Allen, our Vampire Hunter, has discovered vampires exsist on the Dammerung. But will his friends believe him? And just who was that vampire he saw? Was he dreaming? Read on to find out.

Chapter Two: You Gotta Believe Me

Allen stared off into space with the same fear ridden face of a frighten schoolboy. This stare continued as his friends woke up and got ready for the morning. His face frozen in fear even when Togashi dragged him to their workstations. Allen sits beside Togashi and Shion, unresponsive in his work chair.

"Allen has been sitting there staring off into space for the past five hours now," whispered a nameless employee. "Yeah, he hasn't said much of anything today. I even got away with taking a 30-minute coffee break twice," bragged Togashi.

"Shion, you should check up on him." Miyuki said.

"Why me?" Shion turned around from her monitor to ask.

"Because you're his boss," the nameless employee replied with confusion. Shion rolls her eyes at the gang before moving over towards Allen with an impatient look. She waves her hand over his face calling his name. "Allen, are you al-"VAMPIRES!"

Shion and everyone in the lab fell out of their chairs startled by the man's hysterical cries. She stares down at the Assistant Chief who hugged her waist tightly babbling about the creatures of the night.

"Allen, control yourself. You're talking like a crazy person!" Shion ordered.

"But-but Shion, the vampires. Th-there's REAL vampires on the ship!" Togashi and Miyuki blink surprised for a moment before bursting out laughing.

"I think you got WAY TOO into that Van Helsing movie, Allen." Miyuki joked behind the spooked man.

"It's true! I SAW A VAMPIRES in the room! We were sleeping, and-and-and this vampire popped out of nowhere talking about blood and 'getting a bite to eat', and the guy was like 'the night is still young'," Allen explained in a panic.

"Definitely sounds like you got too into that vampire hunter movie, man. Now, was the chick in this dream hot?" Togashi joked.

"I'm serious," cried Allen in frustration. Shion feels his head for a fever, waving her hand to cool it off as she groans. "Allen, I think you should call in sick and go home to sleep."

"But Chief," pleaded the man.

"Move Ridgeley," Ordered his boss with stern emerald eyes. Allen drags his feet out of the lab, shuffling back to his quarters in embarrassment and fatigue. He could see his boss/crush shaking her head with annoyance at the delusional man. When out of ear shot, the nameless employee interjects on his behalf.

"You know, it probably doesn't help we have that stupid rumor going around the Vector corporate vine."

"What rumor?" Asked Shion.

"You don't know, Miss Uzuki? There's this rumor that our boss, the head honcho himself, is REALLY a space vampire. People on the business side of the ship say he had this massive ship built so he could freely skulk the floors at night, drinking the blood of his employees to turn them into his mindless corporate army of Nazi Vampires."

"People only make those rumors because they're jealous. How many rich executive men you see look that hot?" chimed in a female coworker.

"I don't know, Kyla. There is something 'off' about that guy. I could kind of see him coming across as being an agent of darkness," argued Togashi playfully.

"Oh don't be ridiculous, Togashi. It's just a silly rumor," scolded Shion.

"Then how come he is ONLY seen at night?" argued the nameless employee.

"It's called an insomniac, gentlemen. Quite a common condition around the staff," Shion replied in a condescending tone. The Chief could remember conversations she had with Kevin, who would excitedly tell her stories about meeting the CEO. She used to think it was so cute he would gush about all those random details about the reclusive boss. The woman sighs and walks back to her seat by her assigned computer.

"It all just seems ridiculous, guys. I mean, do you people hear yourself? What are the odds our boss is some kind of superpowered monster lurking the ship at night for virgin sacrifices to his blood lust?" Shion turns back to her computer with a proper supervisor's scowl over her subordinates and says, "Now back to work."

The underlings in the lab turn back to their computers with Togashi and the nameless employee mumbling 'Shion the fun sucker at it again'.

"I heard that," replied the Chief.

-Research Division Hallways-

Allen, as soon as he got to the front of his residence, had to turn back to his desk at the lab. The now calm Allen had forgotten his phone on the desk before Shion forced him to go home and rest. The Assistant Chief sighs, feeling embarrassed by his outburst in front of Shion and the others.

"I really should apologize to the Chief before the day is over with," muttered the man.

He shuffles back to the lab, taking his time to reach the lab again, bracing himself for the jokes he would hear from Togashi. Granted, Allen thought, he totally deserved it. I mean really, vampires on a spaceship? What kind of ludicrous movie plot was he coming up with in his head? Vampires weren't real! The daydreaming man laughs, not paying attention to where he was going, and bumps into a man. Allen snaps out of his daydream to stare face to face with the piercing red eyes of a businessman in a fancy dark suit. His white hair framed his deathly pale face, with a prim perfect appearance from head to toe. "Pardon me," the man said with an indifferent expression.

A normal person would have just said 'excuse me', or maybe just nod and quietly walk away. Not Allen though. For you see, in that instant, Allen recognized the voice and face of the man he saw in that supposed 'dream' of his. Allen gawks at the man, restraining himself from screaming in horror and running away. As he stands there wandering what to do, Wilhelm and another young man stand in front of him looking at each other bewildered. Wilhelm disregards Allen's silent screaming when he spots the man's name tag and division name. "Fancy to run into you, Assistant Chief Ridgeley," The source of Allen's hysteria said.

Allen replies with high pitched squeals while the young man watches. Wilhelm scratches the side of his cheek ignoring the man's peculiar reply, gesturing for Allen to look at the teen beside him. "You must be familiar with the affairs of some of your subordinates, Mr. Ridgeley. This boy here says he is lost, trying to find his brother for lunch today. Help him find your lab, won't you?" Wilhelm phrased the request like a command. Allen stares at him like a deer in the headlights and says with a soft trembling voice, "Vampire…"

The now annoyed Wilhelm rolls his eyes at the stupefied man before shaking the teen's hand goodbye and leaving the hallway to go back to his work. The teenager looks at Allen and quickly bows with respect. "Setsuki Yukihira, sir! Um, a pleasure to meet you."

"Hhuuu….huhhhhhhhh?" Allen replied like an imbecile until he noticed a familiar air looking at the young man. Allen finds some of Togashi's facial features within the sixteen-year-old Setsuki, though he looked a little slimmer because of his age.

"Holy-you, you look a little like Togashi," Allen said in a coherent sentence. Setsuki scowls at Allen and mutters, "Don't remind me. Last thing I need is to be called 'little Toga' again." The young man looks at the man annoyed and says, "Are you going to help me find my brother or what?"

"Huh? Oh, sorry Setsuki. Let me show you where to go," Allen apologizes and starts guiding the teen to his workstation. They talk along in the hallway, Allen thinking in the back of his mind about the suspicious man in the dark suit. Those eyes, that pale skin, his voice…maybe his paranoia has some truth to it. The vampire did exist…and it was his boss.
