Four days later, Lulu brought Rosco home from the hospital. Boss Hogg appointed Enos as temporary sheriff, and got Emery Potter to be his temporary deputy.
Enos was sitting in a speed trap, and a legitimately speeding car whizzed by. Enos flipped on the sirens and started the chase. The other party pulled over promptly.
"I'm sorry, I know I was speeding, but..."
"Can I see your driver's license, ma'am?"
"Okay, fine." The woman handed her license to Enos.
"I ain't never seen you around these parts a'fore. Jus' passin' through?" Enos made conversation as he wrote the ticket.
"If everything goes well, I hope to stay." She replied.
"Well, welcome to Hazzard county, then!" Enos grinned as he handed her her ticket.
"Thank you." See took her ticket and license and drove off.
She drove into town, where the Duke boys were over to Rhubottom's picking up some things.
"Excuse me?" She pulled her car up and rolled the window down.
"Yes ma'am?" Luke climbed out of the General and peered in her window.
"Can you tell me where the best hotel is?" She asked.
"We've only got but one hotel, the Hazzard hotel, over that way." Luke pointed.
"Could you please show me some things? I've just gotten here and I don't know my way around."
"I'm waitin' for my cousin to come outta the store. If you wanna wait, I'll show ya whatever ya want."
"Oh, alright, I guess I can wait."
"How long ya plan on stayin' in Hazzard?"
"I'm hoping I can settle down here."
"I didn't catch your name..." Luke started.
"Rose Gilford." She replied quickly.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Miss Gilford, I'm Luke Duke."
Just then Bo came out of the store.
"Ah, here's my cousin now." Luke started. "Hey, Bo come over here, I want you to meet Rose Gilford."
"Howdy ma'am." Bo graced before slipping into the General.
"You wanna come in our car?" Luke asked her.
"Alright." Rose got out of her car and Luke helped her into the General Lee.
Bo gave Luke a strange look, and then he tore off.
"What all do ya wanna see?" Luke asked.
"Just the best places around Hazzard I guess." Rose replied.
After a tour of Hazzard, Bo and Luke dropped Rose off at the hotel and started for home.
"What was all them funny looks fer, Bo?" Luke questioned.
"Don't ya think she's just a might older than you?" Bo commented, seeing as how it was obvious that Rose was around 15 years older than the boys.
"Jus' 'cause I show a lady 'round town, don't mean I'm interested in her." Luke looked out the window.
"Well she sure seemed interested in you." Bo reminded him.
"That don't mean that I reciprocate it. It weren't gonna say nothin', but now that you're doin' this I will: she was built like a linebacker."
"I knew you were gonna say that!" Bo laughed.
"Hopefully she'll jus' leave us alone in the romantic way and be a mighty fine fellow Hazzardite." Luke sighed.
"Lets hope." Bo sighed.
