SuperCoffee 2: Electric Boogaloo

A/N Back by popular request. Also it's kinda lame just writing them meeting, it'd be nice to get them together too. Ok so I don't know who it was but they made an edit of Supercorp with like the cards from Love Actually, you know the scene where the guy stands outside Kiera Knightly's front door and confesses his love on these big cards. Well this is kind of inspired by that.

National City, Earth-36 - 2010

Kara could hear the front door of the coffee shop open from the bathroom. Alex was serving and she was taking a well-deserved pee break because it was the middle of the day and the heat was sweltering. And the bathroom had AC. She was just splashing her face with cold water when she heard it. The muffled ding of the bell over the door, and the exact amount of time it took for the door to close again. Lena. Her head shot up out of the sink, and raced out through the kitchen to get behind the counter before Lena could notice she hadn't been there the entire time. Sometimes super speed came in handy.

"What can I get for you today?" She said, smile brightly bursting onto her face as Alex glared at her.

"Did you have to shove me out of the way?" She whispered sarcastically before exiting through to the kitchen for her own turn to stand under the AC.

Kara didn't answer because she was too busy memorising every word to come out of Lena's mouth. The shop was as busy as it could be and the queue forming behind Lena was growing exponentially by the second. Lena smiled putting her hand over Kara's on the counter. Kara tried to hold in her blush but failed rather tragically. "Baby, I'm at work." She said quietly flirting because they hadn't actually established nicknames for each other yet. She brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"Ok fine," Lena relented pulling her hand back to her side of the counter. "My usual please." Kara pulled a small paper bag out from below the counter and started the coffee machine. After she'd rung everything up on the till and placed the lid on Lena's piping hot coffee, she turned back to Lena. The brunette smiled and peaked at the muffin in the bag. "My favourite, thank you." Then she leant over the counter and kissed Kara's cheek. The already formed and raging flush on her cheeks managed to spread even further down as Lena turned and made her exit.

The man that had been behind her in the queue stepped up to the front and scratched his head. "What kind of coffee shop is this that you have to 'pay' for your service?" He said.

"No that's- that's um-" Kara spluttered, trying to work out exactly what Lena was to her. Were they girlfriends yet? They went on a date last week and it was wonderful, but she'd had to rush off to class early. But Lena had been in on her usual days to pick up her coffee and they'd been getting closer, they'd been flirting like mad. But she still didn't know where they stood, she was too scared to ask in case she screwed something up. Then Alex reappeared from the kitchen and saw the frankly desperate scrambling look on her face.

"Were you two at it with the PDA again?" She said bluntly, taking over for Kara and taking the man's order. Kara took a step back and folded her arms, scrunching up her eyebrows.

Then the bell on the shop door went again. "Still no kiss then?" Kelly said when she approached and saw Kara's sad pouty face.

"Nope." She replied putting her chin in her hand, "wait you told her?!" She aimed at Alex who shrugged meaninglessly and handed the man his coffee.

"I'm allowed to talk to my girlfriend, am I not?" She said, ignoring the large line of customers and walking over to Kelly who was leaning against the counter. "Hi babe," she said kissing said girlfriend gently.

"Rao," Kara uttered, rolling her eyes. "Right in front of me!" She was answered by twin 'sorrys' and the they went right back to it. Kara served a few more customers to shorten the line then slapped the counter loudly in front of Alex and made her go back to work. She stomped back into the kitchen and stood under the fan, trying to get a few minutes of cold solitude before she had to go back out there. She pulled out her phone and was about to text Lena when Kelly walked in and stood next to her.

"Don't know what to say huh?" She asked.

Kara nodded, dropping her phone to the worktop and facing her sister's girlfriend. "We had such a great date, but I had to rush off early and she liked to play with my fingers, but this is the third time this week that she's kissed my cheek or found some way to avoid kissing me properly. Am I doing it wrong Kelly? Am I supposed to make a move this time?" Kara couldn't look at her so she put her head in her hands. Most of the time she felt like she was doing all this wrong. She didn't want to screw up this thing with Lena because she liked her so much.

Kelly sighed, "well, maybe you should ask her out on another date? Or to your apartment, that way you guys can have some privacy? But by the looks of things Kara, you are doing everything right." She put a reassuring hand on Kara's arm and squeezed, "I think you just have to let her know that that's what you want."

Later that day...

Kara stood on her front step, too scared to knock. She knew Lena was just on the other side of the door because she could see through it with her x-ray vision. Lena was inside, humming to herself as she cooked dinner. She looked so peaceful, her long dark hair dangling down her back. She was swaying a little to the song her head was singing. Kara almost turned around flew back to the loft, she knew she shouldn't, she could be seen. But sometimes a quick getaway was needed. Kelly's words came back to her, and however annoying Alex's remarks about them were, she was right. They were both right, she just had a make a move.

Her fist bounced off the door three times. Then Kara watched Lena turn around, walk up to the door and then look through the peep hole at her. The door opened. Lena stood inside the house with a smile on her face, "hey Kara, what a nice surprise! What are you doing here? Not that it's not nice to see you, I just thought you'd text you know?" Lena shut herself up when she saw Kara's worried face, her top teeth chewing on her bottom lip.

"Hi." She said, feeling very small. "I just wanted to see you in person, I guess."

"Oh well, that's okay. Come in." Lena gestured down the hall.

"No, wait actually, I had a bit of thing planned for the doorstep, if you don't mind." Kara replied nervously, pushing her glasses further up her nose and taking a step back, looking at her feet. She picked up a pile of large white cards and held them up in front of her. Lena was a little taken aback but she smiled when she saw what was written on the first card.

Lena, you make me smile
every time you pick
up your coffee.

Kara grinned when her eyes connected with Lena's, her shoulders falling, her heartbeat finally calming. She put the first card down on the ground.

I had a lot of fun on
our date last week.

I really like you.
Like a lot.

To me, you are
PERFECT

Kara put the last card down on the ground and looked up at Lena's face. She was smiling too, her hand clapped over her mouth in surprise. "Kara I-I, I don't know what to say," she said, then took a step out of the house and into the street with Kara.

"Just say that you like me too." Kara replied, her gaze dropping down to Lena's lips and back up to her eyes. Lena didn't reply with words, instead she took Kara's face in her palms and kissed her softly, dislodging her glasses a little. When Lena pulled away and saw that her face was a pretty mess, she laughed. "Wow," was all that Kara could utter.

"I like you Kara." Lena uttered like it was the most obvious thing in the world. They kissed again, Kara eventually removing her glasses altogether, until Lena insisted that she come inside rather than standing on the doorstep like a hobo.
