Book 1-Chapter 2

It has been a while since Xander joined the school for mutants and thanks to his job class and the physical fitness tests as well as the X-men training. Xander had gotten a decent amount of muscle and even two levels, which Xander took as a good thing since he didn't really gain any active quests other than the quest to become a true a member of the X-men.
"When did this become so much easier?" Xander asked himself and Albion as he was doing sit-ups on the ground of his room as a wake-up exercise and was now hardly breaking a sweat.
"You have been increasing your physical stats pretty well master, but I am a bit concerned about your job class." Albion said before materializing in the air over Xander, which made him stop for a moment.
"What do you mean?" Xander asked.
"Well, you can get levels without levelling your job class but not having any experience in your job class at all is a bit concerning. Again, its not something to be too concerned about but for the future I'd like to see you have some more experience and skills under your belt." Albion said before flying onto the bed.
"Easier said than done. I don't exactly have access to dungeons or swords or anything." Xander replied before there was a knock at the door, causing him to get up and dressed in a simple shirt and jeans before opening the door to see a familiar face.
"Greetings Xander. I hope I didn't wake you." Mr. Rasputin said with a kind look on his face while dressed in what looked like military fatigues from his homeland.
"I was already awake. So, what do you need Mr. Rasputin?" Xander asked with a bit of confusion since he wasn't really in trouble or anything like that.
"I need you to come with me Xander. Your training and focus have helped you advance in your chance to become a X-Men." Rasputin said, shocking Xander before he quickly followed one of his teachers through the halls with Albion flying behind them as well.
Soon enough they entered the lower floors of the mansion reserved only for the X-Men and made their way into what Rasputin called the danger room. Xander had no clue what the place was outside of just being an insanely giant blue colored room and when he stepped into the room with his teacher, he saw a handful of other students gathered around. Plus, another teacher was standing and waiting for them.
"Took you long enough Peter. I was starting to think you forgot about this little meeting." The teacher said in a coy tone of voice, Xander got a good look at the teacher as well as the information above his head and the heads of the other mutants.
"Xander this is Emma Frost. One of the professors here at the school or at least she was before taking a more administrative position. In any case she is going to be the leader of this team." Peter said confusing Xander for a moment before he looked back at the admittedly stunning woman in a white fur coat reaching her knees along with white jeans and heels.
"Now each of you have been gathered here because you each have made the cut into becoming fulltime rookies in the X-men. However, due to the unexpected number of applicants being approved we have decided to change things up a bit and form two teams that will each be competing for spots on the proper X-men team." Emma said, causing each of the teens to look at each other for a moment.
"Frost and I will be the leaders of this team; this team will also be identified as the Hellions and will be trained properly to bring out the best of every one of you. Now let's start with introductions." Peter said before clearing his throat. "You all know me as Mr. Rasputin but during our training you may refer to me by my codename of Colossus. My power allows me to transform my body into organic steel which grants me superhuman strength and durability."
"I am Emma Frost; I am a telepath a step or two below Xavier's level and I can also transform my body. However, I transform into an organic diamond substance and in that form, I cannot use my mental abilities." Emma explained with a flip of her long blonde hair.
"Alright I guess I'll go first. My name is Angelica Jones, and my power lets me emit microwave radiation which can let me blast things with insane temperatures of heat. I can also use the radiation as a form of radar or echo location but only if I really focus hard and I can also fly." Angelica said with a bit of nervousness in her voice before she looked over to the teen next to her.
"The name's Warren Worthington III and as you can see, I have angel wings. I'm also on the same level of an Olympic athlete and that's all I've got to say." Warren said in a rough sounding voice.
"I'm Alison Blaire. I love singing and music. My power lets me absorb sound and convert it into pure light energy and I can use light to make beams of light or sparkles or whatever else I can think of. But I can't make solid structures out of light either so there's that." Alison said with a casual shrug.
"I am Paul Beaubier and I have superhuman reflexes along with an accelerated metabolism and super speed as well as the ability to fly." Paul said in a business-like tone.
"I'm Tabitha Smith and yes, I know that is the most basic last name ever. My powers work by converting my mental energy into spheres that explode. I can make the explosions blast out as concussive force or I can make them the massive fire-based kind of explosive but the more power I put into a ball the more energy gets drained out of me." Tabitha said before she looked at the last member which was Xander.
"Hi…Um my name is Xander and this little dragon next to me is Albion and my power is a bit weird. But the best way I can explain it is that Albion is my power made manifest and he can release balls of energy from his mouth." Xander explained clumsily.
"Alright now that we've each introduced ourselves, we can begin training as well as going over the schedule. The Hellion's will be training on Monday's, Wednesday, and Friday along with sharing the training room during Sunday's and holidays. Each of you will be creating a call sign that you can use in the field or simply put. You will be coming up with your own codenames. Also, this is the danger room, and your first exercise will be learning how to work together as a team." Emma explained before the teens all suddenly saw the room shift and change.
They all suddenly started falling with the exception of Angelica, Warren, Paul and Albion who started flying while Alison, Tabitha and Xander landed onto some hard ground with a few groans before they noticed that the teachers had vanished.
"As you can see. Peter and I were never actually in the room with all of you and we are instead in the command room of the danger room. We will look on at your progress during this training exercise to see what we are working with." Emma said mentally to each of the teens.
"Damn. We got tricked." Alison said rubbing her sore behind while Tabitha simply got up and dusted herself off. Xander on the other hand got up and looked around to see where exactly they were.
"This is trippy." Xander said as they saw that they were in a park inside of some randomly generated urban city that none of the teens recognized.
"Looks like this is going to be a trail by fire." Paul said as he descended onto the ground.
"Yeah, but I have the feeling that there might be more to this." Xander said before a quest alert appeared in front of him.

Objective: Pass the test of the Danger room!

Xander mentally selected the yes option as everyone got together and tried to figure out where they were.
"Some of us should scout around. If this place has some kind of limit or wall, we need to get to it." Angelica said in a serious tone of voice.
"No problem." Paul said before he got into a runner's pose and sure enough, he vanished from sight and just left behind a strong wind. The only one affected was Alison who had to force her skirt down in a bit of shock which led Xander to actually looking at his teammates.
Angelica is a hot red head and is dressed in a yellow sweater and jeans with comfy sneakers on her feet and a sliver necklace around her neck and small earings.
Warren is the classic rebel in gothic street clothes and boots with his blonde hair having been dyed black for the bangs while the true blonde bleed through in streaks.
Alison is wearing a pink T-shirt and short blue skirt with knee socks and sneakers.
Tabitha has on a yellow shirt stopping just above her lower stomach underneath a leather jacket with jean shorts and sneakers on her feet.
Lastly there was Paul and when he was here, he was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt underneath a velvet vest with black dress pants and brown dress shoes.
"Nothing." Paul said as he quickly returned making Angelica, Xander and Alison jump and yelp a bit in mild shock at how he had just vanished and reappeared out of nowhere but now he has a worried look on his face. "I didn't find a wall, but I did find things more disturbing."
"What do you mean? Also please don't just pop up like that again. I nearly had a heart attack." Angelica said while placing a hand over her chest.
"This place is crawling with zombies." Paul said, which made everyone pause for a moment.
"If that's your idea of a joke-" Tabitha was cut off suddenly when they all heard a loud groaning and surrounding them were several zombies of decaying flesh and clothes walking towards them.
"Any ideas?" Warren asked anyone who was listening before he got into a ready position to fly away.
"There isn't many so maybe we can take them down." Angelica said before gathering radiation into her hands, before sending heat blasts at two of the zombies and properly putting holes through them. "Wait. They aren't solid matter?" Angelica asked in shock before they kept moving towards them without caring about their wounds.
"Fuck this." Warren said before he took to the air and started flying away.
"You dick!" Tabitha shouted before focusing on creating a small bomb of energy and sure enough she created a yellow ball the size of an orange in her hand before sending it towards the zombie's feet which caused a large concussive blast which also kicked up a lot of dust.
"Move it or lose it people!" Tabitha shouted before she started to run north as everyone followed except for Paul who vanished thanks to his superspeed again.
Eventually the group managed to take shelter in the ruins of a small store and now the group consisted of Angelica, Alison, Tabitha, Xander and Albion.
"That was a close one." Albion said as he was perched on a store shelf.
"No kidding." Xander said with a heavy breath from the running they did but Alison and Angelica seemed to be in worse shape, Tabitha however didn't seem winded at all.
"Those zombies must be holograms or something. So, we can't destroy them, which means that destroying zombies probably isn't the goal here." Angelica theorized after finally catching her breath.
"I think the goal might be getting us to work better as a team. The problem is that we can't do that when we are down two members." Xander said back.
"So, we just have to find them both and get them to work with us. Even if Warren and Paul are jerks for just leaving us here." Alison said as she crossed her arms.
"Warren is a dick, but I don't think that Paul meant to leave us. I think he might have just kicked up his superspeed too much and we ended up getting separated. For all we know he could be constantly getting swarmed by zombies while trying to find where we are hiding." Tabitha said back before Angelica went towards the door.
"I might not have superspeed, but I can fly pretty fast so, I'll go out and look for him. You guys stay here in the meantime." Angelica said before Tabitha spoke up.
"Why are you suddenly trying to act like a hero?" Tabitha asked, making Angelica look back at her.
"Excuse me?" Angelica asked with a bit of confusion.
"Since we got in this mess you've been trying to act like the leader, and I don't get why? Nobody put you in charge or anything." Tabitha said as Angelica looked down for a moment.
"Sorry. I'm not trying to boss anyone around. I was just doing what I thought I should." Angelica said before she walked out of the store and took to the sky.
"Don't you think that was a bit unnecessary?" Xander asked Tabitha who shrugged.
"What's unnecessary is the fact that she just decided to act like the boss of us and last time I checked I don't take commands from her or anyone else other than our teachers." Tabitha replied.
"That's a bit unfair. Angelica wasn't even being bossy or anything." Alison commented while Tabitha scoffed.
"It's not what she said its how she said it. If you don't get that, then I don't know what kind of a rock you've been living under." Tabitha said before Xander made his way to the door. "Where are you going?"
"I'm going after Angelica and helping her find our teammates. Hopefully you can cool off and stop getting angry for no reason. Let's go Albion." Xander said as Albion flew by towards Xander as the both of them left the store and started walking the streets.
"Master I am on your side, but wouldn't it have been a safer idea to have the other girl come with us or perhaps staying in that hiding place since the monsters here are immune to damage?" Albion asked.
"It probably would have been safer, but I didn't like how Angelica looked when she left. She was a bit hurt by Tabitha words and I want to make sure she is ok." Xander said while keeping an eye on the skies. "She wasn't kidding about flying fast."
"Master, we have zombies." Albion said alerting Xander to the nearby undead heading towards him which made Xander start running past them while trying to find any of his team members that left and sure enough he found one of them.
"Warren!" Xander shouted when he saw the winged mutant standing on top of a building roof, which caused Warren to look down and see Xander.
"Fuck off!" Warren shouted back before Xander narrowed his eyes and made his way into the building and soon enough he made his way to the roof and saw Warren still standing in place.
"Warren what's your issue dude? Were supposed to be working together." Xander said before Warren scoffed.
"Why would I work with people I don't know? I don't care what you say or do. I'm not leaving this damn spot until the teachers shut off this damn training session." Warren said in a sour tone of voice.
"Master, I believe that Warren might be scared of the undead." Albion said, which made Warren look back at the duo.
"I ain't scared of shit you flying gecko!" Warren shouted in anger before turning back around and Xander wondered what he could or even should say right now.
"Do you know that Angelica is out looking for you and Paul? We can't get through this if everyone goes off on their own so at the very least can't you work with us until this is over? Xander asked as Warren took a deep breath.
"Fine. But after this shit is over, I'm not going to be apart of some pansy ass team cheer routine and shit." Warren said before Xander, Warren and Albion noticed Angelica and Paul flying towards them.
"Xander what are you doing out here?" Angelica asked as she lowered herself onto the roof.
"I came out here looking for you because I wanted to make sure that you were okay after the stuff that Tabitha was saying." Xander said before looking over at Paul who also landed on the roof. "Where did you go?"
"I was running from the undead and I forgot to consider where the rest of you would go to, and I ended up getting a bit lost. This place goes on for miles and seemingly has no end to it." Paul replied calmly.
"Also, the undead are multiplying somehow." Angelica said before the group noticed that a large horde of undead had gathered around the building.
"Well let's not talk about it here. Let's move towards the others." Paul suggested before he grabbed hold of Xander and took to the air along with Warren and Angelica in the nick of time since the undead had made their way to the rooftop and Xander could have sworn that he saw Warren have a scared expression on his face.
Soon enough they got back together with Alison and Tabitha and the group found themselves surrounded once again as the store building had now been surrounded by numerous zombies.
"The teachers wouldn't actually hurt us, right?" Alison asked with clear fear in her voice as the undead seemed to stop moving when they got within a certain range, as if they were waiting for the teams to make a move.
"I don't think we should take the chance. They wouldn't put us through this if they thought we wouldn't take this seriously. So, I think we should come up with an actual plan to get out of this alive." Xander said honestly while looking out one of the store windows.
"I agree. We are cut off and surrounded on all sides by enemy forces. So, the question is, how do we handle this?" Paul asked before Angelica spoke up.
"Zombies are literally braindead monsters but in swarms they are practically unstoppable. Ultimately, I am not seeing a way out of this other than trying to just fight off as many monsters as we can." Angelica said with her hand on her chin as she thought about what she was saying and nobody else seemed to have a plan.
"So, an all-out attack. What do you think Albion?" Xander asked his partner.
"I think it's an idea that will bring us glory among our tutors." Albion said which made Xander smile.
"Alright I'm in." Xander said to Angelica.
"Same." Paul said as well.
"I can't think of a better idea so its worth a shot at least." Tabitha said in a weak tone of voice.
"If we are actually going to die here, I'm going to haunt this place." Warren said with his arms crossed.
"Zombies make a lot of noise so; I can absorb their sounds and fight with a bunch of light beams." Alison said before the group stepped outside of the store and faced the horde of monsters.
"Bring it on you undead monsters! We will not flee in the face of danger and instead we will come out victorious!" Albion shouted proudly and for a moment nothing happened before all the zombies suddenly vanished and the world around them shattered and returned to the normal danger room.
"It's over?" Alison asked as the real Peter and Emma walked into the danger room.
"Congratulations students. You all passed by the skin of your teeth." Emma said with a smile on her face. "Of course, that means we have a lot of work to do on team work of course."
Alison let out a massive breath before sitting down onto the ground while Angelica did a similar thing.

"Sorry for the scare tactics young ones. Emma was quite insistent on putting you all in the proper mindset when facing danger." Peter said in an apologetic tone of voice. Thankfully the newly formed Hellions team were allowed to rest for the rest of the day with no issue.
