The group had got back to the hotel to look at the ancient writing. The professor had recommended it, since he had a feeling that it was going to help. So that's where they were, on the second floor of the hotel.

The professor read, "When all four Toads align their eyes, a shroomy temple will arise!"

Olivia girl asked, "Four Toads? Those towers maybe?"

The professor explained (as Luigi was writing this down), "Yes, yes. It is called the Temple of Shrooms! It is said that there was a colossal structure in this desert, built by the Ancient Ones. However, no trace remains. It is a mystery that keeps me and my fellow archaeologists employed!"

Violet breathed, "It is quite a mystery."

The professor read the next one, "Above the desert mushrooms rise, go spark a flame within their eyes."

Mario pointed out, "It sounds like a job for the Firebrand but that might use up too much power."

The professor read the third one, "Find six devout and gather all... The fire spirit they will call!"

Luigi raised a brow, "So we were right, there is a Fire Vellumental in this area."

The professor read the last one, "To meet the Vellumental same... The ritual is like a game... The six devout will back this claim!"

Olivia asked, "What's that supposed to mean?"

Mario admitted, "Not sure. But if I get the powers of the Vellumental, my Firebrand would be super powered."

Luigi was in awe, "Could you imagine? It'd be like you with the fire flower and using the Firebrand."

Violet stated, "Maybe double that power. We wouldn't have any further problems."

Olivia pointed out, "Yeah but all of the Vellumentals that we've met so far have already chosen their user. The Fire Vellumental might've chosen who it will choose."

Mario turned to Luigi and Violet, "That's a good point and I already have the 1,000 Fold Arms."

Luigi stated, "Si, I have the Thunderhand and the Earth Vellumental."

Violet replied, "And I have my Aurora Nine and the Water Vellumental."

The professor turned to Luigi, "Have you wrote down everything?" To that, Luigi nodded. He added, "Thank you, son. But did anyone notice that arrow? The rest of the last one is behind this door." He pointed at the door in question before trying to open it. However, it was locked. He further added, "Crud."

Olivia frowned, "Now what?"

Violet admitted, "Not sure."

Mario stated, "Maybe we could find the key? We didn't check out that lamp store."

Luigi replied, "It's worth a try."

The professor responded, "Let's go then!"

With that, the group headed out. They managed to find the keys in the lamp.

Violet teased, "Anyone wanna make a wish?"

Olivia said, "No thanks, I'm good."

The professor blinked, "I thought it was an attraction."

Luigi explained, "She was joking, professor."

Mario stated, "That was a pretty good joke this time, though. Let's open that door."

The group then headed back to the hotel. They opened the door using the key that they had found.

The professor said, "It appears to depict some kind of ancient ritual. The body movements are quite distinct indeed! It's also oddly specific about who must perform the special incantation. Yes, it says that it must be performed by someone with 'melodic voice' and 'mega pipes'."

Mario thought for a moment, "I wonder if this has anything to do with that mic we found in the desert."

The professor stated, "It just might." He turned to Olivia. He further added, "You up for it?"

Olivia repeated, "Me?!"

Violet praised, "I must agree with the professor! You sing so well, Olivia."

Luigi added, "Oh si, you can!"

Olivia agreed, "Okay, I'll do it!"

The professor smiled, "Time for a singing lesson!"

"H-hear me! Fire, uh, burning... Something, something, aflaaame..."

It took a bit but Olivia was ready to perform the full ritual. The group had got back to where the mic was. Olivia started to sing and do the ritual. Mario, Luigi, and Violet joined in. Suddenly the ground shook and out from the sand came a temple.

The professor gushed, "Oh, what a discovery!"

Mario turned to Olivia, "That was amazing, Olivia!"

Olivia blushed, "Gee thanks."

Luigi stated, "You were wonderful."

Violet replied, "Let's head in then!"

With that, they all headed into the cave. The professor opted to stay outside.

...

As the group looked around in the cave, they started to solve its puzzles. They got to the center of the cave, looking around. All of the sudden, the Fire Vellumental, in origami flew over their heads. It was angry.

Olivia squeaked, "Eep!"

Mario breathed, "Wow, it's like a Phoenix!"

Luigi stated, "I - it's amazing, even though its frightening!"

Violet replied, "It seems out of control, though. I think we're going to have to take it down to calm it down."

Everyone nodded in agreement. After a long fight, the heroes had defeated the Fire Vellumental. This time, Violet went down. Olivia came out of her pocket.

Luigi cried out, "Vi!"

Before he could run over to his girlfriend, they heard a voice.

"I'm...impressed...heroes of the kingdom..."

Both Mario and Luigi turned and saw that it was the Fire Vellumental talking to them.

Mario admitted, "We only did that to bring you out of your trance."

"It worked. You have done your parents proud, both of you."

Luigi perked up, "How did you...?"

"I know a lot, man in green. And with my power shared between you two, you can stop this madman."

By this time, Violet and Olivia came over to them. The Fire Vellumental showed Olivia how to fold herself into her own version. And how to use that power with Mario and Luigi.

Violet blinked, "This is going to be a first. A shared spell circle...?"

Mario turned to her, "Luigi and I are brothers after all."

Olivia asked, "You two ready?"

Luigi admitted, "As we will ever be."

The brothers entered the spell circle. Olivia transformed into the Fire Vellumental. She got the traps out of the way so the group could leave.

Violet smiled, "That works! Nice job, Olivia!"

Olivia blushed as she turned back to normal, "Thanks Violet!"

Mario stated, "C'mon, let's show off to the professor!"

Luigi gushed, "Sounds good to me, fratello!"

With that, they headed out.
