Saiyans on the Grandline
Whitebeard's gaze was locked onto Laen, the fusion of Ace's brother Luffy, and his newest crewmate Kaen. With their bodies fused into one, Laen looked like a warrior with the perfect balance of lean and muscular.
"So, half of you is Ace's brother huh?" Whitebeard questioned.
"That's right." Laen stated.
Whitebeard looked at Laen, his eyes glued to the hat sitting on his head.
"Hey squirt, that straw hat that you're wearing, it looks exactly like the one Red Haired Shanks used to have on him." Whitebeard stated.
"Hold on, how do you and Shanks know each other?" Laen asked, Luffy obviously being the dominant consciousness in this conversation. "You're right, it was his hat. He left it to me."
A memory of Ace showing a wanted poster came to Whitebeard's mind, as something clicked inside him.
"Luffy came here to rescue his big brother?" Whitebeard asked.
"That's right." Laen said.
"Do you have the slightest idea, who our forces are up against?" Whitebeard questioned, before raising his staff and slamming it down on the figure head of his ship. "Even with Kaen being half of who you are, a squirt like you is gonna get slaughtered, real easy."
Off in the distance, Iva and Luffy were looking in utter shock at the display going on in front of them between Whitebeard, and Laen. It was already shocking when they saw the pillar of light, and the fused warrior that came from the fusion technique, but now they could hardly believe that Laen was talking to an Emperor of the Sea, so arrogantly.
"Shut up!" Laen shouted. "You don't know, you don't even know me. I know what you're up to, yeah you wanna be the King, huh? First you gotta go through me, got it?"
The arrogance, and straight out disrespect that Laen showed to Whitebeard, caused the whole battlefield to freeze, and everyone was in total shock, as someone actually showed the gull, to stand up to Whitebeard, in such a way.
Whitebeard and Laen stared one another down, before the Emperor of the New World, raised his weapon in the air and spun it around, at high speeds over his head, creating gales of wind. This intimidation tactic was wasted on Laen, as the fusion didn't even flinch, and just kept looking the Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, dead in the eye. Whitebeard slammed his weapon into the figure head of his ship again, causing the icy terrain to shake up once more, before the old man smirked in amusement.
"What a cheeky little punk." Whitebeard said, his smile ever present. "Don't come crying to me, if you get a few boo-boos spoiled brat."
"Yeah right, I'm not all old like you. I'm gonna be the one to rescue Ace and Mina."
"He's competing…" Iva said in complete shock and terror.
"With Whitebeard." Buggy gasped.
"We're done for." Mr.3 stated, as he and all the other Impel Down escapees were in a state of disbelief.
"You just sit tight Ace, Mina." Laen stated. "I'm coming for ya. You're not gonna die today."
'So, that young punk Kaen fused with is Straw Hat huh? He's just like his brother.' Whitebeard thought.
"Hey Pops." Laen said, getting Whitebeard's attention. "There's something Luffy heard on the Marine Vessel he came in on, I think you should know."
"What would that be?" Whitebeard inquired.
"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, has tossed the schedule out the window. They're moving ahead of the plan, for an immediate execution." Laen explained.
"They're throwing out the schedule, for an immediate execution! Are you positive that's what Straw Hat heard them say?" Whitebeard questioned.
"Yeah, they said they gotta get all set for something first though. But I don't know what for, because they were using codes." Laen added, noticing the increasingly angered look on Whitebeard's face. "I think you wanna rescue Ace and Mina, as bad as me. An' that's why I'm telling ya."
"Well alright. I suppose it's lucky I ran into Straw Hat then." Whitebeard stated. "Thanks kiddo."
"Sure thing, no big deal." Laen stated.
"Now he's talking like they're equals? That fusion boy has got some serious balls." Buggy said, he and Iva in complete and utter disbelief at how casual Laen was speaking with Whitebeard.
"Right." Laen said, rotating his shoulders, before taking in a deep breath. "Hang on Ace, Mina, I'm on my way." He cried out, before running forward.
Leaping from the figure head of the Moby Dick, Laen leapt into the air, flying over the battlefield, and heading straight for the scaffolding.
"An' there they go." Buggy said, he and Iva following Laen with their eyes.
"Not so fast, you freak." One of the giants called out, smacking Laen down with the flat side of her sword, causing him to crash land on the ice. "You're not going anywhere."
"Out of my way!" Laen declared, getting to his feet before jumping back, evading the giant sword. Taking to the air, Laen threw both his arms back, and they stretched like rubber. "Gum-Gum: BAZOOKA!"
Throwing his arms forward, Laen slammed his palms into the giant woman's stomach, knocking her back, and down into the icy terrain.
"He can use Straw Hat's Devil Fruit powers as well?" Buggy questioned in shock.
"Well, half of him is Ace's brother alright." Juzo said. "Third Division let's get moving. Keep up with those two, and try to follow their lead."
Laen figured it'd be better if he just ran threw the battle field, giving the Navy a harder target to take down if he were mixed in with the crowd of fighters. Running along the ice, Raion was leading the charge, as numerous pirates were following his lead. Up ahead of him, another Division of the Whitebeard Pirates were charging in ahead of him.
"14th Division, let's clear a path." The commander of the Division stated.
"Yeah." Those following him cheered.
Up on the scaffolding, Mina was watching in pride, as Laen was leading the charge, while Garp and Sengoku were not looking pleased at all.
"Luffy." Garp sighed.
"Yeah, get 'em babe." Mina cheered.
"One rookie daredevil takes the lead, and suddenly they're acting like a whole new army?" Sengoku questioned. "Not that it matters, our strategy is air tight."
"Shows what you know about Saiyans, and their determination." Mina smirked.
Sengoku looked to her, before his eyes widened, when she broke through the cuffs on her wrists and ankles, revealing they'd been corroded by an acidic substance, before she jumped up, and hit him with a roundhouse kick to the face.
"That's for forcing my daughter to watch my execution." Mina declared.
Landing on her feet, Mina turned and evaded Garp as he tried to grab her, ducking under his grasp.
"Sorry, you took such good care of Eri, but I can't let you take me in again." Mina said, before hitting Garp in the nuts, causing him to fall flat on his face as she rolled out from under him. "Alright Ace, let's get going." She said, pulling him under her arm.
"Wait, you managed to break free? But how, I thought your Quirk wasn't working?" Ace questioned.
"I told you, Pregnancy messes with a Quirk, it doesn't erase it completely. It just shuts it down for uncertain periods of time. But since it started working again, I was able to break free." Mina stated. "Unfortunately, it looks like that was only long enough for me to break my cuffs. We're gonna have to get Kaen, or the fusion he's part of, to break your cuffs for you."
Jumping from the scaffolding, Mina flew through the air, before pushing herself forward, as she evaded a fist made of lava.
"You're not going anywhere you pirate scum." Akainu stated.
"Why do you hate pirates so much?" Mina questioned, putting Ace down. "Is it because one touched you funny as a child? If I had a doll, you could point to where he touched you for me, and we could work through your trauma together."
"You think yourself a laughing riot." Akainu growled.
"Hilarious actually." Mina smiled. "But seeing as I am a mother, the thought of that actually happening to my own children, does scare me quite a bit."
"You're not gonna have to worry about that for long, as I kill you both, right here and now." Akainu glared, pulling his fist back.
As Akainu threw his fist, Mina reached into her Duplication Void, and pulled out two of Kaen's shields, and used them to block the punch. The force of Akainu's strike pushed Mina back quite a bit, but she stood her ground, as she reached into her Duplication Voidagain, and pulled out three duplications, of the Katana Zoro got from the Zombie Samurai from Thriller Bark. She remembered what she'd been doing to gain this confidence, when the crew was still together as one unit.
~Flashback~
"So, you're wanting to learn my Three Sword Style huh?" Zoro questioned, looking at Mina, as they both stood in the crows nest training room.
"I am." Mina said. "I'm skilled enough with the One and Two Sword Styles, but I would like to be able to up my game, and learn your style of fighting, and maybe improve on it to make it my own."
"Seems reasonable enough." Zoro smiled. "First what you're gonna want to do, is strengthen your jaw muscles, then once you got enough to go on, we can begin the actual sword training."
~End Flashback~
"I was hoping to surprise Kaen with what I learned from Zoro." Mina said, putting the hilt of the third sword in her mouth, and clenched it tight in her teeth. "But I guess now's as good a time as any to show off, what I've learned."
Armed with both collapsed shields on her arms, and three swords on her person, Mina stood her ground against Akainu, determined to protect Ace, and her unborn child at all costs.
Down on the icy terrain bellow, Laen threw a punch at the Marines, crashing his fist into the ground, and causing it to crack while knocking over his enemies. Looking aside, Laen spotted the mast from the Navy Vessel that fell from the sky, floating in the water.
Throwing his arms forward at the floating driftwood, Laen wrapped them around the mast, like a rope around a pole, and pulled.
"Now Gum-Gum: Cobra-HAMMER!" Laen shouted, swinging the mast heavily, at the Marines, whacking them away like ants against a fly swatter.
As Laen pulled back his arms, he slammed the mast down on the icy terrain, causing a build up of ice particles and dust. Before the fusion could race forward, Laen's head shot up, and he was suddenly forced to jump back, mast still in his grasp, as he evaded a punch from the fist of the monstrosity Celeron had become.
"Oh right, I forgot about you." Laen said, throwing the mast down. "So this is what's become, of the mighty Akuma. Pathetic."
"Shut your mouth." Celeron growled, his voice deeper, and more monstrous. "You have no room to be judging me, when you did the same thing."
"This fusion, is temporary." Laen stated. "But what you've done to yourself, can only be undone by Eri's former Rewind Quirk."
"Then I'll just have to get it, from our sister." Celeron growled.
"You, won't be touching her. You're an abomination, and a disgrace to the Saiyan name and legacy." Laen said. "I actually feel sorry for you, to have stooped this low."
"SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH." Celeron shouted, charging at Laen.
Laen took a martial arts stance, throwing one fist back, while holding his other hand up to aim, before he threw it forward, as an icy mist began to surround him, with frost building up on his skin.
"Gum-Gum: Arctic Pistol!" Laen cried out, throwing his fist forward.
The attack struck Celeron as the monstrously large Saiyan came charging at him, barely phasing him as he broke through the building ice.
As Celeron continued to charge, a large shadow came out from behind Laen and he was shocked to see it was Whitebeard, and used his weapon to stop Celeron in his tracks.
"Get going. Leave this bastard to me, and my crew." Whitebeard stated.
"Right." Laen smirked, before he slammed his fist down. Pressing down, the skin on Laen's arm bulged as the flow of blood stopped for a second, before the pace doubled, as it retracted back into his body, causing his skin take on a near salmon pink tint, with steam emitting from his pores. "Second Gear!" The fusion declared, before vanishing from sight.
Up near the scaffolding, Mina was doing her best to fight against Akainu, parrying and blocking his strikes. She could feel the heat coming from his fists, radiating through the air.
"Damn it, just leave me behind already." Ace said. "I'm not worth all this trouble."
"That's not happening." Mina said.
"Think about the future of your unborn child. Think about your family." Ace said.
"My husband, is part of Whitebeards crew." Mina stated, blocking a strike from Akainu with the shields on her forearms. "Whitebeards crew is his family, we're family. So I am thinking about my family, by protecting you."
"You're nothing but pirate scum." Akainu stated. "The delusions of Whitebeards crew being a family, is nothing but a farce."
"That's what you believe, but that isn't true." Mina said. "I know, what the World Government does to nations that don't fall under their rule. They enslave the people, after committing a hostile takeover. What part of that, is justice?"
"The part, where we make the rules, and bring peace and order to the world. Even if it's under the rule of an iron fist." Akainu said.
"That's not justice, or peace." Mina glared. "That's pure, unadulterated Tyranny."
Akainu glared at Mina, before he grit his teeth and, increasing the Magma output in his fist, he threw his punch at both Mina, and Ace, intent on incinerating them right there. His attack was blocked however, as a figure came zipping in, steam pouring from their body as they struck Akainu in the chest with a powerful blow, sending him sliding back, before he forced himself to stop, and looked up to see the fusion of Luffy, and Kaen standing defensively in front of both, who were meant for execution.
"Gum-Gum: Jet Bazooka!" Laen said calmly, as the steam cloud settled.
"It's you." Akainu said. "That, fusion of those two worthless pirates, who managed to create a successful mass escape from Impel Down."
"The name's Laen. Don't forget it." The fusion stated. "Now, hands off these two."
"They're not leaving here alive. True justice will be served this day." Akainu stated.
"You're starting to sound like a raving lunatic Kaen knows." Laen scoffed. "Fine then. I still have a bit of time before the time limit on this fusion runs out. I can spare a moment to play with you a bit."
(Cue Music… Fallen Angel: Brighter than a thousand suns)
"You little punk." Akainu growled, charging at Laen and enraged look on his face.
"Laen." Mina called, throwing a shield to him.
Laen caught the shield, and with second to spare, he extended it to its full length and blocked Akainu's strike, shocking the Admiral.
"Surprised?" Laen questioned. "This shield is made from an indestructible alloy, called Darmanium. It's not something that can be found, anywhere in the universe, other then the planet Kaen grew up on."
"You little rat." Akainu growled.
"Don't feel too, BAD!" Laen exclaimed, knocking the Admiral's fist away, before hitting him with a spinning roundhouse kick. "I might only be a half Saiyan, but that's still more then enough to kick your ass, and counteract your Devil Fruit powers."
"You seriously think, a punk ass brat like you has a chance of taking on an Admiral like me?" Akainu questioned.
"I don't think, I know." Laen stated.
Both opponents stared one another down, before they charged at one another. Laen ran straight for Akainu, steam continuing to pour from his body, as he hit the Admiral with a backhand strike, strengthened by his shield. Collapsing the defensive tool, Laen swung his arm down, slamming his fist on Akainu's head.
"How are you not burning, or even landing hits on me?" Akainu questioned, stepping back and plugging his nose as it bled.
"Didn't you hear Kaen earlier when he fought Kizaru and kicked his ass?" Laen questioned. "Ki, is the same as Haki, and can nullify a Devil Fruit users power. Which means, I can land blow after blow, without touching lava, or whatever the hell your body is made of."
Laen ran straight for Akainu, and hit him with another barrage of attacks. Mina watched in awe as Laen fought the Admiral, using both Kaen and Luffy's abilities, before she remembered something, and looked at the remaining shield on her arm.
"Ace, hold still." She said, causing the blades inside the shield to protrude.
"Mina, what are you doing?" Ace questioned in concern as she stepped up behind him.
"Doing something I feel like I could have done, the moment I had the chance to." Mina said, before swinging her arm, and the shield down on Ace's cuff, the blades of the rounded edge slicing through the Sea Prism Stone restraints.
"You did it." Ace smirked. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a fight to join."
Ace lit his body ablaze, as he looked at Akainu and Laen. Getting to his feet, Ace ran straight for the fight, and joined in on the battle, hitting Akainu with a powerful attack.
"Fire Fist!" Ace called out, throwing a punch.
"Arctic Pistol!" Laen cried out, both attacks hitting Akainu at the same time, causing an explosion of heat and cold to echo around the battle field.
"Flame Emperor!" Ace chanted, creating a giant ball of fire in the palm of his hand, as he raised it into the air.
(End Song…)
Laen jumped back, wanting to evade Ace's attack as it was gonna be strong enough to take out the entire battlefield. Twisting around, Laen grabbed Mina and began running back to the ship, only to stop, when his body lit up, and a line went down the middle of his face, before he split back into Kaen and Luffy, with Mina in her Captain's arms, before the three of them fall to the ground.
"What happened?" Luffy asked.
"Time must have ran out." Kaen said.
"Doesn't matter, we still got what we came for." Luffy stated.
"Ace and Mina's freedom yeah." Kaen said, helping Mina up. "You okay?"
"Now that you're here." Mina smiled, tears in her eyes. "I know we're married by Saiyan tradition, but what's say we actually get married with someone marrying us for real?"
"Sounds like a great idea." Kaen smiled. "Will you marry me?"
"I didn't mean now. I meant after this was all said and done." Mina gasped, before she twisted around, and hit a charging Marine with a roundhouse kick, and then a backhand strike with the shield in her hand. "Besides, I don't think now's the time."
"I don't think we'll ever have another chance." Kaen stated.
"Whitebeard." Mina shouted gaining his attention, as he easily fought off Celeron. "Marry us."
"I'm a little busy right now." Whitebeard shouted, swinging his weapon down on the icy terrain, and taking out several marines that charged at him.
Kaen twisted around and threw a marine officer down with a shoulder throw, before kicking the man like a soccer ball and knocked him into several of his comrades.
"Marry us now!" Kaen exclaimed as they fought off Marines.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today…" Whitebeard shouted, causing the air and ground to tremble with his power as he spoke, while jumping up to the main plaza. "To bind these two souls in the bonds of holy matrimony."
"Mina Ashido, do you take me to have and to hold, in sickness and in health till death do us part?" Kaen asked as they punched and kicked a Vice Admiral in perfect unity and acrobatic style.
"I do." Mina stated before they had to move again to dodge a swing from a skilled swordsman, and sent the man flying with a double hit Ki blast. "Kaen Yagi, do you take me to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, till death do us part?"
"I do." Kaen stated as they ducked down, evading a stray attack coming from Akainu.
"By the power invested in me, as the Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss…" Whitebeard had to stop to fight off Celeron, as he kicked him away. "You may now kiss…" He had to stop again dodging several Ki blast that Celeron had sent his way. "Just kiss." He shouted before continuing his battle, and swinging his blade down at Celeron.
Kaen and Mina kissed as if they were not in the middle of fighting a war with the World Government, before they separated and ducked down, as Luffy sent a Marine flying over them.
"Hey, watch it Luffy." Kaen called to him.
"Oops, my bad." Luffy called out.
"C'mon, we're home free now." Kaen said. "Go, I'll hold off Akainu, you three head for the Moby Dick."
"Not gonna hear any arguments from me." Ace said.
Kaen and Ace switched places, as the Saiyan charged at Akainu, and the Pirate made his way to Mina, and Luffy. All three of them began making their way through the battlefield. As they reached the edge, Kaen suddenly came flying past them, as if hit by something hard, and strong. They turned back, and saw Akainu racing towards them, his fist pulled back with a determined glare in his eye. His first target was Luffy, as he was the one lagging behind the others.
"NO!" Kaen shouted, sitting up from where he landed.
Forcing himself to his feet, Kaen was too slow to save Luffy, as someone else took the hit for the young Pirate Captain, causing Luffy and Kaen's eyes to widen in horror.
"ACE!" Luffy shouted, as Ace stood in front of Luffy, his back to Akainu, as the Admiral's fist pierced Ace's body, running him through with smoke pouring from the wound, as the flesh inside was instantly cauterized from the lava.
"No." Kaen growled, as Ace's prayer beads scattered along the ground. "After everything we did, after all we sacrificed."
Akainu tsked, as he pulled his fist back, allowing for Ace to fall forward, into Luffy's arms.
"It would seem you're still alive, if only barely." Akainu stated, as Ace was gasping for breath. "I'll have to rectify that." He said, pulling his fist back, turning it into Lava again.
"Don't do it." Luffy said, before he spoke louder. "DON'T DO IT."
Whitebeards attention was drawn from Celeron, to Ace, his eyes widening in horror.
"ACE." Whitebeard shouted.
Pulling his fist back to use his power, Whitebeard was stopped when a thin stream of light, shot through his arm.
"My, my." Kizaru said, Celeron marching past him. "You're getting forgetful in your old age. Akainu's not the only Admiral here. An' you're not moving an inch, Grandpa."
"Kizaru, you bastard." Kaen growled, getting to his feet, before he fell to his knees, coughing up blood.
Mina looked to Kaen and gasped, when she saw the hole that was through the center of his chest. She couldn't understand how he was still moving, with that hole running through him.
"Kaen, hang in there." Mina said, crouching down to kneel next to him.
"Mina… get to the Moby Dick, now." Kaen wheezed.
"Kaen I'm not gonna leave you." Mina said.
"Aw, how sweet." Kizaru said, his voice reaching their ears as if he were right beside them. "Too bad you're all, gonna die here."
The atmosphere around Kaen went silent after those words, as he was looking at Mina in worried horror, before the sight of her, was replaced by the sight of Kizaru's leg, made entirely of light. Kaen continued to stare forward, as blood splattered across his face, his body trembling in disbelief, as the words failed to leave him.
"Such a shame really." Kizaru said, removing his foot directly in Kaen's line of sight, showing the blood and brain chunks staining his pants. "This was my favorite suit."
Kaen trembled in horror, the fatigue and the anger from all he's been through since Impel Down, racing through his body. Slowly, his head tilted down to the ground bellow, vision landing on Mina, and what was her crushed skull, with blood pooling around her body, and at his knees.
"Don't feel too sad kid." Kizaru said, a smirk on his face. "I'm gonna reunite you, real soon."
Kaen's eyes were covered in shadow, as something within him snapped. Kizaru raised his leg again, the limb shining brightly in particles of light. The moment he sent it at Kaen, the Saiyan teen reacted faster, then what his body in its current state should have allowed, and caught the foot. Kizaru tried pulling his leg back, but was unable to as Kaen kept a firm grip on it, and would not let it go.
"What the?" Kizaru questioned.
Kaen growled, as he gripped Kizaru's leg tighter, and tighter, before he bent it in a direction it wasn't supposed to go, causing the Admiral to cry out in pain as his ankle was severely broken.
"You little shit." Kizaru cursed.
Kaen was breathing heavily, his vision blurred with tears in his eyes, and anger coursing through him, making the Saiyan see nothing but red. Getting to his feet, Kaen grit his teeth, and clenched his fists, letting out a battle cry of rage and pain, as the ground began to shake.
The battle zone was frozen in fear, as they all felt the trembling of the ground, and the ice as it began to crack and sway with the churning waves of the water bellow it.
"Whitebeard. Stop this at once." Sengoku cried out.
"This isn't Whitebeards doing." Garp said, looking over the edge, his eyes glued on Kaen.
"You… Monster." Kaen hissed, his voice filled with pain. "You, heartless bastard. That was my wife, she was pregnant, and she had nothing, to do with what I did when I killed those inbred assholes that call themselves, Celestial Dragons, at the slave auction in Sabaody."
Kizaru glared at Kaen, before his eyes widened at what he saw. The sky had gone dark, as thunder clouds rolled in, crackling with thunder and lightning. Debri everywhere was defying gravity, as Kaen's rage was evident on his tear stained face. In his rage, his hair kept changing from black with a red stripe to golden with a blue stripe.
"I will make you PAY!" Kaen shouted, a burst of power coming from him as a final flash of light emanated from him, blinding those in the immediate area.
When the light died down, Kizaru was gone, with Kaen nowhere to be seen, before the Admiral came falling from the sky at high speed, before impacting with the ground, hard. Those who witnessed this looked up, and gasped when they saw Kaen, flying in the air. His hair was golden with a blue skunk stripe on the side. His body was bigger, bulkier, and his eyes were vacant, pure white as his teeth were grit in pure rage, while the aura around him was a pure emerald green.
"No, this cannot be." Celeron stated. "He cannot be the one. He cannot."
"The one what?" Akainu questioned, as he was right in the middle of fighting Jinbe.
"The Legendary Super Saiyan." Celeron stated. "He is not the Saiyan of Legend. I am. Me. I AM STRONGER, I AM. I'M THE…"
Celeron was shut up, when Kaen came flying down and slammed his face into the ground, creating a shockwave that caused the stone to ripple like water. Instantly back up on his feet, Kaen looked to Akainu and was in his face, hitting the Admiral with a devastating strike to the face, and neck.
Before Akainu could hit the ground, Kaen grabbed him by his throat, and flew straight into the air, high as the clouds.
"The hell? How is he suddenly so powerful?" Sengoku questioned.
"Kizaru." Garp said. "Kizaru unleashed an unstoppable monster when he killed Mina Ashido and her unborn child. An' we would have done the same, if we'd gone with the actual execution."
"So you're saying, that heartless Saiyan actually cared about her?" Sengoku asked.
"Did you forget what Eri said about him?" Garp asked. "He grew up on a world filled with heroes. He was different from the Saiyans we had fought nearly twenty years ago."
"The ramblings of a…"
Sengoku stopped, as Akainu came falling from the sky, and suddenly crashed into the scaffolding. The Admiral smashed through the layers of wood and steel, before hitting the ground underneath.
"Akainu?" Sengoku questioned.
"Kame…"
The war that had been frozen, was still deathly quiet, as they looked up into the sky, hearing Kaen's voice, and their eyes widened when they saw a light shining brightly from his hands.
"Hame…" He continued to chant as the light grew brighter.
"No, don't tell me." Garp gasped.
"Luffy." Jinbe cried out, racing to the Straw Hat Captain and grabbing him, before making a run for it.
"Oh no… you don't." Akainu grunted in pain, as he somehow got back on his feet.
Using his power, Akainu sent himself flying towards the fleeing pirates, and came up right behind them, before he thrust his fist forward, piercing them with a stream of lava.
"GAAHH!" Jinbe cried out.
"HAAAAA!" Kaen finished, as he released the attack.
The Kamehameha Wave he unleashed, was so powerful, so big it illuminated the darkened sky, just before it created an explosion as it made contact with the center of Marineford. The explosion rocked the island, as all buildings were destroyed, and smoke rose from the ashes. Kaen fell from the sky, and landed in the center of ashen island. The shockwaves of the explosion, caused for the frozen walls to crumble, as the outskirts of the city remained, with hardly any casualties caused by it. Kaen stood in the center of the former city, before he let out an enraged battle cry, with a flaming aura surrounding him.
"This isn't good." Whitebeard said, looking in complete shock at what Kaen was actually capable of, when pushed past his breaking point.
"Pardon me good sir."
Whitebeard turned to who had spoken, surprised that someone was able to sneak up on him like that, before his eyes widened when he saw a black haired, tan skinned young woman, wearing a unitard, under a pair of pants, with a short sleeved crop top jacket, and a gold and black staff, with a crystal ball inside a ring on the top part of the staff. Autonomously floating above her head, was what looked like a blue crystalline halo. Breast size, H-Cup.
"Seems you fools really have gone and done it now. You've endangered the entire universe." She sighed in annoyance.
"I know you." Whitebeard said, recognizing the woman.
"Been a long time Edward." She smiled, looking at him.
"Silfie."
"Glad to see you still remember me." Silfie said. "But right now, there's an even more pressing matter to tend with, then catching up."
"Agreed." Whitebeard said.
"What exactly happened to cause this Saiyan to lose control like this?" Silfie asked.
"Admiral Kizaru killed his wife, and unborn child." Whitebeard stated.
"That bastard." Silfie tsked. "I'll take him away from here, before he kills anyone."
"Please do." Whitebeard said. "I doubt he'd be able to tell the difference between friend or foe at this point."
"My brother told me, he was a strong warrior. But I didn't think he was the Legendary Super Saiyan. Yamoshi is gonna quite happy." Silfie smiled.
"I am."
From out of nowhere, falling through the sky, came what looked like a young man as he landed on the ground in a hero landing. The young man was clad in a red jacket, with a black shirt, and armor clad pants with what looked like steel toed combat boots. His hair was a brilliant fiery red, as was the fur on his tail. His physique was close to that of what Whitebeard assumed was All Might's height, from what Kaen told him of the hero, and his muscle mass was nothing to sneeze at.
"Yamoshi." Whitebeard said. "You've certainly grown haven't you?"
"Training every day, will do that." Yamoshi said, removing his jacket, revealing it covered the Saiyans armor clad shoulders and arms, before folding it over one arm. "But I didn't expect to nearly reach your size and stature. The atmosphere of this planet really is incredible."
"So, think you could do something about him?" Whitebeard asked.
"I don't know." Yamoshi said, before noticing something at his feet. "Silfie, why don't you go entertain the kid for a while?"
"With pleasure." Silfie smiled, making her staff vanish, as she stepped up to fight Kaen, in his enraged form.
"What are you planning Yamoshi?" Whitebeard asked.
"Silfie's a fallen angel. She used to go by Jen, but when she fell, after trying so hard to become her fathers successor as the Grand Priest, she quickly changed her name to Silfie."
"How is all this relevant?" Whitebeard asked.
"The Grand Priest, is the personal attendant to a being, powerful enough to destroy our universe, without even exerting any effort." Yamoshi said, crouching down to pick up a hat, next to a shredded bag. "Which means…"
As Silfie came into Kaen's line of sight, she smirked as the Saiyan charged at her, before she quickly vanished, then reappeared next to him, her fist buried in his stomach.
"…she's the strongest, out of all her siblings, despite being one of the younger ones." Yamoshi said, heading for Silfie, as she held the now unconscious Kaen over her shoulder, his hair back to black and red. "Take care old man."
"Just hold on a second." Whitebeard said. "You're not gonna stay and help?"
"Not my war. I only came, because Silfie's brother Whis, asked her to look after this punk." Yamoshi said, putting a hand on Silfie's other shoulder as she summoned her staff. "See ya."
With that, they vanished. Whitebeard just grit his teeth, no one aware or even paying attention to Mina's lifeless body, before her fingers twitched, and her skin began to melt.
~Elsewhere~
Yamoshi sat in his chair, reading a paper delivered by a News Coo. It had been a week since the War had actually happened at Marineford, and Kaen was still out cold.
"Interesting." He said, sipping on his coffee. "They're still talking how the punk destroyed Marineford in a single shot."
"I wouldn't count on him displaying that sort of power any time soon." Silfie yawned, coming to his side, dressed in nothing but a T-Shirt. "He's burnt out. Between the damage he took in the Causality Loop, and the stress and damage he took in the war after coming back, his body's somehow reset itself. Sort of like how yours was when I first brought you back."
"But no deity energy huh?"
"Nope." Silfie said pouring her own mug of coffee. "Though his hair is a darker shade of red then yours now."
"Is that my T-Shirt?"
"Yep."
"Why are you… you didn't." Yamoshi sighed, as he figured what she had done.
"The kid woke up last night, and we had a little fun." Silfie smiled. "All night long."
"You took advantage of him, while he's in mourning?" Yamoshi asked.
"Hey, it's not my fault being a fallen angel means I have the same urges that need tending to, as other females of the mortal species." Silfie said. "Not like you'd bother to satisfy them anyway."
"You do know this makes you his second wife, right?" Yamoshi asked. "An' please tell me you didn't give him anything from one of your previous partners."
"I might be fallen, but I'm still an angel Yamoshi." Silfie said. "My body destroys any and all STD's that come in contact with it. As for the wife thing, I don't think it'd be so bad, Saiyan males often have more then one mate, do they not?"
"Please at least tell me, you didn't reopen his wounds." Yamoshi sighed.
"No, just gave him a few new ones on his back." Silfie said, sticking out her tongue playfully.
"You are wicked." Yamoshi sighed, putting his paper down. "I'm gonna go see how he's doing."
"He's not into guys." Silfie said.
"Not what I had in mind." Yamoshi stated. "An' clean my shirt before you put it back."
In the bedroom, Kaen was sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed in pants, with bandages wrapped around his entire torso, with a few bandages on his cheeks. He was surprised when he looked in the mirror to see all of his hair was crimson red instead of just a stripe, but he wasn't even surprised, when Yamoshi came into the room.
"Wow, Silfie was not joking when she said you'd gone full redhead. How you holding up?" Yamoshi asked.
"I'd say fine, but we both know that'd be a lie." Kaen scoffed.
"So, no questions for the living legend of your ancestors?"
"A couple, but they don't have anything to do with the battles you fought on Sadala." Kaen said.
Yamoshi sighed, knowing that was fair for Kaen to say.
"Is the war over? On Marineford, I mean." Kaen said.
"Yeah, yeah the war is over." Yamoshi said. "Emperor of the Sea Red Haired Shanks, came in and put a stop to it. Even took on a new crewmate before he left."
"What about Pops?"
"Whitebeard… he didn't make it." Yamoshi stated. "He died in battle, and his former crewmate, Marshall D. Teach made an appearance with several Impel Down Escapees, including the former warden who'd been locked up for murdering countless inmates."
"What's Teach's significance in Pops death?"
"He stole Whitebeards power, and now wields two Devil Fruit abilities." Yamoshi said. "You gonna be okay?"
"I just… need some time to… Eri." Kaen said in realization.
"Don't worry, she's fine." Yamoshi said. "After we patched you up, Silfie went and took Eri to one of your crewmates. I believe he's the Straw Hats Doctor."
"Chopper? Why take her to him though."
"Eri's got a real gift for that kind of work." Yamoshi said. "But we didn't force her to go. She chose to be taken to Chopper on her own, after she said her goodbyes to you."
"I see." Kaen sighed. "Guess she doesn't wanna be around a monster like me huh."
"No, you wouldn't believe how hard it was for her to leave you behind." Yamoshi said. "That kid of yours is strong, a true Saiyan if I've ever seen one."
"Deciding to leave me, right after she loses her mother?" Kaen asked.
"She didn't leave, because she was scared of you." Yamoshi stated. "She left because she wanted to get stronger, for you. She felt helpless not being able to do anything to save her mother, and with her new Devil Fruit abilities…"
"Wait, hold up. New Devil Fruit abilities?" Kaen asked, getting to his feet, and looking up at him. "You mean to tell me, she ate one of those cursed fruits?"
"She did." Yamoshi sighed. "She ate an exceedingly rare Mythical Zoan Type Devil Fruit, called the Tora-Tora Fruit. With it, the possibilities of her abilities are endless. She'll need someone with another Zoan Type to train her, and who better to do that, then Chopper?"
"Guess that makes sense." Kaen said. "What about my brother?"
"He escaped, but he's weakened. He took on multiple Devil Fruit users, so his body is having a hard time containing all that power." Yamoshi said.
"Then I guess that'll make it easier to hunt and track him down." Kaen said, moving past Yamoshi.
"Where are you going?" The Saiyan Legend questioned, following Kaen out of the room.
"To track down my brother, and put an end to all this once and for all." Kaen growled, as they passed the kitchen.
"You just got out, of a week long Coma. You're not hunting down a psycho killer, who could kill you, just by grabbing your face." Yamoshi said.
"That doesn't matter." Kaen stated. "I partially remember what happened to me after… her, death."
"Kid listen to me. What you did was unnatural." Yamoshi stated.
"How so?" Kaen asked.
"For one, there are now two Legendary Super Saiyans born this time around, rather then just one!" Yamoshi exclaimed, giving Kaen reason to pause.
"What do you mean?" The teen inquired, without turning to him.
"The first, Legendary Super Saiyan born is a young man named Broly. He's in his twenties at this moment." Yamoshi said. "Five years before Planet Vegeta was destroyed, King Vegeta, your predecessor, exiled him to a planetoid called Vampa, in fear that Broly may end up destroying the universe, because his power level at birth, was so abnormally high, it frightened him."
"How exactly would you know this?"
"Because I've kept tabs on the Saiyans until their demise." Yamoshi said. "Which means I know you took down King Vegeta in that fight, and you engraved the fear of God in Frieza's very soul with how badly you thrashed him."
"So what makes me so special I'm the second Legend born?" Kaen asked.
"That green aura you let off, it's only viable for the Legendary Super Saiyan. An' a Saiyan born with that kind of power, could easily overthrow Frieza, even the entire Frost Demon Empire if they really wanted to." Yamoshi explained. "But ever since that fight, you've been drained of your power."
"What do you mean drained?" Kaen asked.
"The Wukong Gem." Yamoshi stated, pointing at Kaen's chest. "With the injury you had, it should have killed you like how Rogers kid had died. But it didn't, because that gem embedded in your very core, kept you from dying. But as it took your power away, it would seem this was a second time it's had to do that. First time was a freebie."
"Why would the gem take my power away for a second time of keeping me alive?" Kaen asked.
"You ever hear of Alchemy kid?" Yamoshi asked.
"I dabbled with it back on Earth." Kaen stated.
"Well, that gem in your chest, is a Philosophers Stone. The freebie came at the cost to Sun Wukongs soul, which wasn't completely gone until you died the first time." Yamoshi said.
"But, it only brought me back partially." Kaen stated. "I was practically a walking corpse."
"Then whatever killed you, was more then Wukongs soul was worth, and it sustained you until you fully healed." Yamoshi said. "If you've dabbled with Alchemy before, then you should know, the gem requires an equivalent exchange."
"But I thought a Philosophers stone, negated that rule?" Kaen asked.
"Normally, it does. But the stone's attached to your core, linked to your soul." Yamoshi stated.
"What he means is, it needed your power, to keep you alive. Even the Philosophers stone, has its limitations." Silfie said. "An' because of that, you're no stronger then your Captain, Straw Hat Luffy at this current moment."
"But, it's not all bad." Yamoshi said, going to his coat hanger, and pulling something off it. "Your Saiyan power may be drained, but you've still achieved a technique that had been lost to our people, for several centuries of generations now. You've unlocked, the Golden Saiyan technique. An' with a little training, you could master, and control it at will no problem." He stated, walking up to Kaen, and putting what he'd grabbed from his coat rack, on the teens head. "Your wife loved you, so don't let her loss be in vein. Use the pain in your heart, to push you forward, and get even stronger."
Kaen just looked down at the ground, his eyes locked on a single spot, as he tried to keep himself from breaking down.
"Are you serious? You're telling me I need to just move on?" Kaen questioned.
"I know it'll be hard." Yamoshi said. "Let me show you something."
Yamoshi put his hand on Kaens shoulder, before he began leading the teen away, and to his living room, where on the fire mantle, sat two urns, with names engraved on them.
"Gol D. Roger, Portgas D. Rouge?" Kaen read. "Ace's parents?"
"That's right." Silfie said.
"Silfie and I were there you know, to help Rouge through her pregnancy. Silfie's power helped to numb the pain, but aside from stalling the birth every now and then, there wasn't much we could do, aside from keeping the Marine's attention off her from the shadows." Yamoshi explained. "It broke our hearts, when we saw her die with Ace still held tight in her arms."
"So why show me this? To remind me, I'm never gonna see the child Mina and I created?" Kaen asked.
"No." Yamoshi said. "I'm showing you this, because Roger said, we had arrived at the end of the Grandline, too early. Our generation, was never supposed to make it there, but through stubbornness and grit, we made it to the final island Laugh Tale. If you'd stuck around, you'd have heard Edwards final words, as he shouted to the world, that the One Piece, is real."
"It's Luffy's dream, to become King of the Pirates." Kaen said.
"An' what's your dream?" Yamoshi inquired.
Kaen was silent, before he let out a deep breath, and just turned away.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Kaen said.
"As you wish." Yamoshi said. "I got word from Rayleigh not too long ago, told me about you. An' I got the feeling you've experienced a couple things that seem out of the ordinary for you."
"I'm a Saiyan with multiple powers called Quirks, I'd say that's far from normal for our people." Kaen stated.
"Any of those Quirks involve knocking crowds of people out with waves of power?" Silfie inquired.
Kaen looked to Silfie, before looking to Yamoshi, who had a brow raised, wanting to know the answer to that questioned.
"No. Not that I'm aware of." Kaen said.
"Excellent." Yamoshi smiled. "Then, get dressed, and let's head outside. We've got work to do."
~Afterwards~
"So, where exactly are we?" Kaen asked.
"We, are on a private island that I own." Yamoshi said. "It's where I've been ever since Rouge's death."
"How have you not been discovered yet?" Kaen asked.
"You know how Shiki had the Float-Float Fruit powers, that allowed him to make a giant archipelago in the sky over the Grandline?" Yamoshi asked.
"Yeah?"
"I took a page from his book, and did the same, but I didn't have access to the power of the Float-Float Fruit, so I had to improvise." Yamoshi explained.
"How?"
"Basically, this island is being kept in the air via one giant anti-gravity generator, courtesy of one Frost Demon Empire, who we stole the generator from, right under their noses." Silfie said.
"Literally, King Cold was examining the finished product one moment, and the next it was gone." Yamoshi said. "I really should thank Hit properly, for teaching me that technique for freezing time."
"I think he made it pretty clear, he didn't wanna see either of us again." Silfie stated.
"So, why exactly are we out here?" Kaen asked.
"We're here to train." Yamoshi stated. "I'm gonna turn you, into one lean mean fighting Saiyan Machine, by the time you and your crew return to one another."
"Training? Seriously?" Kaen questioned. "What's the point in training when I failed, to protect, the woman, I, LOVE?" He asked, throwing his arm back, slamming it into a tree.
"Holy." Silfie gasped, eyes wide.
The only problem with that, was they were currently standing in a clearing, and the tree Kaen destroyed, was a hundred feet away from them. Kaen looked back at his arm, before his eyes went wide in complete and utter shock, as his arm was stretched out like rubber. Panicking a bit, Kaen freaked before his fist came flying back, and knocked him over with the momentum, and punching himself in the face.
"Ow." Kaen groaned, his arm wrapped around him like a rope, as he laid on the ground. "The hell's going on?"
"Did you… happen to use the Metamoran Fusion Technique with anyone with a Devil Fruit?" Yamoshi asked.
"I used it with my Captain Luffy. He ate the Gum-Gum Fruit when he was a kid, but what's that got to do with me and how I'm able to use his power?" Kaen questioned, unwrapping himself from his arm.
"Okay, how do I explain this?" Yamoshi questioned. "When someone eats a Devil Fruit, they gain an extraordinary power that could just come out of a fairy tale. But the source of that power, bonds with the persons soul, which is why the power reincarnates into a different yet same type of fruit when the previous user dies, while carrying a fragment of the users soul with it to the next user, thus transferring several aspects of the previous user to the next, like behavior, morals, and mentality."
"Sort of like how my Quirk works." Kaen pointed out. "My power is capable of being passed on from user to user, by ingesting the DNA of the previous user so long as it's willingly given. Usually it's like a strand of hair. But I'm not a piece of fruit, and Luffy I'm damn sure is still alive."
"That he is." Yamoshi said. "But you used the Metamoran Fusion Technique with him."
"So?"
"Wanna take it from here Silfie?" Yamoshi asked.
"Nah, I'm having too much fun watching you fumble." Silfie smiled.
"Alright listen." The Saiyan of Lore began with a groan. "When someone uses the Metamoran Fusion Technique, they fuse more then just their bodies into one. Both participants fuse their souls together, and since Luffy's soul had the Gum-Gum Fruit bonded with it, your soul, became bonded with that same power during the fusion. Thus resulting in you having manifested the same power, long after the fusion ended."
"That… kinda makes sense actually." Kaen said.
"Given how you've got a Devil Fruit ability now, your training's gonna have to change a bit." Yamoshi said. "An' I know just the island to do your training on."
"Again with this?" Kaen questioned, before sitting down with his back to Yamoshi. "I'm not training anymore. Mina's gone, and that makes me a sorry excuse for a Saiyan, and a hero."
Yamoshi just sighed, before he stepped up to Kaen, a strict look on his face.
"Look I get it alright, I…"
"No you don't." Kaen said. "You don't get it. I was raised by All Might, the greatest and strongest hero the Earth has ever known. I was supposed to protect Mina, keep her safe, and make her happy. But instead I threw that all away, because I let my pride take over, thinking I could save her, without anyone's help. I went to Impel Down on my own, not even bothering to bring backup, but that was all for nothing, as she's gone, and so is the child we made, that we created."
Yamoshi looked to Kaen, before he sighed in annoyance and crossed his arms.
"I do know, actually." Yamoshi said. "You're familiar with the stories of my power right? How I became a Super Saiyan God and died from it?"
"Yeah, and?"
"Which story do you believe in?" Yamoshi asked.
Kaen looked over his shoulder to Yamoshi, before he looked away, and slumped over.
"The story that depicts you as a hero." Kaen said. "You fought tyranny and died in the process, because your body couldn't handle that sort of power."
"Well, that story doesn't cover why I fought the tyrannical rule of the King in those days." Yamoshi said, taking a seat next to Kaen. "Like you, I was no older then maybe, fifteen of sixteen when I met and fell for my true love. An' believe it or not, she fell for me as well the same day, when I helped her escape a bad situation."
"What was the situation?" Kaen asked.
"She'd taken an apple from the food stall, and gave it to a hungry child. But since she was unaware of how the real world works, she didn't have any money, and was about to lose her hands. I saved her by getting the street vendor to think she was delusional, since she claimed to know the King. She played along, and acted like my pet dog was the King, bowed to him and everything."
Kaen looked to Yamoshi, seeing he was fiddling with a large blade of grass.
"Who was she?" Kaen asked.
"She, was the Princess." Yamoshi chuckled. "We'd sneak out in the middle of the night to see each other, because her father didn't approve of her daughter seeing a street rat as a potential spouse. But we were in love, despite his displeasure, and by Saiyan culture as you know, tied the knot one night."
Kaen could see, Yamoshi had a tear coming to his eye, as he retold the tale of his true love.
"After that, when the King found out she was pregnant, he had me brought in and tried for seducing his daughter, and was about to execute me, right there on the spot." Yamoshi stated. "However, my love wouldn't allow it, and she got in front of me, right before my death could come, and took the attack for me. That was the first time, I ever used the Super Saiyan technique."
Kaen was speechless as Yamoshi wiped away a tear, the memories of that day being a burden on his body.
"Back in those days, Super Saiyan was a technique considered to be available only to those of noble or royal birth, and was tied to those bloodlines. Never once was it considered a technique that could be learned or achieved through training." Yamoshi explained. "So the fact that a mere street rat was able to go Super, shocked them all enough for me to grab my loves body, and flee. I buried her, under the tree where we finalized out union, and I formed the rebellion. I taught those who joined how to go Super, and eventually we learned of the Super Saiyan God transformation, if five others put their power, their inner lights withing a sixth. An' I'm sure you know the rest."
"Yeah, you took on the power, fought against the King, then died because the power was too much for you to handle. After your death, the rebellion continued, but wasn't as powerful, and the war raged on, until Sadala's destruction." Kaen said.
"So, now you know. I do know the pain you're feeling, but I didn't let it hold me back." Yamoshi stated. "I still had something to fight for, and so do you."
Kaen's eyes were back on the ground, before he remembered his crew, their smiling faces flashing through his mind.
"Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Robin, Ussop, Chopper, Franky, Sanji, and Eri." Kaen said, tears in his eyes.
"Mina might be gone, but you still have someone worth fighting for." Yamoshi said. "An' I think I know, how to get the message across to the Marines, that we mean business."
~Marine Ford Ruins: 1Week Later~
"The damage is unreal." A news reporter said.
"What'd you expect? It was an all out war between the navy, the Worlds Greatest Pirate, and a Saiyan who destroyed the entire city, leaving only a few buildings standing." Another reporter stated. "It's a miracle that the island is still standing, isn't it? So what brings you out to this pile of rubble that was once Marineford?"
"A story of course." The reporter said. "I cam from Alabasta to cover Crocodile and Straw Hat. As well as that Saiyan that was fighting in the war. Though supposedly, Straw Hat and the Saiyan who killed the Celestial Dragons, could already be dead."
"I still can't believe the Navy would stoop so low, as to kill a pregnant woman just because she doesn't agree with how this world is run." The second reporter said. "But I'm sure the Navy would want you to think that Straw Hat and the Saiyans are dead, but right now there's no way of knowing what with everything else that's going on. I mean look at what they're dealing with here."
"That's true." The first reporter stated. "With his dying words, Whitebeard inspired Pirates all over the world. They're committing crimes more often then before. Every able bodied navy soldier available, has to deal with the increase in pirate activity."
"Well, how unfortunate for them." The second reporter said, before turning to look at the oncoming sea vessel. "Speaking of which, here comes some navy soldiers now."
"Those aren't Navy."
The reporters jumped when that voice spoke up, and they turned around, only to see a jaw dropping sight as Kaen wearing his hat gifted to him by Mina, came marching along the path, accompanied by Yamoshi, and Silfie. Silfie was dressed in her normal attire, while Yamoshi wore a black, blue and gold shoulder cowl with white and orange diamond decorations, with a gold choker around his neck, and one on each upper arm, while wearing a pair of red baggy pants, with martial arts shoes.
"Those are my comrades." Kaen said, taking the lead.
Kaen continued to march towards the ruins of the Marineford.
"I did all this?" Kaen questioned.
"Most of it. Some of the damage is from after we left when the war continued." Yamoshi said.
"Where's Mina's body?"
"Red Haired Shanks took it." Silfie said. "Wanted to bury her, someplace no one in the World Government could find."
"Do either of you know the location?" Kaen asked.
"He informed us of the area, yes." Yamoshi said. "We were once part of the same crew, so he knows how to get in contact with me."
"Good, I'd like to pay my respects to Mina's grave." Kaen said.
"In the meantime, I believe you should be focusing your energy on something, a bit more proactive." Silfie stated.
"Agreed, go ring the Ox Bell sixteen times." Yamoshi said.
The Marines that had stayed behind to try and rebuild Marineford, came charging at Kaen, Yamoshi, and Silfie, but they were stopped when small projectiles came flying through the air, and hit each of them in the head. Kaen looked over to the side, not even surprised when he saw the three standing on the ship, were supporting them as they circled the port.
"Luffy, Rayleigh, and Jinbe." Kaen acknowledged.
"It's good to see him again at least." Yamoshi stated.
Kaen continued to lead the way, knocking down any Marines that got in his path, before he stopped at the giant bell, that had barely been damaged in the war. When he got there, Luffy jumped from the ship, and stood next to his crewmate, both of them looking at one another with determination, both covered in bandages.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Kaen." Luffy said.
"Same to you." Kaen sighed. "I assume you know what to do?"
"Ring the bell." Luffy stated. "You wanna do the honors?"
"Let's do it together." Kaen said.
With their minds made up, both hopped up onto the platform, standing right under the bell before Kaen grabbed the rope, and threw it to one side, causing the Ox Bell to ring out. After the first ring, Luffy grabbed the rope and threw it back to Kaen, with the Saiyan teen grabbing the rope just as the bell rang. This continued on, until the bell had been rung sixteen times. After the sixteenth ringing, Kaen stopped the bell from going any further, and rested it back in place.
With their objective complete, Kaen and Luffy both jumped down from the bell, and began making their way to Whitebeards place of death. As they did, Kaen took notice of the tattoo on Luffy's arm.
'3D2Y? An' why's the 3D crossed out?' He pondered, as the reporters began taking pictures and followed them. Without saying a word, Kaen and Luffy stopped in front of Whitebeards place of death, and removed their hats, before holding them to their hearts, while closing their eyes, paying respect to all those who'd died in the war.
After a moments silence, with the occasional photo being taken, Luffy and Kaen put their hats back on their heads, before they were approached by a few reporters.
"Excuse me, but what are your plans for the future now that both Whitebeard and Straw Hat Luffy's crews are disbanded." The reporter asked.
"Quote me on this." Kaen said. "Though we're separated for now, Luffy's crew will regroup, and be stronger then ever. I however, need to do something on my own."
"Can you clarify that?" The reporter inquired.
"From this day forward, I officially leave the Straw Hat Pirates, and will form my own crew. A crew of pirates, who will be known as the Saiyan Pirates." Kaen stated. "An' as the captain of this crew, I will be serving under the lead of Monkey D. Luffy, as a subordinate crew to the future, King of the Pirates."
~Yamoshi's Island~
"So, how exactly are you gonna be forming this crew of yours?" Yamoshi inquired. "I honestly wasn't expecting you to make that sort of declaration."
"Well, first thing's first. I gotta return to Earth, and break the news to Mina's family, that she's actually dead." Kaen sighed.
"An' how are you gonna do that?" Silfie asked, working on something.
"With the flying fortress that Celeron took to get to this planet. Once I've formed my crew, I'll return to this world, and regroup with the Straw Hats." Kaen said. "But I think that clue on Luffy's arm, was a warning."
"Three days no more, two years we regroup." Silfie stated. "I understood it, since Rayleigh is a coats ships in that bubble resin for a living, it would take him three days to do it right. But knowing him, he's probably offered to train Luffy on how to control his Haki, and that would take about two years for Luffy to be able to learn the basics and master control over Haki to be able to survive in the New World."
"The old man does love rooting for the rookies, especially since Luffy's wearing Rogers hat." Yamoshi said.
"Wait, I though Luffy got his hat from Shanks." Kaen said.
"Who got the hat from me, when I got it from Roger." Yamoshi stated. "Shanks was just a kid when he was part of the crew, but he was strong, so when he joined I gave him the hat Roger gave me, and we set sail for the Grandline."
"I think we've talked enough about the past." Silfie said, coming over to Kaen with something in her hands. "Here, put this on."
"What is it?" Kaen asked, before suddenly feeling weak when he held it. "The hell?"
"It's Sea Prism Stone, a mineral that's twice as valuable as platinum outside the Land of Wano." Silfie said, taking the cuff bracelet and putting it on Kaen's wrist. "Luckily for you, I happen to have a stockpile of it, in spades."
"Why do I need this?" Kaen asked.
"Because you're gonna train to develop an immunity to the mineral." Silfie said. "The goal is to train your body to the point where the Sea Prism Stone will just shut your Devil Fruit powers off, without draining you of your energy. Once you've managed that, you'll be wearing that non-stop, and will only take it off to train your power, and use the power in extreme emergencies only."
"That's gonna have to wait for now." Kaen said, removing the cuff bracelet. "I have a mission to prepare for."
"Before we can allow you to take on this mission, you have to tell us what your dream is." Yamoshi said.
"You can't be serious." Kaen stated.
"Tell us, or we'll keep you from leaving the planet." Silfie said.
"Fine." Kaen sighed. "On the planet I grew up on, there's a profession known as Hero. I was raised by my Aunt Gine, one of the lucky survivors who escaped death from Planet Vegeta's destruction, and the Number1 Hero All Might. Being raised by him, I wasn't like most Saiyans, and when I learned of what I really am, my goals and ambitions took a turn."
"Meaning?"
"Before I found out I was a Saiyan, I dreamed of being the next Symbol of Peace, and Beacon of Hope for the world. But after I found out who I was, I set my sights on something bigger." Kaen stated. "I don't wanna be the Symbol of Peace, for just one planet. I wanna be the Symbol of Peace, the shining light in the darkness of Frieza's tyranny, for the entire universe."
"Lofty ambitions indeed." Silfie said. "Alright, well let's get going then."
"Get going? You're not staying here?"
"No of course I'm not. I mean, you need someone to train you to get strong enough to fight Frostita, and Cooler when you return to Earth, right?" Silfie asked. "You won't have to worry, I told Frostita and Cooler that the planet was under Beerus's protection, and that if they were to do anything to it, their race would be destroyed, just like the Saiyans. I might have also told them, which planet to find you on. At their current pace, they should reach this planet, within2, maybe three years."
"Wait, so you already knew why I had to return to Earth?" Kaen asked.
"I'm a deity, and she's a fallen angel, remember?" Yamoshi asked. "We've got our ways of knowing, what people keep hidden."
~Earth's Lookout~
"So, what is it you wanted to speak with us about Mecheal?" Toshinori asked, sitting next to Gine, with Athena, and Tsuki, sitting across from Mecheal, in the underground lookout of the Earth's Guardian.
"What I wanted to speak to you about, is fairly simple." Mecheal sighed. "I believe Kaen, Mina, and Eri, are still alive."
There was a tense moment of silence, before Toshinori sighed.
"If this is some twisted game for getting our hopes up, then forget it." Toshinori said.
"Please, just hear him out." Arcane stated.
"Athena, your device was meant for travel, correct?"
"Yeah, it was meant for traveling from one location to another." Athena said.
"Well it was successful, somewhat." Mecheal stated. "Mina, Eri, and Kaen weren't killed in that explosion. They were just sent somewhere, far, far away."
"Of course." Gine gasped. "There are multiple planets within the universe, all of which could theoretically be accessible with Athena's device. If it'd overloaded, then the destination could be anywhere within the galaxy, the universe even."
"I'm sure of this, because I managed to form a mental connection with Mina, a couple weeks ago." Mecheal said. "After extensive research, I've managed to locate the planet they wound up on."
Arcane brought up a map, and it showed the galaxy cluster that they'd located the planet in, before they zoomed in on a planet as it was circled and labeled, and three dots, indicating it was where the three travelers were located.
"We don't know where exactly they are on the planet, but we do know it's a planet where they'll thrive and grow." Arcane explained.
"So, what's the plan for getting them back?" Toshinori asked.
"Thing is… they'll only come back, if there's nothing to keep them there on that world." Mecheal said, before his eyes widened when he felt a powerful energy pressure.
"Pardon the intrusion." Silfie said, appearing in the Lookout, with Kaen next to her. "But we'd like to interject on this discussion."
"Kaen?" Athena gasped, seeing her brother.
"Hey sis, mom, dad." Kaen said. "It's good to see you all again."
"Oh, my boy." Toshinori said, pulling Kaen in for a hug. "I cannot believe you're still alive. It feels like a dream, I don't wanna wake up from."
"It's really me dad. I'm here." Kaen said, hugging him back.
"Oh Kaen, I thought we'd lost you." Gine said, joining in the hug.
"Mom." Kaen sobbed, as he and Toshinori welcomed her into the hug.
Athena stood up hesitantly, grabbing her arm with a nervous bite of her lip, before she racked up the courage to speak up.
"Kaen… I just wanna say, I'm sorry." Athena said. "The device wasn't ready, it overloaded and…"
"Just shut up, and get in here." Kaen said, pulling Athena into the hug.
"It's so good to know you're still alive bro." Athena said, as she cried tears of relief and joy.
The hug continued on, before they finally broke, with Arcane providing bottles of water to rehydrate them after all their crying. Gine noticed all the bandages Kaen was wrapped in, and she began to worry.
"What happened to you, what's with all these bandages?" Gine asked.
"Why does your power level feel so low?" Athena asked.
"Both answers to those, are kind of a long story." Kaen said.
"Where's Mina, and Eri?" Tsuki asked, joining in on the conversation.
"It's, kinda hard to explain but…"
"Kaen." Silfie said. "Don't you have something to do, now that you've reunited with your family?"
"But I…"
"I'll handle any and all questions they have." Silfie said. "Get going to the fortress, and we'll all catch up as soon as possible."
"Right, I'll get to it." Kaen said.
As soon as Kaen was gone, Silfie turned to the others, a smile on her face.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Silfie. I am the personal angel attendant to Lord Yamoshi, and second wife of Captain Kaen." Silfie said, introducing herself.
"Lord Yamoshi?" Mecheal and Gine questioned.
"Second wife?" Tsuki, Arcane, and Toshinori questioned.
"To answer the whereabouts of Mina Ashido Yagi, and Eri Yagi, I first must tell you about the adventures, of a certain pirate crew, known as the Straw Hats." Silfie smiled, the crystal ball on her staff, glowing brightly.
~Later~
"Alright, that should just about do it." Kaen said, as he finished putting a stage together in the plaza of the USJ. "Dad should be arriving with all students shortly."
"Kaen, is everything all set?" Silfie asked, coming into the USJ with Gine, Athena, Arcane, and Tsuki following closely behind her.
"I just finished, now we just gotta wait on my dad to bring everyone." Kaen said. "Broadcast should be ready to go as well, as soon as we begin."
"Great." Gine smiled, before she smacked Kaen upside the back of the head.
"Hey, what was that for?" Kaen questioned.
"You're married to a fallen angel, and she's your second wife. What do you think?" Gine asked with a stern look on her face. "Not to mention, you left Eri with a talking reindeer."
"I didn't leave her with Chopper, she went to learn under him on her own." Kaen hissed. "I'll be going back to the planet anyway. My business there isn't done, and my grudge is far from over with Kizaru."
"Silfie told us." Athena said, as Gine pulled Kaen in for a hug.
"I'm so sorry you lost her, and the baby." Gine softly said.
"The one I should be apologizing to for Mina's death, is right over there." Kaen said, looking to Tsuki.
"No. You don't have to apologize." Tsuki said. "It wasn't your fault that my daughter and unborn grandchild were murdered by the corrupt government of that world. Though it pains me to lose her, it does my heart good, knowing you're doing what you can to make sure that doesn't happen again, to anyone else."
"Still, I failed to protect her, and for that I can never atone for what happened to her." Kaen said.
"As much as I hate to break up this reunion, it's show time." Silfie said, as the doors to the USJ were opening up, allowing for all the U.A students, from all the years, to pile into the building.
Kaen stepped back, hiding behind Tsuki and Gine, before Toshinori stepped up to the front of the stag, wearing an earpiece microphone.
"Alright everyone, alright just settle down now." Toshinori stated. "I know, that everyone's a bit on edge, now that you're all living within the dorms, and I wanna thank you for coming out here, when it's so late. I know that you're all talking and wondering, why the family of Saiyans called you all to the USJ. First off, I'd like to state that this announcement is being broadcast all across the world."
"The secret of Saiyans is public knowledge now?" Kaen asked in a hushed tone.
"Your father had a surprisingly final battle against All-for-One, after the training camp had been attacked by the League of Villains." Gine said, her voice just as soft and hushed. "After the battle, a broadcast played, showing our landing on the planet, and even showed proof that we were never human. So the Prime Minister came out with the truth, and revealed us to the world, because he was forced into a corner, with no escape."
"So now that we've got that bit of information out of the way, I'd like to let someone, who we all thought to be long dead, say something. An' I'd ask that you hear him out entirely, before making your final judgement." Toshinori finished.
"That's my cue." Kaen sighed, before stepping up as he turned on his own ear piece, and presented himself to the crowd of students, several of whom gasped upon seeing him. "I know, that my death had been reported, after an incident at my sisters lab. I know that many of you who knew me, must have been grieving, and refused to believe I was dead. Well, I'm not. The truth is, the device my sister made, had worked, just not the way it was supposed to. I wound up on a planet, comprised of mostly water, and several times bigger then the earth.
"I am not here, to say I'm back, and gonna stay for good. I'm here to say, that I'm looking for people to help me, to join me in saving this planet from the corruption, that plagues it, in the guise of a Governmental System. The world I've been on, these last few months, is filled with corruption, and won't stop until every nation is ruled under one banner, under the laws of an iron fist tyrannical monarch, pulling the strings. The world I've been on, is filled with adventure, as well as danger. The freewill of the people there, is being oppressed, and will be taken, if nothing is done to stop the corrupt government."
"What exactly do you expect us to do about it?" One of the upper classmen asked.
"I want you, to join me." Kaen said. "I'll be honest, tonight you'll be choosing to join me on the flying fortress to this world I speak of, and become heroes. Two years from now, is when the fortress I've taken command of, will be leaving for this world I've been living on. I'm not gonna sugar coat it, but what I'm asking of you, is to join my crew, a crew of pirates."
"Pirates?"
"He can't be serious right?"
"Aren't pirates villains?"
"Now while it's true, that pirates have a bad reputation that surrounds the title, I can assure you not all pirates are like that on this world." Kaen said. "While there are some like that, the crew I've been traveling with, have been the equivalent, to heroes from our world, and the Captain I served under, is equivalent to my father All Might, when he was still among the top ten heroes, that's my opinion at least."
"If you're needing any proof, that the government on this new world, is corrupt and tyrannical, then look no further then to my son." Toshinori stated. "He recently fought that worlds government, in a war that they waged, to protect Mina Ashido, the young girl who'd been turned into a Saiyan against her will, but chose to remain one. On this world, she married my son, and was with child, but tragedy struck as the World Government captured Ashido, and murdered her along with the unborn child, in cold blood."
"The world I've been on, supports slavery, and obeys the whims of Nobles who call themselves Celestial Dragons, descendants of the founders of the World Government, who hold themselves on the same pedestals as deities. It was the deaths of three of these nobles, that gave the government cause to arrest Mina." Kaen said. "The deaths that I caused, when they shot and tried to kill my daughter Eri, without an ounce of remorse. As I mentioned, I will not force anyone to join me, those of you standing here now, are free to leave, instead of joining my crew. But those who remain, will join me, and thus be mandated to the Saiyan Transformation. You'll be leaving your human genetics behind, and will become a member of the new Saiyan Race. The choice is yours, but know once you join, you cannot refuse the change into a Saiyan, as you will need all the strength you can get for the fights ahead, as many of our enemies will have powers, derived from fruits known as Devil Fruits. Many of our allies will have powers from these as well. But now, you are to make you decision, should you choose to leave, no one will fault you."
There was a moment of intense silence as Kaen and Toshinori finished what they were saying, before the crowd of students began to break apart. One by one, the students began leaving the USJ Plaza, heading back up the stairs, and returning to the buses that brought them. Eventually, Kaen saw those who'd stayed, had chosen their paths, and they were showing their determination, by standing their ground to be by his side.
"What are your orders Captain?" Kirishima questioned.
"We will be meeting up on the flying fortress, which will act as our ship until we get to the planet I've come to call my new home. As I've already stated, the return trip to this new world, will take place in two years, but that's what will be required to bring me back to my full strength, and make me strong enough to face the dangers to come. It'll also give us ample time to stock up on supplies, and tie up any loose ends any of you may need to attend to before departing." Kaen said. "I know this may be uprooting your lives somewhat, but I just wish to say, thank you. From the bottom of my heart."
"You're our friend, Yagi." Jiro said.
"If you believe fighting back against the government of that world, is the only way to fight the darkness, then so be it." Tokoyami said.
"We'll make sure those scoundrels pay for what they did to Ashido." Iida said.
"My babies have been itching for a chance to be used." Mei stated. "Team Alchemy has your back Captain."
"Right." Jenny, Ruby, and Winry agreed.
"Don't forget me bro." Athena stated. "You know I'm not letting you out of my sights, ever again."
"Before we can go, any and all villains who could pose a serious threat to this world, must be dealt with." Kaen said. "Therefore, I will accept responsibility, and transfer them from Tartarus to the prisons in my flying fortress. Where they will remain, until they die. Naturally, this only goes for villains, who are carrying out life sentences with no chance for parole or early release. So if there are any government officials watching this, then please contact me, and we may discuss this matter further."
"Alright. Everyone gathered here, is gonna come with me and Athena, to undergo the Saiyan Transformation." Gine said.
"Let's move out people." Kaen said, before he smirked. "We've got a universe to defend."
