Chapter Twelve:

Sasuke hadn't been wrong.

Like clockwork, every day for the past week Orochimaru had shown up at the apartment. The man had gone from trying to pick the lock to trying and find other ways to get inside. Sasuke wasn't sure what it was that he wanted, but he stopped his plans every time.

Yesterday, the snake had gotten ready to punch his fist in through the window when Sasuke called his attention while sitting at the edge of the rooftop. Confused, Orochimaru had looked up to the roof and gasped when a brick was thrown at his head.

It hit him between the eyes and knocked him on the floor, a red gash marking just how hard it had been thrown.

Orochimaru stayed on the floor, dazed.

Sasuke was about to jump down and check if he had succeeded in murdering him when the door to Miss Chiyo's apartment opened. The woman was annoyed when she saw the body of the snake lying on the ground, impeding her from exiting her apartment.

And like clockwork on her part, she delivered the finishing blow.

She kicked him a few times until he stirred. Orochimaru flinched when his eyes met her angry face and started to apologize. The snake was trying his best to get to his feet and move away, but it was too late, he met her wrath.

"Get the hell out!" she roared and grabbed him up by his shirt before tossing him across the apartment complex, over the gates, and to the grassy area at the front. She then clapped her hands clean and went about her day, muttering about idiots that just didn't know when to give up.

Sasuke had to agree with her as he watched Orochimaru run off to his getaway car. He was disappointed that the snake wasn't dead yet. He was hoping he'd truly be hurt this time.

For the past week he had tried to come up with very creative ways of getting the snake, and he had a few more plans up his sleeve.

For today, his plan was a bit more unconventional.

Miss Chiyo was over protective of her apartment because she kept a small flower garden by her door and she often talked to the small flowers with gentle praises. They were her pride and joy so she would do anything to keep them safe. Even Sasuke knew better than to mess with them. She had stopped Itachi one day when they were going out for their walk and told him that she'd better never see that cat near her precious flowers.

That was enough to give Sasuke what he thought was a brilliant idea.

He needed to make Orochimaru understand painfully well that he had no business being here.

Honestly, Sasuke was starting to hate the snake.

He always impeded on his plans for the day. Today wasn't going to be any different. Not that it mattered, Suigetsu was in the apartment and that in itself would hinder him from going out. It sucked having to hide who he was. Sasuke was starting to hate it as well…the things he wanted to do, what he wished he could do…

Stupid lucky Suigetsu had a date with Kisame later since it was his day off from work. Sasuke wanted to go out on a date with Itachi, he was sure it was going to be fun! They could do loads of things together if only…

If only…

Sasuke stood when he heard a sound coming from the window. He climbed onto the counter and peeked out, jumping slightly when Orochimaru suddenly pressed his face onto the glass. Sasuke flicked his tail back and forth, watching as the snake like man grinned and tried to pry the window open, calling out to him.

Sasuke yawned, his kitten ears flickering back, before he started to lick at his paw like he had no care in the world. He wasn't worried for today. His plan was already in motion.

Earlier that morning he had trampled old lady Chiyo's flowers and then moved them to be under the window sill of his apartment. Where Orochimaru had either moved the flower pots aside or dropped them. The thing about those pots was that they had bells tied to them.

Bells that would tell Miss Chiyo if someone was messing with her beloved flowers.

Sasuke, being a cat was able to move about without triggering said bells, especially since he knew their placement and was able to disable them. He had simply dismantled her arrangement of them and reset them so that they served a new purpose of giving the snake away,

Orochimaru didn't have any idea.

Sasuke blinked when a thud sounded against the window and watched in fascination as Orochimaru's face was slammed against it several times. Old lady Chiyo wasn't merciful in the least as she beat the snake down and threw him out of the apartment complex.

Sasuke was happy that his plan had worked.

He looked back into the apartment when he heard shuffling. Suigetsu made his way into the kitchen. The white haired man looked around in a daze before his amethyst eyes settled on Sasuke and gave him a toothy grin as a greeting.

"Hey Kitty, did you hear something?" he asked, confused. He was sure that he had heard something coming from the kitchen.

Sasuke mewed at him before going back to licking his paw.

"I guess not. Whatever," Suigetsu groaned as he stretched and decided to get started on the day. He opened the fridge to pull out ingredients, setting them all over the counter. "Do you think Itachi will get mad if you join me for some pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage?" The white haired man asked as he pulled out his cell phone and blasted some music.

Sasuke watched Suigetsu dance, sing, and cook all at the same time. The man was a bit scary and nearly burned the eggs, but at the end everything was cooked just fine. Not as well as when Itachi cooked, but Sasuke wasn't about to turn down any food.

He happily ate while Suigetsu got a phone call, cutting off his music. It was that weird red headed friend of his, her name is Karin and she was weirder than even Suigetsu. She had a whole drama going on with her life and Sasuke, sadly, was a bit invested in hearing about it, so he paid attention whenever she and Suigetsu talked.

"Wait, what do you mean he hacked into your phone."

"It's like I said, he used something to get into my messages and read through them." Karin sounded distressed, "I'm too scared to send any messages in fear that he will read them because it will be of me complaining about his ass."

"Dude, this guy sounds wrong, are you sure you don't want to dump him?" Suigetsu asked, concerned about Karin.

Karin let out a breath. "I don't know, I mean besides that he treats me right and he's not a complete loser. He has his own house and a good job. He doesn't expect me to pay for anything…I guess no, I want to make it work."

"But he doesn't respect your privacy," Suigetsu said, trying his best not to make this into an argument. He knew that Karin could get defensive if he came off like he was attacking her. "If he's looking into your messages, are you allowed to look at his?"

"No, he hides his phone and gets defensive if I even ask to look at it. He got so weird when I asked him who he was talking too last night and made me feel bad for asking. Like I was just wondering I wasn't trying to control him." Karin sighed, sounding defeated.

"It's normal to ask though, like you said, you were just wondering…" Suigetsu bit his lower lip, "Why would he get defensive, does he not trust you?"

"It's not like that, he just says that in the past his girlfriends were controlling so he doesn't feel comfortable. I can respect that." Karin sounded determined. "I want to show him that I am not like the other girls,"

"Dude, if it was me, I'd have dumped him already," Suigetsu rolled his eyes.

"That's what he said, if it was someone else they would have dumped him already" Karin giggled. "Its fine I trust him."

"But it doesn't sound like he trusts you," Suigetsu deadpanned. He felt exhausted, and it wasn't even his relationship that was having this problem.

"Maybe, I don't know. I want him to trust me though. I have nothing to hide so if he wants to look at my messages, its fine." Karin huffed with finality.

Suigetsu winced. He wanted to tell her that that wasn't the issue, that the guy going behind her back to get her messages without asking was the issue. That if he didn't trust her, then why was he with her and vice versa, but he held his tongue. Karin would justify it and not listen to him until everything unraveled.

He hoped he was wrong and that this guy wasn't bad, but he was getting a bad vive.

"Do I get to at least meet this mystery guy?" he asked, trying to bring his tone back to a livelier and teasing one.

"I want you to meet him so hopefully soon!" Karin said, sounding happy and without a care in the world.

Suigetsu truly hoped he was wrong.

He wasn't there in her relationship so he didn't know the full story. He just hoped the bad feeling was nothing.

"Cool, let's set up a double date, I want you to meet my boyfriend as well!" Suigetsu said. He'd probably get a better picture of their relationship if he met the guy.

"Yeah, for sure!" Karin grinned.

Later that day, Sasuke and Suigetsu were on the couch watching television.

Suigetsu had a blanket around him as he gapped at the television. Sasuke was seated on one of the arm rest, his fur on end as he stared at the screen in shock. They were watching a horror thriller where the killer set up life or death situations that would force the person to do just about anything to survive.

One of the characters was standing in front of the latest challenge, shaking and bloody from the previous events. The person was being told what she would need to do in order to survive or suffer. She only had a few minutes and there was no moment of rest as the scene became intense.

They were both sure that she was going to die.

Sasuke growled in the back of his throat while Suigetsu bit at his nails with his nerves on edge, waiting to see what would happen. That was when the lock turned and the front door opened, making Sasuke and Suigetsu jump on alert, hearts racing.

Sasuke hissed, puffing up as he got ready to attack, while Suigetsu dropped to the floor screaming, "Don't kill me!"

At the front door, Itachi and Kisame blinked when they saw the sight of Suigetsu on the floor and Kitty all puffed up on the couch, fangs bared, ready to attack.

"What's going on?" Kisame asked as he took off his shoes and set them aside.

Kitty stopped hissing as he tried to calm himself, glad to see Itachi. He jumped off the couch and ran over to the demon, clawing his way up so he could be in his arms. Suigetsu, feeling embarrassed got to his feet as he tried to laugh it off.

"We're just watching this movie called Saw…three?" he wasn't all that sure which one it was, he had been watching them all day long.

"It's that all you did today?" Kisame asked as he walked over to his boyfriend, not minding that Itachi was walking to the kitchen with Kitty nestled in his arms. Itachi was probably going to feed the little fur ball.

"No, I did other things, I just eventually got caught up…watching this." Suigetsu crossed his arms, flinching when he heard the razor sharp sounds of flesh getting shredded. "I can probably do without it now,"

Kisame laughed as he turned off the television and moved to kiss his boyfriend softly on his lips. A part of him expected Suigetsu to move away from him, but was pleasantly surprised when Suigetsu moved to meet his kiss eagerly.

Their lips locked and it was like he was home.

It was warm and welcoming.

Sasuke had walked out of the kitchen to check if the movie was still going on when he saw that Kisame and Suigetsu were kissing. He rolled his eyes and was about to head back into the kitchen to watch Itachi cook instead when he heard Kisame and Suigetsu talk.

"I'm home," the shark demon murmured.

"Welcome back," Suigetsu happily greeted, hugging the demon.

Sasuke wished he could welcome Itachi home. Honestly, he wished he could do a lot of things. The question was, would he ever be able to make his dreams come true. He walked back into the kitchen and sunk his claws into Itachi's shoe, grabbing the demons attention.

Itachi glanced down, blinking at the small creature. "Food will be done soon," he said.

Sasuke frowned. While he loved food, that wasn't what he wanted to tell Itachi. Feeling sad, he waited for Itachi to be done cooking, but was confused when he was the only one getting fed. He had expected Itachi to join him and so they could eat together…

"Hurry up Itachi, the others won't wait for us!" Kisame called.

Itachi bent down to grab Kitty around his tummy and placed him on the table, along with his food. "I'm being forced to go out today with the guys, I'll be home late so keep the bed warm," Itachi gently petted Kitty's head and went to his bedroom to shower and change.

Sasuke knew that every now and then Itachi went to hang out with his other friends, but something inside was telling Sasuke that it wasn't the normal outing. He gobbled down a few bites of the food before following after Itachi.

He broke into the shower and meowed at Itachi, wanting so badly to ask him where he was going. What he was planning to do.

Could he go too?

Itachi simply sprayed his little face with some water and shooed him away from the tub so he could finish up. Kitty jumped off, walking back and forth waiting for the demon to step out, only to loudly meow at him, demanding some sort of answer.

Itachi chuckled at the sight of him and shook his head as he finished drying off.

"What's wrong my Mushkitty, are you done with your meal?" Itachi asked as he pulled out some clothes. Sasuke jumped on the bed, rolling onto his back to show off his tummy. Itachi pulled on his underwear and pants as he noticed and walked over, gently rubbing the exposed belly. "Be good okay, I'll be back in a few hours," Itachi said as he pulled on a fancy button up shirt and a black hoodie.

He was casually dressed, nothing like how he'd dressed for work, but he still looked very, very pretty, especially with his long hair loose and flowing… Sasuke rolled over, frowning as Itachi called a goodbye with a simple pet to his head and left.

Sasuke had the urge to follow him, but he decided to do as he was asked.

He stayed back, being a good boy for Itachi.

Itachi stepped out of the apartment to see that Kisame and Suigetsu had changed their clothes as well and were ready to go.

"Where are we going?" Itachi asked when Kisame snatched the keys to the jeep.

"They told me not to tell you but we are going to a club," Kisame said, ready to drive since he was the one that knew where they were going. Itachi gave a defeated sigh, knowing that this night was going to be long.

Already he was regretting this. All he wanted was to go to bed and curl up with Kitty, calling it a night. There was no urge for him to go out and mingle with the other singles. There was no urgency in him to go out and find some sort of lover.

Itachi just liked his routine and that was it.

Knowing though that the reason his friends had planned this outing, there was no choice in him to back out. It was go and try and find someone, or have his mother pressure him again. He was running out of time. His mother is an impatient woman that won't hold off past a month before she is pestering him to find a lover again.

Although, maybe the idea of just dating someone she suggested was sounding better than this right now.

"How come you don't have a lover yet Itachi?" Suigetsu asked as they locked the door and walked towards the elevator. The doors slowly opened as Itachi tucked his hands into the pockets of his hoodie. "You're not a bad looking guy. I'd have thought someone would have already snatched you up,"

"I don't really know, I just haven't tried…" Itachi shrugged. He had no clear answer as to why he didn't have a lover. He never sought so he just didn't have one. It wasn't like there were people lining up for the position either, so…

Kisame snorted, "Itachi is so determined and focused on work that he forgets to live." The man shook his head. "If I weren't his roommate I bet that he'd even forget to buy food and go for days without eating or anything."

"But he cooks," Suigetsu blinked, confused.

"Yeah, for Kitty, that's the only reason he cooks. Otherwise it's take out and reminding him to get something in his belly,"

"You know I can speak for myself," Itachi cut in, not liking how Kisame was portraying him. He didn't think that he was that bad. He made him sound like some workaholic recluse or something.

"Hey, all I'm saying is that I haven't seen you interested in anything else until Kitty came into your life. I feel like that was a step in the right direction." Kisame grinned, "Plus it means food that is deliciously cooked, that is a bonus!" he cheered as they made it to the parking lot and headed towards the Jeep.

Itachi shook his head, thinking his friend was weird.

He climbed into the back as Kisame took the driver seat and Suigetsu the passenger. As Kisame turned on the car and blasted some music, Itachi started to feel uneasy. His thoughts were back on Kitty, who was in the apartment waiting for him all alone and it didn't sit well with him.

Pein and Konan were waiting for them just a few blocks away from the club.

It was a dark resident street where they were parked, not because they were unwilling to pay for parking, but because they planned on getting a bit tipsy before heading to the club.

Deidara and Sasori were hitting a bit of their rolled up weed, opting not to drink yet. Hidan and Zetsu were chugging while Kakuzu nursed his own at a more sedated pace.

"Is anyone else coming?" He asked as he sipped his drink.

"Only Itachi, Kisame, and Kisame's boyfriend," Konan answered as she accepted the joint and took a hit herself.

"So we finally get to meet the elusive, lover of blades, and Kisame's longest relationship?" Hidan smirked.

"About time, if you ask me," Zetsu laughed. "Whoo, I hope they come soon, I need to get my dick wet and it's not helping to stand here with you guys,"

"Oh shut up," Kakuzu shot him a glare while the others paid him no mind. They knew that Zetsu could be crude once he got drinking, and with that came his high need for sexual activity. They were definitely going to lose track of him tonight as he would probably leave with the first warm body that decided to press into him.

It was always like a trap when Zetsu got a hold of you.

"Remember the goal guys," Deidara said, "We are here so that Itachi can get his dick wet,"

The others laughed and rolled their eyes. "That'll be something, has that kid ever gotten his dick wet?" Hidan asked.

"Who even knows," Pain rolled his eyes, "We are here to get him a lover not to get laid,"

"Same difference," Deidara retorted.

"It's a big difference, because I'm sure that Sasori isn't that to you," Konan scolded. Deidara flinched and apologized, realizing that he was being cruel again. He couldn't help himself though, with friends like his, he had to be a bit defensive.

Just as their conversation turned towards what Deidara and Sasori were planning for their wedding, bright headlights blinded them for a second. The loud blast of music disturbed the somber mood that had fallen around them. They blinked as the familiar jeep slid into the parking spot in front of them.

"Finally, they're here," Pain sighed, relieved that they would all be heading to the club soon. Konan giggled as she wrapped her arms around his, effectively calming her lover. He turned to her, a small smile gracing his face as his eyes lowered, tenderly.

He couldn't wait to spend this night having fun with her.

"Bitches, we're here!" Kisame cheered as he jumped out of the still running Jeep. Suigetsu reached over to turn off the car and placed the keys into the pocket of his pants as he scolded Kisame to hurry up. Itachi hesitated opening the door. He didn't want to be here, but quickly reminded himself why he was here.

The process shouldn't be this difficult.

Everyone would always go out to look for a partner. It shouldn't be that different for Itachi. This was the hardest part, finding that person. It should get easier from here, right?

Itachi finally climbed out and joined his friends. He might as well get the night done and over with. Everyone was talking loudly and excitedly. Itachi flinched when Kisame dragged him closer to the in circle.

"Remember Itachi, the goal for tonight is for you to score!" the shark demon said with a wink.

Itachi made a face that said he wasn't looking forward to it at all.

"Kisame, introduce us to the boyfriend," Konan called, drawing the attention away from the poor Uchiha. Kisame released Itachi as he eagerly introduced Suigetsu to his friends.

"Guys this is my Suigetsu!" Kisame proudly said. Suigetsu hid slightly behind Kisame, feeling overwhelmed by his boyfriend's friends and how lively they all were.

"Hello." He would be lying if he said he wasn't scared.

Sasuke had never been left alone while it was dark.

Itachi was always home before sundown. They would be cuddling right now, either watching a show or reading a book. They would be getting ready for bed. Itachi might share some of his day or something that was just randomly on his mind before falling asleep. Sasuke would stay up a bit longer, just so he could voice out his own thoughts before following Itachi into dreamland.

The kitten shivered, upset that their routine wasn't being followed.

Sasuke shivered as the shadows crept in. The apartment was too quiet and the movie he had been watching earlier was still fresh in his mind. Sasuke's ears flickered around at the sound of anything, making his heart beat fast in fear.

Eventually he scrambled into his demon form and reached to turn on the lights in Itachi's room. He then pulled on one of Itachi's shirt, not minding that his small frame practically drowned in it. It offered the demons scent and thus comfort for the agitated Sasuke.

Sasuke paced the room, wishing that Itachi would return already.

How much longer would he be…?

The sound of something crawling caught his attention and he turned his head in time to see a shadow dash across the room, and under the bed. Sasuke jumped, running out of the room and skidded to hide beside the doorframe. He ducked down, his eyes adjusting as he tried to see what had just moved in the room.

It was his job to protect the apartment while Itachi wasn't here. He needed to be brave and attack the intruder!

Sasuke watched, never once blinking his large eyes as he dared the thing to attack him. He only blinked once the intruder made himself known as a small insect. The insect moved its antennas around as it wondered about the room without a care in the world.

Sasuke deflated, feeling relieved that it had not been anything serious.

Sasuke snatched the small bug and opened Itachi's bedroom window in order to release it outside, safely. Sasuke let out a sigh as he looked around the dark apartment complex, once more wishing that Itachi would hurry up and come home.

How important was it for him to be out so late, where a monster or worse could get him.

Maybe Itachi was out there fighting something. Sasuke didn't know much about what was meant about hanging out or dating or anything. He could only think it meant going somewhere special. He wished he could go there with Itachi.

What would they do?

What would they talk about?

Would Itachi like dating him?

Sasuke didn't think it much mattered so long as he got to be with Itachi. Them doing anything as long as together would be perfect.

Sasuke was lost gazing up at the bright moon when he heard a hissing sound. Sasuke looked down, in time to catch sight of his biggest competition at the moment. The one that was looking to snatch part of his territory… Tacuazin…

Sasuke watched as the creature shifted into a hairy human, looking like they were a new adult. Sasuke wasn't sure, he couldn't tell ages based on appearance. Sasuke had heard resent whispers that there was someone looking to challenge him. That they were strong and that he was in danger of losing his territory.

Of course those gossipers would only want to see him fail in protecting what is his. He knew that they thrived in seeing a power fall.

This wasn't uncommon, and it'll probably happen again. Sasuke had no choice but to face this challenge if he wanted to keep his territory. On top of that, prove that he was more than worthy of holding all the territory that he currently had.

"I want this territory, Cat. I challenge you for it!"

"What, you think that you can win against me?" Sasuke hissed, fusing his claws into his demon form and showing off his sharp canines. He was ready to fight for what was his.

The Tacuazin creature backed up, hesitating now.

He hadn't thought that his challenge would be so readily met. He had expected to intimidate and get some of his way easily, as he always had. In the shadows he could hear his friends whispering, making comments that he was about to back away.

What a coward.

He could hear them saying how this Cat creature was strong because there was something special about him.

Gritting his teeth, he decided to fight, fusing back to his small rodent like form he prepared his body. With energy alone, he grew in size, until he rivaled that of a muscular Pitbull. He'd show them, once he ripped this cat to shreds, that there was nothing special about this damned feline.

Sasuke jumped down from the windowsill, transforming back into his cat form and followed suit in preparing his body. Making himself grow in size was still difficult for him. He was still on the smaller side, a child per se. While he was two handfuls in his normal form, the most he could grow was of that of a regular adult house cat.

It was fine.

Sasuke made up by making his body bigger with his electricity. He had gotten better at controlling it since he used it against Orochimaru all the time. The sparks circled around him, and Sasuke made the first move.

Unknown to him, two figures were watching the battle from afar, waiting for the right moment that his guard would be down.

Itachi followed his friends into the club.

He was taken in by the gyrating bodies all of them hotly pressed against each other, dancing to the loud music. The thump and base was enough to shake the building, but Itachi paid it no mind as he followed his friends towards the bar. Zetsu was the only one that had gone straight to the dancefloor and was already surrounded by interested females.

Konan and Pain ordered a few drinks before they decided where their meeting place would be.

There was never any doubt that they would get caught up with the people already in here. They would get lost and end up doing things on their own, so having a place to meet at a certain time was crucial to make sure they weren't in trouble.

Pain made sure that each of them had their phones and reminded them to call if they found themselves in any kind of trouble. They were always vigilant and careful of each other, looking out for one another. It's what made their friendship that much more special and something that they appreciated.

Itachi set his timer and took note of the location before Kisame and Suigetsu pulled him to the dance floor. The two of them were already signaling to a group of girls that were dirty dancing with each other and batting their eyelashes to catch attention.

Groups of girls like that usually meant that at least one or two were single and looking to catch some single males. It was hard to say.

Kisame and Suigetsu pushed Itachi forward, encouraging him to go flirt with them.

Itachi reluctantly weaved his way over to them, but in the process he was knocked to the side by a huge man. The man gave him a look from under his nose, sizing Itachi off and thinking nothing of the slighter man. Itachi glowered in return but the man shrugged it off like it was nothing, going on his way as he grumbled for him to watch it.

Itachi watched as the man approached the group of girls and started to harass them.

The man was obvious with what he wanted, flirting and grabbing at one of the females. She seemed to reject him, trying to go back to her friends, but his grip wouldn't let her go anywhere. That was when her friends tried to help, but weren't able to pull their friend back to them.

The man started to threaten them.

Itachi decided to help them out. He was about to go and talk to them anyways, so this could be a so called ice breaker.

Approaching the group, Itachi tapped the man on the shoulder. When he turned, he punched him from under his jaw, cracking his neck and making him release the girl that was begging him to let her go. What was sad is that no one in the club stopped dancing or cared much to step in and do something to help her.

That Itachi had was already an abnormality and he could feel the stares of few, even the lenses of cameras pointed his way.

He'd probably make a few gram or book headlines.

"The fuck punk, I have no issues with you. Why the hell are you here buggin'" The man roared, throwing one fist into the palm of his hand. "I'm going to teach you a lesson you meddling fool,"

The man huffed forward, throwing a punch at Itachi. He was pissed. He had just been interrupted from getting himself a girl and all because this guy wanted to be some kind of hero.

What a joke.

He gritted his teeth when he was unable to hit the stupid guy.

Itachi easily sidestepped, avoiding each clumsy hit. Finally he grabbed the man by his arm, flipping him over his shoulder as if he was nothing.

The man noted that he wasn't able to stand up. His arm was twisted at a bad angle and the cock blocker had already pressed the heel of his shoe against the clavicle and throat. The threat that they could be broken was easily there, and that's when he realized that he messed with the wrong person.

This guy was no joke.

It didn't take much effort on Itachi's part. The man under him was shaking in fear. He could obviously feel just how close Itachi was to breaking not only his arm, but his windpipe as well. So he remained still on the floor, watching with wide eyes.

What was he doing?

This wasn't Itachi's problem.

"Fuck off," Itachi hissed, the glow of his red eyes placing so much wordless fear in the man that he ran out of there the moment he was given the chance. Itachi sighed, looking around.

Things in the club remained as if nothing had happened but the girls were gone. They hadn't even stuck around to say a thank you or acknowledge the fact that Itachi had helped them. Not that Itachi could blame them. They were probably scared after what had happened.

He also didn't come off as the friendliest person ever.

He was sure they were scared of him as well.

Itachi decided to get off the dance floor. He was thinking about escaping and simply going home. He pulled out his phone to check the time and nearly groaned when he noted that not even ten minutes had passed since he came into this place.

Why was time moving so slow?

He missed Kitty so much…

"That was amazing dude," Someone suddenly called, grabbing his attention.

Itachi turned to a table with two women and one man, and put his phone back into his pocket. The man was glaring, looking to the side like he didn't want to deal with anything. The women though, were looking at Itachi with complete interest.

He paused in front of their table, wondering what he should do.

"Thanks, it wasn't that big of a deal." Itachi finally said.

"Not a big deal!? You helped someone out, you got balls man," the woman with ash-burn brown hair continued to praise. "Are you here on your own?" she asked, looking around him to see if he noticed anyone else around him.

Itachi blinked, "Uh no, but my friends are all caught up doing their own things. We plan on meeting up later,"

"Cool then, you can kick it with us then!" The other woman with long dark brown hair said, scooting over to offer him a place to sit. Itachi hesitated, not knowing if to take the offer. There was nothing else that he was doing anyways, should he…

"What, no, why are you guys inventing a creep over?" the man hissed, looking at both women with disbelief. Itachi flinched, feeling so out of place and like he wanted to hide away instead of joining them.

"The only creep here is you, Tenma," The first woman stuck out her tongue to the man, Tenma.

"Why you," Tenma gritted his teeth, glaring.

"Come sit," The woman patted the seat next to her, "I'm Shinko by the way, and that is Tamaki, and the sour puss over there is Tenma," She introduced once Itachi took his seat.

"I'm Itachi,"

"Aww, that's a cute name," Tamaki giggled. She was a bit buzzed and in a good mood, despite her usually shy demeanor.

"So Itachi, what is up with you being here saving damsels in distress?" Tenma asked, sarcasm heavy in his voice. Itachi frowned, wondering what this man's problem with him was.

"Don't mind him, he's just jealous because he can't save a girl in such a cool way," Shinko teased, giving Tenma a smirk.

"Tch, fuck you Shinko you know the reason girls get into trouble is because they dress to attract but claim that they don't and then they fucking invite random weirdos to sit with them," he turned his glare to Itachi now, "Who the fuck are you anyways?"

"You don't have to answer that Itachi," she said sweetly before narrowing her eyes at Tenma. "That is not how someone asks a person who they are or anything, you owe him nothing!"

"It's alright," Itachi tried to appease, "I am a stranger after all. He must be worried that you have invited me to sit with you when you don't know me."

"You may be a stranger, but you don't seem like a bad person, Itachi," Tamaki grinned, "We saw what you did and I personally thought it was amazing. No one would go out of their way to help someone being harassed, but you did…" she was at a loss for words.

Shinko nodded, agreeing whole heartedly, "You are awesome, who wouldn't want to know you!"

Tenma wasn't impressed, "I guess he doesn't seem bad, but still…what's to say that he has no ulterior motives?"

"No motives," Itachi said.

"Then why the hell are you here?"

Itachi raised an eyebrow, "I'll tell you if you tell me why you are here,"

This caused the girls to laugh.

"We're out having a good time and seeing if we can find a partner," Shinko answered because Tenma had gone red in the face, looking like he'd rather die than say anything. Shinko smirked at the look on his face, he was so cute. She couldn't wait to make him her partner, but the man was dense and she was at a loss on how to get him to realize that they were meant to be.

Oh well, one step at a time.

"Finding a partner?" Itachi tilted his head curiously, "Is that a normal thing to do?" he stupidly asked, knowing already that it was. It was the reason so many people were here, besides looking for a good time.

"What, you don't know how important that is!" Tenma snapped, shocked by the curiosity in Itachi's voice.

Itachi was about to defend himself, when the two women jumped in his defense.

"Calm down Tenma, not all of us perceive the same," Shinko chided. She then looked Itachi over, making him flinch when her hand reached out to touch him. He blinked when she smiled warmly and brought up a strand of cat hair. "You have a pet." She stated.

Itachi dumbly nodded, "yeah."

"What do you mean by perceive!" Tenma demanded. "What is there to perceive about finding a partner!"

Tamaki placed a gentle hand over Tenma's shoulder in order to appease his aggressive behavior. "What she means is for you to be more sensitive about everyone's situation. Not all of us have partners in this life, and some of us have lost them, you need to be more careful with how you say things." She calmly explained.

"It's alright, you don't have to be careful about me. I just haven't found my partner yet," Itachi said.

"How do you feel about that?" Tamaki asked.

Itachi took a second to think it over, and that pause told her a lot. It was further confirmed when Itachi said, "I feel alright."

"So, no urgency or desire to seek out a partner?" Tamaki asked, smiling now.

"Hm," Shinko smiled as well, awaiting his answer.

"None at all," Itachi admitted, afraid that they'd think badly of him. With the way his family pressured him, he was starting to think that there was something wrong with him. He was probably some freak or something…

"That can only mean three things. One your partner is dead and you are doomed to spend the rest of your life alone," Shinko grinned widely when Itachi gave her a wide eyed look of pure disbelief. "Two, your partner is not yet born, or three, they are just simply not the right age for you yet,"

"Holy fuck you tell me to be sensitive about this, but you just told him his partner could be dead!" Tenma snapped. He felt bad for Itachi if that was his situation. Losing a partner could lead to a life of apathy and often an early death because there was no drive to live after a certain age.

Itachi was now intrigued. "What if there simply just isn't anyone meant for me?" he asked. He figured that nothing in life was impossible. There had to be a set of people out there that had no destined partner for them.

He could be one of them.

"There's oddly, as everyone says it, always someone out there for you." Tamaki assured. "In some way shape or form, interesting and all, there is."

Itachi sighed. He knew, he heard it all the time. "And I guess I will just know,"

"Well, that's what they say, but no. You won't just know, you will know when you need to know, so just keep an eye out." Shinko said. "Now about your pet, what is it a puppy or a kitty?"

Itachi blinked at the sudden change of topic and smiled, "I have a kitten," he said.

"Ah no not another cat lover," Tenma groaned, throwing his head back as he slumped on his seat, defeated. He was so sick and tired of hearing about cats this and kitties that…

Tamaki and Shinko ignored him as they moved closer to Itachi, showing him pictures of their pet cats, sharing stories about them. Itachi was more than happy to talk about Kitty and share all the silly things the kitten did as well.

Sasuke and the Tacuazin fought hard against each other.

It was all claws and teeth to overpower the other one. Sasuke managed to fuse electricity into his fangs as he dodged to the side. Tacuazin's tail slashed at the air where Sasuke had once been and was now seeking him, confused.

The kitten came behind him, grabbing him over the scruff of his neck and sinking electrified fangs into his flesh.

Tacuazin trembled as he lost control of his body and soiled himself as the shock ran through his body, knocking him out. Sasuke made a victory stance, glad to know that the battle was over and he had clearly won.

The sound of swooping wings fluttering over his head made him look up, shocked when too late he noted two shadows flying towards the open window of Itachi's bedroom. He turned his head fast, and gasped when the two bat creatures gave him taunting looks.

Sasuke rushed to attack them, but a shrilling sound wave was blasted his way. Sasuke gasped, knocked onto the wall across from the window. He fell, his ears ringing with pain from the impact of the sound wave.

His heart dropped when they closed the window and locked him out. They waved, mocking him, before closing the curtains.

Sasuke wasn't sure what they were up to or what they planned to do. He needed to stop them. Getting to his feet was hard as he felt an imbalance due to the damage caused to his eardrum.

Sasuke struggled, what should he do now?

He knew only one thing.

He had fucked up.
