Chapter 4-

No one's POV-

Ash had spent most of her time after she got home and the next day editing the photos she took with Paul and Embry. There were some really rough ones in her opinion that would never see the light of day but the best ones she saved and wrote concepts for. Her absolute favourite was off the cliff, and she spent all night before school just thinking of the perfect concept. She couldn't wait to go back.

When the first day of school came her mothers were more excited than she was, and Ash just wanted the day to be over already.

All her parents were present, her father ready to drive her since he knew the layout and her mothers making her a good first day breakfast and lunch. Bryah had laid out Ash's outfit for the first day like she always had because she knew her daughter could care less.

Bryah always felt that the first step to a good impression is how people see you. She didn't want her daughter to have anything against her whether it be style or her personality. She laid out a light cream-colored sweater, light blue jeans and some cream boots. She even went as far as to lay out jewelry and had her book bag packed. She was definitely a worrier, and she would never deny it if you asked.

Ash got dressed in everything her mother had out for her and added her own touch which was some gloss and smoky vanilla perfume. It was the only perfume she could handle that wasn't too sweet or floral. It was calming and subtle and people could only smell it if they were really close to her.

The last thing she did was put her braids up in a bun and leave two of them down at her temple. Ash didn't really know what to say about her look but if she were to guess she thanks she would be described as cute.

Ash soon went downstairs to eat breakfast. Eyana had made a lot of food in an array of variety just so her kid could have options. Well, that was one reason, the other was that she was stressed and when she's stressed, she cooks. She was so worried her daughter would find it hard to fit in or make friends or, God forbid, ditch school because she found the woods to be more fascinating. These were all valid concerns because in her mind Ash was unpredictable.

Terrell was the only one not nervous about his daughter's first day. She was a smart young woman, more responsible than most kids her age and had learned some ok social skills that would make her friendly enough with people. Her younger habits did cross his mind, but he hadn't seen the worst of them yet, so he was good. As long as his daughter was ok psychically, mentally and emotionally then everything was great in his life.

Terrell and Ash left soon after in his silver pickup truck that his daughter adored. The ride to school was peaceful and gave her time to think, to prepare for all the eyes on her, all the questions they asked new girls and all the people she would have to say hi to. Ash could just feel her social battery being drained at the thought of it and decided to allow herself a moment of comfort.

She lightly placed her hand in her dads and left it there and let it ground her. He didn't grip her hand but moved it, so his daughter's hand fit more comfortably. They continued the rest of the way in comfortable silence.

Alice's POV-

You would think having been to school so many times already I would be bored but I just keep finding it entertaining. Humans were the most constant and changing creatures to walk the earth. They shared so many similarities that their slight differences were always a treat to find. That's why Bella was so different and so much more fun to me.

From the first time I had met her, matter of fact, I saw her, she had been out of step with everyone else. Coming from Arizona yet managing to be so pale, being so quiet and having everyone make so much noise about her. And the best was that when she found out about my family, she wasn't afraid, she was even more attracted to Edward more than before. If I was being honest, I was more amused by her than interested. She was fun to tease, to dress up and to see her look up to Edward was probably the funniest thing to happen in my eighty plus years of being a vampire.

I further began to smile when I heard the noise her truck made coming into the school parking lot. I was the first and only Cullen to come over and give her a hug when she got out.

"Bella." I smiled at her brightly.

She hugged me back very limply and awkwardly. "Hey Alice." She pulled back just as awkwardly. I started pulling her to meet Eward halfway who quickly was attached to her side.

Didn't you just see her this morning and sleepover at her place?

He raised an eyebrow in my direction.

Just saying. You two are so attached it's adorable.

He rolled his eyes at me and started pulling Bella away. She waved goodbye at me, and I just kept smiling at them. Creepy, cute and awkward never suited anyone better.

Class was about to start soon, and all my entertainment was already gone so I headed back to Jasper ready to walk us to first period when something unexpected happened. A silver GMC Sierra rolled into the farthest parking space. With my eyes I saw them better than even the closet teenagers trying to sneak a peek into the truck.

I was seeing Terrell, a friendly man and accountant, talking to a young woman in the passenger seat. There was a strong resemblance between them, both sharing the same lips and nose and fox shaped eyes. It wasn't hard to tell they were related.

"I didn't know Terrell had a daughter." I commented to Jasper who hummed in agreement. The whole parking lot's attention was on them, and we all collectively trained our eyes on the girl getting out of the car.

Pretty.

I'm so happy Edward wasn't around to read my mind. He would be too distracted from Bella hearing my thoughts on how beautiful i thought thai girl was and believe me, she was beautiful. Not in the way Bella was with an innocence and pureness to her, it was entirely different.

She walked with no extra movement and seemed comfortable in her body. Her deep brown skin still held a healthy glow that would eventually dull thanks to forks' weather. Fashionably she was dressed to be comfortable but stand out. She didn't care that we were all staring at her with interest or that she was the newest thing to happen in this town since Bella. She walked away from us with purpose, and I liked that.

"Looks like we're getting another new girl." Jasper sighed. "Let's hope she isn't as much trouble as Bella."

"I don't see any so we're fine." I assured him. Actually, I started looking for her future and couldn't see anything beyond what decisions she made now. There was no future to really speak of because she hadn't made her mind up yet. All I saw was her going through her day and then heading home. Not much after that.

"She's sort of a blank slate." I told Jasper as we started walking to our first class.

"You can't see her?" He asked.

"I can see her just fine. It's just that she doesn't seem to want much. At least now you know for sure she won't cause any problems."

He snorted unconvinced but let the subject slide. I guess we're off the topic of the new girl.

For now.

Bella's POV-

Annoying. All the noise, talking and bodies were nothing more than annoying. Forks was a small town, and nothing ever really happened here so what could they really have to talk about. Last year it was me and since I didn't really care what they were talking about I just wanted them to be quiet.

"Are you ok?" Edward ask's me concerned. Even after being together for a couple of months, he still looked annoyed he can't read my mind. I thought he would have given up by now but it's just not in his nature.

I nodded my head. "I just want to be somewhere quiet." He looked at me before moving his hand from my waist to my hand and leading us out the building.

"I guess we're skipping school." I remarked. Edward smirked but said nothing. We were just far enough that no one could see us when he picked me up bridal style and ran us to our spot. Immediately my mood became better. We sat down among the flower field just comfortably looking at each other.

This is a perfect moment if there were any. Just me, Edward and nobody else. This was my form of heaven.

I moved closer to him and rested my head on his stone chest. I didn't mind how cold he was anymore, but I still hated how I could notice it. I curled further into him just so there was barely any separation in our beings.

I sighed, comfortable in our bubble but there was still a nagging in the back of my head. "What were they gossiping about this time?"

"A new girl."

I was surprised. "A new girl? Why would anyone want to willingly move to Forks?"

"You did." He reminded me.

"That's different." I sat up and narrowed my eyes on him. "It just doesn't make sense."

He shrugged, lifting his left hand to play with the ends of my hair. "Not everything has to make sense Bella. You trying to figure everything out is how you ended up here with me." I smiled and leaned back down so I could hug his side. I let the topic drop for now but was still curious. I wanted to know who she was, why she was here, why she would willingly move here.

Humans were never so interesting to me before now.

No One's POV-

People loved drama. They couldn't help but want to watch other people be dramatic or something bad happen to happen or if something outlandish started. Point is people are nosy. They would rather stare at the new girl than just saying hi. A few who were bold enough and friendly enough did greet Ash and welcomed her to forks but left soon after, most likely to tell their friends about the brief interaction.

But just saying hi to the new girl isn't worthy. It was doing whatever Tyler Crowley was about to do that made the news and filled their gossip meters to the brim.

Tyler, unaware of this, approached Ash on dare by his friends. He started walking next to her when she got within reach and thought of what to say.

"Hi." He said to her,

Ash, who wasn't aware there was even anybody near her, was surprised to see Tyler with a warm smile and slightly nervous. Her interest was piqued for the first time today.

She stopped completely and gave the boy her full attention which just made him more nervous. "Hi."

"I'm Tyler." He held out her hand to shake and she did. She noticed he felt warm, and his shake was firm.

"I'm Ash."

"Is that short for anything like Ashanti or Ashley?" He asked, releasing her hand.

"It's short for something I just don't like saying my full name." She shrugged. Ash even knew how awkward her name was, but she didn't mind it. Ash was cute and Naia (which was originally going to be Nia) was cute but together it was a nightmare. "So, are you going to tell me the real reason you approached me, or can I head to class?"

Tyler winced at being found out. "Sorry."

"It's fine. You're the most amusing person to come up to me today that didn't immediately leave after saying hi. And I could kind of feel you and your friends looking at me."

"Truth?" She nodded her head. He came closer to whisper in her ear, almost forgetting what he was going to say when he smelled her perfume. "Um, my friends dared me to kiss you on the cheek like I did Bella last year when she was our new girl."

"And what do I get out of it?" Ash asked, not opposed to the kiss since he didn't try it after getting found out.

"Anything you want if you agree." He pulled out his puppy dog eyes that would normally make a girl say aww but just weirded Ash out. "Please agree or else I have to do their pre-calc homework for the rest of the month."

Ash felt the strong urge to laugh but managed to hold it back and instead opted for a small smile. It felt a bit foreign on her face considering it was rare she smiled, especially at people she just met. Tyler may just be a special case, his attention could be fleeting, but Ash wanted to get to know him just a bit longer before she grew bored of him, or he got tired of her.

"Deal but that means you owe me a favor." He quickly agreed. Ash titled her cheek up for him to kiss it and felt his soft lips on her skin only for a second. She didn't actually feel anything from it, honestly it was disappointing, but it wasn't completely terrible either. When they pulled back everybody's attention was on them. Tyler tried displaying a confident facade but was very embarrassed by the whole thing and Ash didn't care about them. She cared about Tyler, thinking at first that he may have just been trying to be cool but soon noticed he was a sweet, albeit playful, person.

"I'll see you at lunch Tyler." Ash told him, walking away. Tyler was stunned at the fact she just walked away like their whole scene was basically like two people passing by. Tyler rejoined his friends, but his mind stayed on Ash.

By time Lunch came around the whole school not only knew of Ash but also had rumors going on about her through her interaction with Tyler.

Ok, so, yeah.

Sorry, I just don't know what to really say after this. I just wanted to show another side to Ash because you've already seen her distant side, her enraptured side and her domestic side. You've actually seen this side of her in the first chapter but if you need an explanation here it goes.

To be short, for people like Ash (and me) they need a sort of recharge. They have good days and bad days and honestly sometimes it will be noticeable, sometimes it won't but taking those recharge days are a way to keep her at level and not blowing a gasket.

Another thing I wanted to say was that if you were wondering about Ash's POV (done in first person) I just have to say they will rarely pop up this early. To be honest 1st person is about the characters thoughts and Ash is pretty blunt and so complicated too. The way she sees the world is hard to write most of the time so I try to stick to how other people see her like Sam, Embry and Alice. Its just interesting to see them try and get an idea of her.

Checkout my other story Fixing What I Can (if you already know what it is, hold on. The update is on its way) and R&R if you want. Seriously I would love it if you have any ideas, questions or any theories (they may actually be true.)
