Episode 02- Not So Happy Campers P2
The scene opened up with Chris standing on the dock explaining something to the audience. "Last time on Total Drama Island." He spoke. "Twenty-two campers have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp, then have to face the judgment of their fellow campers."
(Flashback)
"Don't worry it's our first challenge, it shouldn't be that hard." Damien said.
The camera panned to a view of the cliff top as all twenty-two campers were on the cliff in their swimsuits.
"Oh (Bleep)" Damien said.
(End of Flashback)
(Opening Theme)
(The theme started with many cameras and lights shown all around the camp, with a few animals resting on the camera. A sudden cue card is made as the camera goes through the cabin showing the sign Wawanawkawa, the cabins, and the host drinking coffee on his chair.)
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doin fine
(The camera immediately flies up to the cliff and plumits down into the water. Two buoys can be seen, a small one and a big one.)
You guys are on my mind
(Zee is in the water swimming away from a shark who is chasing him. The shark manages to bite off his prosthetic leg. The shark immediately coughs and spits the prosthetic leg out and an already swallowed fish floats onto the surface.)
You asked what I want to be, and I think the answer is plain to see
(Damien and Topher peacefully paddling in their canoes smiling, until both of them saw the floating dead fish. An eagle ends up coming down and swooping the eaten dead fish.)
I wanna be famous
(The eagle flies away into the sunset and drops the fish. The scene pans to Dawn meditating with many animals surrounding her, when the dead fish drops on her. She and the animals scurry away in fear. The camera zooms out to show Duncan laughing at the scene and showing Courtney disapproving of his laughing, making him stop.)
I wanna live close to the sun
(The scene changes to a waterfall, where Leshawna and Heather are fighting with each other on their canoe. Both don't notice the incoming waterfall until it's too late and both girls fall over the edge.)
Well pack your bags, cause I already won
(The scene pans to Harold who is practicing his "mad skills" on a very unstable log a bit down the waterfall. Until Tyler, swinging on a vine accidentally collides with him, both flying off.)
Everything to prove, nothing in my way
(The camera follows Harold and Tyler as they slam into the outhouse. Lindsay, who was inside the outhouse, ends up in the collision forcing the door open.)
I'll get there one day
(The camera moves inside the Mess Hall where Chef has his arm in a pot that is a very weird, unnatural type of green as he smirks. He looks back to a terrified Cameron and Staci who are both tied up. They give each other a scared glance. On the other side of the table, Priya and Lightning are doing arm wrestling. Priya beats Lightning and cheers, while Lightning just looks in annoyance and frustration.)
Cause I wanna be famous
(The camera zooms outside to show Noah trying to read a book while Ella is trying to sing a song for him, greatly annoying him.)
Na nananana nanananana nananananana
(The camera pans to the dock where Alejandro is admiring himself with a mirror. On the other side you can see his reflection, he showed a very dark grin to the camera. Meanwhile in the water a seagull with a net wrapped around his neck floating around. A shark leaps up and eats a fish in midair, the seagull seems in the clear until a tentacle grabs it and takes it under the water.)
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
(The camera pans to Dakota who grabs the camera and gives it a kiss. An intern immediately wipes the mark off. She proceeds to type something into a phone, almost instantly a paparazzi appears and snaps photos of her while Dakota poses in all types of stances.)
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
(Suddenly an unknown man splashes a bucket of water and Dakota in midair, scaring away the paparazzi. Dakota looks up in frustration. The man is none other than Chris Mclean who smirks as the gleam of his smile turns into one of the stars in the night sky. The camera pans down to Brick and Sammy about to share a heartfelt kiss, until Amy interrupts, by glaring at Amy, making both Brick and Sammy embarrassed. The camera zooms out to show the other campers whistling awkwardly for the last few seconds of the song.)
"Ok." Chris announced to the wary campers, who were in their swimwear. Many of the campers looked terrified. "Today's challenge is threefold. Your first task is to jump off this 1000-foot-high cliff into the lake."
"You're joking, right?" Damen asked, glancing around nervously.
"If you look down." The host continued, ignoring Damien's question. "You will see two target areas. The wider area represents the part of the lake that we have stocked with psychotic man-eating sharks. Inside that area is a safe zone, that's your target area which we're pretty sure is shark free."
"Excuse me." Leshawna interrupted.
"For each member of your team that jumps and actually survives." He continued explaining the challenge rules. "There will be a crate of supplies waiting below. Inside each crate are supplies you'll need for the second part of the challenge. Building a hot tub. The team with the best one gets to have a wicked hot tub party tonight. The losers will be sending someone home. Let's see, Killer Bass you're up first."
"So does anyone volunteer?" Priya asked, looking at the height of the cliff. None of the team's budged as they all stared at Priya.
"Don't worry guys, I heard that shows like this use interns as stunt doubles." Zee said, breaking the silence.
(Flashback)
"We need to test the stunts first. You know that!" Chris said to his fellow cohost.
"Do I look like an intern?" Chef replied, he harshly glared at Chris. He was wearing a floatie with swim trunks.
"No, but the ones we had are all in the hospital. Come on just jump it you big chicken. Bawk! Bawk! Bawk!" Chris said, taunting Chef with chicken noises.
"I don't get paid enough for this man." Chef was visibly grumpy. He eventually caved in and jumped off the cliff screaming, he landed outside the safe zone where his expression changed to relief. "Hey, I made it, I made it man!" Chef's expression however changed when he felt something on his leg. "Something just brushed by my foot, hey Chris man something ain't right down here." A shark is revealed to have brushed on his foot as Chef immediately gets out of the water screaming "down boy" as his defense before the shark could reach him.
"Well." Chris jotted some notes down on a piece of paper. "That seems safe enough."
(End of Flashback)
The scene had now transitioned to the present where the Killer Bass were still deciding on their first member. "Who's going first?" Dakota asked her team.
"Ladies first." Duncan replied quickly.
"I'll go." Priya volunteered. "It doesn't seem that bad even if you are jumping into an angry pair of sharks." Priya landed in the safe zone as she gave her team a thumbs up. She then waved to a boat who carried her onto shore.
"She did it. Yeah! Yeah!" Tyler was hype. "I'm next. Cowabunga!" Tyler cried in happiness until he hit a buoy. Priya, who was still on the boat, winced, as he sank down into the ocean.
A montage started of some of the Killer Bass members jumping off the cliff. First was Lightning who screamed his usual "Sha Bam" on his way down. Next was Staci who kept yapping about her grandparents. Next was Dawn who calmly meditated while falling. Finally, was Duncan who remained cross armed with no reaction on his way down.
"So, you gonna jump, bro." Chris told Damien who looked freaked out.
"Are you crazy! No way I'm jumping from that high, I could die!" Damien exclaimed to Chris.
"That's ok dude." Chris' reassurance quickly turned into a taunt. "Unfortunately, that also makes you a chicken." Chris told the boy as he put a chicken hat on his head. "So, you'll have to wear this for the rest of the day."
"Seriously Chris, why do I have to wear this, can't I wear something else." Damien responded.
"Bawk! Bawk! Bawk!" Chris taunted ignoring Damien's request. "That means the chicken path down is that way. Next!" Damien left the scene using an escalator, he was very sad.
Topher was the next to jump. He successfully jumped into the safe zone giving his team a thumbs up, as they cheered.
"Yes!" Harold was excited and inspired by Topher. He screamed in joy until his scream turned to pain. Harold had landed on his kiwis on the water. His teammates and the sharks cringed at his pain as he sank into the water.
"Oh!" Chris said. "Hate to see that happen."
"Ok, Dakota fans, I'm about to jump from this high cliff." Dakota told her "Viewers." "Wish me luck." Dakota screamed all the way down until she hit the safe zone as she smiled at the camera. "Ok paparazzi you can take my picture." There was no sign of any paparazzi in the area.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, we got rid of your paparazzi because they seemed like a disturbance for you, and we don't allow any outside contact. It's called a summer camp for a reason." Chris told the heartbroken girl.
"You're joking right Chris, please tell me?" Dakota panicked.
"Nope, sorry Dakota." Dakota screamed a loud "no!" This scared the birds and the sharks away with her powerful scream. She frowned as she walked back to shore reflecting on what Chris had just told her.
"Excuse me, Chris. I have a medical condition." Chris turned his attention to Courtney.
"What condition?" Chris got curious.
"A condition that prevents me from jumping off cliffs." Courtney lied.
"You can chicken out if you want, but it might end up costing your team the win, and then they'll hate you." Chris warned.
"It's a calculated risk, I've seen the other team and I don't think nine of them will jump." Courtney responded.
"All right, here's your chicken hat." Chris said as he gave the CIT a chicken hat. "So, let's tally up the results, that's nine jumpers and two chickens. Screaming Gophers if you can beat that we'll throw in a pull cart to put your crates on."
"Ok, who's jumping first?" Brick asked the team. The Gophers all just looked at Brick as his smile faded.
"I'm sorry, there's no way I'm doing this." Heather backed away from the challenge.
"But why?" Ella asked.
"Hello, national TV. I'll get my hair wet." Heather explained as if anyone related to her.
"Well if she's not doing it, I'm not doing it." Lindsay told her team, sharing a glance with Heather.
"Oh, you're doing it." Leshawna argued.
"Says who? Heather questioned.
"Says me, I'm not losing this challenge because you got your hair, did you spoiled little daddy's girl." Leshawna said taking a stand for her team as a fight ensued.
"Back off, ghetto glamor, too tight, pants wearing rap star wannabe."
"Mall shopping ponytail wearing teen girl readin, peeking in high school prom queen."
"Well at least I'm popular." Heather's comeback was brutal and shocked everyone on her team.
"You're jumping." Leshawna harshly told Heather.
"Make me." The mean girl wasn't afraid. Leshawna instantly grabbed Heather and threw her off the cliff into the safe zone. She screamed the whole way down. "Leshawna, you are so dead."
"Hey, I threw you into the safe zone didn't I, now I just hope I can hit it too." Leshawna said she successfully landed in the safe zone.
"I thought this was going to be a talent contest.' Lindsay had a nervous tone in her voice.
"Yeah." Chris chuckled for a second. "No!"
Another montage started however it was of the Screaming Gophers jumping instead. First was Lindsay who screamed the whole way down. Sammy was next, she was flapping her arms and screaming. After her came her sister Amy who yelled "break my fall" at her sister implying that she had pushed Sammy off the cliff. Next was Ella who just hummed a little tune while falling, she was very relaxed. Lastly was Alejandro who did a beautiful swan dive into the water below. He was very calm when jumping.
Alejandro had landed in the shark zone; his team was yelling for him to "paddle." so he wouldn't be injured. However, when the sharks approached him, Alejandro was able to use his charm to woo the sharks.
"You wouldn't want to hurt this beautiful body, right chica." Alejandro told the shark who just looked at him with loving eyes. "Now will you please get me to surface?" Alejandro asked. The sharks obediently followed his order and carried him back to his team at shore. Many were shocked.
"I-I can't do it." Brick said feeling very disappointed in himself as Chris gave him the chicken hat. "I'm sorry I let you down team." His teammates taunted him with bawking.
"That is like so lame, right?" Lindsay looked towards Heather.
"Fully lame." Heather agreed. Noah and Cameron were the next to jump.
"My first jump." Cameron said as he gave Zee a high five and jumped with Noah behind him. They both successfully reached the safe zone.
"Ok, campers there's only one camper left, you guys need this jump for the win." Chris announced through his megaphone. "No pressure dude." Zee smiled. "Ok, there's pressure." Zee frowned.
"Just do it Zee, do it." Heather could be heard saying in the crowd of people cheering for Zee to jump. Zee sipped one last soda.
"Where did you even get the soda from?" Chris asked, breaking the silence.
"I have no idea." Zee shrugged. "I was feeling pretty scared."
(Confessional)
Zee- "I won't even be able to have my breakfast soda now, I only had a sip." Zee looked down in shame.
Topher- "Looking at this guy and I'm thinking, he's probably going to not jump."
Sammy- "I don't think he's winning for us."
"Take a good run at it buddy." Chris told a stressed out Zee. "You can do this." Everyone looked at Zee was he gonna jump or be a chicken.
"Come on Zee." Leshawna hoped.
Zee took a step back and sprinted towards the edge where he jumped, shocking everyone. He screamed the whole plummet down. Unfortunately, he landed in the shark zone.
"Look out for the sharks." Brick warned.
Zee had no time to react as the shark grabbed on to him as he tried swimming away. Eventually Zee was able to make it to shore, however a shark had bit his leg. Everyone screamed in shock.
"Chef, get the lawyers ready." Chris whispered to Chef, as he nodded in approval.
"Ah! The shark took his leg, call the ambulance!" Damien was freaking out.
"Aw man, you guys see that, the shark took my leg bruh." Zee was strangely relaxed. "This is a bummer; I really liked that leg too."
"Is he ok?" Dakota asked Priya.
"He's in shock, that has to be it." Priya seemed worried.
"Aw, it was a great leg, probably my favorite." Suddenly the shark spat out Zee's prosthetic leg. "Hah, alright."
"Is Zee a robot?" Cameron questioned.
"And because of Zee, the winners of the contest are the Screaming Gophers." Chris said as his team cheered for Zee's bravery, and they were glad he was safe.
"Yes!" Leshawna pumped her hand in victory.
Confessional:
Zee- "Well if they kick me off now, they'll never know how I lost my leg. I was actually born like this, but when someone asks, I know they'd rather hear a cool story, so yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm safe."
"49 bottles of pop on the wall, 49 bottles of pop," The Gophers sang while pulling their prized pull cart through the beach. "If one of those bottles should happen to fall, 48 bottles of pop on the wall."
For the Killer Bass things weren't going so great. They were going at a slower pace because unlike the Screaming Gophers they had to use their hands and feet to move the crate. "Ow. I think I just got a splinter." Courtney told her team.
"Suck it in girl, we gotta keep moving." Lightning told Courtney as he lifted up her crate and with force set it down. "Sha chicken."
"Hey, I'm the only one with CIT camping experience, you need me." She tried telling her team. Lightning and Priya, both gave her a look.
"32 bottles of pop on the wall, 32 bottles of pop." While the Gophers were singing Lindsay had found a seashore, she held it up to her ear but quickly stopped when she realized she needed to catch up to her team.
"I've gotta take a whiz." Tyler told his team as he set down his crate. The team had to stop and wait for him.
"Great, keep us slowing down." Duncan said.
"Ow!" Courtney exclaimed. She had just slapped a fly into her eye, killing it. "I think something just bit me."
"-should happen to fall. 28 bottles of pop on the wall." The Gophers stop singing when they notice something.
"We've made it too camp." Sammy pointed out.
"You don't need to state the obvious Samey." Amy told her.
"It's been very clear that we've had a cheer!" Ella sang. " But now, we are finally here!
"Quick, let's get building before the other team arrives." Alejandro told his team.
"Finally!" Dakota said upon noticing Tyler walking to his team.
"Can we go now?" Courtney asked the team. "I think my eye is swelling up."
"Remember." Chris clarified the rules with the Gophers who were back at the campgrounds. "You guys can only use your teeth to open the crates. I came up with that one."
"I think I got it open." Zee said he had cracked it open, but his small celebration had ended. "Aw man, I got rope burn on my tongue." Zee's appearance had changed, instead of long pants he was wearing shorts, you could also openly see his prosthetic leg.
"You guys are way behind the other team, like way behind. What's the problem?" A confused Chris asked.
"Because you didn't give us a pull cart." Courtney straight up told Chris, her right eye was badly bruised.
"Oh, my boxers, that's bad." Chris said.
(Confessional)
Damien- "If people are just going to get randomly injured at any point, then I don't want to compete on this show, plain and simple."
Lightning- "Man, Chris should've let Lightning be a team of one. Lightnin's used to carrying his teams back home, but at least those guys can actually play the game, unlike this bunch of losers."
"Hey I got wood in mine. This could be useful for our hot tub" Cameron told his team, holding his wood up.
"I have some tools." Alejandro said, holding up a hammer. "And a pool liner."
"I just wanted to say." Heather started as she and Lindsay had come behind Leshawna. "I didn't mean that about you being a ghetto rap star wannabe, and I love your earrings, they're so pretty."
"Straight up." Leshawna seemed shocked and relieved. "Well, I'm sorry about pushing you off the cliff and all."
"No worries, I needed a push." Heather reassured Leshawna.
"Truce?" Heather asked.
"Yeah, you got it." Both girls gave each other a fist bump.
"Did you mean all that stuff you said to Lafonda back there?" Lindsay asked.
"Leshawna." She corrected. "No, she's going down, and P.S. those are the ugliest earrings I have seen in my life."
"Oh. So, if you hate her, why are you being nice to her?" Lindsay asked.
"You ever seen one of these shows before? Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." Heather stated.
"Oh." Lindsay understood what she was saying. "I'm your friend, right?"
"Oh yeah, for now." Heather walked off leaving a confused Lindsay behind.
As the Gophers were working on their hot tub, the Bass had arrived. "Finally." An exhausted Harold said.
"You're finally here." Brick said, greeting the other team.
"What took you guys so long?" Cameron wondered.
"Someone decided to slow us down." Duncan pointed to Tyler.
"I said I was sorry dude, if a guy has to go, a guy has to go." Tyler responded.
"Oh, what happened to your eye girl?" Leshawna said, pointing out Courtney's swollen eye.
"Nothing, just an allergy." Courtney responded awfully quickly.
"It looks like it's getting worse." Damien informed Courtney who immediately shushed him.
"Shut it, we don't want them to know that." She whispered.
"Guys." Topher told his team. It's not too late, we can still win the challenge." Topher was met with a sleeping Harold, a bored Courtney, and a chatty Staci.
"Did you know that my great, great, great, great, Grandma Bertha invented hot tubs before her bathhouses." Staci chatted.
"No offense, but we don't care." Dakota told her. Staci just frowned.
"We have a hot tub to complete, and we need a project manager." Courtney wanted to have the leadership role. "Since, I've actually been a CIT before, I'm electing myself."
"Where do we begin cyclops?" Duncan asked.
"Open the crates." Courtney pointed her finger directly in Duncan's face, shocking some. "Dawn, Lightning." They both shared a glance. "Start using the tools. We need all the help we can get."
A montage started of both teams building their hot tub. While the Screaming Gophers build was stable, the Killer Bass's was not as it fell down. The Gophers passing technique, by passing down useful tools they needed for their hot tub. Meanwhile Duncan and Tyler fought over a hammer ending with the hammer hitting Harold getting hit in the kiwis, then accidentally slapped by a board from Dawn. The Gophers passed down a bucket of water for their hot tub by using teamwork. For the Bass a small leakage could be seen and with the power of tape it was sealed shut.
It was time for the judging part of the challenge. Chris went to the Gophers' tub first. "This is an awesome hot tub." Chris told the team as they cheered with Zee in the water noticing the celebration.
"Hey yo let me get out of the hot tub and celebrate with you guys." Zee said, starting to step out of the tub.
"No, Zee don't!" Heather exclaimed looking away, Zee shrugged it off, and went back into the water.
The next tub was the Bass, immediately when Chris went to feel it, a spray of water shot out soaking him, then the worst happened, the tub went crumbling down into pieces, with a seagull floating off.
"Well, I think we have a winner here." Chris looked at both teams. "The Screaming Gophers!" The Gophers cheered in excitement as the Bass looked in shame. "Gophers you're safe from elimination and you get to rock this awesome hot tub party for the rest of the summer. Bonus!" Chris added and continued. "Killer Bass, what can I say stinks to be you right now. I'll see your sorry butts at the Bonfire tonight."
"We won." An excited Lindsay said to both Heather and Ella. "We get to stay here for another three days." All three girls cheered.
"Alright, can I join the celebration?" Zee asked. He was butt naked. The girls looked away.
"Zee, please go back into the tub." Ella calmly told him.
"Aw, why won't anyone let me join their celebration?" Zee sadly asked as he faded underwater.
All 22 campers were sitting in the mess hall, and while the Gophers were talking, the Bass had to decide which of their members they wanted to vote out.
"Team." Courtney alerted. "We have to figure out who we're gonna vote off."
"Well, I think it should be, princess or the nerd here." Duncan commented pointing to Damien and Courtney.
"What, why?" Courtney's expression turned from shock to curiosity.
"Because unless I'm mistaken." The bad boy continued. "You two are the only ones here wearing chicken hats and if we have to ever to lift a truck. I'd think our odds would be better with the nerd."
"You guys need me." Courtney tried to reason. "I'm the only one-"
"We know, you've already told us this, so who do you think we should vote off?" Dawn asked.
"What about her?" Courtney asked pointing to Staci who was chatting about her family.
"Yah did you know that my great aunt Petunia invented bowls before her people had to eat on tables." Staci told her team." Staci lied to her team as she continued her rambling, not noticing her team had an entirely different discussion.
"Hey, at least she jumped off the cliff, chicken wing." Duncan defended.
"Shut it." Courtney retaliated.
"Guys, stop arguing, this isn't going to go anywhere." Priya said interfering.
"I've had enough prison food for one day." Duncan said leaving his team. "I'm gonna go have a night."
"You can't do that." Courtney got nervous. "We haven't decided who's going next."
"Hey, guys." Staci said, pointing her team's attention to her. "Did I ever tell you about my great, great, great-" Her team sighed in annoyance.
(Confessional)
Dawn- "I know Staci wants attention. She's never really had a real friend which is why she tries and impresses people with her story, but she needs to know that her chatting won't get her anywhere." Dawn just sighed.
Topher- "I'm starting to question Chris's logic about choosing people for this show."
It was time for elimination, the Killer Bass were all seated ready for their ceremony. "Heard about what happened." Duncan told Staci. "You need to learn how to stop talking." Staci just frowned.
"Killer Bass." Chris started. At camp, marshmallows represent a tasty treat that you enjoy roasting by the fire. At this camp marshmallows represent life. You've all cast your votes and made your decision. There are only ten marshmallows on this plate, when I call your name, come up and claim your marshmallow. The camper who does not receive a marshmallow tonight, must immediately return to the Dock of Shame, to catch the boat of losers, that means you're out of the contest and you can't come back, ever. The first marshmallow goes to Topher…Tyler."
"Woo, yeah!" Tyler cheered. "Place at the table."
Chris continued. "Dawn…Priya…Lightning…Harold."
"Yes." Harold pumped his hand in the air. He was relieved to be safe.
"Dakota…Damien…Duncan. Campers, this is the final marshmallow of the evening." Chris told the remaining two Staci, and Courtney, Staci and Courtney both looked nervous as Chris put on an intense ceremony for both making them nervous. He lifted his finger in the air and pointed it to both, and after some consideration he decided. "Courtney." Courtney scurried to get her marshmallow; she was very relieved.
Staci just looked defeated. "But I thought I was doing so well." She frowned.
"Can't say I'm shocked, heard about you annoying your team with your chatting. Dock of Shame is that way, Staci." Chris gestured Staci to the dock. Staci just walked down the dock with her head down in disappointment. "The rest of you, enjoy your marshmallows, you're all safe for tonight." The camera changed to Staci boarding the Boat of Losers, with no farewell or goodbye.
"To the Screaming Gophers, and for our magnificent achievements." Cameron celebrated, with his team in their hot tub.
"The Screaming Gophers." The team echoed.
"Go Gophers! Go Gophers!" Leshawna started a cheer. Noah and Brick decided to join in. "Go Gophers! Go Gophers! Go! Go! Go Gophers!"
The Killer Bass walked by in shame, however Courtney stopped to say something.
"Are you recording this?" She asked. The camera zoomed in. "Good, they can enjoy their little party all they want, but I'm gonna win this competition and no one's gonna stop me." Courtney seemed very harsh and pointed at the camera as the scene faded to black.
(End Credits)
Authors Note:
Well, the chapter is out much more quickly than I expected, and that's cool.
I can officially confirm that Brick and Sammy are the main couple, they were hinted at in the intro and a bit in the first episode. So, stay tuned, if you want of course.
Lastly, about elimination for Staci. I'll say it plain and simple that I don't like Staci. I find her to be a very annoying character, so when she got into my cast, I knew she was going to be the first boot. Sorry to any fans of her, and for a predictable elimination.
Anyways that's all from me folks. I hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you in the next chapter. Reviews would be helpful. Thank you.
