Subplot :

Deal with a Fae.

part 3.

Back with Me.

Celestia stepped out of her realm, and through her tree. Finding the young royal waiting patiently for her.

"Your counterpart," whom she asked to wait in her realm. "Tells me, you seek our aid against the Daleks?" She smiled.

I gave a nod of his head, though did not bow. I understood, we were equals. Beyond a formal hello, there was no call for me to treat her as if she was above my station... we were Both Royals, even if I was artificially created.

I simply moved on. "That's right, the Daleks threaten to destroy all of reality. Including the Fae."

"We usually make a point of avoiding mortal squabbles," Celestia smiled. "But for this, I think I'm willing to give you the aid of my servants... and perhaps my sister's more experienced armies, as well... But I will require a boon."

"If it is within reason," I shrugged. "No offense, but I'm not about to offer a fae a blank check."

Celestia chuckled, "As you shouldn't, but I think you will like my own request. I want to become your fairy godmother."

I gaped.

"A Hybrid Fae, without a guardian, is a black mark on all Fae's honor. A Royal Fae, even more so. I wish to become your teacher, and protector. And when you're ready, I will guide you to the Fae City."

I looked down, "I know what a fairy godparent means... your basically offering to become my slave, and callling that your boon... i don't understand." I really didn't... and i believed I made the Fae, in my lore folder.

"I will teach you to understand," Celestia assured.

"You'd have to grant wishes for me, nearly anything I ask, you would have to make it happen, unless it goes against "Da Rules"... how is THAT your boon!?"

"I'll explain, if you grant me this boon. Otherwise, it is not my place. As you will not understand until I teach you how to think outside mortal logic."

I looked down, obviously thinking this was a trick. "You'll get aid from your sister? Won't she want a boon to?"

"Not from you, she will ask a favor of me. Which she already has. I will merely be collecting on the debt of accepting her dying soldiers, as some of the mortals I feed on. They have all met their potential, and so I gain little for accepting them. I do so out of kindness... but we fae do nothing for free, not even for family. Nor do we accept benefits without offering something in return. I think you can understand that much. Yes?"

I blushed, nodding. It seemed a pretty fair rule... if a bit heartless. "But then, what will you get out of the wishes?"

Celestia smiled. "That, you won't understand. Not until you learn how to think."

I sighed, looking at the floor. "I feel like I'm making a bad deal, despite getting everything I want, and more... for basically nothing..."

"If it helps, know that being a Fairy Godmother isn't completely one sided," Celestia looked like she was thinking hard how to explain it in mortal terms.

"I will always be yours, but likewise, you would be mine."

I sighed, thinking hard,

If I took this deal, I'd be careful what I wish for. While fairy wishes, are no Monkey's Paw, I designed them a very specific way.

Like the show "Fairy Odd Parents", most Fae wishes didn't actually effect reality. Rather they created a pocket dimension of a complex Illusion. If i wished for stuff, or food, they could pull it out of their own dimension... but if I wanted something world altering, they would just make a fantasy for me to play in... that would use "Tough Love" to teach me a lesson, according to Fae Morality.

These fantasies would better teach me to understand the fae. In a safe... but painful, environment.

I sometimes wonder if that is what this is... A fae reality... I've been here for thousands of years, already. But everything is so... perfect. There might be a war going on, but it's not like I was fighting in it...

Then again, I've been here for centuries... just going to school, and learning the science behind my fantasies... what would be the point of that? That isn't exactly teaching Fae secrets.

I'm not sure if this is real or not... if it is a delusion or an illusion... but I long since stopped thinking it mattered... at least, that's what I told myself... but presented with this opportunity...

"Alright, if you can answer a question for me," I asked. Getting a feeling, she knew more then she was letting on.

I pulled up a mental shield, so my hive mind couldn't see us... as I still didn't want them to know about my wish.

"What is this place?" Celestia frowned. "The Apocalypse Verse-"

"No," I shook my head. "I mean this, all of this, the very Cosmos! You're the first proper Fae I met, and you know more then your letting on!"

Celestia puzzled, before realization hit her eyes. "You're the one that made the wish..." she whispered.

I gulped.

She smiled, "Now I want you more then ever. And I will explain all." She held out her arms, as if asking for a hug. "All you have to do, is become my Fairy Godchild, and I will do my best to tell you, everything."

I gulped, but I wanted answers so badly, more then I realized, and she proved she knew, by acknowledging my wish.

I hesitantly walked over, and let her hug me... then more hesitantly returned the hug. I could feel her magic enter my body, requesting me to be her's... so I let her in, desperate for answers.

"You, are a fae descendant," She explained, still hugging me. As she set up a psychic link between our magic. "You were always of fae blood. Your madness just let you tap into it more.

"The Dragon balls were mere toys, but the ritual you preformed had power... because you wanted it to. Your Fairy Godparent, the one you spoke to with your every prayer, heard you, and used the ritual to step into your dimension... and more directly grant your wishes.

"Your wish for health was made possible, through our technology. Your wish for a cosmos of your own... gave us... ideas.

"We would have brought you here, regardless. Though your third wish made us lose track of you. All here is real, and not one of our fantasies."

"How?" I whispered, still feeling her magic in me, and not letting go of the hug.

"We fae... are not magic, at least, not in our home cosmos. We are interdimensional beings, whom gained that through technology. Most stories of 'Ghost' or 'angels' is just us, watching over our descendants, in other dimensions.

"We don't think like you, because we're evolved from a different kind of lifeform. More energy based, then through matter... but again, we aren't magic. We grew old and died, like anything else... but our technology allowed us to live several million of your years.

"When you asked for the dead loved ones, of yourself and your friends, we did not collect their souls, as their is no such thing in your world. We merely pulled them out of time. And implanted false memories of them watching their surviving loved ones."

I gaped, looking up at her.

"We fae have a different morality," She just shrugged, and I guess I could accept that.

"Sooooo, this place isn't real. It's just where your keeping all your fae descendants?"

"Each fae line, is kept in a different leyline, within their own Fae City.

"The Styx Leyline, was chosen to house your relatives, you don't know about."

"Since that's you're Leyline... does that me..."

"You're not directly descended from me, but we are cousins... though distantly so." She gently touched my cheek. "I'm so grateful you found your way back to us.

"My birth, my life, was preordained by the fates. Thanks to a fan fiction you enjoyed. But know, I don't resent you." She smiled. "I rather like my life.

"Why?" I asked "What's with the Cosmos of made up stories, and even fan fictions? What's the point of such absurdity!?" my voice got more demanding then I intended

She blinked, "You gave us the idea. You wanted this, so we assumed our other descendants would like it... and they have. Many enjoy exploring their favorite franchises."

"I bet they knew it wasn't real." I pouted.

"But they are real," She insisted. "As I said, this isn't a fantasy. We took all our descendants out of time, and used all our resources to build your cosmos. It took us 42 trillion years, Generations upon generations of Fae. Which is the reason you don't have a fairy godparent anymore. They died long before the Cosmos was finished.

"You're ideas, for how to create magic through science, were expanded, and gave us true immortality. It's part of the reason we look after our mortal descendants. Their ideas, their sheer ingenuity, have propelled our technological advancement, and got us out of a place of stagnation... you weren't even the first mortal to give us grand ideas."

"This world, this cosmos, and all the people in it, are real breathing people. and should be acknowledged as living creatures. The Fates, we made, guide them, but so do our gods of free will."

I felt my magic "Click"... with no other way to describe it. And Celestia finally broke the hug.

"You're back," She smiled, "And your cousins will rejoice at your return. And at the return of all the fae inside you."

I gulped, looking at my feet... it was a lot to absorb... and while part of me insisted this was all some comatose dream... most of me believed her.

"How'd you lose me?" I dared ask.

"The Cosmos is a big place, and the one who sent you off died trillions of years ago. I more know of you through ancient Legends from my uncle, Hades. You're descended from him."

I rolled my eyes, "Of Course... you'll take good care of my counterpart, won't you?"

"I'll care for him like a treasured pet, and return him when I'm required." Celestia promised. "It might be rare, but he won't even be my first exchange Student. Sometimes, we fae temporarily trade our bound mortals. It gives them greater experiences, we can all feed on."
