Patsy looked at Stephanie, getting confirmation that the wolf would not tell anyone about her secret. Stephanine nodded as Patsy decided to open up about it. Gretchen and Nina were the only people outside of her family who knew about it but even then, they never talked about it.
"Well, the doctors say it's a medical disorder. My body's immune system attacks my hair follicles, resulting in my...condition" Patsy admitted, clearly nervous about it as Stephanie looked at her, not understand the medical talk. "In simple terms... I can't grow hair."
Stephanie nodded, reminding the Mongoose that she saw the pink wig resting on a display when she was in Flying Cabin. claiming as a 'boy' being bald would be a nightmare, Stephanie could not imagine how she would take it if she presented herself as a girl.
Stephane comforted her, promising not to tell anyone as long as the Mongoose kept her end of the deal, to which they both agreed. Patsy looked a bit relieved, strangely feeling better talking about it, reaching into her vest pocket, pulling out a plastic bag, asking Stephanie if she wanted some; offering a handful of chocolate covered pretzels.
The Wolf took a few, looking at Patsy before putting one of the snacks in her mouth as she was curious, not having seen Patsy's head that night as she was wearing a sleeping cap. "So, is it like fully bald, bare skin?".
Patsy explained that that her head still had its brown fur. as Stephanie admitted she thought something was off about Patsy's hair. explaining that it was pink, but the wolf thought she dyed it. "Out of curiosity are you committed to pink, because I could see you pulling off a nice cobalt blue."
Patsy, ran her finger through the pink wig on her head, saying it just suited her as Stephanie nodded, looking at her. the wolf noticed something was going on between her and Lazlo as she brought it up, only to be quickly shot down.
"My hypothetical relationship with a certain camper is not part of the deal" Patsy rebutted as Stephanie acknowledged she had no right to ask about it, checking her watch. Stephanie made note that she should probably get back to Cocoa Bean Cabin, getting up from the log as the two girls looked at each other.
"Call it strange but I'm actually glad you're a girl, it means I have someone outside of the Squirrel Scouts to talk to about this stuff" Patsy admitted as Stephanie got up, saying she was glad to help, and that Patsy was not what she expected "Guess we're both full of surprises".
Stephanie walked back to camp, clearing her throat as she got her voice back to the masculine tone that she usually used when presenting herself as Steven. eventually she made her way to the cabin, returning to work on her precious Bean Can, popping the hood open.
The Wolf glanced over the engine; true it was working but Stephanine felt she could get more punch out of the kart. This was interrupted by Andy putting his hand on her shoulder, asking Steven where he had been. Pointing out the Wolf had not tried the pool all day.
"Well, the sun will be down any moment, no point in taking a soak now" Stephanie replied as Andy nodded, mentioning that Jelly Cabin was hosting an underground marshmallow roasting and invited Cocoa Bean. Andy asked if the wolf wanted to go to the roast.
Seeing no harm in it, Stephanie agreed as could use a nice marshmallow roast, asking if they had smores supplies. Tusk nodded, saying he found a whole surplus of graham crackers and that Andy got a whole supply of chocolate bars as Jakk whistled, asking how the Tiger managed that, Andy chuckled, saying he might have 'borrowed' it from Acorn Flats.
"They were all in the Food Terrance for a movie so it was easy to sneak right in" Andy admitted, lifting the tarp on a wagon of chocolate bars, meaning they could thank the Squirrel Scouts for their involuntary contribution.
Stephanie looked at Andy, claiming that she believed the Beans and the Squirrels were not messing with each other. Andy shrugged his shoulder, denying that this was 'messing with them'. There was no prank, no malice. he just took some chocolate, much to the cheer of the other scouts.
Dave claiming that Acorn Flats had the best chocolate, some premium brand from Europe as Andy wheeled the wagon to the Location for underground marshmallow roasts. where The Jellies were setting a bonfire.
Lazlo was the one to start the fire, rubbing his elbows along the dry firewood, causing the flames to start. The sun was down by this point and the boys got started on their smores, tearing open the boxes of graham crackers, bags of marshmallows and chocolate bars.
The boys spent the night toasting marshmallows and Andy had supplied some of the extra flavored water from his stash, saying they had strawberry, melon and apple. Andy tossed one of the cans to Stephanie who caught it. The Tiger was clearly looking at her, holding his smore.
"So, Steven, what's the matter?" Andy asked, taking a bite of his smore as he sat beside the wolf. Stephanie was not going to come clean with Andy, as aside from Patsy she did not want anyone else to know. The wolf just pondered, claiming she was homesick. Andy seemed to buy it, making note that the Orphans were being run without them.
It wasn't that the Orphans were in bad hands, being trusted to Felix and GM Joe, and they were capable and loyal. he just felt weird not being there if something went down, to be left in the dark.
"Why did you even recruit GM Joe in the first place, he doesn't really do anything, he just hangs around?" Tusk asked drinking one of the cans as Andy looked at the Boar, confused by what he said, Andy always thought Tusk had recruited him. While GM Joe was a bit weird the Tiger had full trust in him and Felix.
Andy Looked at Stephanie, bringing out the subject of gangs and how Dennis and the Brotherhood of Incense was in Pricky Pines. he looked at the wolf, knowing that Steven used to roll with them, asking why the wolf left. Stephanie huffed, rubbing her shoulder.
"I Just wanted a fresh start, and I saw how quick the Orphans were shooting up, plus Dennis and me were at odds, I mean we left on good terms but... let's just say there is a reason I left and leave it at that.
Andy nodded, knowing that Steven did not like to discuss his time in the B.O.I. as the returned to toasting Marshmallows as Andy gave one final look at the wolf, telling Steven that he could talk to them about anything, especially Andy.
The Tiger got back up deciding to spend some time with the Cabin Leaders. Steven nodded, looking at the others, enjoying the roast. Stephanie excused herself, claiming she was going to take a shower as the wolf walked off.
Most of the camp was into the marshmallow eating contest between Tusk and Raj. It got so interesting that Edward opened up a betting pool. Jakk was drinking one the flavored waters, watching to two stuff marshmallows into their mouth as now there was beads riding on it.
The contest continued as the scouts were cheering the two boys as they continued eating, neither showing any signs of stopping as Lazlo looked at his watch, wondering how long this could go on.
In the Camp shower Stephanie entered, relieved to finally have some time to herself. undoing her Bean scout uniform, setting it aside as she removed the shorts of her uniform, and coming to some bandages wrapped around her chest. Stephanie delicately unrolled them around her torso, revealing her breasts, which while small were still noticeable if not for her bandages.
Stephanie commented how good it felt to give the girls some liberty from their constrictive bind. walking into one of the stalls, closing the door behind her. standing naked the wolf reached for the knob, turning it as icy cold water blasted the wolf, a feeling to which she was getting used to.
Stephanie reached for the soap, pouring it into her hand as she lathered herself, suds covering her body. despite the lackluster feeling of a cold shower, Stephanie enjoyed these moments of personal freedom.
Back at the Roast, the two were eating and both showing signs of slowing. both boys filled with marshmallow as Raj tried pushing another one of the gooey treats as Andy was cheering on Tusk.
"Come on you're only behind by three marshmallows, you can win this" Andy praised as Tusk struggled, pushing his marshmallow in, as he lost control, falling over as Lazlo held Raj's hand up, declaring him the winner. The elephant let out a small belch.
"Still the champion of consuming Marshmallows, the Sultan of Smores, the Prince of Peeps, my buddy Raj" Lazlo praised as clam put a crown on Raj's head, made of twigs, the ends decorated with fluffy marshmallows as the scouts cheered.
Tusk stood up, throwing up a mess of marshmallow fluff. he was lucky to miss his uniform, but the white fluid was stuck to the boar's face. Tusk claimed this had never happened, him losing an eating contest.
Lazlo told him the no one could eat more marshmallows than Raj. the Elephant once caused a shortage in the camp. Tusk nodded, saying he was going to take a shower to wash off the marshmallow fluff off and failure, heading to the showers. Tusk approached the stalls, seeing that Steven was in there as The Boar recalled that he had never actually seen Steven shower before.
The Boar did not think much of it as he walked into the stalls. he saw Steven standing in one the stalls, facing away from him and lathering as Tusk called out to the wolf who froze up, turning his head to face Tusk.
"What are you doing in here Tusk, I mean... you all usually take your shower in the morning" Stephanie asked as Tusk explained that he got marshmallow all over himself from ralphing during the eating contest. the boar could only see above Steven's shoulders and below his knees due to the wooden barricade to the stalls.
The boar got undressed as he walked to the stall next to the wolf, getting in the adjacent shower. looking over to Steven, holding his hand out over the barricade, asking Steven to share the body wash. Stephanie did so, never having showered with the boys before; even at Westridge.
"Well, this is awkward" Stephanie thought to herself as two wooden posts and four slabs of woods covered her, if tusk looked over the barricade, he would see everything.
Patsy having no hair is a reference to the episode 'It's Me, Almondine' where it's revealed all the girls have disfigurements, though it's played for a gag. I thought the idea had potential.
