Chapter 4
Any other criminals the two came across were mostly the same. Either a mugger or a purse snatcher was easy for Batwing. However, they soon came across thugs with guns trying to rob a jewelry store.
"Okay, these thugs are armed. Batwing, stay in the Batmobile for this one. You can help me with this." Batgirl said as she pushed a button and his seat elevated him up to a small dome where he saw crosshairs behind what appeared to be some kind of turret.
"What's this?" he asked.
"It's the Batmobile's Suppression Turret. If Batman ever has to deal with unruly or runaway crooks, he uses this to knock them down." Batgirl said.
"So, you go in there and I use this if any crooks come outside?" Batwing asked.
"Yes. Push the red button to launch a shot. Here we go." Batgirl said before she ran in and started fighting crooks. Batwing watched carefully as the crooks went flying thanks to her kicks and throws. However, she failed to notice one crook running out with a bag of jewels. Batwing saw him and took careful aim. Once he was sure he had it right, he pushed the button and shot a non-lethal round at him, knocking him down and knocking him silly. He dropped the bag of jewelry, which Batgirl got once she came out.
"Nice job!" Batgirl said with a thumbs-up.
Roger smiled.
For the next hour, the two of them continued their patrol, repeating the same practices.
"You have made an excellent sidekick, Batwing! Just wait until your mom and dad hear about this!" Batgirl said.
"I can't wait!" Batwing said.
