It was a relatively normal day at the Jujutsu Tokyo Metropolitan High School, well, as normal as a day at a school for sorcerers exorcizing curses could be of course, but still relatively normal.
Nobara, Megumi and Yuji were sitting at the tables, waiting for Gojo-sensei to arrive. He told them to wait for him the first hour in the morning(he told them to be there at like 4 or 5 in the morning, and yet…here they were at 10 AM and no sign of Gojo-sensei yet).
"Where. Is. He! GODDAMNIT!" Nobara shouted in frustration, her butt started to hurt from all the hours spent sitting and she really needed to stretch her legs or do something.
And if Gojo-sensei wasn't to appear in like the next hour, said "do something" will probably involve her killing either one of Megumi or Yuji with her hammer.
"I'm really gonna hit Gojo-sensei when he comes…" Megumi stated in light annoyance, not really angry but still he'd probably end up beating the crap out of Gojo-sensei if he got his hands on him.
"Relax guys! C'mon! It's your fault for not bringing your phones around! We could watch a video or something while we wait." Yuji said with a smile, gaining some glares from Kugisaki and Fushiguro.
"I don't have a smartphone. I'm from the countryside and it's not like money grows in trees. So yep, I don't even afford a cellphone, what to say about a smartphone…" Nobara replied in a slightly gloomy manner.
"I don't need one. I'm a Jujutsu Sorcerer, not a delivery boy. The only reason I even have a cellphone is due to Gojo-sensei." Megumi stated bluntly, causing both Nobara and Yuji to raise an eyebrow at that statement.
"Stop looking at me in that pitiful way. What do you want to show us on your phone anyways, Itadori?" Fushiguro asked Yuji in slight curiosity, I mean heck, everything would be better than waiting and doing nothing else than watch the paint dry on the walls.
"Didn't you hear what happened like a week or two ago? Chainsaw Man and Ben 10 fought that Control Devil who was actually [REDACTED] all along in the middle of Tokyo. Man, when that happened it was so awesome!" Itadori exclaimed with stars in his eyes and fan boyish enthusiasm, causing both of his classmates to sweatdrop a little and Nobara to have a mix of that and annoyance on the teen.
"Moron, that was a movie, don't talk about it as if it's real life. They showed it like two weeks ago. And nevermind that…I wanted to watch that movie and you just spoiled me on the ending!" Nobara growled at the salmon haired sorcerer, angry that he just spoiled her the movie that she was about to watch not even a day after this.
"W…woah…c…c'mon Kugisaki…t…that was an accident…n…no need to get so worked up over this!" Yuji shrieked as he barely dodged a hammer hit from Kugisaki, who was even madder than before, sitting for 5 hours straight while that Gojo-sensei jerk would finally arrive and also getting spoiled on a movie can do that to a person.
"A…and besides…I…I didn't even think you would be interested in that Ultimate Chainsaw thing…!" Yuji exclaimed in an effort to calm Nobara's spirits, unfortunately, forgetting that this is Nobara he's trying to calm down, as she just got even more mad at the salmon-haired teen.
"Why wouldn't I be interested in either one of Chainsaw Man or Ben 10?! It's because I'm a girl isn't it?! Itadori, you sexist son of a-!" Kugisaki growled as a thick mark appeared on her forehead and her face contorted into a feral rage
"Would you two idiots just settle down already? I don't need you two to annoy me now, that's what I already have Gojo-sensei for." Fushiguro said coldly in an attempt to diffuse the situation before things got ugly but was just flat out ignored by Kugisaki who was more busy trying to kill Itadori than listening to ration.
"W-wait...t…that's n-not what I-!" Itadori exclaimed back, not really liking where this was going or the fact that he was just insulted by Nobara. Before he could finish his sentence though, he got a kick from Kugisaki right into the side of his torso, sending him backwards into the ground.
"Owwww! That freaking hurt, Kugisaki you bitch!" Yuji shouted in pain as he held his side and got up from where he fell and readied his punch, not that he would really punch her or anything like that but just to maintain some ground in the argument.
"Huh?! How did you just call me?! If I'm a bitch then you are a…a…a…an annoying jerk, yeah!" Nobara growled back at Itadori who squinted his eyes as he glared at her in annoyance.
"Is that the best you can come up with?! Heh?!" Yuji barked back at the gingerhead, who by this point was a bit away from killing him.
However, before things could escalate any further the door of the class flung open as the white-haired mystery man covering his eyes, Satoru Gojo, finally arrived to class after the many hours he spend doing who knows what while his students did nothing but sit and wait for 6 hours straight.
"Yo! My beautiful students~! Let's stop fighting alright? Gojo-sensei is here~!" Satoru started with a smirk as he appeared before Kugisaki and Itadori who stopped their bickering to instead glare at their sensei with anger evident on their faces.
"Gojo-sensei…WHERE WERE YOU?! YOU DO THIS TO US EVERY MORNING!" Nobara shouted in the face of the white-haired man, pointing her hammer at the special grade sorcerer in front of her.
"I'm so sorry that I was late everyone, but I was walking through the city and I found myself getting nostalgic so I decided to go on a small shopping spree. It's understandable why it took me so long, riiiiighhhtttt…?" Satoru said in a sing-song childish voice, annoying the living heck out of the three teenagers. He was just plainly mocking them by this point.
"LIKE FRICK IT DOES, GOJO-SENSEI!" Itadori yelled at his teacher, causing said teacher to sweatdrop a bit as he leaned backwards just as Megumi's punch hit the wall next to Gojo's head.
"I swear that if you do this again tomorrow, I'll punch you. I'll punch you and I won't miss this time." Megumi stated bluntly to the white-haired man, who wasn't too phased by his student's threat as he ignored it and smirked at his wonderful students.
"Well, for your trouble of waiting for me for so long. I have an idea. Your next mission will be in…Tokyo! Yes, you heard that right, Tokyo! And that's not all, you, my absolute awesome students, will get to go on a small trip wherever you want to!" Gojo-sensei said, sounding as if he was a door-to-door salesman or a television guy trying to convince someone to buy his product.
And while Megumi was skeptical about Gojo-sensei's "vacation" for them and knowing his sensei, he was pretty sure that was a lie to get the idiots to come on a mission with no comments. And pretty surely, as the big time idiots that they are, Kujisaki and Itadori believed Gojo-sensei's words and started listing the things that they would want to visit in Tokyo.
"Sigh…here they go again on their daily Laurel and Hardy comedy routine. When will they learn…?" Fushiguro sighed in his mind as he watched the two idiots go at it, trying to convince Gojo-sensei to take them wherever they wanted to go. As expected, half of the stuff they wanted to visit weren't even in Tokyo to begin with.
"Ooooh, Gojo-sensei! Let's go to Kinkaku-ji! I always wanted to see a golden building up close! I mean…I always dreamed of living in a golden building myself since I was just a little girl…!" Nobara exclaimed with stars in her eyes before suddenly Yuji pushed her away from Gojo-sensei.
"Idiot! Kinkaku-ji is in Kyoto, Kyoto! We are in Tokyo. I have an even better idea! Let's go to Akihabara! They have so much fun stuff to do there! And maybe I'll even find some limited time-only Chainsaw Man figurine!" Yuji yelled in light annoyance before returning to his happy and excited demeanor. It didn't last through as an angry Nobara got up from the ground and rammed Itadori into the window.
"And I'm an idiot?! Akihabara is not even in Tokyo! That's in Iwaki!" Nobara exclaimed at Itadori, causing the salmon haired teen to get up from the window and knock the ginger head backwards.
"Iwaki?! Have you ever been to Tokyo before?! Akihabara is here, here! You're the one who knows nothing about Tokyo!" Yuji barked back at Kugisaki.
"Relax, relax, my students. You don't have to worry about anything like that. Lucky for you, I already planned out the perfect place for a road trip in Tokyo! Come along." Gojo-sensei said as he prepared to open the door only to be stopped when Kugisaki and Itadori jumped to hug him with stars in their eyes.
"Yay Gojo-sensei! You're the best!" Both Nobara and Yuji exclaimed as they hugged the teacher while Megumi was watching indifferently as he noticed Satoru's mysterious smirk forming once more on his face.
…Jujutsu Kaisen…
Said "planned place" however was not anywhere fancy in Tokyo as the trio would have hoped to, and as Megumi kinda expected, Gojo-sensei took them to a random school in Tokyo at night time, that was emanating a terrifying amount of cursed energy.
"Sensei! What kind of mental BS is this?! I thought you said you'd take us somewhere nice in Tokyo, not to some cursed school in the middle of the night while it is under 5 degrees!" Kugisaki shouted in a very annoyed tone of voice, evidentiated even more by the thick mark on her forehead.
"The language Kugisaki-chan. And I didn't say that we'll go somewhere nice in Tokyo. Besides that…aren't you curious what this mission is about? Not even a little bit?" Satoru asked his students in that annoying childish voice of his that just couldn't help but trigger Megumi.
"I'm seriously considering killing you right now but…I'll play your game, Gojo-sensei. Tell me exactly why you brought us here. I'm no expert but…that's a bit too much cursed energy emanating from even one building. What exactly are we dealing with?" Fushiguro asked as he tried to hold off from punching the white-haired man in the face.
"Well, to quickly explain it…This school was built on the remnants of another one. Said school that was here before was a grade school. Some nasty things happened that resulted in teachers committing suicide and students getting killed. Though that school known as Heavenly Host was closed and demolished, the anger of the people that died continued to live on…until…a special grade curse was born." Came Satoru's explanation, the special grade curse party really concerned his students.
"A-a-a Special Grade?! You aren't expecting us to deal with something like that on our own, do you!?" Nobara exclaimed, shock and horror evident in her voice. Was he really serious with this?
"Relax, my wonderful students. I have no doubt that you can defeat a special grade on your own. I mean you managed to defeat Hanami and The Cursed Portraits, not to mention that Itadori-kun went head-to-head with thar Mahito guy. I was supposed to do this job but I decided to let you do it, my students need to gain experience as Jujutsu sorcerers, right?" Satoru said with a smirk, obviously that was more of a lie to put his students to do all the work for him but hey, there was still some truth to that statement. This could be a perfect occasion for his wonderful students to learn and grow more as sorcerers. So win-win, right?
"So we're doing the work you were supposed to do? Isn't that against the rules for Jujutsu Sorcerers?" Megumi asked sarcastically with a slight smirk that caused Gojo to sweatdrop and prepare to get the frick away from there before his wonderful students could figure out that it was his plan all along(it was too late already but that still didn't stop Satoru from trying to flee).
"W-well! Look at the time! I almost forgot that I have something important…to do with…Nanamin, yeah! I have promised Nanamin that I'll have a friendly chat with him over tea and you know what he would be like if I'm late so…bye. If you need my help, just call me." Satoru stated nonchalantly as he started to speed his pace in his attempt to escape from his own students but…
"Gojo-sensei, wait. You don't expect us to break and enter into a school right!? Isn't that, like, illegal?" Itadori asked his sensei, stopping the fleeing Satoru who turned around and faced the Sukuna vessel.
"Umm…well, it's not breaking and entering now, is it? Did you forget that we as Jujutsu Sorcerers are allowed to bend the law a little, especially if we have contracts. And as it seems like, we do have a contract with the director of Kisaragi Academy(this school) who hired Jujutsu Sorcerers specifically to take care of the curse." Satoru Gojo explained with his mysterious all-knowing smile.
"I know but this still feels wrong. And what if someone is in there? What would we do-?" Itadori asked his sensei in slight worry.
"Itadori, do I need to remind you that you did break and enter into schools before. Such as when you and your occult club or let's not forget that time a while ago with Junpei? I think that's the least of your worries considering we will have to deal with a special grade?" Fushiguro stated bluntly towards the vessel of Sukuna who sweatdropped and sat on the ground in a crouching position.
"Oooof." Yuji groaned as he was remembered by that, but not really by what Fushiguro said but due to the mention of Junpei. Almost a month or two passed since that incident yet somehow Itadori could not forget how he let someone get corrupted and killed…all because he wasn't fast enough to help him.
Gojo-sensei noticed Itadori's sudden change in mood and how pale his face looked, so he decided to tell him a vital part of the mission that he almost forgot to mention in the whole commotion with Megumi and Kugisaki, so thank god Yuji reminded him of doing that to cheer him up. He didn't know how the fact that many people could die horrible deaths if Yuji would fail to defeat the Special Grade could possibly cheer him up but hey, it was worth a try at the very least, so that was that.
"Hey, Itadori-kun! There's one thing I didn't tell you about the mission. Many students went missing from many schools all connected to the Heavenly Host school incident I mentioned. So if you can get rid of that Special Curse…you'll save loads of people from certain early and gruesome deaths." Gojo-sensei said to his student in a sing-song voice that didn't exactly fit what he was trying to say.
Yuji's sorrow slowly but suddenly turned into determination. He may have let Junpei die back then but this time…he won't let another curse steal away someone's proper death like and kill them for their own sick amusement…he won't. No matter what.
With this newfound determination he got up from the crouching position he was in and faced his two classmates. "C'mon Megumi, Nobara! You heard Gojo-sensei! Let's take care of this special grade and save people!"
"Alright then. I will go spend some time with Nanamin and you guys have fun dealing with the special grade. As I said before, if anything happens just call me." Satoru nodded as he turned around to make his leave.
"But what if we don't have phone…" Fushiguro started to say before he noticed the fact that Satoru was long done by this point. "...signal…"
"Next time I see him, I'll punch him so much that he'll beg for mercy…!" Came Fushiguro's angry train of thought.
…X…
Fushiguro, Kugisaki and Itadori found themselves walking to the dimly lit corridors of Kisaragi Academy, nothing but the sound of their quiet footsteps echoing through the halls. It was pretty creepy, you'd have to admit.
"Why is it so dark in here? I can barely see where I am going! And besides that…where the f* is that curse?! We've been walking for minutes and nothing but our footsteps are heard! This is the last time I will trust Gojo-sensei on a Tokyo trip and besides that…!" Nobara started complaining for what felt like hours by this point, and she was really getting on Yuji's and Megumi's nerves.
"The school is closed and it's night. Of course it's dark in here, Kugisaki." Yuji pointed up with a thick mark appearing on his face, having got enough of Kugisaki's constant and annoying complaining. He didn't like how things were going either but no one saw him complaining at every sight.
"And as Gojo-sensei said…it's a special grade curse, intelligent. Of course it won't just appear at us on a whim. And the fact that you even considered trusting Gojo-sensei is your own fault. Let's just…!" Megumi said in his usual calm and collected demeanor before his eyes widened in shock.
"Fushiguro? What's the matter?" Came Itadori's question.
"Sssh…just be quiet and listen." The cursed spirit sorcerer stated bluntly as he, Itadori and Kugisaki remained quiet for a moment, only to hear someone talking somewhere farther up in the hallways.
"The reason we do this is for Mayu who will move to another school at the end of the year. So let's just get to do that ritual…" A female voice was heard from the end of the school hall and the three teenage Jujutsu sorcerers could swear that they saw a slight light coming from a door near the end of the hallways. "Now let's do the ritual! Sachiko…please, we beg of you…!"
"Someone's here? Didn't Gojo-sensei say that there is no one here? Then how…?" The salmon haired teen questioned himself out loud, he didn't even expect that anyone would be in a school after the closing hours(says the one who is in a school after closing hours)
"It doesn't matter how or why they are here! The main issue at hand is that they seem to do some sort of ritual. And by the sounds of it…it may be a ritual involving the special grade! We have to get moving before they finish it!" Fushiguro shouted to his classmates as suddenly the floor beneath their legs started to clatter as if there was an earthquake.
"Gah?! A…an earthquake?! W…what the…!" Nobara exclaimed in utter shock as she lost her balance and fell face first into the floor with a thud.
"It's not an earthquake. That means that they have already begun the ritual! Itadori, come with me. We have to stop this while we still can…" Fushiguro exclaimed as Itadori nodded and the two of them started running through the empty school halls and into the dimly lit room at the end of the hallway.
However before Fushiguro could get with Itadori to the door, another ritual-induced earthquake produced, causing a hole through the floor to open and separate Megumi and Yuji.
Fushiguro fell on the ground, and the Sukuna vessel stopped upon noticing that and prepared to run back for the cursed spirit sorcerer to get him before…
"Fushiguro! Are you alright?! I can come and-!" Yuji started talking but was cut off by Megumi.
