Now that the wedding ceremony was over me and Cedric took a step to the side and stood next to the majestic statue that was in the transfiguration courtyard and we stood while photographs were taken. Minutes ticked by as many photos were taken of me and Cedric before different variations with family and friends started to be taken. After the last photo had been taken of me, Cedric and Professor McGonagall Cedric advised that we were going to walk around the long way to the Great Hall while the other guests went straight there. Everyone smiled at this, it was obvious that me and Cedric wanted a few moments together alone as a newly married couple and I could see that everyone understood and afforded us this.
"So-" Cedric started as we started to make our journey hand in hand to the Great Hall in the opposite direction to our guests. "Wife" he smiled proudly.
"Yes?" I chuckled back. "Husband" I winked at him. "That feels so good to say" I admitted.
"I know" he agreed. "Wedding day is finally here, and I married my best friend" he told me lovingly as he gave my left hand a gentle squeeze. "I am walking on cloud nine" he stated as my favourite crooked smile spread across his face.
"Me too" I agreed eagerly.
"If you don't mind me asking-" he started as I noted something change slightly in his eyes.
"Probably not" I advised as I felt my stomach start to flutter at the fact that I was probably going to have to tell Cedric what happened with Cormac shortly.
"But was everything ok this morning?" he questioned, and I gulped. I couldn't believe that Cedric would want to talk about that straight away. I understood why he would ask this, when he was told that I needed a little bit more time it would have made him worry. I just didn't know how he was about to react when I told him the real reason for my delay. "Professor McGonagall said you needed a few more minutes" he advised.
"Oh" I muttered. "That" I added as I pursed my lips together.
"Right?" he said slowly and in concern. "I don't know if I like you reaction to that" he admitted out loud.
"I was just about to talk to you about it" I admitted, deciding not to beat about the bush on this – as it would only make things worse. "It just goes to show how in sync that we are in with each other" I smiled happily.
"Of course," he grinned back. "Is this something that I need I need to be worried about?" he questioned as concern continued to ebb into his eyes.
"No" I stated as I shook my head. "But I don't think you are going to like it" I sang slightly.
"Ok" he nodded. "So, what's was wrong?" he pressed.
"Nothing" I answered. "Now" I quickly added. "Me and my father was walking down-" I started to explain as my mind started to relive what had happened in the fore front of my mind. "And my father just went to check to see if you were all ready" I added.
"Right" he prompted me.
"I was literally on my own for seconds" I stated, and we both stood still, and Cedric looked at me and our gazes locked. "And Cormac appeared from nowhere" I told him, and I winced as I prepared for his reaction.
"Cormac" he said slowly. "What happened?" he urged as he took in a deep breath to no doubt steady himself. I took a deep breath before I started to tell the story, with me not knowing how my husband was about to react.
As I told Cedric what had happened with Cormac he stood there in silence and didn't say anything throughout, I didn't know what was going through his mind as he kept the same blank look on his face. After I had finished telling him everything, he continued to stay silent, which only intensified my concern and panic further.
"Ok" he nodded as he finally broke the silence.
"Are you ok?" I asked him.
"Yes" he muttered. "I don't like him coming here" he confirmed. "But that is not what I want to focus on now, I want to focus on our wedding day" he told me which made relief started to ebb away my concern and panic. "I want to focus on spending this day with my wife" he stated as he stepped forward and rested his forehead against mine, which made a large smile spread across my face.
"I feel the exact same way" I told him, and I watched as a large grin spread across his face. We ended up standing like this for a few seconds before we shared a brief but very loving kiss. As we then broke apart and took each other's hands once more and restarted our journey to the Great Hall I couldn't help but feel elated. Cedric was right, today was for concentrating on each other and by the looks of it this is what the pair of us fully intended to do – no doubt much to Cormac's distain.
