Chapter 13
When I woke up, I was still laying on the sofa a thick fleece blanket draped over me. Tsubasa was sitting on the other sofa reading one of his books, and the apartment was quiet; far too quiet for both Yu and Sakyo.
"Where are the boys?" I asked sitting up on the sofa not noticing that both Yu and Sakyo were sleeping on the floor next to me.
"Look down." Tsubasa said not even looking up from his book. I quickly looked down at the floor only to see that my boys were curled up next to each other sleeping. Yu was snoring quietly while Sakyo lay next to him clutching his teddy bear. I stepped over Yu before making my way over to my fiancé.
"What would you like for dinner Love?" I asked wrapping my arms around his shoulders so that I could get a look at what he was reading.
"How about a salad and some pasta?" Tsubasa asked closing his book as he leaned back against me and the arm of the sofa. I smiled at him before leaning down and kissing his lips. This was probably going to be one of the few times that we would get to have these moments.
"I'll make the pasta if you want to put together the salad." I said pulling away from Tsubasa, who looked surprisingly upset that I had stopped kissing him.
"Okay, but we are letting them sleep." Tsubasa said putting his book down on the coffee table before getting up from his spot on the sofa.
"Agreed, what kind of pasta would you like?" I asked reach up to look through our cupboards, only to find simple elbow macaroni. I pulled the box down and set it on the counter before searching around for any other pasta we had. I however couldn't find any.
"I haven't really been able to go shopping, while you were gone…I was searching for you non stop and thought the best place for Yu was out training; so he wouldn't worry about you." Tsubasa said wrapping his arms around my shoulders. I looked up at him before, reaching under the sink and pulled out my box of recipes, looking for something I could make with elbow macaroni. I however found nothing, after all elbow macaroni is a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine.
"I got nothing." I said after taking three looks at the cards in my box.
"What me to order a vegetarian pizza?" Tsubasa asked reaching for our land line.
"Yes, but we are making the salad to go along with it." I said pointing up at him. So, while Tsubasa was ordering us a large half vegetarian half pepperoni pizza, I was making us a colorful salad with a light honey citrus vinaigrette salad dressing.
"Do you want any cheese?" I asked reaching for the cheese grater to the right of me.
"Yes, please my lovely swan." He said pulling out his wallet so he could pay the delivery man, just as the door bell rang, which woke up the two boys.
"Mama, what's for dinner?" Yu asked coming into the room, rubbing his eyes.
"Neither me or you dad have been shopping since before we left for Germany so all we currently have is elbow macaroni, which might be something I picked up some time ago…we ordered a pizza. Half vegetarian, and half pepperoni. There is also a salad." I said trying to hold off on telling Yu that we had ordered a pizza, anytime we ordered a pizza he would start running around happy, because he loved pizza so much. Or at least that's how he would usually act.
"Cool mama, also I've been meaning to ask, when I see that new therapist would it be alright for, we come up with a new schedule. I think I'm getting too old to be taking baths, like Sakyo." Yu said, sounding like he had grown up a lot since I was taken the second time.
"I don't see why not. How have you been doing since September? No episodes of anxiety." I said think over my oldest question. This was the first time since waking up in the hospital that I got a chance to actually talk with Yu.
"After you were taken, I had to go in for a few days…my anxiety got pretty intense, but the new medication they put me on is helping." Yu said pulling four plates out of the cupboard along with silverware and glasses. I looked over at Sakyo to see that he was folding the blankets that had been covering me and the two boys, laying them neatly on the back of the sofas.
"Sakie do you like pizza?" I asked moving to the doorway between the kitchen and living room.
"Yes…um my mama would she be sad if…never mind. What kind of pizza is it?" Sakyo said slowly making his way into the kitchen a blanket still in his hand. And it was clear to me that he had a question on his mind, but he was clearly not ready to ask it.
"We got a large half vegetarian and half pepperoni. I don't know what you like but I know that both Tsubasa and Yu like pepperoni, and while I'm like your mama was." I said squatting down in front of the little red head. It was clearly to me that Sakyo was still affected by his mother's death, but I would wait until he came to me. I took the blanket from him and quickly folded the thick soft fabric, before laying it across Sakyo's waiting arms.
"Okay go put that with the rest of the blankets and than both of you go wash your hands. Yu show Sakie to the half bath, and help him please." I said pushing my boys into action. Sakyo put the blanket down on the arm of the sofa, before turning to Yu, who took his hand and pulled him over to our half bath. I quickly set the table with me in between the two boys, across from Tsubasa. I pulled out the orange juice and poured two glasses for the boys while I poured seltzer water for both me and Tsubasa, just as Tsubasa brought the large box into the kitchen.
"The pizza has arrived; where are the boys?" Tsubasa said laying the box next to the salad bowl.
"I sent them to wash their hands." I said dishing out a good helping of salad for the boys. I was about to dish out a helping for me and Tsubasa when I heard the pearls of laughter from the half bath. When I looked around the corner, I say the boys playing in the water splashing each other, right away I reached for my cell phone so that I could take some pictures or that was before Tsubasa rushed in to stop the boys. Not like it worked, I had spent 15 minutes taking pictures of the three before stepping in to stop them.
"Yu, Sakie time for dinner. Go get into some dry clothes, you too Tsubasa." I said taking the towel off of the bar so that I could pat dry my fiancée, who was dripping wet only after 15 minutes.
"Hey mama can we wear our pajamas to the table?" Yu asked over his shoulder as he pushed Sakyo towards their rooms. I thought about it for a second before nodding my head in confirmation. Before heading with Tsubasa to my room so that I could also get change into my pajamas, turning our pizza night into pizza and a movie. I was the first person out after getting change so I put in Yu's favorite movie, while the boys were getting ready. I was moving the food from the kitchen table to our coffee table in front of our main couch in the living room, when Tsubasa came out of our room a book in hand. That was how he normal spent movie night, reading a book while I curled up next to him half asleep.
"Aki, my lovely swan are you okay? You did just get out of the hospital this afternoon." Tsubasa asked wrapping his arms around my waist before laying his head on my shoulder as I came to a stop, the bowl of salad still in my hand. I sighed before looking over my shoulder at him, the lines which had became etched into his face when ever Tsubasa started to worry, were enough to make me stop in my tracks.
"We just have to stop Galaxy Nexus, then we can get married. I've actually already have a dress and our colors are an icy blueish white and a lovely purple, center pieces are swan and eagle feathers…" I was saying until two small pairs of hands wrapped around my legs. I would have loved to look at my boys but Tsubasa pulled me into a kiss, which was odd because normally he wouldn't do such a thing in front of the kids, or other people for your information.
"I don't care about weddings plans, all I care about is you my lovely swan. You are my sunshine, and greatest love." Tsubasa said, before kissing the tip of my nose. I was going to say something, when Sakie beat me to it.
"Auntie Odette are you and Uncle Tsubasa going to be like a mommy and daddy all night?" Sakie said pulling my shorts almost down, if not for the fact that I had them tied back with a old shoe string, after being held captive for a second time followed by another stent in the hospital, I had lost some weight putting me lighter than both Yu and Kenta.
"Boys go eat your salads, while we get the movie playing." Tsubasa said letting go of me. I smiled sadly before letting the boys pull me over to the couch. I was out like a light half way through, but I was at total peace because I was with my family.
