I heard another knock on the door moments later and I pulled one brow up as I started to question who would be coming to see me now and then it hit me. It was probably my parents, if it wasn't my parents that I had no idea who else it could be.
"Come in!" I called, and a few seconds later the door opened, and my parents stepped into the room.
"I'll leave you to it" Ginny decided. "I'm going to join Luna and Fleur at the edge of the transfiguration courtyard" she explained.
"I'll see you down there" I told her with a warm smile.
"If you don't mind waiting in the common room for a few minutes" my mother directed to her as she looked over to Ginny. "I'll walk down with you, if you don't mind" she added. "I don't want to get lost" she advised as she pursed her lips nervously.
"Ok" Ginny nodded. "I'll wait for you in the common room" she told her.
"See you down there, Gin" I smiled at her, which made us both smile warmly at each other before she quickly left the room to give me a moment with my parents.
"There she is Daniel" my mother cooed as they both stepped up to me and stood in front of me. "Our little girl" she sang happily.
"I know my love" my father sang happily. "Where did the time go?" he asked teasingly. "It seems like yesterday that we were stood on the platform waving you off for the first time" he added happily. "Now look at you" he said as he looked me up and down proudly.
"Hey!" I exclaimed bashfully.
"Hey!" my mother interjected. "You can't stop us from being sentimental poppet" she stated. "This is a big day in a mother and a daughter's life" she told me.
"And a father's" my father interjected.
"Yes" my mother nodded at this. "The three of us have been through so much-" she continued. "But we have so much to be grateful for" she added. "We have each other, and we have little Harry" she smiled proudly.
"Another little miracle that came into our lives" my father stated with a grin. "We both have so much to be grateful for, two wonderful children" he added.
"How is he?" I questioned.
"Excited to be in a new place" my mother replied. "I think it will be difficult to keep him in one place today" she chuckled.
"Well Hogwarts has a thing of doing that to you" I told them. "So many things and places to find" I chuckled. "But don't worry-" I advised. "I'll give him some tips if he is lucky enough to get his letter" I promised.
"I hope so" my father nodded. "Coming to Hogwarts did so much for you" he stated.
"It did" I agreed with a broad smile. "It really did change my life" I told them fondly.
"Right-" my mother began. "I'll have to pop down in a moment" she reminded me and my father. "So we will have to be quick" she said as she looked over to my father before looking back at me. "Ginny said you have something blue" she added. "And Cedric's parents have given you something new" she continued. "So that leaves something borrowed, and something old" she advised. "So, this is something borrowed" she stated as she took her sliver chain necklace with heart charm off it.
"Oh Mother!" I gasped. This was such a big deal; my mother never took this necklace off. It meant a great deal to her; it was the necklace that my father had given her when they first started dating so the fact that she was willing to let me borrow it meant a great deal for all three of us.
"Come here" she advised, and I turned around, so my back was now to my parents. I watched as my mother's hands came into view as she brought her necklace forward as I moved my hair out of the way slightly, and then I felt her fingers against my skin as she fastened the clasp. I then turned around and smiled at her as I slowly stroked the heart charm with my right hand before I let my hand drop back down.
"And for something old this is off your grandmother Grainger" my father advised as he lifted up a brown medium sized brown box and he opened to reveal a broach with made me gasp. It was in the same of a peacock feather, it was mainly silver, but it was littered with different jewels that cascaded down the feather that made it look like a rainbow due to all the different colours and the way the light hit it. "She thought that this would finish the dress off" my father told me nervously. "May I?" he questioned hopefully.
"Of course," I nodded, I then watched as his face lit up at this and he quickly took the broach out of the box. He then handed my mother the box, who put it into her bag, before she slowly and very carefully attached it to my dress.
"There" he said as he took his hands away from the front of my dress. "Everything is now in place" he continued. "Let's get your down to your beloved" he chuckled happily.
"I'll see you down there" my mother quickly said as she quickly pulled me into a hug, and we shared a brief hug before she kissed my right cheek, and I kissed her left.
"I love you darling" she said as she stepped away from me.
"I love you too" I returned as I watched as he quickly walked across the room and left the room, but not before giving me a very warm look. The room filled with silence as me and my father's gazes locked, and we both smiled at each other happily. This was it! I was minutes away from marrying Cedric, and I couldn't wait. I missed him, and I couldn't wait to be standing at the bottom of the aisle with him becoming Mrs Diggory.
