It was 1am in Hazzard county and everyone was sleeping peacefully. All accept for the Hartshorns...
Corey heard Dennis starting in on Pricilla in the next room over. He quickly got up off the floor and fumbled for the telephone.
"Dennis, what are you doing? Have you flipped out?" Corey heard Pricilla yelling.
He didn't know who to call or what to do.
"Operator get the police over to the Hartshorn farm, I don't know where it's located, but we need the police." Corey whispered.
"Are you little Corey?" Mabel asked.
"Yeah, but please just get the police out here." Corey gently set the receiver down and ran to hide in the closet.
About 15 minutes later, Dennis carried Pricilla into the room that Corey was in.
"Corey?" He called. Then he opened the closet door. "You can't hide from me." He grabbed him and moved him over next to Pricilla, who was unconscious.
Dennis tied them to the bed frame and left the room. Then he took a revolver out of his bed side table drawer and sat in the entry way.
Around 1:45, Rosco and Enos arrived, sirens blaring and lights flashing. Dennis hid behind the door and unlocked it.
"Alright, this is sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane ordering anyone in this house to come out. You're surrounded by the entire Hazzard law force, namely me, Deputy Enos, and Flash!" Rosco snapped into his megaphone.
He and Enos had their guns drawn. Then they both saw a revolver come out the cracked open door. They both shot in the direction of it, but the only one who ended up getting hit was Rosco. Enos ran over to Rosco.
"Sheriff, you alright?" Enos knelt next to him.
Rosco didn't respond though, he was unconscious. Flash got out of the car and started licking his face.
Enos called in on the CB and ordered an ambulance. While Enos was doing this Dennis snuck into his car and sped off. Enos shot at the tires, but it was no use.
Once the ambulance was on it's way, Enos ran into the house and looked around.
"Help!" Corey called from the bedroom.
Enos ran into the bedroom.
"Are you alright?" Enos got down on the floor and untied Corey and Pricilla. "I guess I'd better make it two ambulances." Enos took Corey's hand and led him out to his patrol car.
"Why did he do that?" Corey asked.
"Do what, you mean shoot Rosco?"
"He shot Rosco? I hate him!" Corey buried his face in the seat and cried.
"It'll be okay, don't worry." Enos rushed back into the house and carried Pricilla outside.
Enos called for another ambulance, and soon they both arrived and took Rosco and Pricilla to the hospital.
"I'm gonna take you some place safe to sleep okay?" Enos gave Corey a blanket and started driving.
"There's a few places we could go: Boss Hogg's house, the orphanage..."
"Just any place safe." Corey sighed.
"Boss Hogg might take ya in, but maybe not at this hour. The orphanage will take ya for sure."
"Could I please come to your place?" Corey begged.
"I reckon so." Enos smiled. "Do ya wanna talk about it?"
"Maybe tomorrow." Corey sighed.
Once Enos got Corey to bed, he rushed Lulu over to the hospital so they could both check on Rosco.
"How's the sheriff?" Enos approached a nurse.
"Mr. Coltrane?"
"Yes m'am."
"It seems the bullet went right through his abdomen. It didn't cause any major damage, but a lot of blood was lost."
"Will he be alright?" Lulu sobbed.
"It's hard to tell now. Gunshot wounds can be tricky."
By the next morning, everyone in Hazzard knew about what had happened to Rosco, and that there was an abuser with a revolver floating around Hazzard.
