Chapter CCLII: The Weapon Known As Lachesis Part VII

Struggling, Kagi was doing his best to keep up his momentum. Running upon a treadmill he'd been put on, his body was nearly completely covered in various coloured wires and he was trying hard to keep up with the pace that the machine he had been set to, whilst only dressed a pair of dark blue shorts. However his young body was unable to keep with the sigh demands of the fast paced machine and he was breathing hard in and out from the strain, "Haa! Haa! Haa!"

These physical observations had been occurring for days now and he could only hope that the day they would all come to an end, was sooner rather than later.

The many scientists who were there making the observations of him, were all dressed in their white lab cats with Rosso directing them instructions. All of them were studying the various machines and equipment that were analysing Kagi's abilities. One of them working away at a particular unit tapped the screen with his pen and sighed as he wrote down the result, "Still no change to the rate of his heart rhythm."

Kagi hearing him, aching from all the running he swear he'd been doing since forever. He uttered bitterly to himself, "What are you expecting from me!?" Then as he thought this and felt the heavy racing of his heart, he couldn't understand. What more did they want from him and his heart?

One of the scientists though seeing Kagi's feeble continuing attempt at running was quiet. However after a moment, a cruel idea appeared in his mind and he smirked. Then walking over to the treadmill he said, "Well why don't we up the pace a bit then?"

Hearing this as he struggled, Kagi uttered, "What?"

But the man said nothing, instead he pressed a single green arrow shaped button and-!

"WWWHHHOOOAAA!"

Suddenly the young boy fell forwards onto the machine's treads and in another second, he was quickly thrown off of it, he practically ricochetted off the machine. But he was in awful pain as his face hurt from the scuffing, "Owww!" Wincing as he held his nose with one hand he then heard-!

"HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!"

A large burst of laughter, as he lay there now staring in shock. Completely entangled within the mess of wires he'd been left in, he saw all the scientists who'd been studying him laugh their heads off. All of them completely amused by his misfortune.

"Now that's what you call a stellar performance!" One of them chuckled.

Quickly another agreed as they added, "Yeah! That would be sure to win a gold medal!"

Kagi said nothing to any of this, he didn't understand. Why were they putting him through all of this? Then looking over to Rosso, he saw the red eyed woman smirk herself hiding away her own laugh with the back of her hand, she decided, "I think we will say this examination is over for now." Then looking to two of her other colleagues, who'd recovered quickly from their moment of amusement. She nodded towards the entangled young boy.

At this silent bid, they both quickly went to Kagi and began to remove the wires off of him.

Kagi though didn't say a word, he remained motionless as they continued to work on him. Then as he remained silent, he heard Rosso's next bidding, "Now, let's prepare ourselves for the next examination in room fifty four."

Hearing this, Kagi was filled with utter dread. For he had no idea what he would have to endure within the next examination...

Seeing the awful treatment that he was being put through in his younger days, it was clear that Aeris didn't like it at all. Though it was also clear that everyone else in the room didn't like it either. However the healing white mage had to ask, "Why did they put you through such awful examinations like that?"

Kagi was quiet. Nozomi could see though that he looked uncomfortable in answering this question. But before she or the other keybladers could give an answer, it was then that Leon explained calmly, "I would imagine they were trying to get a better understanding of the Fragment's power and what impact a hosts body had on it." Then remembering the vigorous training he had been through in the past, he went on to say, "And naturally to get those results, they had to go to extremes." Then seeing that Kagi had turned to look at him in utter amazement, he suspected he was right in his analysis as he asked the young boy, "That's what they did to you isn't it?"

As this question was put to him, Kagi remained silent for a further uncomfortable moment before he answered, looking away to the side, "It wasn't just me that went through that," then as he said those words, more images upon the screen appeared and as they did, the young boy continued, "...And I had no idea what those extremes really were until that one night." With that he turned to watch again as everyone else did too, to see what had occurred long ago.

"Urgh...I ache all over, I'm totally exhausted!" Kagi complained as he placed his hand upon the wall beside himself. Throughout the day, he'd been put through the works. He'd done so much running, swimming, climbing, push-ups, stretches etc. etc... that he felt like he would never have to do gym again for the rest of his life!

All he wanted at that moment right there and then, was to sleep soundly in his bed. But as he unlocked the door-!

"Meow!"

"Ah!"

Startled the young boy hadn't been expecting to be jumped up on, least of all by, "Oliver!"

The young kitten, pleased though quickly climbed up nimbly and made it onto the young boy's right shoulder in seconds. Seeing him do this, Kagi alerted quickly looked around himself. Fortunately there was no one present, so releasing a sigh of relief, he took the young kitten with him as he went back into his room.

As he shut the door immediately behind himself, he then said tiredly, "Oliver! I've told you time and again, you can't just jump up on me like that!" The young kitten though didn't seem to heed his words, instead he hopped off of Kagi's shoulder and smiled up to him innocently.

Sighing, he told the young creature, "Honestly, I envy you and your care free attitude." However too tired to really think of anything else to say, he went to his bag and taking out the water bottle he'd taken with him, he walked over to Oliver's bowl and told him, "There you go, now drink up." With that he then slowly dragged himself over to his bed.

Seeing him do this, it was then that the orange kitten became concerned for the young boy and followed after him. Then watching Kagi, he saw him crawl onto his bed and heard him utter tiredly, "Good...night..." With that he fell quickly fell into the depths of unconsciousness.

Oliver though remained silent. But turning his attention away from the now slumbering boy, he looked to the door and with a worried look on his face, he wandered over to it and put one of his paws on the surface with more worry gracing his young features. For still, one person that he held dear had not returned to their room...

"Hmmm..." Murmuring in his sleep, Kagi rolled over, as he did this it was then a single shape climbed up onto the bed.

"Yum, yum..." the young boy uttered with a happy look on his face with drool leaking out of the corner of his mouth, as he did he couldn't help but say enjoying his happy dream, "Ah! Strawberry jam! I love your jam, mom! I want more of it! More!"

"Meow!"

"Neow?" The young boy uttered in his sleep, then becoming depressed he asked practically whinging, "Mom, why? Why can't I have anymore?"

"Meow!"

"Oh c'mon! Can't you just let me have a little more! I won't-!

"MEOW!"

POUNCE!

"Mmmph!?"

Suddenly the young boy felt something land on him and cover his whole face, it was warm and ticklish. Confused, he uttered springing away with wide alert, "Huh? What? What? What? What's going on?"

Then quickly after a couple of calm moment he recognised and saw the familiar orange stripes that were now on his face. Doing so he uttered with a little annoyance, "Marmalade..." Then sitting up properly, he realised what was going on and looking over to the shape that had now hopped off him, he asked, "Oliver, what're you doing?" With that he yawned loudly and put a hand across his mouth as a few tired tears leaked from his eyes.

"Meow! Meow! Meow!" Oliver echoed loudly, his worry purely evident all over his face, as he circled around and around trying to get Kagi's attention.

Kagi, hearing him cry out again in this unusual tone he uttered, "Huh?"Then finally he noticed the anxiety the little kitten was going through. As he did, he asked him, "What's wrong with you? Why're you-"

JUMP!

Quickly the small kitten hopped off the bed and went to the door and began clawing into the door. As he did this act and Kagi looked around himself, he then finally noticed one person that should have noticed this with him, "Hari?" However there was no word of her presence. She wasn't in the room at all.

Seeing this, Kagi then looked to his right where a small cheap clock was that'd been given to him by Sidolfus and he saw, "What? It's that time already?" For at the hour and minutes that were shown, revealed that she should have been back with them long ago.

For since they'd been discharged from the medical care rooms, the two of them had been put into a room together again. Both of them had taken it in turns to fetch food and drinks for Oliver and to care for him when they had the time.

This night though, the young boy knew that Hari was supposed to bring a meal with her, so that Oliver could eat that night. Thinking of this and finally remembering everything they'd arranged together, he got out of bed and walking over quickly to their kitten, he told him as he picked him up gently, "I'm sorry, Oliver! You must be starving right now, huh?"

Not responding to this query, Oliver concentrated on the door and reached his small paws out to it. Seeing this act, Kagi then realised his error, "No, you're just really worried about Hari aren't you?"

This question, the small kitten then looked up to him. In seconds, Kagi knew he was right and now, rid of his tiredness. Though still aching slightly, he said, "Well I'm worried too now," for looking to the clock behind them, he knew it was too late for her to be out and about like this. So coming to a decision, he looked to the small kitten and asked with a small smile, "What do you say? Do you want to go and look for her with me?"

As this suggestion was given to the kitten, he looked surprised. But quickly he brightened and replied, "Meow! Mya!"

Kagi took that as a yes, so smiling he quickly got his backpack and putting Oliver inside of it. He opened the door, making sure the coast was clear on both ends of the corridor. Both he and his feline backpack companion went on a hunt to go and find their missing roommate.

Walking down the countless darkened corridors, it felt to Kagi these would go on seemingly forever. He found it all terribly disconcerting as he looked about at the forest of dead ends, he sighed wishing there was an easier way to search in this enormous place. Then as they continued on for some more time, he would have given anything to even have something as tiny as a hint or a little sign to give him a better idea of a direction they could go to. Sighing worriedly, he uttered into the darkness that surrounded them, "Hari where are you?"

Then at that moment, Oliver peaked out from the bag and as he sniffed the air about them curiously, he suddenly could smell something familiar!

Kagi though still trapped in his worried thoughts, wondered what it was they should do next to find-!

"Meow!"

Quickly in seconds, he felt his bag become lighter! As it did, in terror he saw Oliver had jumped out of it and was quickly running away. Seeing this, the young boy cried out, "Oliver! Oliver wait a minute! Where are you going!?" With that he went to chase after he orange kitten.

However unbeknownst to the young boy, a pair of agitated eyes was watching after him as he ran off into the darkness. Seeing him run away some distance, the shape then quietly and cautiously started to follow after them...

Running quickly after his young feline friend, Kagi cried out, "Oliver stop! C'mon!" However the small kitten ignored him and turned around another corner. Becoming quickly tired out from his aches and pain, Kagi called out again, "It's dangerous for you to be out in the open here! Don't you know what can happen if someone finds you, they'll-!"

"Meow! Meow! Meow! Meow!"

Stopping his complaints in seconds though, the small kitten was now clawing up onto a new door. As he saw him do this, Kagi was confused. Why would Oliver do this? However in another moment, one reason quickly occurred to him as to why, "Oliver? You think Hari's in there?"

The small kitten though couldn't respond to him in English, instead all he could do was again indicate to the door with both paws. Showing his urgency for them to go inside that closed space.

Kagi looking to this new door was hesitant, it didn't appear to be different at all to any of the other doors that surrounded them. However, as he looked around at their still and haunting environment he knew they had nothing to lose in trying. So quietly and gently, he first put Oliver back into his bag saying, "Okay, let's see if you're right about this."

Then turning his sights to it again. He reached his right hand out and put his hand upon the metal handle and turning it cautiously he was amazed as he uttered, "It's open!" This was unbelievable!

However not missing an opportunity, he quickly went inside and made sure the door was closed after him before he ventured further into the darkened room...

Inside it was practically all black inside, Kagi felt unnerved being inside there. He almost felt like he and Oliver had been consumed by a living shadow, holding his arms around himself for comfort he uttered, "I don't like the feel of this place!"

Then as he said those words, he saw multiple blinking coloured lights in the distance, pleased for some source of illumination he hurried over to them. Making it over to the source, he sighed in relief saying, "Man, am I glad we're out of the dark here." But as he looked around themselves, he discovered the many machines that were quickly recording down vast numbers and lines of graphs. Puzzled he tried to make some sense of these machines. However after studying them for a little he still had no idea what all of this data meant? But as he looked around still confused by this weird technology, he-!

"AAAGGGHHH!"

Shocked in seconds, he heard an earth shattering scream. As he heard it though, it took him a few moments to realise with a horrible chill going down his back, that the voice he heard was, "Hari!?"

"Meow!" Worried for her too, Oliver looked around the darkened room for her. But stopping him from jumping out of the bag, Kagi began running, forgetting his own aches and pain, he went in search for her quickly. He had to find her, to help her, heal her or-!

"AAAGGGHHH!"

Again another scream rang out, as it did Kagi turned. There he saw in another direction a huge source of light, however it wasn't a welcoming warm golden radiance like the sun. It was red, a vicious dangerous shade, it was disturbing for Kagi to even look at. But inside somehow he could feel it, Hari was in that direction, she was there, where that dangerous light was shining from. He had to go to her, so quietly and carefully he went to find her...

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Pete watching on from underneath his invisibility cloak was shaken. He had to silence a gasp of horror when first hearing the scream, the sound of it had chilled him to the depths of his core. It was something he never thought he would hear, but honestly. He'd never wished to hear that terrible sound, he also deep down didn't want to see, what horrors had happened back then. But he knew he had to, for the mission. But more importantly, he knew that if he was ever to gain a better understanding of Hari. He had to see the sufferings of her past... So gripping his right giant fist tightly and keeping the other against his trembling mouth, he forced himself to watch on as the others all shook and shivered at the sight that they were going to next have revealed to them...

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Making it finally to the source of that ominous shade of red light, Kagi then saw that he had made into an observatory room of some kind and there in the centre of it, was a giant wide window that was allowing this terrible light leak through.

"What's this place for?" He asked, then as he looked about himself, he finally went over to the window itself and looked out of it. There he saw through the transparent frame on the other side... was Hari, however he saw to his horror that the young girl was hoisted high into the air. She was held in place by some kind of strong green straps, they secured her arms and legs making her unable to move her limbs.

The space she was within looked almost looked like an engine room, as there were countless pipes and mechanisms about the place. All of them exuded something like steam and upon a lot of the various machinery were eerie red lights, making the whole place horrible and haunting with Hari hung up straight in the centre of it all.

Seeing her being treated so terribly in this manner, Kagi uttered, "What're they doing to her?" for then at that moment, he finally noticed the many red wires that were placed directly over her chest, where her heart surely was and as he noticed this one detail, he heard some deadly words being spoken down below, "Release the final pulse!"

ZZZAAAPPP!

In seconds a blast of terrible power was unleashed upon Hari's body, from all the surrounding machinery that passed through into her from the wires! As she shook and shivered from this red violent power tearing through her entire being, she did the only thing she was freely able to-!

"AAAGGGHHH!"

She released another horrible scream, it was heartbreaking. Seeing her entire body shake in agony from the torturous red light, Kagi shook with terror. Then in one chilling moment, Hari opened her green pained eyes and it looked like she'd-!
Immediately Kagi though ducked down, he don't know exactly why he did this. But seeing her like that in so much pain, in so much terror... he couldn't bear to see her like that. All he could do was hold his head and try to block his ears. He was praying, begging inside for anything in the world to make that horrible noise stop! To make this suffering end for her and for him! He couldn't take it! It was unbearable, it was-!

After what seemed like forever, the screaming stopped. Then after a little more time a cold calculating feminine tone Kagi knew too well said, "It seems her heart and body are still rejecting the Fragment's pulse... we will need to do something more here to succeed."

Kagi could hear some murmurings from the scientists who were there with her, but he couldn't hear exactly what was said then by them. But he heard the ending of it all as Rosso then decided, "No, that'll be enough of this process for this night." There was then silence again and after a moment, she finished saying, "Bring her down and return her to her room."
With those words, Kagi then could hear the sounds of levering and as he did. He knew that Hari was being brought back down to the floor again... then after some more time. The red lights were extinguished and he was bathed in darkness once more, as the sounds of many footsteps faded away.

Left in that cold darkness of reality, Kagi couldn't believe what it was he'd seen. Then as he thought of her, he had to wonder...how was he going to face Hari now? Was she alright? No, he knew she would be far from a good state. For after what she'd just gone through...would she-?

"Mew..."

Coaxed out of his shock momentarily, Kagi then saw with wide eyes who had gained his attention. It was none other than his feline companion, seeing him there he uttered, "Oliver?"

The orange kitten was clearly worried for him, for fortunately he'd been spared the terrible sigh from being concealed in Kagi's bag. Kagi didn't know what to do, but before he could react, Oliver had climbed up onto his lap and reaching up. He began to lick away the tears that were falling on Kagi's cheeks. Seeing and feeling this, the young boy hadn't even realised he'd been weeping. But as he finally did, he finally felt the depths of sorrow and pain that had been torn into him from the terrible experiment he saw being performed on her.

As Oliver continued to comfort him, Kagi shook and uttered only one name in desperate sorrow, "Hari...Hari...I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! Hari! I'm sorry!" For hated himself for not being able to save her from her suffering.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Pete having seen all this occur was struggling horribly not to cry himself then, he was holding down his own mouth so hard, he might of gone blue in the face. But he had to keep it all in, he couldn't be discovered in that place! If he was, it would be the end for him... however, it hurt having to contain this pain he was feeling deep within.

Everyone throughout the room was horrified. Nozomi seeing Hari go through this though had to know, "Why!? Why was she being put through something so horrific like that!" Then stopping for a moment she remembered the words that Rosso had said, she then asked as she remembered, "And what did Rosso mean when the Fragment was rejecting Hari!?"

Kagi hearing her ask this, looked to her sadly and then explained, "...Rosso was," then taking a brief moment to compose himself, he answered, "She trying to attune Hari's body so that the fourth Fragment would be taken directly into her body, she was trying to change the way Hari's body naturally operated so that... it would absorb the Fragment's power."

Mickey hearing this then asked horrified, "She was trying to make her own daughter take on the abilities of that madman who tried to attack you before?"

Kagi only made a single nod to this question.

Cait sith listening to this himself still atop Nozomi's head, couldn't help but say, "Now that hag really is a mad scientist in my book!" Then as he said this, he added, "I'd scratch her clean out of it with a heavy black marker!"

Reeve listening on himself, then agreed saying, "Indeed." However putting his hand over his own chest where his own Fragment lay within the depths of his own broken heart, he concluded, "Power will always drive those who thirst for it into the depths of madness and darkness."

Kagi hearing this replied, "Yeah it will," then looking to the screen again he added, "But I had no idea though how far that madness would go... until I everything began to happen later that night."

With that everyone turned back to the screen again, to see more images of this treacherous past...

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Making it out of that observatory room after a long time to regain his composure, Kagi had walked back quietly to his and Hari's room. With Oliver back within the safe confines of the bag. But as he travelled back he still couldn't help but wonder... what was he going to say to Hari after he made it back to her? Actually would she even be awake after all that? What was he to say or do? Should he comfort her, find out the truth about why that was happening or-?

Finally before he knew it, as these questions swirled round and round in his head. He'd made it back to their room. Looking at the closed door, he didn't know at first what to do... should he knock it or-?

CREAK!

Spooked the young boy jumped back! As he did, he saw that the one who'd opened the door was Hari herself. Looking to Kagi she asked, "You've returned, Kagi?"

Seeing her ask this so simply in her usual cool tone left the young boy feeling baffled at first. However he uttered after a moment, "Uh? Ah, yeah... yeah I have."

Bowing her head after she stared at him for a moment, Hari opened the door fully for him. Then Kagi entered and she closed the door behind them. Unbeknownst to them though, the pair of eyes who had followed the young boy still had their agitated sights focused squarely on them.

Quiet, as he entered back into the room. Kagi watched as Hari sat herself upon her own bed... as she did this, the young boy, releasing Oliver back onto the floor tried to think of something to do or say. So quickly, he asked turning back to her, "Um, Hari are you thirsty?"

With that the green eyed girl looked to him. As she did so, she replied, "That would be beneficial."

"Oh, okay?" He replied, with that he got out again his bottle of water and poured out a little cup for her.

Then as he finished this, he turned back to her. But before he could ask her anything, the young boy saw with surprise, that Hari had brought out a small plate of fish for Oliver, who happily started to eat it. The young girl stroked him as proceeded to do this and as she did, she revealed a small smile.

As he saw this, Kagi then remembered the past few nights and sometimes before that where he would see Hari with that same look on her face as she interacted with Oliver in the night. He had thought to himself now and again no some of those nights that she looked a little forlorn, but remembering what she had gone through that terrible night. He then came to an awful realisation... had she had the same kind of experiments done to her back then all those times like she had this night?

He didn't want that to be true at all, but sadly he knew that was only his selfish desire... reality as he had learned up to that point wouldn't be that kind to them. Feeling horrible knowing he was only just realising this fact, he looked to her and asked, "Hari... are you hurting?"

Her hand ceasing to move upon Oliver's fur, the young girl removed it from his head. This made the small kitten look up to her puzzled, but after a little he continued on to eat away. As he did this, Hari looked to Kagi and asked him, "Am I hurting?"

Nodding, Kagi then asked her as he walked over with the cup of water in his hand, "Yeah, I..." with that he decided to be honest with her, "It's just, I saw you tonight... in that big mechanical room, held up in the air and being zapped all over by that awful electricity."

Hari hearing him say this didn't respond at first, instead taking the cup from him. She looked down... then after some moments, she replied, "...So were you there."

"Yeah..." He didn't need to know how she did know, for knowing her keen perception. She'd seen him there through the window... thinking that he started to shiver in discomfort remembering that moment.

Hari then finishing a long sip of her drink responded, "I am not, hurting so much now."

Surprised by this, Kagi asked her, "You're not?"

With a simple shake of her head, Hari then explained, "My mother always makes sure to heal me after every test, so physically my body is perfectly sound."

"Your body?" Kagi asked her, to which Hari all did was nod before drinking again. But seeing this, the young boy wasn't pleased so he asked her, "But what about you, personally? Doesn't it upset you going through all that?"

"Upset?" Hari asked him, then seeing the shaken look that was on his face. The young girl looked down at her hands and replied after some consideration, "... I cannot answer that."

"Can't answer?" He asked her, again she shook her head. Seeing her do this he asked becoming upset himself, "How!? How can you not be upset! That woman put you through the worst! Why can't you get angry about it!? Why do you put up with all that!?" Then putting his hands on her shoulders he demanded, "Why!?"

Hari was silent, but her hands jerked ever so slightly from this act. As they did, she then responded, "For my mother's sake..."

"What?" Kagi uttered in disbelief.

Hari then looked up to him again and told him, "My mother gave birth to me, so I may complete her ardent wish."

"Her wish?" Kagi asked her.

Hari then explained, "Someone betrayed her in the past, stole everything from her... they ruined the life she had and she became the way she is now..." then remembering that horrible man's name again, she continued on to say, "When the time comes and I am ready to defeat the enemy who is Xehanort, I will make my Mother's wish come true."

"Then what?" Kagi asked her, for thinking of what that really meant for her. Taking a life that wasn't even directly linked to her, he asked, "What will that achieve."

Hari was quiet... before she answered simply, "I will make Mother happy... then maybe, she can be free... so she can revert back to the better person she was."

"A better person?" Kagi asked, for if there was one thing he would never believe. It was that one, then he told Hari,"You must be joking! Why are you sacrificing so much of yourself for her! It's wrong!"

"What?" Hari uttered confused, for she had never heard reasoning like this before.

Kagi then told her horribly upset, "A mother is supposed to live for her child! You shouldn't be the one that's giving everything up for her! What about your feelings!?"

"Mine?" Hari asked, for no-one had asked that of her before even once in her life.

Feeling his eyes well up not understanding her behaviour, Kagi then told her mad, "Hari you're an idiot!" With that he rushed over to her and opening his arms wide, he grasped on and held her tightly in a hug!

Feeling him suddenly rush and hold onto her like this, the young girl was still confused. But then she heard Kagi say, "Why do you give so much of yourself to others! Why can't you be more selfish!? Why do you put up with someone so cruel to you!"

Hari hearing him say this, was still before she reached one of her hands up to him and placed it upon his shaking back. Laying it there, she told him, "I told you, I was born for that purpose, my Mother decides-!"

"Don't you dare say it!" Kagi told her mad still, then squeezing her a little more tightly, he told her, "You weren't born to be a slave to that woman! You have the right to live your own life and decide your own fate! You're not a weapon like that to be used and abused!"

Hari hearing this was silent, but it was clear she was being affected by Kagi's words as her hand twitched, but she said again, "You're wrong, I was born to become Lachesis... I'm not someone who can-!"

"Then why did you want a new name!?" Kagi demanded out of her.

The young girl was stilled in seconds. Feeling her become still like this, Kagi then continued on and told her, "It's because you don't want this fate do you!? You've never wanted to be a weapon and hurt anyone deep down have you?" To which there was no answer, however Kagi was convinced he was right and nothing could stop him from saying his next words, "I know you don't! Cause I saw it! I saw your pain in that moment from the window! There's no way you can fool me! No-one can hide pain away like that! Not even someone who's so robot like, like you!"

Hari said nothing still, but still within the depths of her heart... she felt something. Something hurt, but at the same time it felt-!

Moving now both her hands up, she went to hold him and uttered, "Kagi... I-?"

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

Hearing these bangs, Kagi turned his head. Looking to it, he guessed with agitation who it was. His anger fuelling him, he released Hari and marching straight to the door he said, "Hey! You come in and try anything else on her I'll-!"

FWOOM!

Suddenly shocking him though, something moved fast past him, went into the room and-!

"Meow!?"

"Oliver!?"

It was done quicker than either child could react, for then in that heated moment. Oliver was snatched up and taken by the scruff of his neck by someone that Kagi thought he'd never see there in the realms of the laboratory. There standing before them, clearly agitated himself as the small kitten tried to make him let him go. It was none other than the street terrier Kagi had met in the alley all that time ago!
