Fred and Barney sit on the couch to see what else is on TV
Wilma makes room in their bedroom for Betty to be comfortable
A few minutes go by and the front door creaks open, followed by a mound of blankets- and Betty buried underneath.
She carries them into Wilma's bedroom before plopping them down on the floor
Betty makes a makeshift bed on the floor while Wilma finds additional things to make it more cozy and less... floor-like.
Meanwhile, Barney looks around for a bottle opener to open his beer
"Pass it here, Barn." Fred says with an open hand
Barney hands it over.
Fred makes light work of opening it with his bare hands- to Barney's amazement
"Here ya go" he hands it back
"W-wow Fred, I-"
He presses his finger to Barney's lips in a semi-seductive way
"No need to thank me now, pal."
...
In the bedroom, Wilma and Betty finish up getting ready by making their beds and changing into their night clothes
Barney changes into his comfy pants and a sleeveless, suede leather shirt. He likes it for being really soft and cozy to sleep in-
Fred wears his button-up pajama shirt and long pants.
[20 minutes later]
The bedroom door closes and the light that beams from underneath switches off
Fred lays down on the couch to wait for Barney.
He's not far behind, as he exits the bathroom after brushing his teeth
"Hey, Fred.. It's funny that things would work out as well as it has so far tonight... don't ya think?" Barney says as he looks lovingly at his friend
"Yeah..." He reaches out to hug Barney, but he- once again- beats him to it and leaps into his arms.
Barney hugs him tight and stays there for a while.
Fred drapes his arms around Barney's shoulders and kisses him on the forehead-
"I love you, Fred.." Barney whispers, clinging tighter
"...I've wanted this since we were kids..." Fred whispers in response
His face feel hot- and he feels comfort in knowing how his friend has mutual feelings.
Both are still amazed that only a little but of 'liquid courage' allowed for them to open up to each other. All the needless bickering and holding back through the years, when all it took was a little bravery and one confession.
Funny how the world works.
Barney pulls loose from their tight hug to stare into the glistening eyes of his beloved pal
Fred feels it's his chance to lean in- first.
Last time, Barney initially went for a kiss but this time, Fred wants to show his ambition.
He moves in close and locks lips with him. They both kiss with passion and transition into making out- reading each other's movements like a good story.
"I was beginnin' to think you wasn't gonna kiss me... hehehe.. but I was wrong.."
"Heh-heh"
[Fred's POV]
I dunno what I was so scared for- the butterflies got to me I guess.
Only a few days ago we were only best friends... now, like someone waved a magic wand, he's willing to be the same Barney that I dreamed about as a teenager
But... without the guilt, which is a bonus if you ask me.
Something that amazed me was how Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm took to friendship as soon as they first played together- just like Barney and me.
Wilma played with us too, and she turned into another close friend as fast as anything.
Barney remained my best friend, Wilma became my girlfriend, and I had to choose one over the other- even though it was the hardest choice I ever had to make.
...
I bring Barney on top and he places his hands on my chest
That wave of heat hits me again, bringing me to invite him back to press his lips against mine
It quickly becomes a desperate, love and lust-filled tongue-sucking session, which goes on for a few minutes until we stop for a breath.
...
...
We made out earlier, yes, but this feels different. My whole body begs for him... despite me not having to say a word.
Hmmm... what?
Different than anything I've experienced before-
That, and I've never kissed another guy until Barney.
Oh boy..
[Author's note]
Yeesh... this story is sappy as crap. But anyone who has seen enough episodes of 'The Flintstones' will understand how the characters are when they're emotional.
Keep that in mind.
