"I was told by the guards that you created a potion to help speed up healing."Aart said to Hermione. The pair along with the goblins,Mauve, Sebastian, Nymphadora, Phyllis and Firenze were gathered outside enjoying a picnic by the black lake.Mauve, Firenze, Aart and Hermione's guards had set up a perimeter around the group far enough away to allow them privacy but close enough to prevent anyone from approaching them."As well one for cosmetic use and two creams."
"Yes, the initial potion's outcome was that it worked to remove wrinkles and tighten skin.I gave some to my aunt and she claims that she looks the same as when she was in her early 20's."Hermione told her.
"Why have you not patented this?"The goblin matriarch asked.
Hermione shrugged."I didn't really think about it because it wasn't what I was trying to achieve."
"I told her she needed to because she would make a lot of money if she did.My mother agreed."Nymphadora said.
"Now that you don't have to deal with the hospital I think you should set up some official trials so you can patent it."Aart predicated that Hermione would make a lot of money off of the product.
"The problem is that I don't have anywhere to hold the trials if not at the hospital."Hermione wasn't opposed to the idea she just didn't think she would be allowed to work out of Hogwarts.
"That brings up your idea of a processing plant.Maybe when we build one we can add space for trials and research labs."Griphook said.
"If you are worried about the initial investment then I'm sure all of us are more than happy to invest."Firenze told her.
"We would gladly invest."Mauve agreed.
"If you all agree it's a good idea then we should do it."Hermione was relieved that the others supported her decision as she knew it was going to take a lot of work to get done and she would need help.
"In the mean time I think we should look into setting up a temporary space for trials."The goblin matriarch suggested.
"What else do you have that needs to be tested?"Phyllis asked.
"Like Aart said I have a potion that helps the body heal quickly.I have the four werewolves I cured using it and instead of the six month needed to recover they would normally need the potion will bring their body back to peak physical condition in a week or two at the most."Hermione explained.
"So you are already running a trial for that."Aart could only imagine how much that portion would help people heal after extreme injuries."Does it work with magical creatures?"
Hermione nodded."I haven't official tried with anyone but the werewolves but I am sure that I can adapt it to anyone else.I would just have to tweak the ingredients to each specific species."
"Even vampires?"Mauve asked.
"They would need to drink a large supply of blood but the potion could bring a vampire back from the verge of death if taken properly."Hermione told her.
"Amazing."Nymphadora mumbled in awe.
"I will provide you with some of my people who have severe injuries that never healed properly as test subjects."Mauve said.
"I will also sent you some members of our tribe to help with testing."The goblin chief volunteered.
"We also have some of our people who would benefit from such healing."Firenze said.
"I want to send a couple of our healers to help you with this."Not only would Hermione need help but Aart wanted her clan to have the hands on experience treating other species.It would go a long way in helping the Laaskos earn the trust of others and could help with the alliances they already made with Hermione's family.
"Don't forget to tell them about the two cremes."Nymphadora reminded Hermione.
"One of cremes is a non addictive topical pain creme.I use it myself as does Minerva, Severus and Albus."Hermione told them.
"How strong is it?"The goblin chief asked.
"My fiancé Remus is one of Hermione's werewolf patients and has been using it.He told me that it works much better than a pain potions.He was actually hoping that when the trial was done that Hermione would be willing to give him a couple extra tubes to keep incase he needed them in the future."Nymphadora had been surprised with how effective the creme was because Remus claimed to be in much less pain than he was when he was using the pain potion and the muggle medicine.
"This will work on magical creatures as well right?"Phyllis asked.
Hermione nodded."Most things I make can be used by magical creatures including vampires.Just like with the potion I would need to alter the ingredients to make it work for each species."
"A pain creme for vampires?"Mauve was obviously shocked to hear that.
"If rubbed into the vampire's wound it will numb the area while it healing.It's a slightly different formula than the original as some of the ingredients were deadly to vampires."Hermione explained.
"Like with the potion I think we should all send some of our people for testing.You already have the werewolves so you don't need anymore humans.So patenting that should be easy."Aart was already making plans to get in touch with her lawyers."What is the other creme?"
"It's a creme that removes scar tissue."Hermione said.
"Like a glamor creme?"Phyllis asked.
"No, it actually heals the the scars and transforms the skin back to normal leaving no traces of the scars behind."Hermione told her.
"Is it only for scars or can it remove other blemishes as well?"Aart was very interested in this crème.In Veela society beauty was very important.If Hermione created something that could remove imperfections then Aart knew that her clan could benefit from it.
"Anything unnatural on the skin be it scars, blemishes, discoloring or even weathered skin would be reverted back to the original condition.The only real side effect is that the new skin will not match the color of the other skin right away.It would take a couple weeks to blend together."Hermione explained.
"Hermione tested this on some of my people and the results were incredible.Scars that were decades old and extremely painful were healed as if they were never there at all.I even witnessed it being used on unicorns.It cleared their skin and allowed hair regrowth on the spots healed."Firenze said.
"You healed a unicorn?"Nymphadora wasn't sure she believed that.Unicorns didn't mix with humans or many others for that matter.
"I've been friends with the unicorns ever since Firenze introduced me to the heard that live in the Forbidden Forest.The elder actually gifted me part of his horn to use as my wand core as a gesture of friendship for helping deliver a foal that the mother was having complications doing.If I hadn't preformed a c-section both the mother and the son would have died.From then on I have monitored their health and am considered their personal healer."Hermione had great experiences interacting with the unicorns.
"They couldn't have a better ally than you."Aart smiled fondly at her daughter.She was very proud of the way Hermione seemed to charm so many.The girl brought together the unlikeliest allies making friends out of enemies.The proof being the gathering they were currently having.
"So getting back on track.You have the cosmetic potion that needs to go through official testing.The pain creme, the skin creme and the potion to help the body to recover quickly are all in trial phase now so you don't need humans for them."The goblin chieftain listed off."However each of us agrees we will send some of our own people to go through official trails so they can not only help us but then they can be officially patented to be sold to others of our species.Is there anything else you are working on?"
"I wanted to work on a cure for blood malediction but I was asked last night to look over a case that involves two people that had long exposure to a very powerful curcio curse.The healers believe them to be insane and there is no cure for them but the matriarch of the family doesn't believe that and asked me to see if I could do anything."Hermione had already started putting a plan together and was excited to meet the couple the next day.
"Curing blood malediction would be impressive but if you found a way to help people recover from exposure to one of the unforgivables then that would be groundbreaking.Are you doing this by yourself or are you teaming up with the hospital?"Mauve asked.
"I'm going to be relying on muggle medicine for this and since the hospital won't support that I'm going to do this on my owns.Besides they would just insist on me having an assistant and that would hinder any progress I would make."That was one of Hermione biggest complaints working with the hospital.They didn't leave her alone and made her consult with a supervisor before she did anything.
"Maybe when we build we should add some space to put muggle medical equipment."Griphook suggested.
"I think that's a good idea.It would stop you from having to deal with your aunt when you need access to a muggle hospital."Phyllis didn't like Hermione's squib family because they were constantly trying to gain from Hermione.She understood their culture it was just annoying when they wouldn't help Hermione without expecting something in return.
"This project is going to need a lot of gold to finish."The goblin matriarch mused.
"Yes, but with the investment from each of our groups it will differ the cost."Mauve told her.
"Does Hermione have a suitable property that can be modified?"Aart asked.
"When the estate managers were talking about the businesses there was mention of a commercial property building near the ministry that was owned by the Malfoy'd.It was brought up because Lucius wasn't charging anyone rent to use it."Griphook said.
"Who is using it?"Phyllis asked.
"A business owned by the Avery family."Griphook informed them.
"Another family of Death Eaters."Nymphadora grumbled.
"That makes the choice to kick them out easy.Do they have an official rent agreement?"Mauve asked.
Griphook shook his head."Nothing in writing at least.The only reason we know they were there is because we sent goblins to each property to make sure no one occupied any of the estates or buildings that weren't suppose to."
"Did you find anyone else that was squatting?"Aart wouldn't put it past Hermione's pureblood family to try and syphon off the estate.
"We found at least a half dozen private homes occupied and gave then a weeks notice to vacate.Guards were sent to make sure they left without a fight.As for commercial buildings they were mostly occupied but as in the case with the Avery family a lot of the business were there rent free. We wanted to deal with the estates first before we evicted the businesses as we felt it was more important to secure any family owned items."Griphook explained.
"How are you going to deal with the businesses?"Phyllis asked Hermione.
"I think we first need to kick out anyone not paying rent.Not only are they not making us any money they are probably there because of a deal they made with the former heads of household.Wr all know what kind of people they associate with so it would be better to distance them from our house.As for those who are paying rent we figure out exactly what type of business they have.I doubt many them are something I want to be aligned with so we will most likely want to evict them as well."Hermione was pretty sure that most of the people who occupied the buildings weren't doing everything legally.
"There is a clause in each rental agreement that states if a new head of household takes over they have the right to cancel any contract that was signed by the previous head.Only a legal notice of 30 days has be given.They of course can fight it in court but the terms are very clear."Griphook said.
"I'll send security from my clan to help clear the buildings."Aart would be happy to help Hermione distance herself from the scum her family had attached to themselves.
"I'll send some as well.That way instead of using humans who can be bribed we will be able to stop anything bad from happening."Mauve offered.
"Speaking of guards I have the rings you asked for."Hermione told Mauve.Hermione's final project to get her charms mastery was creating a ring that when vampires wore it they were immune to the sun.Not knowing any vampires Hermione sent a letter with her proposal to Mauve hoping that she would help.Mauve instantly agreed and that became the start of Hermione's relationship with Mauve and her coven.
Mauve smiled."Thank you Hermione.That will allow me to send more people.I would also like to send a few guards to patrol Hogwarts while the tournament is going on.Something I will be speaking to Dumbledore about later."
"That's a good idea."Aart was kicking herself for not thinking about that.She was so focused on Hermione's personal safety she didn't even consider keeping an eye on the school and grounds.
"When they come I'll have them coordinate with my guards as well.We unfortunately are limited to the forest but we would be more than happy to have some of your people on our lands."Firenze said.
"Speaking of the tournament have there been any clues given on the first task?"Phyllis asked.
Hermione shook her head."Nothing has been said to me at least."
"It's in a week and you still don't know what it is?"Nymphadora was worried about how Hermione would be able to prepare herself if she didn't know what she was up against.
"Calm down you are going to make her nervous."Aart wasn't happy with this situation and after finding out why Hermione had been entered in the cup wanted to bring Hermione home and forget about the whole thing.It was because Hermione had to compete or she would lose her magic that prevent her from doing it.That was something that Aart would never ask Hermione to sacrifice no matter if her safety was at risk or not.
"I'm not worried.I will do good or I won't."Hermione wasn't worried about the first task.It didn't matter how she felt it would happen and like everything else in life she would deal with it when the time came.
"Of course you will do good.You are a strong warrior anything you face you will defeat with ease."Firenze proclaimed proudly.
"Hermione it's time to say goodbye to your guests."Minerva said as she approached the group.
"Alright."Hermione stood from her spot on the grass and gave Nymphadora a hug."Thank you for coming."
"If I don't see you before the first task good luck and know that we all will be cheering for you."Nymphadora had already made a few signs for the event and was excited to see the action.
"I want you to come to the forest this weekend.You need to run through a few drills to make sure your reflexes are sharp and you are still in top shape."Firenze said as he leaned down and gave Hermione a hug.
"I'll make sure to bring my bow."Hermione was looking forward to spending some time with the centaur.It had been to long since she visited.
"I'll send you letters to inform you of anything that needs your attention involving the evictions."Griphook told her.
"Thank you uncle."Hermione leaned down to hug him then the goblin chieftain and the matriarch."Thank you for coming grandfather, grandmother."
"We will be here for the first task with some of the tribe that wishes to come watch their champion."The chieftain said.
"I will make you proud."Hermione promised.
"You could never not make us proud."Phyllis said as she gave Hermione a hug."Pandora and myself will be in the stands watching.I will send you a letter if I figure anything out before you do."
Aart stepped forward for her own hug."If you have time would you do some training with your guards with the sword?"
"Of course mother.I would like that very much."Hermione would love to teach the guards how to use the weapon.Not only did she like to teach but it would be nice to have someone to fight with as the sword wasn't commonly used by most people.
"Good and maybe do some dueling with the guards to practice your skills as I was told you didn't really get a chance to practice with the other champions."Aart wanted to make sure Hermione was as prepared as possible for the first task.During her talk with Dumbledore she had demanded he let her know what it was to be but was denied because of it being against the rules.She didn't care about rules but knowing it would cause Hermione to lose points stopped her from insisting.
"I'll do that."Hermione easily agreed.Turning her attention to Sebastian she gave him a hug as well."Thanks for practicing with me."
"Thanks for not kicking my ass to hard."Sebastian replied with a smile."I'll see you next week and good luck.Even though you don't need it."
"The guards I'm going to send are our elite select.You will know them but I will make sure they introduce themselves again."Mauve said as she received her hug.
"I left the rings in Dumbledore's office so before you leave you can get them from him."Hermione didn't trust leaving them anywhere other than his office because it was the most secure place in the castle.
"I'll collect them from him.Expect a large turn out from the coven as they all wish to see their princess in action."Mauve told her.
"I'm looking forward to seeing them."Hermione hadn't traveled to Mauve's castle in over a year.It would be nice seeing some of her friends after so long.
"Alright let's get going.Hermione I know you have big day tomorrow so I want you to eat something and relax before you go to bed.No projects."Minerva knew that Hermione had a long day ahead of her and didn't want her staying up all night working instead of getting some sleep.
"Thank you all for coming."Hermione called out receiving waves and goodbyes in response.Making her way back to the castle by herself she thought about the next day.She was excited to see what kind of condition the Longbottoms were and she m.It was going to be a lot of work to help them but she wouldn't know how much until she examined them.Thinking of how little time she had before she was expected to go to bed Hermione hurried her steps.She knew Minerva was going to check on her like she did every night to make she was sleeping and wanted to finish reading the medical journal dedicated to brain injuries she had before she went to bed.
