"Hermione are you ok?" Ginny implored as she stood in front of me.
"I'm just a little rattled" I admitted. "I need a few minutes" I advised. "I can't go to see Cedric like this, he will know something is wrong" I stressed.
"Ok" Ginny nodded. "I'll just tell them to give us a few more minutes" she added.
"That is going worry Cedric" I whined.
"It won't" she dismissed. "I'll tell him that there was an issue with your dress" she decided.
"I don't know if he will believe that" I stated as I pursed my lips together.
"He will" she told me.
"I will explain" Professor McGonagall said kindly which made me look over to her to see that she had a warm and reassuring smile was spreading across her face.
"Thank you" I smiled warmly at her.
"You're welcome" she returned before quickly spinning around and walking back towards the transfiguration court. I then took a couple of deep breaths to steady myself as I felt myself shake slightly; this had really shaken me up. I really couldn't believe that Cormac had decided to do this on our wedding day. I knew that Cedric wasn't going to like the fact that Cormac had been here but at least a full-scale fight hadn't broken out.
"Hermione are you ok?" my father asked as he wrapped his right arm around my shoulders.
"Yeah" I nodded. "I just went into a panic there" I muttered before pursing my lips together. "The last thing me and Cedric needed was for him and Cormac to have a fight" I stated admitting my concerns.
"It wouldn't have come to that" my father dismissed.
"Really?" I questioned incredulously. "They keep fighting" I reminded everyone. "And it is always because Cormac opens his mouth, saying such unbelievable stupid stuff" I continued. "I never did anything to make him act this way" I continued. "Yet he still does" I pressed.
"Hermione-" Ginny started. "He's deluded" she stated. "Don't give him the time of day" she added. "Especially now, it is your wedding day" she continued. "Cormac shouldn't be on your radar" she told me kindly.
"I know" I answered. "But he did that" I stated as I took a couple deeper breaths to steady myself. I knew that Cormac had told Cedric that he had to get me down the aisle, but I never thought that he would be stood waiting for me like that. It actually made me feel sick! I have never done anything to cause Cormac's advances, I have only wanted him to leave me alone and I had told him this numerous times - I just hated that he had never had taken the hint.
"Right" I nodded. "I'm ready" I told everyone. "Let's do this" I said with a smile.
"Ok" Ginny said.
"See you in there" Luna said as Fleur nodded in agreement at this. I then watched as the three of them then walked away and stood in the archway for the courtyard. I smiled at my father, and he linked my left arm and we waited for a few moments as my brother appeared next to Ginny, Luna and Fleur. We then heard a slow but very cheerful piece of music start to play, and I watched as my brother walked down the aisle first, shortly followed by Luna and Fleur. Ginny then gave me a reassuring smile before she too followed the rest down the aisle.
"Come on poppet" my father said as he reached over and gave my left hand a squeeze. "It's our turn" he added happily.
"Ok Father" I answered. Me and my father then took a slow walk to the archway and when we stood in the archway I smiled at the sight before me as we started to walk down the aisle. Chairs had been placed at each side of the aisle; however a mustard-coloured cloth had been put down to pave the way to where Cedric was stood with Professor McGonagall. Everyone stood up and turned to look over to me, however I only saw this out of the corner of my eye as my eyes were fixed on Cedric standing with his back to me, with his groomsmen stood to the right of him.
The marriage march started to play and me and my father started to walk down the aisle slowly, a large grin spread across my face and my stomach started to flutter. I couldn't believe that this was it! It was finally mine and Cedric's wedding day! I had dreamt about this moment for so long and it was now currently overwhelming me. There was even a part of me that just wanted to run down the aisle, but I quickly stopped myself. I didn't want to ruin the moment, it had to be perfect. It was moments like this in which I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear at the fact that Cedric was mine, and I was his and this is how it was going to stay - no matter what anyone said or done - especially Cormac!
As me and my father continued down the aisle, I continued to become overwhelmed by everything, but this was nothing compared to the moment that I watched Cedric turn around and look at me. I watched as his eyes widened in shock as his mouth opened slightly, I wanted to run into his arms even more when I saw his eyes start to water but yet again, I stopped myself. I watched as he used his right hand to wipe his eyes just in time as me and father we just a short distance away from him.
As we stepped up to Cedric my father took my left hand and he offered it to him who took it earnestly, which caused me to step towards Cedric and I stood in front of him. We both then stood in front of Professor McGonagall who smiled proudly at the pair of us. Cedric then dropped my left hand and placed both hands on my hips as I placed both of my hands against his chest and we both smiled lovingly at each other.
"You look so beautiful" Cedric told me as our gazes started to lock.
"You don't look so bad yourself" I teased, which made us both chuckle at each other.
"Are you ready?" we both heard Professor McGonagall say which made us both tear our eyes from each other and look over to her.
"Ready" we both chorused.
"Very well" she smiled happily at the pair of us. Me and Cedric then both looked at each other once more and I felt my stomach flutter once more. This was it! In a few minutes time I would be Mrs Diggory, and this is what I had always wanted. I had wanted this for some time, me and Cedric could now share a long and happy life together as husband and wife – something of which we both couldn't wait to get started.
