Chapter 10, Part Two has arrived my little lovelies. xD

I absolutely love the amount of reviews I've gotten these last couple chapters, guys. Please keep it up. Lolz. If I get eight reviews this chapter, I'll reach 100.

I'll make you guys a deal.

I've been working on a one shot to help my writers block. It's about Adele and Damon between seasons 2 and 3, basically between the end of What Doesn't Kill You and the beginning of Lose Myself. They take a trip to Richmond to spend time together as a couple, I wasn't planning on uploading it but if I can get those eight or more reviews from this chapter, I'll upload it. xD

Shout outs:

Thank you to all who reviewed.

lolsmileyface6: That's awesome. I was wondering how someone would combine their names, it seemed difficult to me. Lolz.

NicoleR85: Good guesses. I won't give it away but I will rule out Damon. It wasn't Damon. Considering the rules of a sire bond, a vampire only bonds to their sire if they have feelings for them, human feelings and considering Adele's feelings for Damon, that was a sire bond waiting to happen. xD

SomebodyWhoCares: I had to. I just had to. I've been on a real cliff hanger kick. ^^

Revenger's Sister: No, thank you. I know there was a lot of questions left unanswered, and I hope this chapters clears up most of them.

ddluzelle: Wow. That's a good guess and a good idea. (:

Guest (Klaus slipped it to her because he did say he liked her and he probably knew something was going to happen): I wouldn't put it past Klaus to know everything that's going to happen before it happens. He's just that good. Lolz.

Guest (poor damon): Yes, poor Damon. xD

Earwen85: It would have sucked if she died. xD I actually had a lot of ideas for the story if she actually had died. The idea I went with though makes it stick to the original plot of Vampire Diaries which is what I've wanted since the beginning.

Revenger Tigger: Why, How and huh will be answered in this chapter I promise. :p

Alymariet: Here it is. Not as soon as you probably would have liked it, but it's here. Lolz.

queen ares: Like I said, was on a serious cliffhanger kick. Lolz. Sorry, hopefully it's over? *Wink Wink*

Guest (Oh god. Please update. I can't wait anymore. I NEED to know what happens next. Update ASAP.): It wasn't ASAP but it's here! xD

heytay1: Thank you so much. I'm glad you love it.

mrs Tall Blonde and Dead: I hope they do to. They should just learn to accept it already because Dele is going to be around for a long time…well…maybe…xD Lolz. I kid, I kid…or do I?

bg99275: I know updates have been taking a while. I'm sorry for that. I've had a really bad case of writers block like I mentioned above and I've also been studying a lot to, so...yeah. Sorry again. But it's here now so yay! Lolz.

Disclaimer: I own nothing but my OC's.

Chapter 10: The New Deal

Part Two

"I feel like I'm going crazy." Elena is saying and Bonnie nods in understanding across from her as her best friend's eyes dart around the crowded Grill. "I'm totally paranoid all the time."

"You have a right to be. Klaus is still out there and he knows you tried to kill him." Bonnie reminds her which doesn't make her feel much better about the whole situation.

"Why hasn't he made a move?" Elena questions. "There has been no sign of him. Nothing. Just my slow spiral into insanity."

"Join the club." Bonnie says softly. "Every time I close my eyes, I have that nightmare. On repeat."

"The same dream?"

"Yeah! Four coffins, Klaus is in one of them." Bonnie shakes her head. "It's weird."

"What if it's not just some dream?" Elena offers. "What if it's like...you know...a witch dream?"

"It's just stress." Bonnie assures. "I'll figure it out. And what about Stefan? Has there been any sign of him?"

Elena's back straightens at the mention of Stefan, her mind clouding over in anger and hostility but also the longing to have him back to the way he was before. "He betrayed us Bonnie. The Stefan that we know is gone."

Bonnie's hazel eyes search Elena's features before asking in a soft voice, "How's Adele?"

Elena's shoulders sag. "Damon says she's as okay as she can be considering. I haven't gotten over to see her yet."

"She hasn't made her decision yet?" Bonnie asks biting at her bottom lip as Elena shakes her head.

"No. It's a hard decision you know, she has to have time to think. I understand that."

"She doesn't have too much time, Elena."

"She knows that." Elena runs a hand through her hair. "Nobody can make up Adele's mind for her. If she decided that this isn't what she wants, we have to support her. It doesn't matter how hard it'll be."

"Damon isn't going to be able to accept it if she decides not to do it." Bonnie points out and Elena nods.

"I know." She whispers.

*VD*

Jasmine's green eyes watch her quietly from her spot on the bed. She watches the way she stares out the window, blue eyes almost unblinking and arms folded across her chest. "Adele…" She tries calling her for the third time. "Are you okay?"

"My head hurts." She mutters, blinking slowly. "My gems are killing me and I'm starving. My throat feels like it's on fire." Her blue eyes narrow slightly. "I haven't even changed and I can practically hear the way your heart beats, I can imagine the blood flowing through your veins." Jasmine visible shutters at her words, she sounds so clam that it's almost scary. "No. I'm not okay."

Jasmine swallows wanting to quickly change the subject. "So Damon went to The Grill?"

"He went to pick me up something to eat, because I'm starving." She practically growls, her shoulders shaking.

"It's not food you crave Adele." Jasmine reminds her and Adele nods slowly.

"I know." She turns her head away from the window and Jasmine tries not to look away. Her eyes are just so blue and vibrant against such pale, smooth skin and her hair so bright and silky. She looks the same but different. She was beautiful but something about her seemed that much more beautiful now and that much more dangerous, despite not having changed completely. "You don't have to pretend that I'm not freaking you out. When I looked in the mirror, I scared myself."

"It's not that you freak me out Adele. It's just…you look like you but different. It's just going to be hard to get use too." There's the unspoken if in her statement, the unspoken "If you choose to change" and Adele turns away once again.

"I know that I'm making this hard on everyone but I'm not sure I can do it. The idea of eternity scares me…but I can't stand the idea of leaving Damon or everyone else either. I just need time to think about it."

"And we can give you that time…but you don't have much and we lost you once already, the idea of losing you again…it scares us." Jasmine explains and Adele nods. She understands that.

"I just…I don't understand how this happened." She whispers.

"You can't remember? At all?"

"No." Adele says quickly turning away from the window. "Whatever. It doesn't matter. I'm alive. That's all the counts right?"

"Adele…" Jasmine shifts on the bed. "I'm sorry. You didn't ask for this and it's not right for us to try and pressure you into changing, if you really decide you don't want to we can't force you."

"Yeah." Adele glances around at the mess Damon created, that has yet to be cleaned up. "I wish you all felt like that."

"He's not thinking clearly at the moment. You died and it…shook him. He'll support you." She tries and Adele's lips twitch slightly.

"Nice try." She mutters. "But no…he won't. If he could've forced the stuff down my throat without the threat of me hating him, he would've." Her hand reaches up to wrap around her locket only for her to drop it when she realizes. "If I do change…I won't be able to wear the locket anymore."

"I'm sure we can get the vervain out of it." Jasmine says.

"I remember…the night he gave it to me. He told me he loved me and then he made me forget." Adele shakes her head. "I tried to make him tell me what he made me forget when I found out. I understand why he didn't. I wouldn't have been able to handle it back then but…things change. I love him and I don't know if I can leave him. He's been weird though, since I woke up."

"Like I said…you died and it shook him, I think more so then the rest of us. He tried so hard to protect you…"

"He blames himself, I know but it wasn't his fault." Her blue eyes become distant as if she's recalling a memory which perks Jasmine's curiosity.

"Did you remember something?" She asks and Adele blinks, startling blue eyes landing on her.

"No." She says with a shake of her head. "Nothing." But there is something in the way she says it, in the way she's looking that tells Jasmine that something is up, that maybe she's lying.

He throws a dart at the board missing the bulls eye by an inch as Elena rants on the phone behind him to Jeremy's voicemail. "Jeremy, the minute you get this call me!" She hangs up with a huff of annoyance. "Unbelievable." She snaps.

"Well aren't you feisty when you're mad?" Damon comments with a smirk. "Must be a family trait."

"It's not that I'm mad, I'm just…I'm worried." She explains.

"But why? He lost his job at The Grill. He can survive Elena." He points out because losing a job doesn't seem like the end of the world to him.

"He's spiraling. Ever since Bonnie broke up with him, he is moody; he is not really talking to anyone."

"Typical teenager." Damon scoffs.

"Who is seeing ghost and has lost everyone he cares about." Damon turns away from Elena back to the dart board where he holds up a dart.

"Not everyone. He still has you and…"He trails off throwing the dart and watching it miss the bulls' eye completely.

"Are you okay?" Elena asks softly watching him move towards the board to retrieve the darts. He scoffs after grabbing them and turns back.

"What makes you think I'm not okay?"

"Well you're here for one and Adele is not." She says just as a waitress comes over handing Damon a takeout bag. He thanks her before holding it up to Elena.

"She's the reason I'm here." He confesses and Elena sighs.

"I know its hard Damon…watching her have to go through this. Not knowing what decision she'll make but you just…you have support her. That's all you can do." He clicks his tongue as he stands in front of her, his blue eyes looking troubled and he opens his mouth to say something before quickly closing it and grabbing her wrist.

"Don't mind me." Elena hears just as Damon is pushing her behind him and her eyes widen when she turns to see Klaus leaning against a table.

"You're going to do this in the Grill? In front of everyone? It's a little beneath you, don't you think?" Damon practically growls at the original.

"I don't know what you are talking about." Klaus says, forging innocence before turning towards the man behind him. "I just came down to my local pub to grab a drink with a mate." Elena's expression shows her mild surprise when she sees the man, the same man who had been following her during her morning jog and she's glad Damon isn't looking at her to notice. "Get a round in, would you Tony?" The man quickly walks away but not before sending a taunting smirk in Elena's direction.

"I'm surprised you stuck around town long enough for happy hour." Damon says, drawing Klaus attention away from Elena.

"My sister seems to be missing. Need to sort that out." Klaus informs watching for their reactions and getting none.

"Cute blonde bombshell? Psycho? Shouldn't be too hard to find." But Klaus is hardly paying much attention to him, instead gazing around at the tables and people closest to them.

"Well, I've noticed the obvious connection my sister has had with another cute blonde bombshell, was hoping maybe I'd find her in their company." A muscle in Damon's jaw visible jumps and Klaus smirks.

"Well she isn't." He all but snaps. "She's feeling a little under the weather at the moment; I'm taking care of her."

"Truth is…" Klaus quickly changes the subject much to Elena's relief. Adele was a sore subject to Damon on a regular day but more so today due to her untimely situation. "I've grown to rather like your little town. Think I might fancy a home here. Oh I imagine you're wondering how does this is affect you? The answer is: not in the slightest. Unless I get what I want and everyone behaves themselves you can go on living your little lives however you choose. You have my word."

"What more could you possibly want?" Elena asks, her voice giving away her fear. The idea that Klaus could want any more from them made her feel sick.

"Well for starters, you can tell me where I might find Stefan." He looks between the two, noting the way both tense up at the mention of their loved one. Something was going on, something he needed to figure out for the sole purpose of needing to know everything going on in town.

"Stefan…" The youngest Salvatore's name rolls of his older brother's tongue in such loathing that it almost surprises Klaus. "Skipped town the minute he saved your ass."

"Well you see that is a shame. Your brother stole from me. I need him found so I can take back what's mine." Elena straightens her back but doesn't dare move any closer or come out from behind Damon.

"That sounds like a Klaus and Stefan problem." Klaus takes a step towards the young brunette but is stopped by Damon, who steps even more so in front of her causing the hybrid to smirk.

"Well this is me broadening the scope, sweetheart."

*VD*

Adele's eyes move up from her phone at the sound of footsteps coming down the hall, footsteps she wouldn't usually be able to hear. The door to the bedroom cracks open and an arm clad in black leather shoots out holding a white takeout bag from The Grill and she practically moans at the sight she's so hungry.

He pushes the door completely open as he moves into the room with a small smirk. She leaves her phone consisting of text from everyone asking how she's feeling in the middle of the bed as she moves down towards the end. Damon hands the bag off to her when he reaches her and she immediately begins going through it.

"You got me cheese fries." She pulls the container out with a wide grin. "God, I love you." When he doesn't make even the slightest noise she glances up at him standing in front of her.

He's staring at her.

Again.

She sighs placing the container back in the bag before sitting back and crossing her legs. "Damon…Are you okay?" He blinks before nodding. "Seriously Damon, tell me the truth. You've been weird."

"I'm okay." He answers before frowning. "Maybe." He groans. "I don't know, Adele." Something tightens in her chest as he uses her actual name, something he rarely does. He moves away, towards the window. "I watched you die." He exclaims suddenly causing her to jump as he spins around to look at her. "You died in my arms. Do you have any idea what that did to me? And now…that I have you back I can't even bring myself to bask in the fact because I may lose you all over again."

"Damon…" She whispers.

"No. Adele, don't. I know…you need time to think, it's a big decision. I get it but while you're thinking about letting yourself die, I'm thinking about ways to make it hurt just little bit less if you do, which I know isn't freaking possible." He's yelling and she's holding back tears. "I just…I can't." He turns to make his way across the room to the door but she's on her feet and grabbing his wrist before she even realizes she's doing it.

"Please don't leave." She pleads in a small voice that has Damon almost choking because he's only ever heard her sound so vulnerable once before. "I'm scared and I know I'm hurting you right now but I need you." He swallows before reaching up to tangle his fingers into her hair, pulling her into his arms. She clings to him, her fingers gripping tight to his leather jacket as she breathes in his familiar scent, letting it wash over her.

"I almost lost myself." He whispers into her hair and she closes her eyes. "I couldn't stop it. Elena pleaded and I fought to keep it." She doesn't need him to tell her what "it" was. It was pretty clear to her what he was talking about. "But it was slipping away from me the more I thought about never seeing you again and then…you woke up. You shot off the bed and it was like I could breathe again." He pulls away, his hands cupping her face and she sucks in a breath at the sight of his frozen eyes, glazed over with tears. "You have no idea how much I need you and how much I love you Adele. If you die, if I lose you again…I will never be the same. I don't understand how I could have let someone have this much power over me but you do. Adele…you do."

*VD*

She sits, legs curled underneath her on one of the couches in the study while Damon pours them a drink. He's so involved in the task that he doesn't seem to notice when Klaus appears seemingly out of nowhere and Adele's eyes widen slightly. "Damon…" She calls gaining his attention and he turns almost dropping the glass in his hand when he sees him. He moves closer towards her without seeming to realize it.

"I think it's about time we had a drink, don't you?" The hybrid calls over the distance and Damon's already tense muscles tense even more so. He'd really rather not, at least not with Adele sitting a mere 10 feet away.

"I'd say were overdue." He gets out through clinched teeth. He could tell the original to get out but he knew it would be pointless; Klaus was going to do what he wants no matter what he says.

"Well you've been so busy…" Klaus's eyes fall on her and he trails off for a moment eyes narrowing as he studies her, his head tilting slightly before he turns back towards Damon. "With all your plotting and scheming."

"You know me," Damon's tone is bitter. "Never miss a chance to plan an epic failure." He turns away from Klaus to pour an extra glass of bourbon.

"Don't be so hard on yourself." Klaus smirk turns mocking. "Who could have guessed your own brother would betray you?"

"That's the thing with younger siblings; you just never know what they're going to do." He says as he turns back holding out the glass to him. "Drink?" Klaus takes the drink slowly, as if he expects the cup to be poisoned.

"Cheers mate." He says holding the glass up in a toast.

"Down the hatch." Damon mutters before downing the drink in a gulp, his eyes drifting over to Adele who continues to sit quietly on the couch, observing them. He'd much rather her find a way to go upstairs, he didn't much like the idea of her this close to Klaus on any regular basis but considering her condition and the way Klaus has already seemed to notice something was up didn't sit well with him.

"You know, we've actually got a lot in common you and I." Damon almost cringes at the possibility of that even being remotely true but decides to go along with it for the sake of finding out Klaus's end game to his random and unwanted visit.

"Really? Well, yeah. Maybe we can bond over our mutual loathing of my brother. Why are you so mad at him? He stole something?" Damon's tone is causal but it's clear to Adele and Klaus that he's fishing and Klaus is happy to give him what he wants.

"My family, the Originals. I had them daggered, boxed-up awaiting the day when I saw fit to wake them. And he went in and pinched the bloody lot." Klaus informs and Adele's eyes move over to Damon who is looking back at her with the same surprised expression.

"Of course he did." Damon finally responds. "Such a buzz kill my baby bro. Well, I'd love to find him. Just the trouble is I sure as hell don't work for you." Not to mention the simple fact that he doesn't want to find him. He's afraid of what he may do because its Stefan's fault their plan failed and in his mind its Stefan's fault Adele died, it's his fault she's in the predicament she's in now.

"You know, your drink stinks of vervain, so I can't compel you." Klaus says stepping closer to Damon and Adele can feel herself tensing, afraid of what he's going to do because she knows he's about to do something. "There'd be no point in killing you because you're actually the one with the most hope of getting me what I need. And yet it would seem a demonstration is in order. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough when I told you to find Stefan. Well, it seems you people respond best to displays of violence. Why don't you take this as an example of my reach?" He pulls out his phone speed dialing a number and Adele swings her legs off the couch, standing up to join Damon's side. He immediately wraps an arm around her waist, pulling her tightly against his side. "There he is! So, that thing I told you to do- why don't you go ahead and get on with it?" He says into the phone before hanging up.

"Who did you just call?" Adele asks in a whisper and Klaus's eyes move over her slowly before he hums, his lips pressing together.

"What happened to you?" He asks, in such a soft voice that she almost has to lean forward to hear him. She presses tighter into Damon's side, feeling exposed under his gaze. Damon doesn't give her the chance to answer. Now that his attention is on her, he wants nothing more than to rip the original's eyes out.

"We've had our drink. It's time for you to go." Klaus blinks moving his eyes towards the elder Salvatore before nodding.

"You're right." He smiles, that boyish smile at them. "I hope you both have a…lovely night." There is a dangerous glint in his eyes, the same dangerous glint Adele sees in Damon's eyes only this one doesn't excite her in the way his does, it makes her stomach turn in an unpleasant way.

When he's gone, Damon relaxes and tilts his head down to look at her. She has the chance to glance back only briefly before his lips are pressing into hers and he's pulling her around to him, pressing her tightly against him in that delicious way and heat explodes threw her body, making her toes curl as she leans into him hands winding into his hair.

It's the first real kiss he's given her since she woke up.

He backs her up until her knees hit one of the arm chairs and she falls back into it, he leans away from her to strip off his leather jacket and she helps him with his shirt pushing it over his head before he's pulling at hers almost ripping it in an attempt to get it get it off.

When he bends, his hands coming down to rest beside her head on the back of the chair trapping her and his lips meet hers again, his phone goes off loudly in his pocket. He pulls away with a growl. "Fuck!" He snaps moving away from her as he pulls it out and takes a seat on the floor beside her legs, leaning against the chair. "What?" He snaps into the device.

Adele is trying to even out her breathing as she listens. It's clearly Elena, she sounds almost hysterical. Adele is only able to catch the words, Alaric, hit, car, Jeremy, and compelled as Damon is tensing back up beside her legs. "We'll be right there." He grunts out before hanging up and hanging his head.

She leans forward brushing her finger tips along the back of his shoulders and he shivers at the contact. "What is it?"

"Klaus compelled Jeremy to stand in the middle of the road while one of his Hybrids tried to run him down." Damon explains and Adele's heart almost stops for a second time. "But he's fine." Damon assures already knowing of her mini-freak-out inside this would cause. "Alaric got to him in time and pushed him out of the way but was hit by the car. He had his ring."

"Well…" Adele stands ready to find her shirt that he's thrown somewhere in the room. "We should probably go." He catches her calf, pulling her in a way that she has to sit down, straddling his lap to catch herself from falling on him.

"I mean…" Damon leans up brushing his lips across hers. "He's not going to wake up for a few hours…"

"Damon…" Adele scolds with a smirk.

"I know, I know." He leans his forehead against hers closing his eyes. His grip on her thighs is uncomfortably tight, she doesn't think he realizes how tight. It was like he was afraid if he didn't hold on to her, she'd disappear. His eyes open and bore into hers and she sucks in a breath at the intensity of them. "I love you, so fucking much." He mummers and she reaches up cupping his face in her hands running her thumps over his cheekbones.

"I love you too."

*VD*

Adele is the first one Elena sees when the front door opens and it's a relief but also very surreal. Her sister pushes her Ray-Bans into her hair as the door is closed behind Damon, blocking out the sunlight which looks to be a relief for her as she rushes over, bending down to Alaric.

"How is he?" Elena feels like crying at the sound of her sister's voice but makes the effort to hold herself together.

"He's dead, but he had his ring. Klaus's hybrid hit him. Now we just wait." She explains and Adele's intense blue eyes move over to Jeremy sitting against the wall.

"Jeremy…" She calls and he looks up seeming surprised to see her and she ignores when his eyes widen at her overall appearance. She understands it's not easy to see. "Why aren't you wearing your vervain?" She looks towards his wrist. "Where is your bracelet?"

He glances down at his wrist just now noticing the missing bracelet. "I don't know." He answers.

"It was Tyler." Elena says. "It had to have been. That's why he was hanging out with you. To get you off the vervain." Adele lets out a sigh turning back towards Alaric. He's got open gashes that are still bleeding and Adele's eyes fall to a practically deep one, following the drop of blood that runs down his cheek. She swallows as the burning in the throat that she'd been able to ignore earlier becomes more intense. So out of it, she doesn't even realize that Damon has come up behind her or that he's started talking.

He catches her by her upper arms making her jump as he forces her to her feet and moves her away from Alaric, across the room with him as he's talking about Klaus sending them a message, about him wanting to find Stefan and his coffins. She can't help but feel slightly ashamed at herself for losing focus that quickly but Damon's reassuring hand on her lower back is a good distraction.

"Coffins?" Elena asks, clearly confused.

"Yep." Damon answers. "So all we have to do is find four coffins and voila no one else on your family's Christmas list needs to die."

"Wait, that's your big plan? To steal back four dead originals so this evil hybrid doesn't kill me and everyone else we know?" Jeremy asks, his tone boarding on disbelief.

"You got a better idea?" Damon asks the younger Gilbert.

"Yeah!" He exclaims. "Let's get the hell out of here! Pack our bags and go!"

"Hey…" Elena calls out to him. "Jeremy, calm down."

"No, no! I'm not going to calm down, Elena! This happens every time, no matter what we do! Get on my case about school and work, who cares? None of us are going to make it out of this town alive. Adele…" Her eyes snap up at her name. "Has already died, it's a miracle she's even here right now!" She visible flinches as Jeremy throws up his arms, to frustrated to keep talking as he decides to just leave the room.

There are a few minutes of silence before Elena turns towards them. "He said he wants his family back."

"No." Damon snaps. "No. I know what you're thinking, the answer is no."

Elena's eyes fall on Adele who shrugs a shoulder. "I completely agree. What you're thinking isn't good or smart on your part, Elena."

"If we give him Rebekah back…" She starts to try to reason but Adele cuts her off.

"Then Klaus undaggers her and the first thing she does is kill you." She points out.

"Frying pan, fire…not an option." Damon adds and Elena lets out a harsh breath of annoyance.

"Klaus's coffins…" She mutters. "How many did you say there were?"

*VD*

"Seriously?" Adele groans as there nearing the old abandoned witch house. "This place? I hate this place." Damon grins down at her, because he knows exactly how she feels. She wasn't too fond of Witches either besides Jasmine and even Damon had to admit that Jasmine wasn't like any other witch. She didn't hate the mere existence of vampires which made her so much more tolerable than most.

"I thought Bonnie said this place lost all its mojo?" Damon asks Elena who nods her head.

"The dead witches were angry at her for bringing Jeremy back to life. I guess now they have something they want her to know." She explains.

"I hate witches." Damon declares. "So fickle…" He's muttering as they climb the steps of the porch. "Passive aggressive..." They enter and Adele has the urge to turn around and run, something about the vibe made her skin crawl. It felt like she was suddenly unwelcomed, not that she felt truly welcomed when she was here before but now it was just…more noticeable, she wasn't able to push it away like before.

She freezes but not because she wanted to, her feet just refused to move kind of like she'd been glued to the floor. "Damon…" She calls and he makes the mistake of stopping in direct sunlight to look back at her. His skin starts to burn, bubbling and sizzling and he groans in pain flashing over to one of the dark corners.

"Really?" Damon calls into the air. "Still?"

"What?" Elena asks.

"Witchy spirits aren't a big fan and they use their juju to screw with my daylight ring." He explains and Adele throws up her hands causing them to look at her.

"I can't move." She exclaims and Damon frowns.

"Are you kidding?" He calls. "She's not even a vampire yet."

"You both can wait outside." Elena says causing Adele to call her name in warning. She doesn't want her sister going further into the house alone.

"I'm not leaving until I know he's here." She says before walking off knowing neither of them could stop her. Damon looks towards her.

"Ready?" He asks and she frowns opening her mouth to ask what he means but he flashes away from the corner groaning when his skin begins burning again, as he's rushing by, he grabs her by the waist and she shirks as she's hurled backwards. They land awkwardly on the grass; Damon sprawled beneath her as she lays half on top of him. "Well that was fun." He groans and she rolls away pushing herself up to her knees. She glares back up at the house.

"I'm not a vampire. Why the hell did they do that?"

"You're in transition and you're dating me. It's a good enough reason for them." She huffs crawling back over to him as he makes no move to sit up from the grass. She lays down beside him and he gazes over at her, taking in her pale face. It's still a bit unnerving to look at her but he's quickly getting used to it. She's still as beautiful if not more so now, her eyes are brighter and more intense to look at and the freckles lining her nose and cheekbones are more noticeable much to her dismay but his glee. He remembers when she'd first looked in the mirror after waking up and hearing her curse them from the bathroom. No matter how much she hates them, he loves them. They give her a sort of childish innocence.

The later it got in the day, the more he starts to notice that she was slowly beginning to look drained and his chest tightens at the thought that she only has so many hours left.

He shifts digging around in his pocket for something and when he pulls it out, her eyes widen. "I know you haven't made a decision but when we took that trip to Richmond over the summer and I saw this I had to get it." He hands the sliver anklet over to her and she takes in the infinity charm and the two Lapis Lazuli's charms on each side. "The sun is going down, which means…you only have a few hours left. I know I can't make the decision for you Adele, but I can beg. I can beg you not to leave me again. Don't put me through that again."

She runs one of the stones between her fingers feeling the smoothness of it before leaning over and pressing her lips to the corner of his, she doesn't have the chance to say anything –doesn't have the chance to tell him that she had already made her decision but hadn't had the chance to tell him before all the stuff with Alaric happened, before Elena is storming out of the house looking both mad and ready to cry.

They stumble to their feet. "I'm guessing that didn't go well." Damon calls and Elena glares.

"Don't start Damon."

"Let me talk to him."

"You can't get in!" Elena snaps. "The witches won't let you!"

Damon sighs turning to Adele. He holds out his keys and she grins, wide and joyful. He snatches them back when she grabs for them. "Take her home, deal with your brother, while I deal with mine and be careful."

"Of course." She practically purrs when the keys are in her hands. She turns to Elena. "Let's go. Hurry up." Damon shakes his head grinning as he watches her disappear, so happy that she's almost skipping, it would be the first time he's let her drive his car.

He turns back to the house and with a deep breathe rushes inside. He presses himself into a wall halfway to Stefan, his breathing hard as he tries to block out the pain of burning alive and when he reaches the room, he throws himself in huddling on the floor for a second to regain strength he knows he's going to need a moment.

"Wow…" Stefan's voice fills the room and Damon can feel his blood begin to boil over with untamed anger. "That was impressive." He gets up from the chair he's sitting in, to walk towards his older brother who is pushing himself from the floor. "But the coffins aren't here, so...You can go away now."

"I don't care about the coffins." Damon snaps standing up into the direct sunlight and he groans loudly stepping away from it when he begins to burn again. "We need to talk." He breathes.

"Okay, let's talk." Stefan smirks, taunting him and Damon sighs.

"Nothing is ever easy with you is it?" Stefan only raises an eyebrow, his smirk never leaving until Damon rushes at him, grabbing him by the sides of his jacket and forcing him out of the room. They hit a wall and Stefan tries hard to push him away, into the light so he'll let him go but Damon isn't letting up and he's able to throw him from the house onto the grass where he kicks him in the stomach sending him tumbling to the side as he reaches up and breaks a branch off a nearby tree. He shoves it into Stefan's gut. "That is for screwing up my plan! You stop me from killing Klaus, Adele dies and you steal his family! Why? Doesn't make sense!" He twists the tree branch further into Stefan's gut. "Answer me!"

"Piece by piece Klaus took everything from me. I'm doing the same to him." Stefan explains his motives but it isn't enough for Damon who twist the branch again.

"But I had him, Stefan! Why did you screw it up?" He demands.

"I did it to save you!" Stefan yells surprising Damon enough to be able to throw him off. He sits up pulling the branch out.

"What?" Damon exclaims. "No! No way! You didn't do this for me!"

"He was one step ahead of us. If Klaus died, his hybrids would have killed you." Stefan tells him and Damon pushes himself to his knees grabbing the branch.

"When are you going to get it through your head," He groans before shoving the branch back into the still healing wound in Stefan's gut causing the younger Salvatore to fall back to the ground. "Stop saving me!" he stands ready to walk away before Stefan pulls the branch back out and sits up again.

"I'm the one who stopped you from killing Klaus but how do you think I found out about what would happen to you? Katherine told me but Katherine is selfish and she wanted Klaus dead, she wouldn't have come to me unless someone else told her to and guess who that was?" Stefan calls and Damon stops, turning back to look at him. "Adele." He says and Damon's lips press together.

"You're lying." He snaps.

"I'm not! She overheard Klaus talking to Katherine. Katherine explained what would happen if Klaus wasn't killed, she knew she was going to die but she still made Katherine get me to stop you. Katherine was all for letting you die, Adele wasn't. How do you think she's even still alive? Huh?" Stefan spits blood on the ground.

"She doesn't know! She doesn't remember!" Damon growls.

"She's lying." Stefan groans falling back to the ground and Damon feels he's heard enough.

*VD*

Adele returns to the house with Elena to check up on Alaric, she figures she can at least do that before heading back to the boarding house just so she can crawl into bed and wait for Damon to get back.

When they enter the house they find him moving slowly around the couch. "Hey." Elena calls softly. "When did you return to the land of the living?" She asks and he looks up eyes skimming over Elena to land on her and he gets that same expression everyone else does when seeing her for the first time since she woke up. She sends him a small smile.

"Just a few minutes ago. How's Jeremy?" He finally asks.

"Hating me, hating life, hating the fact that we can't even have a family dinner without somebody dying before dessert." Elena says but Adele is too focused on the way his face scrunches up in pain to hear her words.

She steps forward. "Ric, are you okay?" She asks just before he coughs into his hand, spitting blood into it and Elena gasps.

"Something's wrong." He says. "The ring…" He trails off collapsing forward but Adele catches him before he can hit the ground lowering him down softly before quickly moving away. The smell of blood in the air is making her sick with hunger, the burning of her throat almost unbearable.

"Call 911." She snaps out to Elena, her voice sounding rough, thick with hunger and Elena gives her a worried look as she leans heavily against the staircase.

"Adele…" She tries but Adele waves her off.

"Call 911, Elena! Now!" She jumps pulling her phone from her pocket quickly and dialing the number. She tells them what's going on and stutters out there address before turning back.

"Adele you look like you're going to be sick."

"I'm fine." She assures.

"Adele, it's getting late." She glances at the clock on the wall almost choking when she sees the time. "You don't have much time left." She squeaks and Adele finally lifts her eyes to look at her and Elena is struck by how sick she's beginning to look. Her face is thinning out, her eyes dimming and her skin is taking on a greyish hue.

"I know." She says quietly. "Don't worry about me Elena…"

"Don't worry about you? Are you kidding me? Adele you're going to die if you don't drink soon!" She's almost yelling and Adele is wincing at the noise.

"I know that!" She snaps and Elena throws her arms up.

"Then why haven't you done it yet?" Elena's brown eyes are wide, filling quickly with tears as Adele doesn't respond. "…You're not going to."

"I didn't say that." Adele whispers but Elena is already shaking her head.

"You didn't have to. Adele…" Adele leans her head back on the wall.

"I'm sorry Elena…"

"Don't! Don't do that! Don't say you're sorry! You can't do this! You can't let yourself die!"

"I'm scared!" Adele shouts causing Elena to freeze. "I'm scared…of becoming something I can't control. Of becoming someone I'm not, Elena, becoming someone I hate."

"You…Adele no. You could never. You'll learn control, Adele. You're strong and you can survive anything." Elena says.

"God…" Adele meets her eyes. "You guys hold me on a pedestal; don't you understand what that does to me? I can't be the hero all the time Elena, I can't be strong all the time! I died and I'm terrified of dying again but I'm more terrified of becoming a vampire. There's just so much I don't know and that terrifies me Elena!"

"We can't lose you." Elena cries and Adele closes her eyes. "You have no idea how many of us need you, Jeremy and Alaric and Damon and Me. I need you alive, I need you here." The sound of sirens outsides stops Elena from saying any more and she quickly moves over to the door. She swings it open as two EMT's make it up the porch steps.

"What happened?" The one on the right asks and she moves the door further open letting them see Alaric on the floor.

"He got hit by a car and…"They move past her into the house. "He's coughing up blood."

The EMT on the left tells the other to get his vitals and Adele is watching as they move around him. "Pulse pretty weak, looks like internal bleeding. We got to get him outta here."

"Let's move."

"Let's not and say we did." Adele's head snaps over to the door and she pushes herself off balancing herself on her feet when the world spins. One of Klaus's hybrids is standing in the doorway smirking in at them. The EMT's are looking at him when he says, "Why don't you two meet us at the hospital?" And they start to leave, packing up there things and walking towards the door.

"No, no, no, wait. No wait!" Elena yells after them. "You have to help him! What are you doing?" But they disappear into the truck and drive away. Adele takes a few steps over, to see the hybrid better.

"You can still save his life, Elena." He holds up his wrist to show them. "Here, take my blood." When neither of them says anything, he puts his hand down and looks up at the door way. "I can't get in. You're going to have to invite me."

"Absolutely not." Adele snaps right away scowling at the hybrid.

"Why are you doing this?" Elena demands.

"Klaus asked for his family. You didn't deliver." He says. Alaric starts coughing and while Elena quickly moves over to him Adele takes a step away.

"Ric, oh my god. It's okay, I'm right here." She sooths and the hybrid makes a noise in the doorway.

"Might want to invite me in, Elena." Adele glances down at her sister who looks ready to do it.

"No." She growls out stepping into his line of sight and his eyes narrow in on her dangerously. He's about to open his mouth when there's a sound of a cross-bow being released and he sucks in a breath before twisting around and falling. The arrow stuck in his back is made of wood and Jeremy is standing on walk way leading to the porch with the cross-bow still raised. Elena rushes up beside her. "Jeremy." Adele breaths out as he drops the bow and darts up the porch steps.

"He's not dead yet." Jeremy says pushing past them and into the house.

"Where are you going?" Elena calls after him as he disappears into the kitchen only to return a minute later with a butcher knife in his hand. "What are you doing?" She asks as he steps back out onto the porch. He looks up at them once before raising the knife and bringing it down on the hybrids neck. Elena lets out a shirk as Adele jumps quickly turning away.

"Now he's dead." She barely hears Jeremy say past the ringing in her ears as she stares straight ahead at the wall.

*VD*

Elena is sitting on the couch when he comes through the front door, she's staring at the blank T.V screen and he can see Adele in the kitchen standing over the sink and he can hear the running water, considering the lack of blood on the porch he figures he knows what she's doing.

He makes his way into the kitchen. "Did you get rid of him?" Her soft voice calls, cracking slightly and he understands why. She looks tired and when he checks his phone, he realizes just how little time she has left.

"Yeah." He answers; he decides he's not going to mention the time or his talk with Stefan, not yet anyways. He will though. "Tony the headless hybrid is down at the bottom of Steven's Quarry."

"How's Alaric?"

"Took care of him too. He'll be fine. How is Elena? How are you?"

"I think I got most of the blood off the porch." She answers ignoring his questions.

"Kitten…" She freezes because it's the first time today he's called her that. "Look at me." She twist around to look back at him. "It's going to be okay." She nods silent for a moment before she takes the bottle of bleach from the sink and lays it on the counter making her way over to stand in front of Damon as she reaches up with a hand stained in blood and uses the back of it to push hair from her face.

"I have to tell you something." And he holds his breath, because he doesn't know if she's finally made a decision. He figures she has…considering the time it is and everything. "Elena made a deal with Klaus. She gave him Rebekah."

"What?" Damon snaps. "No. No. No. No. She didn't do that. You didn't let her do that. She's going to come after her, try and kill her!"

"Klaus won't let her because he needs her." Adele says and Damon scoffs.

"And suddenly you're going to trust him?"

"No." She snaps. "I don't trust him but what other choice did we have? I don't trust Stefan. Do you think he's just going to give up the coffins?"

"My brother is sort of running his own show right now." Damon says and Adele moves away from him.

"Yeah and my brother just chopped someone's head off!" She practically yells and he straightens up looking like she slapped him. She shakes her head. "It's not right." Her voice cracks again. "It's not fair, Damon. He's 16 years old. He shouldn't have to live like this."

"Adele…" Damon tries but she continues on.

"There has to be another way, we have to fix this." She turns away from him back towards the sink but Damon grabs her by the waist with one hand twist her back around and cupping her neck with the other.

"We will…" She fights his hold but he tightens it, pushing her against him. "Adele…" She gives up and meets his eyes. "We will, okay?"

She nods. "I have an idea. Elena and I talked about it." He tilts his head to the side, furrowing his brows at her. "I want you to compel him."

*VD*

Adele knocks on the doorframe of Jeremy's room with Elena and Alaric behind her, catching Jeremy's attention as he turns away from his dresser. He takes her in before his eyes shift to Elena and Alaric behind her. "Can we talk?" She asks and he nods moving towards his bed.

"Did they get you to come up here and yell at me too?" He looks her over again. "You're dying aren't you?"

"That's not important right now Jer." He wants to disagree but takes a seat on the bed instead and she moves into the room.

"I've been thinking about what you said. About how we should pack up and go…" Jeremey's brows furrow as he watches her cross her arms across her chest.

"Adele, I didn't mean anything of that." He assures her but she still sends him a small smile.

"But you were right. You shouldn't have to give up a normal life just because of us." Red flags pop up in his mind as Damon appears in the doorway as well.

"What's going on?" He asks.

"Your sisters think we should have another one of our talks." He says in a soft voice Jeremy doesn't usually hear from Damon and he looks back at Adele who sends him an apologetic smile as Damon sits beside him.

"Here's the thing Jer," Jeremy looks at him and he immediately can't look away, his expression flattening out into nothing. "You're going to go out of town for a while, a long while. You're going to stay with some nice family friends in Denver, you're going to be at a new school, you'll meet new girls, living girls. You're going to drink a few beers, take an art class. You do whatever you want."

"Tell him he's going to leave Mystic Falls behind and never think twice about it." Alaric speaks up and Damon turns towards Adele whose blue eyes are full of tears that are just beginning to fall. She nods at him and he turns back.

"You're going to leave Mystic Falls behind and never think twice about it. You're going have a better life, Jeremy."

*VD*

After having him compel Jeremy to sleep, Damon decided it was time he took Adele home and she didn't do anything to put up a fight. Elena walks them to the front porch and Adele asks Damon to wait in the car. He hesitates before nodding and walking off, checking the time on his phone once again.

"I feel like a horrible person." Elena says when he's in the car and Adele nods because she knows how she's feeling.

"We saved his life." She tells her. "Take it from me Elena…strange is bad but dead is worse."

"I just can't stop thinking about what happened the last time we asked Damon to compel him." Elena says reminding her of the Vicki situation.

"He found out and he got over it but again: not dead, Elena." Elena stops pacing to look over to her and the tears that she managed to stop in the house come flooding back when she realizes what it means that Adele is leaving to go back to the boarding house.

"So is this it?" She asks. "Is this the last time I'm going to see you?"

"Elena…"

"No, Adele. I can't stand the idea of you just giving up. We need you here weather you realize it or not. I don't know what we'd do without you." Elena is saying and Adele looks over towards the Camaro before sighing.

"You should know Elena that Stefan didn't betray us…" Elena frowns. "Well he did but he didn't do it alone."

"What are you talking about?"

"It was me." Adele says and Elena takes a wide step back, the shock almost knocking her over. Adele looks back towards the car to see Damon standing outside of it now, looking up at her. She knows he can hear her, which is good. She won't have to explain it twice.

Adele finds Elena and she has the urge to go over to her when she sees Klaus standing in front of her but she has to remind herself that it isn't Elena. Damon decided it would be too dangerous for Elena to be anywhere near Klaus and there for he brought in the decoy. Katherine. She thinks about walking away but stops herself. She can hear them and she's curious.

"You seem nervous." Klaus is saying to her, a beer in his right hand.

"I'm not nervous, I just don't like you." Katherine sasses and she has to admit that Katherine is getting a little too good at playing her sister.

"People have been after me for a thousand years and I'm always one step ahead." Klaus reminds her. "So whatever it is you're thinking of trying, go for it. Give it your best shot. You won't succeed."

"It won't be for a lack of trying." Katherine says.

"Ah." Klaus gets this smirk on his face, one that says nothing good is about to come out of his mouth and it has her tensing at the sight. "You'd be smart to tell Damon to mind his manners tonight because if I die I've already ensured that he'll die along with me." She lets out a harsh breath as Kathrine's brown eyes widen slightly. "Even in death my hybrids have their orders. So, you kill me you're killing him too."

He turns, spotting her standing there and sends her a charming smile before stalking off. She turns back and Katherine meets her eyes. "So…" Katherine throws her arms up once Klaus is far enough away, swallowed up by the noisy party goers. "Oh wise one, what do you suggest we do about this little turn of events? Ignore it? That would be my choice, of course."

She sends her a heavy glare as she climbs the steps up to stand in front of Katherine. "No." She snaps gazing around at the party. "Go get Stefan." She finally says much to her own surprise.

"What?" Katherine snaps. "Stefan? The no humanity Stefan? The one who could care less? The one who wants his freedom back to no possible end? That one?"

"Yes. That one."

"Are you crazy? If you're looking to save Damon that is not the way." She crosses her arms, her hip poking out to the side in what Damon likes to call her "Sassy bitch stance."

"You may have spent a few months playing them back in 1864 but you don't know a thing about them. If there is anyone who is going to save Damon even if it means Klaus lives, it's going to Stefan, humanity or no humanity."

"Well sure but there's also one other little problem." Kathrine smirks. "You."

"What?"

"Mikael has put a threat out on your life. If anything goes wrong and Klaus doesn't end up dead, you're dead instead." Kathrine shrugs like it's no big thing and she straighten up.

"Go get Stefan." She says again after a moment of thought.

"Are you kidding me?" Katherine finally snaps, the whole indifference act fading away. "What is with you two? Seriously I mean if Damon isn't being the noble lover and trying to die for you, you're trying to die for him! I mean come on; you can't have a real relationship if you're both dead."

"You don't understand Kathrine…" She steps forward, closer to Katherine as she realizes she's probably the only one out of her whole group of friends who would step so boldly up to her the way she does. "Because you've never loved anyone more than you love yourself. Go. Get. Stefan."

"I can't be the one to let you throw your life away. It's bad enough I have Klaus hunting me down, I don't need Damon hunting me down as well mostly for the fact that he'd be the one to actually find me."

She shrugs, her own act of indifference coming into play. "I guess you're going to have to cross that bridge when it comes huh?" Katherine's brown eyes rank over her before something clicks in them and she's shaking her head.

"I'm so going to regret this." Without enough warning to fend her off, Adele tries jerking back when Katherine reaches forward yanking her locket from her neck and pulling her forward by the back of the neck. She bites harshly into her wrist before pressing the bleeding wound to her lips and she struggles against the vampire as the coopery tasting liquid slides down her throat.

When she finally pulls it away, she makes her meet her eyes. "You will remember nothing, you never saw Klaus and me talking, you never even saw me."

"So that's how you're still here?" Elena whispers. "Katherine gave you her blood? But why? Katherine hates you, more then she hates me."

"I've chalked it up to not wanting the wrath of Damon if he we're to ever find out about her doing nothing to stop me from getting myself killed." Adele shrugs.

"But…you're still going to die so…the attempt failed anyways." Elena says and Adele's eyes meet hers from across the porch and something in them makes Elena realize that she's wrong.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Elena." And her sister turns leaving the porch causing Elena to snap out of her shock and she finds herself running after her. Adele turns around just in time for Elena to crash into her, her arms winding tightly around her neck and Adele hugs her back.

*VD*

Damon hands her the glass and she takes it with a shaking hand staring down at the crimson liquid. Damon takes a look at his phone once again. "You have only minutes left Adele." She glances up at him only briefly.

"I know." She whispers but she doesn't make a move to drink the contents of the glass.

"Adele…" She snaps her eyes up to him, his blue eyes are frantic. "Minutes." He says.

"I'm scared." She confesses and he steps closer reaching out his hand to cup her cheek as his thumb runs across her bottom lip.

"I know you are but you have to trust me when I say you're going to be okay." She glances back down at the glass. "Adele…just trust me. You have to trust me."

"I do trust you." She brings the glass up but pauses before she can take a sip. "I trust you." She mummers.

"Then drink, Kitten."

She closes her eyes and with a deep breath she gulps the blood in the glass down like a shot. It taste nasty at first but as she lets it settle she finds that the after taste is sweet and delicious and it leaves a burning hunger that spreads through her veins causes her to open her eyes.

Damon stares. It's all he feels he can do. No matter how hard to tries he can't bring himself to move. His blue eyes are wide, his lips parted and his breathing harsh as he looks at her.

Her complexion is normal again, not tan but pale and smooth the greyish tint she'd gotten as time went on is gone. Two sharpened K9s poke at her bottom lip and the veins under her eyes pulse and move under the skin. Her eyes…her eyes are darkened to the point where they look black and the whites are filled with blood.

She's so beautiful, so beautiful and she looks so dangerous.

He figures this is what a demon would look like if he ever saw one.

Her eyes move past him, to the open blood bag on the coffee table next to her locket that he had her take off and he glances at it quickly, moving back and snatching it up. He holds it up watching as her dark eyes follow it. He holds it out and she meets his eyes before snatching it from him and ripping into it.

When it's empty, she lets it fall from her hands and he watches the blood drip from her chin as she licks her bottom lip. When his eyes make it back to hers, he finds them focused on him an uncontrolled emotion in them that has his own fangs threatening to come out.

In two long strides he's in front of her taking her face in his hands and pressing his lips to hers. Her fingers immediately tangle themselves into his hair, he can taste the blood on her lips and he almost groans.

She backs him up, much like he had done to her earlier and breaks away long enough to push him down into the arm chair and straddle his lap. She grins against his lips, her hands working on getting his leather jacket off his shoulders. "This is going to be so much fun." She mummers and he laughs because he was thinking the same thing.
