the land and sea!
Then as he finished the spell everyone looked at it with happiness and wonder in their eyes... then all at once-
Suddenly above a glittering white light seemed to envelop all of the rainbow, it shone strongly making everyone startled! Ariel seeing what was happening asked, "what is that?"
Nozomi though seeing this reaction remembered before what had happened in Kiara's world, as she did she began to speak, "I think it's-"
Then in moments emerging in a sparkle of light within her hands, was the 'Starseeker' seeing it, she looked back up to the rainbow that continued to shine. As she did, she knew quickly what to do!
Aiming with her keyblade suddenly a single beam of light emerged and shot forwards touching the rainbow in seconds! There was then a ringing sound that entered the air, with it in moments there floated down a glittering spark which quickly landed in Nozomi's hand.
Looking at it, it was a pulsating blue glittering stone... Nozomi knew what it was as she said, "another Time Lock huh?"
Seeing the object as it landed in Nozomi's hand, Melody was puzzled as she repeated, "Time Lock?"
Taking a look at the stone himself as it stayed in Nozomi's hand, Cait sith nodded as he said, "yep looks like it lass! Plus since it is... that means our job's finished here huh?"
Nodding her head, Nozomi then replied simply, "yeah it looks like it..." with that the mermaid keyblader turned her head to look to her friend again.
Seeing her look at her this way, Melody felt her happiness vanish as she asked curiously, "Nozomi?"
The female keyblader seeing the worried look on her friend's face felt bad, but she knew there was no avoiding this. So sighing she told her sadly, "Melody...I'm sorry... me and the others have to leave."
At this announcement the young girl paused in slight shock as she asked, "you have to go?"
Nozomi then nodded sadly as she said, "yeah... you see, we came here to collect this stone and... to stop any trouble that was happening and since that's gone and... well we have to go."
However the young girl hearing her friend say this, then ran up to her as she pleaded taking both her hands into her own, "but! Can't you stay a while longer! I mean..." she paused as she tried to think of something to say. Then quickly it came to her, "you still have to learn to be able to swim right! Well I can give you those lessons and-"
At that moment though it was then that Ariel stepped in as she placed her hands on her daughter's shoulders as she told her, "Melody... I know you'd like for them to stay but... they're keybladers, they have responsibilities in other worlds that they need to protect... and I know how sad it is to say goodbye... but this is something that can't be changed."
With that approaching quietly Riku felt bad about the situation too as he added, "that's correct... we do apologise about this..."
It was then though that Mickey walked forwards as he added though trying to make a brighter note about everything, "yeah, but we will pop in now and again so you don't have to be too sad!"
Hearing this Melody asked sounding hopeful, "really!?" The king then nodded as a reply and as he did this, Melody then asked hurriedly with excitement, "will you guys all come back really soon!?"
To this it was then that Cait sith started to make his reply, "can't say there lass! We're always hoppin' here there and everywhere! There's never a guarantee with-"
Quickly Nozomi shut up her absent minded pal as she whispered mad, "Cait sith!" Then looking to Melody again she saw that terribly saddened look return again.
As it did the female keyblader decided then it was time for it, so reaching into her pocket she spoke once more," well he is right about that Melody... I can't say when we will come back... but I promise you I'll try and make it soon! Plus there's something else you need to know about friends," with that she took her left hand where her transformation bracelet had once been.
Seeing her take her hand Melody was puzzled but then she felt something being slipped onto it, looking she saw a golden bracelet entwined with threads of pearls, with half a sea shell chained to it. Looking at it the young girl looked on at it with amazement but then turning back to her friend she saw startled that Nozomi had a mirror bracelet on her same wrist!
At the look of astonishment that was on her face, Nozomi smiled as she told her, "no matter how far apart they are, they're always together within their hearts." With that she walked up to her and showed her what she meant as she fitted the two halves of the shell together showing that they fit.
Hearing this and feeling the golden bracelet on her hand fit her friend's, Melody nodded and smiled but still tears filled her eyes and so quickly in moments she ran up to Nozomi and hugged her tightly as she told her, "thank you! Thank you so much... it was so much being with you!"
Nozomi herself felt tears starting to brim in her own eyes as she hugged her too and said, "yeah... it was the same for me too! It was great being with you Melody!"
Looking on everyone couldn't help but smile on themselves at this affectionate scene... then suddenly, "hey!"
In moments both Melody and Nozomi were scooped up by both Tip and Dash, the leader of the group announced, "don't forget! We all had fun together too!"
With that quickly Dash added as he smiled broadly, "yeah! Besides no matter what happens in the future we'll always be the Adventurer/explorers quartet!"
Then simultaneously both leader and sidekick asked the girls together, "right?"
To which hearing this both Melody and Nozomi surprised then replied with the same answers with smiles on their faces, "yeah!"
"Eh! You guys are too sappy for ya're own good!" Cait sith announced as he'd been caught in this hug frenzy too.
With that as everyone continued to hug, they all laughed together as did all the onlookers too for this was certainly a moment no one would forget anytime soon...

Finally upon the beach, with the Merpeople and all those of the land looking on the keybladers were ready as they lay themselves on the sand. Turning around to face the king of the sea, Mickey then declared, "all right Triton! Release the spell!"
Nodding to the mouse king, the king of the seas replied, "very well!" With that he activated the magic of his Trident and at once the keybladers were bathed in glowing golden light and in moments, the sea forms that they all once had had were quickly removed as they were all finally returned to their original humanoid forms and costumes, while Cait sith popped out of his bubble.
Feeling his legs again, Riku smiled as he admitted, "wow! It feels good to be human again!"
Nodding too Mickey added, "yeah! Nothing beats having a pair of good legs!"
At this comment Nozomi nodded brightly and as she did, she was about to say something when suddenly from behind them all there was a shout!
"Goodspeed! We'll never forget the great service you did for us all! Our gratitude will always with you all!" Triton announced to the keybladers.
As he did this, the group stared at the sea king in wonder and as they did, quickly Ariel cried out too, "yes! Thank you all! Please give our best wishes to Sora!"
