Author's Note:

I decided to update this story. Keep in mind that this isn't a comeback quite yet. Just a slight flicker of hope.

Anyways I hope you all enjoy it!

Without hesitation, he stood up and made his way around the table to my side, as I sat there quietly sobbing.

He kneeled in front of me taking my hand in his, as I wiped my face with the other hand before looking up at him.

"I'm sorry, love." He whispered to me.

I shook my head, "You left me." I whimpered, "You made me believe that you were different, and you did what everyone else did. You hurt me, and abandoned me for almost eight months. Do you have any idea what I felt?" I asked him calmly.

He shook his head at me, as he slowly stood up and slowly reached over to pull the chair over to him, before sitting down, without letting go of the hand he was holding. "I know, and I can't erase the past or change it, but I'm here because I want to prove to you that even while I was stuck in D.C. that there wasn't one moment, not one day went by without you in my thoughts. I missed you like crazy. I worried about you to the point that Jasper and Alice offered to make those trips here, along with Emmett and Rose. I didn't send them. They came because they were worried too," He told me.

I blinked, before shaking my head, "How do I know you won't just disappear again?" I asked him, as I felt a particularly hard kick to my ribs, wincing.

"I wanted to quit my job the moment that case closed. I would have if your uncle hadn't refused my resignation. He had me relocate to the closest field office to Clearwilde. I'm staying here. With you." He informed me.

I frowned and shook my head as I felt more tears fall from my face. "No one's - No one's ever done that… for me," I whispered.

He gave me an unfathomable look as he squeezed my hand, "Bella, you're worth the effort. You deserve to live happily, in peace… and I understand that I fucked up, I do. But don't- don't tell me to leave you alone. I can't." He whispered, looking down.

We sat in silence for a while, food getting cold, until Angela appeared at the doors of the patio,

"Bella, Marnie went into labor, and she's been taken to the hospital." She informed me.

I frowned, "When?" I asked her, as I moved to get up.

"Her blood pressure kept going up, and her head was hurting when it happened." She informed me.

The frown on my face deepened as I got to my feet. "Preeclampsia. How long ago?" I asked her as I pulled out a twenty and set it on the table.

"Twenty minutes. She was prepped immediately, and taken into surgery. We're waiting on word of her state." She informed me.

I nodded, "Okay, keep me informed, I think I need to head home. I'm exhausted." I told her.

She nodded immediately, "Yeah, go on. I'll sign you out." She said as she turned and headed back to the clinic.

I waited for her to leave before, moving to follow her. "Bring me my bag please!" I called as Edward paid Jess for our food and placed the uneaten food in the styrofoam boxes.

Once Angela brought my bag out, I silently made my way to my baby, and pulled myself inside, before driving home, knowing Edward was going to follow me back.

After talking a little bit more, I told him I would think about it what he told me, before heading to the guest room I had been staying in since I didn't want to go up the stairs.

Over the next week, I thought about what he said, even told Aunt Di about it to hoping she could help me, but she only smiled and told me that I was going to have to decide whether or not to allow myself to be happy. I was the only one who could decide if I wanted to be with Edward or not.

After thinking it over, I decided that I should give him one last opportunity. Taking it slow, despite my heavily pregnant state.

He eventually moved in with me, to help me rearrange the furniture the way I wanted.

We spent nights talking and getting to know each other once again before we kissed.

I was on my way home after a particularly long labor and delivery. Both the mother and baby girl were perfectly healthy.

I had been on my feet for almost fifteen hours, and they were aching so bad that I took off my sneakers and pulled on the crocs Angela had given me a few months ago, before driving home.

It was sometime after three in the morning as I drove back into town, my side had been aching all day long, and now my lower back was hurting a lot.

I had been timing myself, after I realized that it was possibly labor, but forgot to call Edward as I drove home.

He was waiting for me in front of the house, looking concerned as I slowly pulled in, I took a deep calming breath as I felt my lower back spasm painfully as I shut off my baby.

"Hey, are you alright?" He asked me.

I inhaled sharply when I felt my kegal muscles spasm a second later, wincing in pain.

"What's wrong?" He asked as he opened the door.

"I- I think she's coming." I gasped, leaning my head back, as another pain hit.

"O-okay. Let me help you inside, and I'll call Marcus and Didyme." He said as I groaned. "My aunt knows how to help. Get me- get me inside first, I think I'm close." I whimpered.

He nodded before effortlessly picking me up and rushing me inside.

"Room. My room. Take me to my room." I commanded, breathlessly.

He immediately took me to the room, before gently lowering me onto the bed. I proceeded to kick off my shoes, before slowly lifting my hips, and shoving my pants and underwear down my thighs and legs.

"Boil water." I gasped, as he grabbed a blanket and placed it on my lap.

"Are you going to be okay?" He asked me before leaving.

"Yes. Crush some ice, bring it to me." I added as I laid back, and took a deep breath.

He disappeared for a few minutes, I kept myself calm and did everything I knew I had to do, as the pains came and went.

I managed to pull off my scrub shirt and pull on a cotton shirt before Edward appeared with my Aunt Didi.

"Bells," She says as she rushes to my side. "Are you sure it's time? Aren't you due in a few days?" She asked me.

I nodded, "Yeah. I thought I was getting back spasms from standing all day but that fucking lightning crotch is no fucking joke, and neither is the fucking fact that I think my water broke as you walked into thee room." I breathed.

She nodded, "Did you boil the water?" She asked Edward.

He nodded, "It's almost ready." he told her.

She nodded, "Go wash your hands, I'm going to need you here with me." She told me as she moved to the foot of the bed, and lifted the blanket.

She checked how far I was dilated, "You're almost fully dilated, sweetheart. How long have the back spasms been occurring?" She asked me.

I sighed and looked over at Edward, "Since I woke up this morning." I told them.

Edward sighed, "She told me she was feeling tired, earlier too. She said that she'd be home after six but was one and she hadn't arrived." He told her.

"Roxanne had complications." I groaned as I felt a strong contraction hit.

My aunt nodded before looking at Edward, "Go get the water and a clean face towel." She ordered, before turning to look at me, "You knew this was labor and you didn't come home or call. That was irresponsible. But we'll save that talk for another day. You are almost fully dilated, it is probably best for you to plant your feet on the mattress, and push on the next contraction you feel." She told me.

I nodded, as I took another breath and groaned as I felt the next contraction.

Edward walked in, and set the large bowl of steaming hot water on the nightstand before dipping the towel in the water, and wringing it before my aunt made her way into the bathroom and washed her hands, "Give me the towel, and go to where I was sitting." She told him as she moved onto the bed, and slowly helped me sit up slightly.

"Push." She commanded as Edward positioned himself.

It felt like hours as I lay there pushing.

Tears fell down my eyes as I felt another contraction, and pushed, feeling exhausted. The contracts blend at the point.

"One more, Bella. Come on, baby, I can see her crowning. Push with all your might." Edward coaxed.

I took a long breath before I braced myself, and pushed with all my might.

When the silence was pierced by a sharp cry, I laid back, feeling completely exhausted, and breathless.

"She's beautiful," Edward said as he used a shoelace to tie the umbilical cord.

"My bag. I have the utensils in my bag. The back of my van has a sterile set." I told my aunt.

She nodded before immediately disappearing from the room.

Once Edward cut the cord, my aunt helped me deliver the placenta. She laid the baby on my chest and helped me clean myself up.

"I'll go call Dr. Stevens so he can come and check on both of you." She told me before disappearing out of the room.

I nodded, unable to keep the smile on my face as Edward slowly sat down next to me. "She's beautiful, thank you, love." He told me.

I nodded again, before looking at our daughter, smiling at the small curls that were matted onto her head as she sucked on her fist.

Comfortable silence settling between us, as we sat there looking at her.
