Chapter 3

September 5th. Late evening. Central part of city of Vale.

Alone, she was walking the seemingly infinite streets of city of Vale. Her auditory and visual scanners nearly pushed to their limits as she took in everything around her. Everything, really, everything she saw and heard seemed interesting, no matter how mundane. Be it buildings and their windows. Or colorful signs dotting some of them. Distant rumbles of cars and motorcycles. Some voices. Or even the great array of lamp-posts perfectly aligned to the never-ending streets which crossed with other streets. Creating many corners to round and see what was beyond them. Seemingly tempting you to try and discover what little secrets this city hid from those who didn't bother to explore.

Could there be a treasure, somewhere? A treasure chest? An artifact? Could you even find something like that in a city? Very unlikely, but what if!? She contemplated with a smile etched in her lips. Or rather a grin, and her grin was too wide and stiff, but since she was alone, it mattered none.

"…"

She'd be walking for 3 hours 45 minutes and eleven seconds now. For the most part, city was rather void of any people, but not completely. She didn't spot any she could recognize, but even so, a group of young men, clearly intoxicated from alcohol given they held half-empty bottles in their hands, did approach her.

"Hey there little candy! Couldn't help but notice how delicious ya look."

She greeted them with a big wave of her hand. "Hello! I'd like to know; why did you just call me a "little candy"? Did you mean that as a compliment? Do you want to be friends with me? Or has excessive amounts of alcohol blurred your vision that much? Wait, if you really see me as a candy, why'd you talk to me? Do people really talk with candies? Why?" She started to ramble, and the group of men immediately exchanged looks with one another. "I most certainly am not a candy, and even if I was, I'd be considered huge when compared to, let's say, Skittles!" She continued to prattle. At one point, even suggesting them to go and seek medical attention. She'd even guide them as they seemed to be in the need of it, but somehow, these same men just turned around and left her be.

"Dude, that girl's like, fuckin' crazy or something." One of the men said as they walked away.

She watched them go for a little while, and then turned on her heels. With a grin which wasn't so wide anymore, she continued to explore city of Vale.
