Nico is scared.

I'm going to tell Maki about my dream.

Of course.

She's fallen in love with Nico twice, she deserves everything Nico can give her. And more.

Nico's handwriting could be better. Nico's hands are shaking.

Nico can't breathe really well.

The door chime says Maki is here.

Last night Nico had a dream.

Hands were handling Nico roughly. In a sex way.

Hands were keeping Nico from moving.

Nico and her body were being slobbered on.

Nico wasn't on a JR train.

Nico was in a car.

Nico managed to get out of the car and then Nico was torn apart and then Nico thought she died.

Maki-chan kept telling Nico to keep breathing, but it is very difficult.

Maki-chan is familiar with Nico's tears.

Speaking of cars.

In cars outside where Nico lives were the Idol Research Club. Also Mimi and Rin were there. So is Mama. So are Cocoro and Cocoa and Cotaro.

Nico was in no shape to see other people, but Maki-chan said no one cared.

Nonetheless, Nico took a quick, cold shower, then she swallowed some medicine Maki-chan gave her.

I think having all those people - who all came in - some of whom had to sit on cushions on Nico's floor - that was supposed to jog Nico's memory.

Nico's only had one memory and it's from the same time. It's just the last one. And it's just a dream.

But what Maki-chan said? Nico knew it, somehow, in a way. Everything adds together. Everything makes sense. It's very, very unfair. Even six months out of a young idol's career, her training, can be deadly. Nico was already fretting, perhaps better to say panicking, about having to spend so much time rehabilitating. Now if Nico was not so sad she would laugh.

"You are missing almost three years, Nico. And we still don't know what happened to you. If your dream is true ... well, let's deal with one thing at a time. All the people here love you, and we don't want you to give up. You've kept on, you've shown your gaman, and I am so, so proud of you.

It's a little frustrating, and Nico's pale face is probably turning red.

"By yourself, yes, three years is impossible to make up for. But you aren't by yourself, Nico. Everyone loves you. Everyone will help. Don't be proud and don't despair."

Everyone but Maki-chan has gone home. Maki-chan is asleep in Nico's bed.

We need to part ways, Nikki-chan. All your days, all your numbers, are wrong. But it was right for me. For Nico-nii, Nikki-chan was the truth, and all this mysterious talk was just that - mysterious talk.

Maki-chan has her own Nikki. Which, wait for it, is actually you, too.

The twist ending is that you are really your little sister, Nikki-chan.

Nico-nii is becoming silly. It's a little painful getting in bed. It's a little awkward still holding you in one hand.

Honestly, honestly, Nikki-chan?
