The moon basked the rooftop in a beautiful light as Palladium and Samara danced slowly.
"This is nice…" Samara whispered.
"It sure is." Palladium hummed. "Everything is perfect isn't it?"
"Yes, finally."
"I love you so very much." The elf said.
He cupped the fairy's cheek with his hand and stared in her eyes. A flash of blue… A frown etched in his face.
"Something wrong my love?"
Palladium stepped back.
"Celena, where is Samara?"
The fairy laughed and pretended to be disappointed. A wave of her hand and her appearance changed.
"And here I thought we were having a romantic date." She said. "Oh well…"
It all happened too quick. Celena suddenly lunged towards him and before he knew it a sharp pain spread in his chest. He gasped for air.
Celena laughed wickedly as she ripped the elfs heart from his chest.
A scream pierced through the silent bedroom as Palladium shot up. His heart pounded violently in his chest, indicating that it was still there. It took a good five minutes for the elf to calm down a bit, no longer gasping for breath but long steady breathing.
He put his head in trembling hands, trying to comprehend what just had happened. He stepped out of bed and walked, a bit unsteady, to the bathroom. Some water would do him good. He was just about to put the glass to his lips when his heart got another fright from knocking on his door.
Palladium was actually concidering to not open the door until he heard a hushed voice.
"Palladium open the damn door!" Wizkiz hissed. "What is going on?"
The elf opened and the leprachaun quickly walked inside.
"Are you alright?" He immediately asked as Palladium closed the door and put on the lights. "I heard you scream your lungs out lad!"
"I'm sorry Wizgiz, it was just a nightmare." Palladium said trying to sound confident.
"If your voice wouldn't quiver that much and your face didn't look like you just stared death in the face I might have believed you." Wizgiz said worried. "Now sit down before you collapse."
Palladium saw that he had no choice and sat in his chair. Wizgiz hopped on the small couch and looked at his friend.
"It really was just a nightmare." Palladium said now with a more stronger voice.
"Than it must have been a horrible one." Wizgiz said. "Tell me."
Palladium felt his face go red. "T'was nothing…"
"We've been down this road before lad, you promised me…"
"Yes yes, you're right, just…don't laugh please."
Palladium sighed. "I dreamt that Celena tricked me and…ripped my heart out of my chest."
"My goodness lad, of course that would get you riled up!" Wizgiz said with big eyes. "And it's not that weird that you get these nightmares considering what you've been through last year."
His shocked face turned into a pondering one.
"If I am not mistaken, you told me that Darkar actually did something to your heart?" He asked carefully.
Palladium nodded. "He…"
His breath got caught in his throat.
"He tried to…to take all the light magic out of it." "To destroy the love…"
He stopped talking when tears slowly fell down his cheeks. Wizgiz snapped his fingers and the vase of flowers standing on the table turned into a cup of tea.
"Here you go lad." He said kindly.
Palladium thanked him and quickly dried his tears.
"I am sorry to have woken you up." He said after a small sip of tea.
"Nonesense, that is what friends are for." Wizgiz said. "Just be thankful that I am sleeping in the room next to yours and not Griselda."
Palladium, who had just wanted to take another sip, spat it back out.
"Oh thankful indeed." He said with a frown.
He yawned.
"I came across her during the night once…" Wizgiz said dreadful. "Nearly woke up the whole staff thinking the witches had infiltrated the school."
Palladium drank the rest of his tea.
"I can imagine, poor Griselda is not the fairest of them all I'm afraid."
Another yawn escaped his mouth.
"Imagine that with a thick green facecream popping up in the dark." Wizgiz said with a grin.
The elf laughed and yawned yet again. Palladium stared at his empty cup with a frown.
"Wizgiz did you…" He had to stop mid sentence and yawned again.
"Ready to get back to bed lad?"
"You little imp!" The elf said with his voice thick of sleep.
"It's your own recipe."
Wizgiz guided Palladium back to his bed and the second his head touched the pillow, the elf was fast asleep.
"Nice dreams lad." Wizgiz whispered before putting the lights out and closing the door.
