Chapter 4

A week later. Late evening.

She again was walking the streets of Vale. Truth be told, in a relatively short amount of time, she had familiarized herself with this vast city a great deal. She hadn't explored all of it, not yet anyway, but she most certainly knew quite a lot of places. Despite that though, she wanted to know even more places, perhaps all the places, and so she was out here, walking again.

For now, she'd been walking just 5 minutes and 31 seconds. Her eyes not darting about with the same vigor they usually would, since this particular area was well known to her. Still, she did look around on the off chance she'd catch details she hadn't before. That is, until her eyes spotted something. Or rather someone would be more correct.

"Hello, Jaune!" She exclaimed as she shot her hand straight into the air. He turned his head to face her.

"…"

There was a brief moment of silence, before he lifted his hand and greeted her back. "Hi."

With quick strides, she moved closer to him, and soon noticed he was warming up for something. She was quick to calculate an educated guess. "Are you going to run?"

"Yea."

"When I first met you, you were running then too. It seems to me that you're most determined to stay healthy and fit. Is this part of your routine to help yourself become a more capable huntsman?"

He lightly shook his head. "I just like to run, really. Always have."

"Why?" She asked as she ever so slightly tilted her head to a side.

He shrugged. "I just like it, you know. I mean, it feels kinda nice to just move your body forward and think of nothing. Or think about everything if you want to." He answered, and she then pursed her lips and ever so slightly narrowed her eyes. As if she was deep in a thought.

"...Hmm, I'm not sure if I really understand. Maybe if I tried it myself I'd be able to understand it better. Can I join you?" She asked with elevated voice, and he then averted his gaze and scratched the back of his head.

"I uh...sorry. But I usually prefer to run alone."

She blinked, and continued to stare at him.

"Like...today, for example."

She blinked again, and her following smile seemed even more unnatural than it usually was. "Of course! I wish you best of luck then!"

"Thanks. I'll see you around then," He said, and a few moments later, off he ran.

Her smile quickly faded away, and she then resumed her exploration of city of Vale.
