Sorry for my bad English.
Ideas come and go but I do wonder who in the Warner had the idea of a crossover between RWBY and the Justice League. It is not the first crossover to defy the expectations of the fans. I saw this mostly in games than movies and those things but the ones I see in movies and special from series seemed to fit better in this.
RWBY x Justice League was not so bad but not so good either, and I'm more for the bad side in this matter. I just don't see reason to do something like this with the Justice League. If they wanted to have teenagers, they could have used the Teen Titans or the Young Justice.
But that's just my opnion. To the fic.
-How about you untie me and we can have a nice time, huh Babydoll? -The freak bandit asked, receiving a kick from Koro as an answer.
-That's my nickname for her. -Koro stated. -Choose another.
-I don't think this is what matters here. -Ryan commented.
-Yeah, what matters is who are you guys and why you all attacked us. -Sally asked.
-We are bandits, lady. -The desert bandit answered. -This is what we do.-And are not very good on the job, it seems. -Unicorn commented.
-You guys got luck! -Cried the bandit who wield the claymore.
-Let me cut them! -The crazy-looking rabbit shouts. -Let me cut them! Let me cut them! LET ME CUT THEM! Slice dice! SLI-
*POW!*
A strike on the back of his head broke his crazy monologue about cutting and his consciousness.
-Thank you, Uni. -Sally thanked her partner.
-Oh my! They are members of the Desert Eagles! -Papyrus spoke, inspecting the arm of one of the bandits, noticing the tattoo of an eagle.
-Desert Eagles? -Sally asked.
-They are quite famous around the desert. -Ryan commented.
-I think we must have entered their territory by accident. -Unicorn spoke next.
-You guys know what we must do, right? -Sally asked.
-Go back to the academy and tell Ozpin the mission failed? -Ryan asked.
-How come you managed to enter that academy? -Koro asked.
-This is an option. -Sally's words confused her problematic teammate. -If Professor Papyrus wishes to withdraw from the mission, we must oblige and escort him back to the village where we found him.
-So professor, what will be? -Koro asked.
-Throw through the window all my research? Give up my long search for the tomb? Just forget the mystery about Thantan-Ka? Forfeit my pride as an archeologist? Let a talentless aspirant use my work for his benefit? Ignore hours and hours of research? Let go of my long work-
-Cut it short! -Koro shouted.
-Oh. Hmm, no. I do not wish to withdraw from the mission.
-So we are still in the job. -Sally commented.
Ryan groaned from behind her as he arced his body back. Upon doing so, his eyes happened to spot the open carriage and his eye widened.
-Uh, guys. -He called his teammates. -Give a look at this.
His teammates and the professor took a closer look inside the carriage and on the ceiling of the old vehicle, they notice something.
-Is this a map? -Sally asked seeing the roof of the carriage.
-This seems to be the case. -Dr. Papyrus answered and enter the carriage for a closer look. -Those maps must be how they traveled around the deserts.
-Do you think we could use it to look for the tomb? -Sally asked.
-While will be useful, I am afraid it will be limited assistance. -Papyrus said and look back at the team. -These maps are for the sands of thousands of years. The landscape must have changed through the millennium.
-So it was a useless discovery. -Koro growled.
-Don't be so pessimistic. -Sally said trying to reassure her teammate. -Doctor said it is limited assistance. Despite being limited, still can help us somehow.
-How so? -Ryan asked.
-With this. -Papyrus answered poking a certain place on the map. -This must be the oasis where I booked my room. If we somehow trace the path from the oasis to where we are standing right now, we must have an idea of the location of Thantan-Ka's tomb.
-Really? -The rabbit bandit asked. -Another one? How many of them make it already? Ten?
-Twelve. -The big bandit answered.
-What are you hooligans blabbing about? -Papyrus asked.
-We heard that story before. -The rabbit bandit began. -Some stupid old man looking around the desert for a tomb that is mostly likely destroyed beneath the sands of time. You will be like all the others, will find nothing, and walk back to civilization with your head hanging low in shame!
-Say whatever you want, hooligan. But I swear it will be different this time. -Papyrus exclaimed with a surprising conviction. -I spend five years of research on this and I refuse to return empty-handed. The tomb of the old emperor Thantan-Ka will be found, I swear to my pride as an archeologist!
-Yeah, we heard that before too. -The bomb bandit said.
-Speaking of which, what are we going to do with those freaks? -Koro asked.
-WHO ARE YOU CALLING FREAK!? -The rabbit bandit asked.
Suddenly, a pillar of ice froze the three bandits in place.
-That will keep the chill until we decide what to do. -Koro said.
-They will be okay? -Sally asked.
-Who cares? -Unicorn rhetorically asked.
-But what do we do now? -Sally asked. -We can't just let them freeze there and we can't just tie them up. They may escape and come after us again. But we are too far from the oasis to hand them to the authorities.
-Actually, my dear. -Papyrus started. -We may have to return to the oasis after all.
-What do you mean, Doctor? -Ryan asked.
-The map depicted a path from the oasis to the tomb. -Papyrus answered. -The only way to truly located this route is from the very beginning.
-So, we are going back to where we started? -Koro asked, sounding a little bothered.
-We may have to. -Sally said. -Since a certain someone decides to gobble all our food.
-What? Who is he? Tell who and I will-oh... -Koro started until he realized his team leader was glaring at him.
-I guess we are going back after all. -Ryan muttered.
With the decision made, they put all their luggage back into the car and Papyrus drove back to the oasis, a rope tied around the pillar and pulling the frozen bandits.
Night had fallen on the desert when the team STRK made their way back to the oasis. A complete opposite to the morning which was lively and full of people.
The cabins were all put away for the night and the sellers were all back to their residences. They just left the pillar in front of a police post and explained the situation.
So the authorities left the pillar on the outside, where the ice would not melt given the chill of the desert night.
Except for the fact that the hooded girl had returned to the camping site the team previously used. She did not find her defeated comrades but found a trace of something being pulled. Following the lead, she reached the oasis and found the huge pillar of ice trapping her bandit allies.
The hooded girl pulled an arrow with fire dust. Shooting against the pillar, she watched as the ice melted and after a couple of seconds, the rabbit bandit run around like he was possessed.
-Where's them? Where's them? Once I get my hands on this one-armed freak! I will-
-You d-don't l-like to be c-called a f-freak but c-call others f-freaks? -The big bandit asked, trembling from the cold.
-T-thank you for h-help us. -The bomb bandit said. -I-I take the b-boss was n-not satisfied w-with o-our performance?
-He doesn't want excuses. We must take them down at once or else we are the ones to suffer the consequences. -Said the hooded girl.
-Hey, what's going on? -They heard a voice asks.
They notice the authorities approaching and immediately run from the scene.
-By the way, you will not believe what those guys are up to. -Said the rabbit bandit with a wicked smirk.
End of the chapter.
Just a short chapter to keep this active. Next time the team will try decipher and find their way to the lost tomb.
See you next time!
