Chapter 12 "Urgent" Later on

(Song Suggestion- "Urgent" by Foreigner)

Janine

From a distance, I saw Puft disintegrate from thin air and white fluff spewing every way in the air. My mouth dropped agape for a minute right away at sight.

"Did they do it? Did my guys defeat Mr. Stay Puft!" These thoughts ran rampant through my brain as I watched him vanish, and marshmallow fluff scatteree every way like a water flowing down an erratic waterfall.

It is laborious to describe the pure joy and satisfaction I felt viewing Walter Peck doused with marshmallow residue. However, I uncontrollably roared with laughter until my side hurt. Several people gave me strange glances like I had lost my mind as they passed me, but I couldn't help it. After my belly laugh, I regained my composure and strode closer to Dana's apartment. Regrettably, I couldn't get past the police barricades before the action went down on the rooftop. I ended up a block away.

Less than an hour later, I nervously hung around for Egon to appear as the Ghostbusters one by one after Stay Puft marshmallow's ultimate demise. The city was cheering wildly as each one appeared, but I held my breath until I saw him.

"Please, please let them be OK," I distressedly thought as I rapidly proceeded towards the people and the portentous building. I noted the eccentric design style of it as I walked hurriedly. The sky lightened up from a pitch-black color to a cloudy one, and the evil threatening feeling seemed to fade away, too. Next, I heard people cheering "Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters," and I ran in my low heels as fast as possible to see my guys.

First, I saw Peter and Dana blissfully lip-locked while embracing the crowd cheering them on. Winston appeared next in his easy-going way, with a smile and a wave, although he looked tired. The masses cheered him as he went around to shake hands and joined Dana and Peter by Ecto One. My heart leaped in my chest as I awaited the next Ghostbuster to make an appearance. I already felt flush with fever, worrying about Egon and my pulse raced. Pushing through the multitude of people, I saw my older brother " from another mother" appear through the door of the building.

"Ray!" I yelled, waving wildly, trying to get his attention. Instead, he lit a cigarette, nodded at the crowd, and headed over to Winston, Peter, and Dana at Ecto One.

Scrutinizing the three Ghostbusters out, I saw grime on their jumpsuits, and noted that each one had varying amounts of marshmallow remains on them.

"Where is Egon?"

Finally, I stuck my elbows out again and propelled myself through the hollering horde of people.

As soon as I saw his lanky frame, I shouted and ran as fast as I could towards him, "Egon!"

"Janine," Egon's sexy deep voice announced when he saw me. Observing him, he was covered in dirt and some marshmallow grime, but seemed, fortunately, uninjured.

Relieved, I grasped him tightly in an embrace, and then I put my hands on his cheek staring at my hero, adoringly.

Although I knew that Egon didn't like being around so many people usually, he surprised me when he stopped and kissed me passionately. I couldn't even hear any of the chaos around us - all I had was tunnel vision/hearing for Egon. We were going to be stuck like glue for a while, I felt.

"I love you, Egon Spengler. Thank God you made it," I declared after our extended kiss, and behind us, the people were screaming and cheering loudly for us.

"Let's go," he urged and took my hand as we walked to the car.

Prior to reaching Ecto One, Egon halted in his tracks and tearfully admitted," Although that was one of the scariest things I had ever observed, the thought of me not returning to you alive was the most terrifying."

We oscillated passionately after his revelation.

"This is one of the happiest days of my life," I informed him. Next, Egon clasped my hands and led me to the car where the others were awaiting us.

"Your lucky coin truly deserves the recognition- it kept us safe. Thank you for letting me borrow it," my boyfriend mentioned to me then kissed me tenderly. Afterward, he pulled the coin out of his pocket and handed it back to me.

Truthfully, I was thrilled that he still had it and a grin materialized on my lips.

"No, it's our lucky coin now, my love," I corrected him, closed his palm with my right hand, and made him put it back in his pocket.

"Janine! Egon!" Ray excitedly yelled as they saw us.

We took turns greeting each other with either a handshake or a hug, and I felt relief when the others were safe.

"My man," Winston greeted, shaking Egon's hand when we approached them and gave me a side embrace," there's our Janegon."

"Janegon?" Dana slowly repeated, her eyes widened in confusion, " Who's that?"

As Ray and Peter chuckled, Egon rolled his eyes at Winston but stated, " I am too jubilant to be preoccupied about that silly nickname."

"I'll fill you in later, Dana," Venkman pledged.

Egon reclaimed my hand as we entered the vehicle. Winston, my lover, and I sat in the back, and I flopped on the latter's lap. I tightly squeezed my arms around my physicist's neck and peered up into his long attractive face before kissing him.

"I prayed the whole time you were up there. I was so terrified that you wouldn't come back," I admitted, tears filling my eyes.

"It's smooth sailing from here, my Angel," Egon vowed, "Just you and me"

To Winston's embarrassment, we were lip locked for a while and produced soft moaning sounds as we kissed frantically.

"Oh Jesus," he groaned, smacking his head, " why did I get stuck back here? Ray, can we go?"

With a wry smile, Peter turned around in the front seat with Dana on his lap and pointed an index finger at Winston in a heckling sort of way. She gave him a playful disapproving look, but still didn't quite seem herself.

"Here we go," Ray said, glancing at his rearview mirror, seeing Egon and me pausing for a second.

"You are my hero," I lustfully flirted with him, " I can't wait to celebrate!"

At that time, Egon muttered dirty comments in my right ear about actions he wanted to do with me a little later, and I giggled as my face flushed red hot.

"We have a lot to celebrate- today, getting back together, five months to make up for," I reminded him with a cunning smile. My physicist gave me a crafty lopsided grin and then pulled me tightly to him.

"The firehouse is ten minutes down the road, Romeo and Juliet, " Pete lamented with disbelief.

"Come on," Dana gently scolded him, " it's sweet."

"Not from this angle," Winston cracked wisely, sitting next to us.

"How are we going to get to my apartment," I questioned my hero softly.

With Manhattan a disaster area and traffic-jammed due to the destruction, it would be a challenge to get to Brooklyn.

"Good question," Egon admitted, shaking his head, " let me get back with you."

All the broken glass and items, misplaced papers, and debris made HQ appear like a construction when we arrived. Plus, there was a massive hole in the roof over the containment unit with the fresh air and other debris coming into the building.

"Oh, fuck," Ray exclaimed while noting all of the damage.

"What happened here," Dana asked innocently.

Everyone chuckled, except her, and Peter opened the door of Ecto One. Once Dana slid off his lap, he guided her upstairs. Genuinely happy to be alive, I didn't worry about the status of the firehouse at the time. Ray scrutinized the building as he evacuated the vehicle.

"Dana needs to rest. I will take her upstairs to my room to lay down," Dr. Venkman announced as he quickly picked her up and carried her upstairs.

As I slid off of Egon's lap and waited patiently for him to exit Ecto One, Ray joked

"Venkman, don't forget the condoms."

"Grow up, Raymond. Dana's been through a disquieting experience," Peter admonished him as they ascended the stairs.

"That's not fair. Peter can dish it but not take it," I whined, putting my hands on my hips.

"It's not worth it," Egon murmured behind me, kissing my lips to halt my protest.

My big brother disregarded the conversation as he examined the building until my boyfriend stopped him.

"Ray, wait until tomorrow and we will analyze the damage. There isn't anything we can do right now. Let's enjoy the victory," Egon advised, grabbing his elbow.

The youngest ghostbuster appeared skeptical until I commenced coaxing him, too. It took a while, but we were successful. Meanwhile, Winston went to my desk to call Maura, but the telephone lines were all jammed with the power going out in the City.

"I'm sure she's OK, Z," I touched his arm lightly with my hand, sympathetically, " the telephone lines will be jammed for a while and the streets, too."

"Thanks, J; I appreciate it."

"Who wants a shot? I think we deserve it," Ray answered, shrugging.

Simultaneously, we all said as he ran up the stairs, "Me!"

. Laughter ensued, and by the time everyone made it upstairs, Ray had gotten all the liquor out of the cabinet, and I searched for high ball glasses for each of us and placed them on the , Peter had come back to the kitchen to find Dana something to drink, and I suggested a glass of cool water. He thanked me then grinned at me, silently, determined to take care of his woman.

"It is nice to see Peter serious about someone," I casually mentioned.

"Indeed," Egon agreed as I kissed his cheek adoringly. He grasped my hand and sat down, guiding me on his lap as Winston lined up the five highball glasses as Ray began pouring Vodka into each. The fourth Ghostbuster removed a cigarette from his pack, stuck it in his mouth, and lit it swiftly, then lowered himself into the chair with a loud sigh.

"Man, I am exhausted," Winston complained," not too much, Stantz. My head was pounding this morning from the shots at the bar last night. Wasn't yours?"

Agreeing, Ray poured less Vodka into his glass and his own.

"What did you two do last night," I curiously inquired," You know when you were supposed to be here allowing Egon to come to my apartment."

"Zing," Z chagrined said, causing his and Ray's face to transform to a shade of red while he replied in a resolute voice, "Busted."

"It's of no consequence, my Angel," Egon interjected, halting all of my other inquiries by covering my lips with his own for a second, much to the protestation of the others.

"Yes, my love. Not too much alcohol for you; we have so much to celebrate," I murmured into my lover's left ear and then nibbled it gently. Egon's response was to put his hand on my upper thigh under my skirt and use the other to turn my face to kiss him.

"Don't worry about that, GRRRR," he purred into my ear.

"Hey, hey, keep it clean, Janegon," Winston jokingly cautioned as we kissed.

"Lady and Gentleman, please raise your glasses," Ray commanded and waited until we did so, then toasted, " To the Ghostbusters!"

"To the Ghostbusters!" We all enthusiastically repeated back and clinked our glasses together. I took a sip of the half-full glass and found it went surprisingly smooth down my throat.

"Well, Egon, you defeated the enemy and got the girl," Winston said, laughing.

"I sure did, thank God," he replied, putting his glass down on the table and kissed the top of my head happily.

"Good analysis," Ray eagerly surmised, with the bottle of vodka in his hands, " who's ready for another?"

Lucy

My legs are not particularly long, so I knew it would take forever from Central Park if I walked to the Firehouse.

When I saw the four Ghostbusters by Ecto One with Dana and Janine, grinning and waving at the cheering crowd, I felt my heart swell with pride.

"They did it! Yes," I enthusiastically thought and attempted to gain their attention by yelling and waving.

Although I usually did a decent job pushing my way through a crowd in New York due to years of practice, I didn't get anywhere this time. Sadly, I saw Ecto One, and everyone drove off.

"Damn," I lamented, stomping my foot hard on the concrete. Slowly, I stepped away from the hordes of people, contemplating my next move.

"I have to get to the Firehouse! How?" I pondered. Craftily, I speculated my options, noting that the Subway line may be stopped, taxis unreliable, and wrecked cars in the streets. That's when I saw a lone man on a motorcycle watching from a distance, and an idea.

Ten minutes later, I arrived at the Firehouse and gave him a tip for the ride. Excitedly, I ran to the door and opened it then screamed, " Ray? Are you here? Egon? Winston? Janine?"

Hearing noisy laughter upstairs, I ascended the stairs. As I climbed them, the smell of liquor permeated the air.

"Lucy!?" Ray called as I high-tailed it upstairs.

"You did it!" I gushed as I made it to the landing," You saved us! Thank you! That was some scary shit!"

First, I hugged my brother, then Winston and Egon.

"Where's Peter? I want to congratulate him?"

"Dana's trying to rest. She was possessed, a long story," Ray remarked, and I nodded, then hugged my good friend from Brooklyn. Janine had already informed me that Peter was "head over heels" interested in a striking cellist, and I was happy for him.

"I am so happy to see you back with Egon," I admitted, turning to Janine, "I want to hear all about that surprise, too!"

"Why was there a giant Stay Puft marshmallow man in Manhattan," I demanded my brother, point-blank, with my hands on my hips, " As soon as I saw it, I knew it was from you."

My big brother's chubby face turned red, and he chuckled. Next, he poured next shot.

"To Ray," Winston toasted, and the three of us repeated it and downed our drinks except for Janegon, who were too busy fawning over each other.

"Guys, I need to shove off to ensure my baby is alright," Winston lamented, rubbing his temples with his hands, "Are we done for the day?"

"Yes, go home, Z. Get some rest. We will see you tomorrow afternoon," Ray said, offering his hand to shake as he rose from his seat. Winston grabbed it then shook Egon's hand. He gave Janine and me a side hug and left.

Jangeon continued to kiss for a few more minutes, and then I overheard my friend mumble to her boyfriend, "do you think we can get a taxi?"

"Worth a try," he answered, kissing my right hand with a sly smile. "Let's try it."

"Hold on, Dr. Spengler," his Brooklynite slyly cautioned, unzipping his ghostbusters uniform slowly, revealing his black t-shirt and khaki outfit, "unless you would like to answer questions about Gozer while we celebrate our reunion and your heroism?"

"No, it's just you and me, Janine. I want to focus only on us," Egon promised, and she opened her mouth to kiss him more deeply as a response. Next, Janine removed herself from Dr. Spengler, and he stood to step out of his jumpsuit after taking his black boots off. Egon then quickly put them back on my feet and retired them.

"Looks like it's just you and me, Luce," Ray commented, pouring another shot watching Janegon wander out of the firehouse after they said their goodbyes.

"Ray, I am so proud of you," I admitted, admiringly, " You are awesome. The four of you are unstoppable. The Ghostbusters saved Manhattan!"

He embraced me then thanked me. Sitting next to me, he grabbed the bottle of Tequila and his shot glass. Together, we took shots in celebration.

Egon

After a lengthy delay obtaining a taxi, Janine and I made it to her apartment. Our desire to make love slowly overcame us the closer we made it to her apartment building, and it was horrible to fight when we finally arrived in the elevator.

"I have to have you now. When we get inside your apartment," I told Janine as we made out during the ride up to her floor.

As soon as the door opened and we didn't see her roommate, we fell on the sofa in each other's arms, kissing each other frantically. I pulled back for a second and took some deep breaths, watching how beautiful Janine looked lying on her back. Her blue eyes were playfully dancing with desire and need. She took off my glasses for me and put them on the coffee table.

Janine's lips found mine and pressed tightly against mine for a quick second and nodded. Lying on top of her, I reminded her how long I wanted to make love to her and how much I loved her. She admitted, touching my chest with her hands slowly, attempting to draw a heart.

Then we kissed each other slowly yet fervently while looking each other in the eyes. As we gulped for air, I caressed her face with my index finger lovingly. My lips reached her elegant neck, and I began to pressure her on different spots causing, I hoped, to turn her on. Ignoring my growing desire, I longed to convey the message to her how much I loved her. I took my time discovering every inch of her body from her waist up with my lips, mouth, and hands, producing my penis to harden as it bucked against Janine's thigh on occasion, almost like it had a mind of its own. After ardent kissing, we were both panting heavily.

"Ohhh, my hero," Janine squealed and threw her arms around my neck, " now fuck me hard, Egon 'freaking' Spengler."

"I have a crazy idea," I impulsively announced later. Extremely satisfied, we laid on the sofa, nude, and we were both in and out of sleep.

"What?" Janine questioned, with widened blue eyes.

"Let's go to Las Vegas and elope. We both know we are supposed to be together. Why wait? I want to be your husband and start our lives together."

Unexpectedly, Janine burst into tears, and I became perplexed.

"There is nothing more I want than to be your wife and begin our lives together. " she wept to put her face down on my chest to hide it.

"But," I added, putting my hand on her chin to lift it. Her blue eyes were watery with tears, but she appeared speechless.

"Tell me, my Angel, what is it? Don't you want to…marry," I gulped, feeling both moroseness and panic coming over me?

"Oh, yes, Egon! You poor thing, darling," Janine said, suddenly realizing that I thought she was rejecting me and kissed me ardently.

"I want a wedding with my family, your family, our friends, and my Dad walking me down the aisle," she explained, putting her hands on my chest," I'd marry you in half a second if I didn't have my heart set on a wedding."

Janine searched my eyes hopefully, and I gave her a wide smile. I felt significant relief with her statements.

"I'm so glad to hear that. I- I- hope I didn't mess things up by mentioning marriage. Peter warned me on Monday not to propose because it was too early."

"Peter?"

Next, I explained that after I ensured she went to sleep on Monday, as soon as I got home, I dragged Venkman to the jewelry district to search for an engagement ring, much to his surprise. I also described my determinedness in proposing.

"Oh my dear," she happily gasped and kissed my lips swiftly, "did you?"

"Yes, and I didn't realize how many choices were out there, but that wasn't the point. Peter cautioned not to propose yet because we would be newly reunited if all went well. He was afraid it might "freak you out," in his words. Janine, before you had those promotions, I knew that you were the one for me, but an urgency overcame me," I earnestly admitted, "and I was terrified about your visions coming true."

"I love you, Egon Spengler, so much! I think it is so sweet that you did that," she cooed, hugging me.

" Nothing will come between us ever again, Janine. Not my stupidity, Gozer, whatever. I love you too much to let anything happen again," I promised, whispering in her ear as we embraced. I wrapped my arms around her body tightly.

"Mmmm, Thank God, " she murmured back, then pulled back to give me a long kiss.

"Not eloping," I confirmed after we kissed, and she slid her arms around my neck happily.

"Nope."

"I'd much rather see you in a beautiful wedding dress anyway," I revealed before kissing her. She was beginning to melt in my arms as our kisses became steamier and steamier.

"Ohhh, that was hot. Kiss me again like that, Egon," Janine murmured, with her cheeks flushing from the heat. I covered her mouth with my own and used my tongue to probe hers.

"Would you please assist me in shopping for a ring so I can figure out your 'style,'" I suggested after another feverish kiss.

"I'd love that," she eagerly answered, and then Janine crawled on top of me for a kiss, ending all discussion.
