Third POV

It was morning. A ray of sunshine shone through the entrance of the cave lightning up the cave inside waking up the girl who decided to stay here for the night.

Anne POV

It's morning already? I got up rubbed the sleep off my eyes. The cave looked different with the light, it looked slightly likable. The bugs from last night had gone off further into the darkness of the cave giving me slight relief. I walked outside into the sunlight while stretching my arms.

I never really got to see my surroundings. For now all I could see was the huge forest more of a rainforest, with suspiciously huge bugs roaming around that could probably kill me...Great. I wonder where Sasha and Marcy is. In theory, they also should also be transported here. We must have been separated when we teleported.

I took out the music box and stared at it. This was what brought me here, and yes, I was the one who took it but I wasn't happy about. But it was for one of my best friends and that's what friends do... right?

I sighed and went back to take my bag. I couldn't afford to lose anything here. I slung it my shoulder only to realize a slight pain from my foot. I looked down to see the same bug from before was still biting onto my shoe. It didn't hurt that much, the insect was clearly weak, but I didn't like it. I tried to kick it off me but it had a good grip on me. "Ugh! Why won't you just let go!" I said angrily and kicked right at the wall causing it fall at the sudden shock and scurried away further into the cave.

I kinda felt bad for it but it deserved it. But to my surprise the bug wasn't the only thing that fell. A good chunk of the pink sludge I saw before fell unto me, covering hair and whole upper body. "Oh you gotta be KIDDING ME!" eh, at least it couldn't get any worse.

Only to feel slightly warmer than I was used to, and suddenly my skin toughing the sludge started to burn really bad. "AHHH! Get It Off. Get it OFF!?" I immediately ran outside and seeing there isn't water nearby, I just hysterically shook myself desperately trying to get it off.

Most of the pink stuff flew to the ground and some to the nearby plants making small burnt holes in them. I was finally able to get most of them off me, there were some burns on my arms with some red flecks (Is that what its called?)showing through the skin, nothing that was too severe, though the slight smoke coming was concerning, but most of the pain had gone away so that was a good sign.

What the hell was that? Was it supposed to do that? I had some left over bandages but I didn't want to use them yet, in case I needed it in the future. I was still questioning why it burnt me, but then again I shouldn't be so surprised, for all I know it could just be normal in this world. I didn't feel anything strange from the encounter, so it shouldn't effect me too much.

I suddenly heard cry. It wasn't a cry of help and it sounded more... animalistic. It seems pretty far away. I heard it again but this time it was more of a screech. I looked directly at the dark void between the forest trees where the sound came from. I could hear slight sound of thumping getting louder as it came at me. It must have heard me when I was having a scream fest a few moments ago. The thumping was getting closer and I could here smaller trees falling apart as the mysterious creature marched through them destroying everything at its path.

Why aren't I running away in fear? Why am I suddenly feeling that fleeing away isn't an option? Maybe because I know I won't be able to outrun it telling by how fast it was coming at me. I decided to stand my ground. I didn't have a plan on how I would survive and it seems I just gotta wing it.

Finally the beast burst out of the thick bushes, fully coming out and letting out a ear-breaking roar. It was a big green praying mantis, it was completely green and had wings that was half its size and had lime yellow circles on the inside and dark green on the outside and with bright yellow eyes. It was only a few feet taller than me so I could hopefully handle it. But to my surprise it ran past me not even giving me a second glance. Well that was very unexpected. It seemed almost hurry as if it was been...chased.

I heard an even loader roar coming from the same place the green mantis had come from. I flashed my attention to it only to see the true creature that made the destruction. It was once again a praying mantis, but this time it was three times larger and was coloured a poisonous red with terrifying yellow eyes with bright orange and yellow stripes across its back, with yellow translucent wings covering its whole back were now spread upwards highlighting its threatening stance, probably giving me warning telling me to run away.

Oh crabapples...
