Ally's POV:
It's been 3 weeks since the accident. Austin is slowly healing and I'm so relieved . He has no idea of the accident and I haven't visited him in a week because the guilt is eating me alive.
Although only little progress has been made for Austin the doctors are letting him go home soon as long as he gets a home nurse.
He's been texting me a lot lately and I already feel so guilty for not visiting him and the accident, that I've been ignoring his texts as well.
I was wiping down the counters at Sonic Boom when my phone started ringing. I put down the rag and picked up my phone checking the caller ID, it was Rocky.
I hit accept and pressed the phone to my ear. "Hello Rocky", I answered.
"Hey Ally!" He replied, excitement filling his tone.
"Hey what's got you so happy?" I asked curiously.
"I finally get to stop sitting in these awful chairs!" He responded cheerily.
"Huh?" I questioned confusedly.
"Oh yeah, I mean Austin's going home tomorrow, hence I get to stop sitting in these awful chairs." He replied.
"What that's amazing! I'll be there in 15!" I hung up and quickly closed up Sonic Boom, racing to get to the hospital.
15 minutes later, one almost car crash, and a stop to McDonald's for pancakes I finally made it to hospital.
I had just checked in at the lobby and was walking towards the elevator when I noticed 3 familiar faces.
"Jake? Ethan? Trevor? What are you guys doing here?" I questioned. They all looked up when I called out their names.
"Oh hey Ally! Janessa's getting her cast off so that's why we're here." Trevor answered. I saw Jake's eyes trailing down and stopped on the McDonalds bag.
"Yooo you got McDonalds for Austin again? He's a lucky dude." Jake added. I laughed slightly before replying.
"Yeah, he's going home tomorrow so i'm just bringing some pancakes to celebrate.
"That's awesome, your a great friend Ally." Ethan added.
"Thanks Ethan, nice running into you guys but I got to go. Maybe let's try meeting up soon?" I asked. "Sure." They all replied.
"See ya!" I said quickly before dashing into the elevator. I pressed the second loot button and impatient waited for the doors to open.
Finally they opened and I resumed my mad dash to get to room 601
This time I found his room without any problems. I quietly opened the door in case he was asleep. I smiled as I saw him asleep, he looked so peaceful and that made me feel even guiltier.
I walked towards him, placing the food bag on the table. I sat down in the vacant chair and gently brushed his shaggy blonde hair out of his eyes.
He flinched a bit and I froze. I stayed still for a moment and heaved a sigh of relief as I saw he had stopped moving.
I must have fallen asleep because I woke up to someone shaking me. "Rocky?" I asked groggily.
"Hey Ally, nice nap?" He said smirking. "Oh shut up I'm exhausted." I replied, yawning right after.
I glanced toward the window and took notice of the bright Sunday's. "What time is it?" I asked, much more awake now.
"4:30", he said while checking his phone. I nodded and turned back to Austin. I moved closer, noticing the sweat beads on his forehead. I pressed my palm to his forehead and felt it burning up.
"Rocky", I said worriedly.
"Yeah Ally?" He glanced up from his phone.
"Austin's burning up." I said checking his forehead again. Rocky walked over and placed his own hand on Austin's forehead.
"Gah, your right. His forehead's on fire, I'll get a nurse." Rocky exited the room, leaving me with the now sick Austin.
A few minutes later Rocky, Rydel, Riker, their parents, and a couple nurses entered the room. I moved away from Austin and let the nurses do their thing.
I glanced towards his family and noticed a member besides Austin I saw was missing.
"Hey guys, where's Ryland?" I questioned.
"Oh he's at a friends house. He needed a break from the hospital." Riker responded.
I nodded and went back to watching the nurses examined Austin.
A few moments later one of the
nurses turned towards us and placed her hands on her hips. I quickly glanced at her name tag and noticed it was Jenny.
Jenny went over a chart quickly before giving her attention back to us.
"It seems Austin's contracted a virus. This virus was passed down to him from someone so we'll need to test you all so we can stop it from spreading."
We all nodded at her and she talked to some of the other nurses for a moment before walking towards Riker and Rydel.
"You two, come with me. We're going to test two at a time so you two", she pointed to their parents. "Are next and then those two." She said pointing to me and Rocky.
Riker and Rydel left to go get tested and the rest of us sat down as we waited. I watched as the nurses placed an IV into Austin's arm and injected some medicine into him.
We sat in silence for about 10 minutes before Riker and Rydel returned. "Mom, dad, your up next." Rydel said as they switched seats.
"Hey guys", I spoke up. "Who do you think has the virus?" I questioned.
"I don't know, it's weird that supposedly one of us has it yet none of us are sick." Rocky answered. We all sat in silence and before I knew it, it was mine and Rocky's turn.
20 minutes later, Rocky and I have been tested and we're waiting for the results. I was sitting next to Austin holding his hand when I noticed a dot on his neck.
I brushed the hair away from the dot and inspected it closely. It looked like someone had injected a needle into him.
"Guys," I started. "Did one of the nurses inject a needle to Austin's neck?"
"I don't think so, but I'll go ask." Mike (A/N: I'm using Mike and Mimi as Austin's parents instead of Mark and Stormie) answered while getting up.
A few moments later Mike and Dr. Lynch entered the room. "Hello everyone, Ally, Mr. Moon says you think something's wrong?"
"Hi, yes, I was looking at Austin when I noticed a dot on his neck. I looked closely at it and it looked like an injection."
"Hmm, I don't believe any of our nurses gave him an injection but I'll take a look."
Dr. Lynch walked over to Austin and I moved over to give him space. He moved Austin's hair off his neck and brought a light to the dot.
"This doesn't look like any of our injections, I should know I studied them for 8 years. I'm going to get a nurse and we'll do a blood test. Otherwise, I think he may have been drugged, when was he last alone?"
I thought for a moment and remembered Austin was alone when I came, and I fell asleep giving the chance for someone to speak up.
I stood up when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye, a necklace.
I walked over to the item, picking it up gently. I inspected the necklace. It was a gold locket with a C & B engraved on the front.
"Uh guys", I spoke up. "First of all, Austin was alone when I came in here, and then I fell asleep giving the chance for someone to sneak in. Also, I found this necklace over here, maybe we can get it tested for fingerprints?"
I held up the necklace for them all too see. Dr. Lynch walked over and grabbed the necklace.
"I'll take this to get tested. The nurses will come in soon to test Austin's blood. Let me know if he wakes up soon."
We all nodded and he left the room with the shiny gold locket.
We all sat in silence, lost in our own thoughts when Rydel spoke up.
"That's so weird, someone broke in here and drugged Austin? You think for a famous person in a hospital they'd have better security."
We all nodded in agreement and Mike and Mimi left to go the cafeteria.
"We'll be back in a little bit, text us if he wakes up okay?" Mim asked nervously.
"Yeah we'll let you know if he wakes up. Go take a break you guys." I said giving them a sad smile.
They returned the smile and left the room leaving us to drown in the silence and tension.
it was another couple minutes of silence when no so Austin started twitching. I shushed everyone and pointed to Austin.
"Guys he's waking up!" I whisper yelled.
"I'll get our parents and the doctors!" Rocky yelled while raving out of his seat.
I watched Austin for a moment while he continued to twitch and move. After a moment his eyes opened.
"Austin your awake!" I yelled excitedly. "How do you feel? Are you okay?" I questioned excitedly.
"Ally?",he questioned. "What happened? And why do I feel like crap?" He winced in pain.
I shrugged not knowing entirely. "It's probably the drugs in your body." I said nonchalantly. His eyes widened in shock and surprise.
"You mean I have drugs in me?!"
I gave him a confused look, "Did you not hear me say you were drugged?"
He gave me a blank stare, "Ally someone broke in and drugged me. I have drugs in my body. Isn't that concerning?"
I stared at him blankly letting his words sink in when it clicked.
"Oh my gosh! Holy crap you were drugged! Why was I not freaking out this is crazy!"
He crossed his arms and gave me a 'I told you so' look. We stared at each other for a moment when Dr. Lynch came in the room.
"Oh Austin your awake. That's good, we're going to try to flush the drugs out of your system so I need everyone out."
We all nodded and left to the waiting room as we waited for the doctors to finish.
3 days later*
The doctors got the drugs out of Austin's system but made him stay a few more days to get rid of the fever. Today he could finally go home and I'm so excited!!
I quickly showered and dressed. I lightly curled my hair and applied a little makeup. I grabbed my phone and purse and locked my front door.
I started the ignition and turned the radio on humming along. The radio was playing a random song when it turned to my favorite song, Arrow by Laura Marano.
"Cupid's in the air tonight, he got an arrow in a gunfight, too hard to resist, but we do it anyway, it's stupid that he wants to try, he got an arrow in a gunfight"
I sang my heart out, I really loved that song.
I was thinking about it and Laura Marano kind of looks and sounds like me, probably just a coincidence.
I hummed along to the other songs occasionally skipping when my favorite band, The Driver Era, came on.
My favorite song of theirs, Heart Of Mine (A/N: my favorite is actually San Francisco but for the story allys fav is HOM) started playing.
"Lost if I'm hopeless, still yet I know this, I will get caught in all the time, ain't it amazing, constantly changing, don't wanna let it go"
I sang along thinking about how Austin would sound singing that song. Now that I think about it, Austin kind of looks like the main singer, Ross Lynch. Probably just another coincidence.
A couple songs later I pulled into a parking space and parked my car. I got out and locked my car and sauntered into the hospital.
I checked in with the receptionist and rolled my eyes at the group of Austies standing in a corner. I looked closely and noticed Brooke and Christine (if you don't remember Christine she's another Austin obsessed girl and she and Brooke are BFFS) standing there.
'Of course they would be there'
I thought to myself. I tried to cover my face before they could spot me. I was just about to open the elevator doors when I heard someone call me.
"Ally!"
Brooke and Christine yelled simultaneously. Rolling my eyes, I begrudgingly trotted back over to the group of Austies.
"Hi guys", I said forcing a smile onto my face. "What's up?" I asked, not caring at all.
"Oh nothing much, anyways we heard Austin is leaving today? Any chance you might be able to tell us his room number?" Christine asked eagerly.
l forced back the urge to roll my eyes at the girls and instead took a deep breath and looked back at them.
"No he's not getting out today", I lied.
"Maybe come back on Friday? That when he gets out ." I lied again
"Ok thanks Ally!" Brooke replied, way too enthusiastic.
"Uh huh, we'll bye girls!" I replied.
I turned around and walked back to the elevator rolling my eyes immediately. I could hear them whispering and probably rolling their eyes at me.
A couple minutes later I was once again struggling to find Austin's room. After awkwardly asking for help from the nurses I was able to locate it.
I was just about to enter the room when I heard voices. I knew I probably shouldn't but something inside me made me listen to the conversation from inside.
"Austin cmon, don't be such a baby about it." I heard Rocky tell Austin.
"I'm not a baby!" Austin shot back.
"Your a year younger than me, your basically a baby. Also your 17, I'm 18. I'm an adult your a kid."
Austin huffed at Rocky and now I took the chance to enter the room, their conversation never leaving my thoughts though.
"Hey guys!" I yelled cheerily. "Ready to go?" I asked enthusiastically.
"Sure, let me call the nurses so we can get him outta here." Rocky replied motioning towards Austin. I nodded and Rocky left the room leaving me with Austin.
It was silent for a moment before I walked over to Austin and pulled out a chair.
"I saw a group of Austies earlier, Brooke and Christine were there." I mentioned.
He laid back and closed his eyes heaving a huge groan. I snickered lightly and he glared at me.
"It's not funny!" He yelled while crossing his arms.
I laughed looking at his childish pout, "Uh yeah it is."
I replied still snickering lightly. He glared at me for a few more minutes till Rocky came back with a nurse. He grabbed Austin's bags and silently handed them to me.
I grabbed the bags from Rocky and watched as he helped the nurses place Austin in the wheelchair. A minute later Austin was successfully sat in the wheelchair and we all exited the room.
The nurse handed the wheelchair over to Rocky and he followed me while pushing Austin to the elevator.
"You ready to go home Aus?" Rocky questioned.
"Heck ya! I'm sick of this place." Austin replied dramatically.
I laughed at the two and pressed the first floor button as we all piled into the elevator.
The elevator ride was anything but quiet as the two boys started singing to old rock n roll songs.
I didn't know or understand half the lyrics they were singing but I still smiled at the two boys getting along.
I must have been smiling too long because they stoooed singing and just stared at me. I must have zoned out because I didn't even notice as Rocky waved his hand in front of me.
"Earth to Ally, I repeat earth to Ally."
"I don't have a crush on Ross!" I shout, not entirely thinking about my answer.
Rocky stared at me amusedly and Austin just gaped at me. I cringed now that my words have sunken in.
Rocky continued to smirk at me and Austin had an 'o' permanently marked on his face. I could feel the heat on my cheeks so I buried my face in my hands.
When I finally emerged from my hands Austin jaw had gone back into place and Rocky stopped smirking but he still had an amused look on his face.
We all awkwardly stared at each other before Rocky broke the silence.
"So who's Ross? Ya know the guy you totally don't have a crush on. Is he cute?" He asked, pretending to twirl his hair.
I rolled my eyes at Rocky before continuing.
"He's none of your business. And I don't have a crush on him!" I lied.
"But yes he's cute." I mumbled the last part.
"What was that?" He asked grinning.
"Ugh fine! I said he's cute okay?" I asked twirling my hair, mocking him.
Rocky gave me an 'I told you so' look before pretending to do a hair flip.
I rolled my eyes before lightly punching him in the arm. Rocky continued to make faces at me when I noticed Austin was extra quiet.
I crouched down to his level, not requiring much crouching due to my short height.
"Austin are you okay?" I asked concernedly.
His head snapped up from thought when he realized I was talking to him.
"Huh? What yeah I'm fine." He replied, although I noticed he was nervous at the end.
I shrugged of his nervous, he was probably just worried about going back to school or whatever.
Once we got out of the elevator I hastily threw my hoodie over Austin's face to hide him from the group of Austies still remaining.
We hurriedly checked Austin out and raced to the parking lot as the Austies noticed their idol wheeling past them.
We quickly buckled Austin into his seat and handed the wheelchair back to the nurse. I thanked her and threw her and apologetic smile as Rocky hastily drove away.
The car ride was full of interesting conversation and before I knew it were back at Austin's house. I hopped out the car and opened the trunk, retrieving Austin's wheelchair.
I placed towards Austin's car door and Rocky lifted him into the seat. We walked along the small path to the front door and Rocky pulled out his keys to unlock the front door.
Once the door was unlocked I pushed Austin inside nearly having a heart attack as the lights turned on and all our friends and family jumped out.
"SUPRISE!!!" Everyone shouted.
"AHHH!!!" I jumped as Austin let out his famous high pitched scream.
We all just stared at him for a moment before bursting out laughing. He glared at us for a moment before crossing his arms and pouting.
"Its not funny! You scared me!" He shouted. We all just laughed at him again and I wheeled him over to couch and Rocky picked him up and sat him down on the couch.
After a little while Austin stopped pouting and we all laughed and ate food and celebrated him being home, and we had a great time.
If I only I knew what was going to happen, you know what they say, it's always the calm before the storm.
Finally finished the chapter!! It's over 1 in the morning and I'm exhausted so I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll try to get the next one out sooner. Thanks for reading!
