The Pharaoh
It was another beautiful day in Paris. We go to Marlin's room where he and his kwami were watching a video of Alya in front of the bakery on his computer.
"Don't blink now, 'cause we are live from Paris. Yo peeps, Alya here, bringing you the one and only Ladyblog." Alya said until she hears a helicopter. "Huh? What is that?"
She sees a helicopter flying by while dragging Ladybug who was hanging on with her yo-yo. As she was being carried, she drops a book
"Ladybug in action. Hang on 'cause we're going for a ride." Alya said as she races over to the book that has just hit the ground. She gasps as she picked it up. "Freak out! What you got here is no ordinary book, it's a tenth grade history book. And I should know, 'cause I've got this very same book. Could our very own Ladybug be a high school student, in real life? Whoa!"
"I don't believe this" Marlin said as he stops the video
"I hear ya, Marlin" said Arachnus who was on top of his computer "Who would've thought that Ladybug goes to your school"
"But that's impossible" Marlin replied "If Ladybug was a student, then how come I've never seen her around?"
"I don't know" answered Arachnus
"It was rhetorical" Marlin said "But still, I can't help but feel that something is familiar about Ladybug"
"How so?" Arachus asked as he tilts his head
"Well. I notice that Ladybug's hair is done in twin pigtails. Almost like Marinette's" Marlin said before he shook his head "But what am I saying? There's no way that Marinette and Ladybug are the same person. That would be plain ridiculous"
Arachnus nods his head in agreement. Just then, they heard a knock on the door.
"Quick Arachnus, hide" Marlin whispered
Arachnus quickly hid in Marlin's hood just as Marinette comes into his room
"Marlin. Thank goodness I found you. You have to come with me" she said
"Where, sis?" Marlin asked curiously
"You'll see. Come on!" his sister said as she grabs him by the hand and races out of the room
"Whoa!" Marlin yelled as he was being dragged
The twins and Alya had just got off the bus and are walking through the streets
"So where are we going again?" Marlin asked his sister
"To the Louvre Museum" Marinette answered
"And you're bringing Alya, why?" Marlin asked
"I just thought I could show Alya something related to Ladybug there" Marinette answered
"Hmm" Marlin replied while placing his hand on his chin
"Can you believe it? All I gotta do is find to do who this history book belongs to and BAM, I figure out Ladybug's true identity! I'm so on this one!" Alya said as they head inside
"Good luck with that." Marlin replied
"You really think you could figure out who Ladybug is from a textbook that every high school student owns?" Marinette asks
"Yep. 'Cause our school is the only school that uses that book! HA! So, all I gotta do is find out which girl in tenth grade lost her history book last week. There are forty-three girls, not counting myself-" Alya said
"Forty-two! Not count you... or me." Marinette corrected as she and her brother catches up to her
"Sis has a point, Alya. There's like a bunch of girls in our school. How would you know if one of them is Ladybug?" Marlin asks
"Funny you should say that, Marlin" Alya replied "Yesterday, somebody didn't have their textbook in class."
As she said that, she elbows Marinette and continues onward again. The Dupain-Cheng twins runs to catch up with her
"Uh- I left it at home. You know how I always forget my stuff." Marinette said
Marlin gave his sister a look that says 'Really?'
"Hmmm" Alya said as she begins to narrow her eyes at Marinette and then begins to chuckle "Just messing with you, Marinette. Of course I'll only drop you from my investigation when you bring your history book back to class."
As the three walk through the Egyptian exhibit, someone carrying a folder pushes between them. Some papers flew out as he trips while dropping some kind of medallion. Marlin looks down at the papers and begins to pick them up
"It's not broken" the man said as he picked up the medallion
"Uh, I'm okay too, thanks for asking." Alya replied in an annoyed tone
"I'm sorry" the man said
Marlin walks up to him and holds out the papers
"Here. You drop these"
"Oh thank you" the man said as he took the papers before looking at them. "Hey, you're in the same grade as Alix, right? I'm her older brother, Jalil Kubdel."
"It's nice to meet you, Jalil. My name is Marlin and this is my older twin sister, Marinette and her best friend, Alya" Marlin greeted while introducing Jalil to his friends
"A pleasure" Jalil said "So you're into Tutankhamun too?"
"Tutankhamun?" Marlin asked in surprise "Isn't he that young Pharoah that ruled during Ancient Egypt?"
"Exactly" Jalil said before looking up "Dad!"
As he runs up. Marinette looks at Marlin in surprise
"Hey bro. How did you hear about Tutankhamun?" she asked
"I might have heard about it somewhere online" Marlin replied
"That was weird" Alya said as she watches Jalil "So again girl, why are we here? This exhibit's got something to do with Ladybug? For reals?"
"Wait what?" Marlin said confused
"Well uh?" Marinette began until she looks at some hieroglyphs on an Egyptian papyrus "Yeah, it's over there."
Marinette begins to take Alya over to the papyrus. Marlin just sighs and begins to walk over. Arachnus watches this in confusion while staying hidden. Just as Marlin walked over, Marinette became confused on where to start on the papyrus while Alya was looking bored.
'Oh boy. This is gonna take a while' Marlin thought
Meanwhile, someone opens a window to a museum and climbs in. It was some kind of robber wearing a black mask. He looks at some of the paintings with an evil smirk.
Back in the Egyptian exhibit, Alya and the Dupain-Cheng twins were still watching the papyrus to find anything about Ladybug.
"Sis, we've been looking at this Egyptian exhibit for at least half an hour. Do you know where it says anything about Ladybug?" asked Marlin
"Yeah, girl. Come on, tell us what it is already!" Alya added
"No, no, cause... it wouldn't be a surprise then..." Marinette said while muttering the last part under her breath "For you or me"
Marlin can only sigh at this. Just then, Jalil and his father walks up
"I'm telling you, father, it's right there in the hieroglyphics." Jalil said before pushing Marinette aside and looking at the papyrus. "Excuse me. There, as you know, the one with the scepter is Tutankhamun, the first. And there, opposite is Nefertiti, his princess. There are exactly one hundred mummies beside them. She died several years before him, and the sun god Ra took her as his goddess.
'Interesting' thought Marlin as he looks to where Jalil was describing
"Yes, I know all that. I'm the director of this exhibition, remember?" reminded Mr. Kubdel
"Then you also know that Tutankhamun wanted to bring his princess back to life, by offering the sun god a new wife. This seemed to illustrate the ritual he devised." Jalil said
"Is that even possible?" Marlin asked
"Of course" Jalil replied "Nobody has ever fully deciphered the hieroglyphics, but I have! It's a magic chant that needs to be recited in order to complete the ritual! I'm sure of it!"
"He kinda reminds me of someone else with crazy ideas... you!" Marinette said as she points at Alya
"She's got ya there, Alya" Marlin said with a chuckle
"Very funny. You might think my theories about Ladybug are crazy, but you watch, girl, I'll prove you wrong." Alya said
"Jalil, these types of frescoes are almost always the illustration for a legend. They called it a legend for a reason..." Mr. Kubdel stated as he walks off
"That's what everyone thinks. But I know it's real. I can prove it!" Jalil said as he attempts to stop his father
"Really? Exactly how are you going to prove it?" Mr. Kubdel asks
"I just need to get my hands on Tutankhamun's scepter and recite the spell!" Jalil said as he attempts to take said scepter. But his father quickly stops him.
"Are you serious? Don't even think of touching that scepter. I'd lose my job on the spot. It's a priceless historical object! Not a toy!" Mr. Kubdel scolded
Marlin and the girls can only watch as they argue
"Come on, dad! We have to try out the spell! What if Tutankhamun had found out how to bring people back to life?" Jalil asked
"Listen, Jalil! That's enough! Get your head out of those papyrus scrolls and focus on the real world! This one!" yelled Mr. Kubdel before walking off
Jalil dropped his papers feeling hurt
"Poor guy" Marlin said as he felt bad for him
In Hawk Moth's lair, the villain sensed Jalil's negative emotion as the window opens
"There's nothing wrong with living out a fantasy. Especially when I can make it a reality." he said as he converts a butterfly into an akuma " Fly away, my evil akuma, and transform that young man!"
The akuma then flew out
Back in the museum, the girls and Marlin were still looking at the Egyptian papyrus. Marlin then decides not to stand around any longer
"You know what? I'm out of here" Marlin said as he begins to walk off
"Where are you going, Marlin?" Marinette asks
"I'm going upstairs to explore more of the museum. Have fun" Marlin answered with a wave before walking away.
Alya looks at Marinette who only shrugs her shoulders
Marlin went upstairs and begins to explore the other parts of the museum. Arachnus then came out of his pocket
"Are you sure it was a good idea to go off on your own?" the kwami asked
"Hey, it's better than just standing around looking at the Egyptian papyrus for hours" Marlin replied "I'll come back when I'm done"
As they were walking down the halls, Marlin then notices a particular painting with interest. Walking up, he sees that it was a painting of a man wearing a black mask with lenses like the mask he wore as Spider-Man. He was also wearing a suit that looks like it came from England many years ago. But what surprised Marlin was the fact that he was wearing the Spider Miraculous on his wrist.
"Who's this?" he asked as Arachnus gets a good look at the painting
"I know him. His name is Peter Parquagh" the kwami replied "He was the Spider Miraculous holder during the Elizabethan era in the year 1602"
"1602!?" Marlin said in surprised "I didn't know there was a Spider Miraculous holder before me"
"It's true, Marlin. You see, we kwamis have lived throughout the millennia. We have been passed down from one holder to another who would use the miraculouses for the greater good. But sometimes there can be those who would use it for their own selfish reasons" Arachnus explained
"Like Hawk Moth" Marlin said with a frown
"Stop thief!"
Marlin and Arachnus were alerted by the yell. Arachnus hid back into Marlin's pocket as he turns to see a robber running down the halls with a sack full of paintings in it. Then a museum employee ran by. He pants while placing his hands on his knees before resuming his chase. Marlin shows a determined look as he knows what he has to do.
Meanwhile, Jalil was outside the museum still upset about what his father had said to him. Just as he sat down at the edge of the fountain, the akuma flew into his amulet which evilizes him.
"Pharaoh, I am Hawk Moth. I have endowed you with the magical power of the ancient gods. You must do me a favor in return for this gift." Hawk Moth said telepathically
"My precious Nefertiti will come back to life!" Jalil said as he gets covered in shadow
Back in the museum, the robber continues to run from the employee until Spider-Man intercepts him
"Hey dude. Isn't the gift shop that way?" he asked as he points forward
The robber gasped at the sight of the webslinger. He takes out a gun and aims it at him. Seeing this, Spidey quickly shot a webline and pulls the gun out of his hand to disarm him. Spider-Man then uppercuts the robber which knocks him out and sending the sack flying. Just at the employee ran up, he saw the hero grab the sack and then tying the robber up with his web in case he tries to escape. Spider-Man looks into the sack to check to see if any of the paintings inside got damaged.
"Phew. They're all okay" he said
"Spider-Man?" the employee said as he walks up to him
"Here you go, sir" Spidey said as he gives him the sack "All the paintings are in this bag"
"Thank you. How can I ever repay you?" the employee asked
"Nothing much" Spider-Man answered as he looks at the unconscious robber "Except by calling the police to haul this guy off to the slammer"
"Sure thing" the employee said
Spidey then walks down the halls. Before he can find a place to transform back, he notices a guy wearing a golden mask heading toward the Egyptian exhibit
"Who is that?" he asked before deciding to follow him
Back in the Egyptian museum, Marinette was still trying to show Alya where the detail of Ladybug is
"Look closely! It is in there." she said
Marinette then heard a whistle and turns to see a museum employee confronting Pharaoh who had just came into the Egyptian exhibit. Unbeknownst to them, Spider-Man had snuck in also and crawled up one of the pillars. Spidey watched as Pharaoh trapped two people in some kind of bubble. He then tried to trap Alya and Marinette in a bubble too, but Marinette pulled her best friend down to avoid it. Alya smiled and took out her phone.
"Alya!" Marinette yelled as her best friend hid behind another exhibit to record everything
Spider-Man watched as Pharaoh send the bubbles away and head to the sarcophagus in the machine. As Marinette hid behind another part of the pillar, she looks up and saw Spider-Man. She gasps , but the web-slinger put his finger to his lips. He then motions Marinette to get away. Getting the message, Marinette ran off. Spider-Man then crawls down to see Pharaoh levitating the scepter towards him. Alya was recording this
"OMG. Coming to you live, Ladyblog viewers, I'm at the scene even before Ladybug, Cat Noir, or Spider-Man! This is insane!" she whispered
Spider-Man saw this and can only face palm at this
'Sacré bleu' he thought
Just as Pharaoh levitates the papyrus over to him, Spider-Man decides to step in. He lands in front of him
"Hey man. Isn't it a little early for Halloween? Cause let me tell you. You look just like a Pharaoh" Spider-Man quipped
"Insolent bug! I am the Pharaoh!" Pharaoh yelled
"Really? You almost had me convinced. And by the way, I'm an arachnid, not a bug" Spider-Man replied
Pharaoh growled in annoyance and attempts to punch him, but Spider-Man does a backflip. Just then, Ladybug arrived on the scene
"Hi, Spidey. Fancy seeing you here" Ladybug said with a wink
"You as well. I was just about to fight this so called Pharaoh. But I always appreciate your help" Spider-Man replied
Ladybug smiles and then turns to the akumatized villain
"You know that's considered stealing." she said
"Actually, I'm taking back what rightfully belongs to me." Pharaoh replied
"Maybe if you were the real Pharaoh, which you're not!" Ladybug retorted
"And besides, all the pharaohs have died off millions of years ago. You are obviously an imposter" Spider-Man added
"You dare mock me!?" Pharaoh yelled
"Look at Ladybug and Spider-Man go! If I'm dreaming, don't wake me up!" Alya said as she records them. Ladybug and Spider-Man both notice this and attempts to shoo her away, but Alya did not seem to get it.
"They waved at me! No way!" she said
Spidey could only face palm at Alya's misinterpretation. Ladybug first attacks Pharaoh with her yo-yo, but he grabbed it and swung her away which makes Ladybug crash into a wall.
"You're gonna regret that!" Spidey said as he shot a web line at Pharaoh
The akumatized villain grabs the line and pulled him in, but Spider-Man delivers a kick which knocks him back. Spider-Man then attempts to deliver several punches to Pharaoh, but he dodges and block every strike. Pharaoh then punches Spider-Man back which made him skid back a bit. After recovering from it, Spider-Man then began to shoot his webs at Pharaoh. He kept doing it until Pharaoh's upper body was wrapped up in a cocoon. Unfortunately, Pharaoh used his strength to break free of the webs.
"Enough of this!" Pharaoh yelled "Sekhmet, give me your strength!"
His face changes to that of a lioness. Pharaoh then walks over to the bars. He grabs them and bends it only to find Cat Noir in front of him.
"How nice of you to hold the door open for me!" the feline hero said
"Perfect timing, CN" Spider-Man said
"Thanks, Spidey" Cat Noir replied as he jumped up to attack
But just as he does so, Pharaoh grabbed him and threw him into the sarcophagus which closes behind him
"Enjoy your coffin!" Pharaoh laughed as he walks through the bars
"Hang on Cat. Help's on the way" Spider-Man said as he rushes up to the coffin just as Ladybug came up
"Ladybug, are you alright?" he asked
"Just a little bruised, but I'm okay" Ladybug replied with a smile
Alya had recorded the heroes as they now tried to free Cat Noir from the coffin
"This is hecka crazy! Keep your eyes peeled!" she said only for Pharaoh to stand over her "Hiya!"
"Your face" Pharaoh said as he put a hand on Alya's face "Fate has placed you on my path. Come with me!"
Pharaoh then grabs Alya and slings her over his shoulder
"Hey! Hands off the threads. I can walk myself!" Alya yelled as the akumatized villain carried her away
"He's got Alya!" Spidey said as he saw this
"Seriously!?" yelled Ladybug
"Stand back. I got this" Spidey said as he placed his hand on the coffin. He then grunts as he used his spider strength to open sarcophagus, freeing Cat Noir
"Phew. Thanks, Spidey. It sure was cramped in there" Cat Noir said
"No problem" Spider-Man said "Come on. We got a damsel to save"
The three heroes then ran after them
"Let her go!" Ladybug yelled
"Hiding behind an innocent bystander! You're weak, Pharaoh!" Cat Noir yelled
"Yeah. It's not polite to pick up a girl like that" Spider-Man added
"I'm way more powerful than you are." Pharaoh claimed as he used his strength to bend the bars back in place
"And don't forget! All the latest behind-the-scenes are on my blog!" Alya said with a wink as she was taken away
"That Alya is one brave chick." Cat Noir commented
"If by brave, you mean bossy, feisty, and bold? Yup, that's her!" Ladybug said
"Don't forget stubborn. But still, whatever Pharaoh wants with her, it definitely spells disaster" Spider-Man claimed
"I agree. Come on, get us out of here, Cat Noir!" Ladybug said to Cat Noir
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir cried. He then used his power on the bars which makes them rust and fall down
"You know. I could've used by spider strength to bend the bars" Spider-Man said
"Maybe next time" Ladybug said as she patted him on the shoulder
They then made their escape
"How are we gonna find them?" Cat Noir asked
"Alya's got a livestream on her blog!" Ladybug said as she plays a video on her yo-yo
"Hi, everyone! Alya here, liveblogging from the shoulder of the terrifying villain! Huge scoop to come, stay tuned!" Alya said
"Looks like Pharaoh brought her outside" Spidey said
Just then, Cat Noir's ring began to beep
"Uh. You two go on ahead. I'll join you as soon as my Miraculous is charged up again." he said
"Hurry up. It's gonna take three of us to defeat him." Ladybug said
"See you in a bit, Cat" Spider-Man said
Spider-Man and Ladybug ran forward while Cat Noir ran in the opposite direction.
As Ladybug an Spider-Man stopped for a bit, they watched another video from Ladybug's yo-yo.
"Uh, excuse me, Pharaoh, but, uh, what exactly is going on here?" Alya asked
"I'm going to carry out the secret spell to bring Nefertiti back!" Pharaoh answered
"Ahh, hmmm. Gotcha! You're talking about the spell on the papyrus, right?" Alya asked
"Correct! The one hundred mummies and the offering!" Pharaoh said
"Offering. What offering?" Alya asked
"To persuade the sun god Ra to give me my sweet princess, I must give him something in return. A pure soul!" Pharaoh replied
"Dude, that's hard to come by." Alya said
"But I've already found her! You look so much like her!" Pharaoh claimed as he looks at part of the papyrus
"Say what!?" Alya asked in shock
Pharaoh then laughs as the video finishes
"So that's what this is about. He's going to perform the ritual that was on the Papyrus" Spider-Man said
"We can't let that happen" Ladybug said as she puts away her yo-yo "Come on, Spidey. We got to save her!"
"Right!" Spidey said as they continue to run
"Hold on Alya!" Ladybug yelled
But as they run, Spider-Man's spider-sense goes off
"Ladybug, wait!" he yelled
But it was too late, as Ladybug suddenly ended up in a time bubble. Spider-Man was able to stop just in time
"Oh no!" he yelled as he ran up to the bubble "Ladybug, can you hear me?"
Ladybug saw him and attempts to get out
"Spider-Man. I ran right into one of these time bubbles! I got to get out of this" Ladybug said in slow motion while attempting to pound on the bubble
"Oh man. I guess being trapped in a time bubble has also make you a little slow" Spidey replied in worry
Inside the bubble, Ladybug watched another video on her yo-yo
"Ladybug, this is Alya! I just found out I'm the sacrificial offering to the sun god! Please hurry!" Alya yelled
"Alya! Spider-Man. Get me out of here!" Ladybug said in slow motion while still in the time bubble
"Hang tight, Ladybug!" Spider-Man said before noticing a metal pole sign.
He shoots a web line at it and pulls it toward him. Once it's in his hand, Spider-Man then swings the pole at the bubble and pops. Ladybug nearly lost her balance, but Spider-Man threw the sign away and stopped her from falling.
"You alright?" he asked
"Yeah. Thank you" Ladybug said in slow motion
"Oh no. The time bubble is still affecting you" Spider-Man gasped
But then Ladybug begins to laugh
"Just messing with you" Ladybug said as she talks normally
Spider-Man sighed in relief
"Why did you do that?" he asked
"I just thought I have a little fun with you" Ladybug said with a wink
"Heh heh. Right" Spider-Man said embarrassed
Cat Noir then came in
"Thanks for waiting you two" he said
"No problem!" Ladybug said as they raced up the stairs. "We've gotta find the hidden akuma and free it before he sacrifices that poor girl!"
They then arrived at the front door to see a bunch of mummies outside.
"I can see a bunch of mummies out here." Spider-Man said
"But I don't see her or Pharaoh." Ladybug said
"To the roof" Spider-Man replied
The three heroes were then on the roof to get a bird's eye view.
"Over there" Cat Noir said as he points to a bunch of mummies walking around Pharaoh and Alya. She then notices something on the papyrus.
"Whoa, back up! Who's that goddess chick with the black spots! There, on your papyrus!" Alya asked
"Ladybug, my sworn enemy! My nemesis may have kept me from carrying out my ritual 5000 years ago, but she will not stop Nefertiti from coming back to me this time!" Pharaoh said angrily
"Did you say... Ladybug 5000 years ago?!" Alya asked in surprised
The three heroes watched this from Ladybug's yo-yo
"Whoa!" Spider-Man said in surprise
"Everyone does have a past they can learn from." Ladybug said
"Well, you don't look a day over 3000." Cat Noir said as he looked at her
"Now you know why I'm so much wiser than you. Hm!" Ladybug said with a smirk
"But if what Pharaoh says is true, he must be talking about a different incarnation of Ladybug. Our Ladybug almost looks the same age as us. She's also a lot more prettier too" Spider-Man said
"Oh stop" Ladybug chuckled as a blush appeared on her face
Cat Noir couldn't help but narrow his eyes at this. He was starting to get a little jealous. They then saw Pharaoh about to perform the ritual.
"Oh, sacred Ra, god of the sun, I Pharaoh, offer to thee a pure soul! The sacrifice for the return of Nefertiti!" Pharaoh said as the mummies grabbed Alya and the scepter lights up the Louvre pyramid and a beam of light flows up to the sky.
"I bow to you, and present this gift with my mummies! In company, we pray to you the safe return of princess Nefertiti! Awaken, Nefertiti! Awaken! Awaken, Nefertiti! Awaken!" Pharaoh continued
"Awaken, Nefertiti... Awaken... " the mummies repeated
"Ladybug!" Alya yelled as the mummies carried her towards the pyramid
"We've gotta save her before he completes the ritual, or Alya will be gone, forever!" Ladybug said
"What should we do?" Cat Noir asked
"Hold back the mummies while I take on Pharaoh" Ladybug said to Cat Noir while turning to Spider-Man. "Spider-Man you rescue Alya from the mummies"
"Got it!" Spidey said
"Why do I have to deal with these freaks while you and Spider-Man get to slip calmly round back?" Cat Noir asked
"Because I'm the only one who can capture his akuma and I trust Spider-Man to save Alya. And because you are the bravest one out of all of us!" Ladybug said
"Sure" Cat Noir said as Ladybug and Spidey swung away "I know you don't really think that, but I'll pretend you do."
"Awaken, Nefertiti, Awaken... Awaken, Nefertiti, Awaken..." the mummies as they continue to carry Alya to the pyramid
"Hey there, you bunch of bandages! What do you say we wrap this up!" Cat Noir called from a lamppost
"Cat Noir!" Alya beamed at him
"Seize him!" Pharaoh ordered
The mummies begin to chase Cat Noir who begins to hop to different lamppost
"Is that really as fast as you can go?" the feline hero asked
"Wait, this looks... like a trap!" Pharaoh said
Spider-Man shoot a web line and swung down towards Alya. Once he was close enough, Spider-Man grabs Alya's hand and swung away
"Horus, give me your wings!" Pharaoh said as his head becomes a falcon's
The webslinger then swung onto a rooftop where Ladybug was waiting for him.
"Good work, Spidey" she said
"Peeps, you just witnessed an insane feat from Spider-Man! Thanks for saving my butt!" Alya said as she points her phone at him
"Uh, no problem. Ms." Spider-Man said "But we're not out of the woods yet. You see, Ladybug needs to..."
"Destroys the pendant containing the akuma, and turns everything back to normal!" Alya interrupted which surprises Spider-Man and Ladybug "I paid attention"
"Wow" Spider-Man said
"The pendant! Good eye!" Ladybug said
Suddenly, Pharaoh flew up to them. Spider-Man saw this
"Akumatized villain at 4 o'clock!" he yelled
Alya gasped as she saw Pharaoh coming. Pharaoh flew in and grabs Ladybug. He then proceed to drop her from the air.
"Ladybug!" Spider-Man yelled
But Ladybug shot her yo-yo at the terrace allowing her to slow her decent and land on the ground
"Phew" sighed Spider-Man
"Way to go Ladybug!" Alya called as she recorded this on her phone
Just then Pharaoh came up. Spider-Man got in front of her
"If you want her, you'll have to go through me!" he yelled
"Get out of the way, insect!" Pharaoh commanded
"Make me!" Spider-Man yelled as he moves in to punch him, but Pharaoh grabs his fist.
He then lifts Spider-Man over his head and throws him off the building
"Aaah" Spider-Man yelled as he fell
Ladybug gasp as she saw this. Spidey quickly shot a web line at part of a building. As his descent slowed, Spidey landed on his feet.
"Are you okay?" Ladybug asked as she ran up to him
"Yeah. I'm fine. Thanks for asking" Spider-Man replied
Pharaoh approached Alya and snatches her phone. He then throws it off the roof
"No!" Alya cried
Spider-Man saw this
"I got it!" he said as rushes over. Just as the phone was about to hit the ground, Spidey jumped and catches the phone
"Wow. Nice catch" Ladybug said with a smile
"Thanks" Spider-Man said
"You're not going to win, Ladybug!" Pharaoh said with Alya under his arm
"Help me, Ladybug!" she yelled
"Crush those insects!" Pharaoh ordered
His mummies then surround them
"I'm an arachnid!" called Spider-Man in irritation
The two heroes then witnessed Pharaoh flying over to the pyramid and placing Alya on the beam of light which carried upward to a circle of darkness. Ladybug and Spider-Man gasped at this. Spider-Man then gives a determined look. He then runs in and punches one of the mummies. Then he shot two weblines at the other two mummies and pull which makes them hit each other in the head. Getting an idea on what the wallcrawler is doing, Ladybug shot her yo-yo and trips one of the mummies. She then thrust her yo-yo at the last mummy and knocks it down. With this accomplished, the two heroes then race off to help Cat Noir
Meanwhile, Cat Noir was holding off the mummies
"What the?!" he yelled as he saw some mummies carrying a car towards him
But just as they throw it at him, Ladybug wrapped her yo-yo around Cat Noir's ankle and pulls him away.
"Cat Noir!"
"Over here!" Spider-Man added
The three heroes raced to a bus. While Ladybug went to the door, Cat Noir slid underneath to the other side. Spider-Man climbs on the bus and leaps behind it. Just as the mummies got closer, Ladybug went inside the bus. Just as the mummies followed her inside, Ladybug came out through the other door and it closes behind her. Spider-Man then made his move
"Time to give these mummies something to curse about" Spider-Man quipped as he used his Spider-Strength to overturn the bus
He and Cat Noir then met Ladybug in front of the bus
"That takes care of the mummies" Spidey said
"But we have to save Alya before she reaches the circle of darkness!" Ladybug said
"Let's get to it!" Spidey said as they raced towards the pyramid, but Pharaoh got in front of them
"You will not stop me from bringing Nefertiti back! I'll finish you off! Anubis, bring me mummies!" he said as his head turns into a Jackal
Pharaoh then shoot laser beams at the three heroes but they dodge them all. Ladybug throws her yo-yo and wraps Pharaoh up with it. Cat Noir then uses his staff to pole vault over Pharaoh and climbs up to the pyramid to rescue Alya. Spider-Man then races over to Pharaoh
"Horus, give me your wings!" Pharaoh said as his head turns into a falcon's again
He then flew up, dragging Ladybug with him. Spider-Man gasped at this. They flew all over the air until they go up to the circle of darkness. Ladybug then gets onto Pharaoh's back and rips the pendant off his neck. The pendant then fell to the air. Ladybug then leaps off of Pharaoh
"Guys! The pendant! That's where the akuma is!" she called as she used her yo-yo as a helicopter
Cat Noir leaps down next to Spidey. They turned to each other and nod their heads. Spidey and Cat then raced towards the falling pendant. Ladybug then landed on the ground and joined them as they try to get the pendant. Unfortunately, Pharaoh landed on top of the pendant
"Sekhmet, give me your strength!" he said as his head turns into a lioness again. Using his power, Pharaoh created a shockwave that blows the heroes away. Fortunately, Spidey was able to put his hand on the ground to stop himself. He then saw some mummies surrounding them. Pharaoh then picks up the pendant
"It's over" he said as he walks away
"Ladybug, save me!" Alya yelled
"No!" Spider-Man yelled as he saw this
"Oh, Ra, god of the sun, accept this humble offering and return the princess to me!" Pharaoh yelled
"Lucky charm!" Ladybug yelled as she threw her yo-yo up. It swirls with magical ladybugs and then a Ladybug costume came out. Ladybug caught it
"A Ladybug outfit?" she said in confusion
"That's our last hope?" Cat Noir asked
"How are you going to use that to defeat Pharaoh?" Spider-Man asked
Ladybug's vision highlights to the earrings
"I have an idea" she said with a smirk. She then approaches Pharaoh "This offering isn't good enough for Nefertiti!"
"Hey! Thanks a lot!" Alya yelled in offense
"Too late, Ladybug! The ritual has begun!" Pharaoh said
"Set Alya free and sacrifice me instead! " Ladybug offered to the akumatized villain "Wouldn't that be the sweetest revenge? 5000 years later! After all, I'm the one who kept Nefertiti from you all these years!"
'I hope you know what you're doing, Ladybug' thought Spider-Man with worry
"It's true that you make a much more precious offering than this mortal." Pharaoh said as Ladybug takes his hand. "Horus, give me wings!"
His head becomes a falcon and he and Ladybug flew up. They then reach the beam of light where Alya is
"Seriously?" Alya asked before Horus throws her off the beam. Alya then slid down on the pyramid and fell on her rear
"Excuse you, but I make excellent sacrificing material!" she yelled as she crossed her arms
Pharaoh then placed Ladybug on the beam of light
"Take her Miraculous! The earring!" Hawk Moth commanded telepathically
"You win, Pharaoh..." Ladybug said as she pretends to take off her earrings. As Pharaoh held out his hand for her to give it to him, Ladybug snatches the pendant from him. "You want my Miraculous? Go get it!"
She then throws the fake earrings away
"Get it!" Hawk Moth ordered telepathically
Pharaoh flies down and grabs the earrings. Only to realize that they were the fake ones from the costume.
"A toy?" he said "You tricked me!"
Ladybug then punches the pendant and the akuma comes out. The beam of light then vanishes which lowers Ladybug down. She then slid down the pyramid
"No more evil doing for you, little akuma." Ladybug said as she opens her yo-yo "Time to de-evilize!"
She throws her yo-yo and captures the akuma
"Gotcha!" she said before releasing the purified akuma "Bye bye little butterfly. Miraculous Ladybug!"
Ladybug then throws the costume up into the air and it burst into a swarm of magic ladybugs flew around. They made the circle of darkness disappear and repaired all the damage that has been done. Even the mummies were changed back into people. The Pharaoh then changed back into Jalil
"What happened?" he asked in confusion
Spider-Man then comes over and hands Alya her phone
"Here. I believe this is yours"
"Thanks Spidey" Alya said as she takes her phone back
Ladybug then comes over
"Hey Ladybug! Uh, I still gotta ask: how old are you, really?" she asked
"Um, much older than a high school student, that's for sure!" Ladybug replied before swinging away
"Don't you wanna know how old I am?" Cat Noir asked
"In a sec, looks like I'll be able to tell for myself." Alya said as she points her phone at him
But Cat Noir notices that he is a bout to transform back so he runs off. This made Alya laugh until she notices Spider-Man is the only one left
"Hey Spidey" she said as she came over to him "What about you? How old are you?"
"Uh. I'm not sure I should talk about that. But I will say that I'm also not as old as a high schooler" Spider-Man answered
"Uh huh" Alya said
"Well I better go. Take care of yourself, Ms" Spider-Man said as he shot a webline and swung off
"See ya!" Alya said as she waves
Back in the museum, Marlin had changed back to his civilian attire and is seen looking at the portrait of Peter Parquah again with Arachnus.
"Well, I guess you can say this adventure is all wrapped up" Marlin said
"Seriously?" Arachnus said with a sweat drop
"Oh come on. That was good" Marlin replied
"Marlin?"
Arachnus quickly hid in his pocket, as Marlin turns to see his twin sister coming up to him
"There you are. Where have you been?" Marinette asked
"I was just looking at this portrait. But when I learn that this akumatized villain was attacking here. I had to get myself to safety and find a hiding spot" Marlin claimed "I came back here once the coast was clear"
Marinette smiled and gives him a side hug. After that she notices the portrait
"Hey. Is that?" she asked
"Yep. This is Peter Parquagh. He's the Spider Miraculous holder of the year 1602. In the Elizabethan era" Marlin replied
"Wow. Looks like Ladybug's not the only that had a past life" Marinette said with a smile
"Indeed, sis. Indeed" Marlin replied which makes her giggle
Back in Hawk Moth's lair,
"You might have gotten away this time, but I assure you, Ladybug, some day, wherever you are, I will have your Miraculous, and you'll be nothing! Nothing at all!" he vowed as the window closes
Marlin and Arachnus were back home at night. Marlin was lying on his bed
"Phew what a day" he said "But I'm glad it's over"
"I know" Arachnus added
"You know it still baffles me that there was a Spider miraculous holder way before me" Marlin said as he sat up
"Well, you'd be surprised how there are many more Spider Miraculous holders that had stemmed throughout history, kid" Arachnus replied
"I see. Were any of them the same as the other?" Marlin asked
"To answer your question, every Spider Miraculous holder that I've been with is different. And sometimes being a different Spider Miraculous holder is not all bad once you get used to it" Arachnus said
"You're right, buddy" Marlin said as he got off his bed "I'm not going to sleep yet."
"What are you doing?" Arachnus asked
"I'm just doing a quick study on my history. I'm gonna have that exam on Ancient Egypt tomorrow" Marlin replied as he sat at his desk and begin to read his History book.
Arachnus could only smile at his holder as he was studying.
