Chapter 12

"Yu, did Klaus or Julian talk to you about your behavior again?" I asked, bending down so that I was looking him in the eyes.

"Yeah," Yu said, looking away from me. I sighed and stood up, to my full height. I wanted to kill my friends; trying to change my son's behavior was not acceptable. I held my hand out to my oldest son, while I held Sakyo on my hip.

"You don't have to listen to either Julian or Klaus. As it is, they have no right to try and correct your behavior. And when I get my hands on them, they will wish they had never done that," I said as we followed after the Konzern family butler to a black sedan, parked outside the hospital entrance.

"Please do not worry, Ms. Hagane," the butler said as he opened the car door for us. "Ms. Sophie and Ms. Madoka have already chewed him out. I believe that's how the kids these days say." It was then that I realized it was the head butler from the Frankfurt estate.

"I'm still going to chew them out," I said as I fastened Sakyo into his booster seat. "My sons are just perfect the way they are."

"Very well, Ms. Hagane," the butler said, holding up his cell phone. "May I warn them of the impending lecture?"

"No, that takes away all my fun. You can ask Tsubasa what I'm like when I go into lecture mode." I said blowing hot air on my hands. It might not be as cold as Russia but it was still cold out and Tsubasa had forgotten my jacket, hat and gloves at home, not thinking that I would be going home today.

"Oh no, mama's lectures are worse than Tsubasa's. They're more painful too," Yu said shivering in fear at the memory of the last time he had to sit through one of my lectures.

I looked over at him and said, "Don't think I have forgotten about that little stunt you pulled back in Germany." Yu's face lost all color.

"And that maxed out Aki's limit of lectures for the day," Tsubasa said, holding up one of my notes.

I asked, "How long have you been holding onto this?" as I read the date written on the note.

"You had your memories to get you through that hell hole, while I had that note to remind me that you were waiting at home for me. When it got too much I would pull that out and read it over running my fingers over the ink, always stopping on the I love you Basa…" Tsubasa said, looking over his shoulder at me from his seat in the front. I sighed before pulling my locket out from under the collar of my dress, I opened it and removed the picture of my parents and brothers to pull out the note that was my life line.

"What's that, Mommy?" Yu asked.

"This is a secret between Mama and Daddy," I whispered as I slid the paper into Tsubasa's waiting hand.

"What does it say, Auntie Odette?" Sakyo asked, looking up at me in awe.

"If I told you, then it wouldn't be a secret anymore, would it?" I said, tapping him on his nose as he thought about what I had just said.

"But I can keep a secret," Sakyo whispered, pulling on my arm.

"Sakie, I can't tell you because it's something very special for me and Uncle Tsubasa," I said, looking down at him.

"The note can't be read anymore because I wrote it back when I was twelve. Your Auntie Odette could probably tell you what it says off the top of her head, but I don't remember what I wrote," Tsubasa said, coming to my rescue, even though I knew it was a lie. The handwriting on that note was still in perfect condition, seeing as I took every step possible to protect it.

Sakyo looked up at me in wonder and asked, "What does it say, Auntie Odette?" I tapped Tsubasa's shoulder wanting the note back so that I could read the note.

"This isn't a note that Uncle Tsubasa wrote to me, it is a note that I wrote to him. It goes: Do you love me? Do you wanna be my friend? And if you do well then don't be afraid to take me by the hand if you want to. I think this is how love goes. Check yes or no. I have this feeling when I'm with you as if I'm looking in on a picture of the future, you and me together forever, and if you don't take that first step than I will, so don't be surprised when we next meet if I kiss you. Love Aki Hagane…I held onto this note from the day I was first kidnapped to every day following waking up from my coma." I said reading the words painstakingly written as neatly as I possibly could back than. I could see that Tsubasa had a faint blush covering the tips of his ears.

"Did you kiss Uncle Tsubasa the next time you saw him?" Sakyo asked, pulling on my arm again.

"No, I didn't Sakie. The next time I saw your uncle Tsubasa, I was in shock to the point that I had just shut down. I wasn't talking and it didn't seem like I was there. I would say anything and if it wasn't for Uncle Tsubasa than I wouldn't be here today." I said folding the note up again and handed it back to Tsubasa. Sakyo was about to ask me more questions about the note when we pulled up outside of our apartment building. Yu opened the door, he was also holding it open for me as I carried Sakyo out.

"This is your new home, Sakie," I said, looking up at our apartment building.

"It looks like the building that me and mama used to live in. Auntie Odette why did those people take you but killed my mama?" Sakyo said from his spot on my hip. I sighed before making my way into the building, not really sure how to word my thoughts on why Galaxy Nexus kidnapped me but killed Anja.

"To tell you the truth, I don't know Sakyo...I wish it was the opposite, but everything happens for a reason...and maybe your Mama's time was done and you were meant to be with me and Uncle Tsubasa...but I can't really explain it sweetie." I said running my hand through his hair as he cried into my shoulder. I wasn't sure if this was the first time that Sakyo had gotten any form of answers on his questions about what happened with his mother.

"But why did it have to be Mama…what did she do that was wrong?" Sakyo asked, tightening his hold on my shoulders. I sat on the bench on the pathway into our apartment building, just letting him cry out all his worries and concerns.

"Sakyo, your mom was someone who was amazing and extraordinary. She was smart, beautiful, and strong woman who would never let anyone get to her. And yeah, I'm going to miss her because she wasn't just my good friend, but she was like a sister to me. She was the first person to comfort me when I first met your mother and Aunt Ada." I said, pushing his hair out of his face while I wiped away his tears.

"What was Mama like when she was younger?" Sakyo asked looking up at me with his big red and slightly puffy eyes. I started running my fingers through his hair while telling him as many stories as I could about his mother. Before long I was carrying the sleeping redhead into our apartment where I was then assaulted by all our friends. They started crowding me the minute I entered the apartment, I had enough time to hand Sakyo off to Tsubasa before catching Kenta and Tithi in my arms, as they tried to hug me. I watched as Tsubasa took Sakyo off to what was once our office, before I turned to everyone who was asking so many questions or that was before Kyoya shut everyone up with a single threat.

"Thank you Kyoya…it's rare to see you at our apartment. Also my youngest is currently sleeping so please keep it down. Now if you will excuse me I am going to take a nap." I said moving over to the couch and laying down on my stomach with a pillow under my head. I coughed a few times before curling up on the sofa to get some more sleep.
