"You've really been doing well in these sessions Katsumi." The young voice tells the young girl.
"…Thank you." She nods her head.
"No thank you, being able to meet you and hearing your story has really been interesting so do you really know what you want to do?" He couldn't help but ask her.
"No…that's the issue." Irritated, she huffs.
"I'm sure you'll find something it doesn't have to be hero work don't force yourself." He reminds her.
"Yeah…thanks." Tiredly, she sighs.
"No problem I look forward to our next session…" Smiling, the man's voice rings in the younger head of Katsumi, silently staring up at the bathroom ceiling, was this really process? Sure she wasn't feeling as shit as she did the first time she slipped out the bath but…
The aches of her body begged otherwise, her body winces whimpering from another failure of an exercise, she didn't want to do it but her mother demanded she do it so she did. She had to do it again, adjust to the weight of her body. She still couldn't help but wonder whether this was process or not…whether it was the meds or not that was making her not feel as shitty as she did at the start. Sighing, she closes her hues collecting herself, she moped long enough it was time to get up…
"Why are you in the tub?" She perks up at the voice, her curt crimson meeting a air of green.
"The real question is this Midoriya why aren't you in the tub?" She smirks strained up at the little boy having no clue what the heck was going on not that she could blame him, not even she could get what was going on up there, sure the doctors talked as did the therapist helped her understand some stuff but she still struggled to truly decipher this rollercoaster of sorts.
"…Should I call auntie?" The young boy queries concern clear in his tone towards her making her sigh smiling sadly at the surprisingly emotionally intelligent boy.
"No I'm fine Midoriya." She assures him.
"You promise?" He gets on his tippy toes to look down at her.
"Promise. You'll understand one day." She smiles sadly up at him.
"Understand?" He couldn't help but question.
"Yep one of these days you're going to wake up and think do I have to get up? Do I want to get up? Leading you to the conundrum of should I get up and the answer is this Midoriya do what feels righ for you get up or stay down that's up to you and no one can tell you otherwise." Softly, she curls in on herself nuzzling the side of the tub too tired for anything.
"…Did you fall again?" Annoyed, another voice soon joins in making her sigh.
"Ah hello gremlin child." Coyly, she looks up at the boy above as Deku giggles.
"It's Katsuki!" Gremlin boy however doesn't get the teasing joke.
"Gremlin child." Calmly, she corrects.
"I'm your brother!" He glares down at her, his roaring red meet her serene scarlet, the bags hanging heavy under her hues.
"Really? Does that make me half gremlin then?" Teasingly, she ponders propping herself against the tub nuzzling into it.
"Urgh this is why I don't bring my friends here cause you're weird!" Katsuki complains cross.
"Sounds more like a you problem than a me problem." Softly, she sighs.
"Urgh! Why are you always like this!? Why don't you care!? They call you weak! Doesn't that make you mad!?" Mad, the young blonde boy demands pointing at her, Deku worriedly watching from the side.
"…Is truly not caring associated with being weak to you?" Aloofly, she shrugs.
"Huh?" He blurts out.
"Just something to chew on." Casually, she cocoons herself further into her side.
"Look did you fall or not?" Impatiently, Katsuki demands from her.
"Would it surprise you if I said I simply wanted to lie in this tub for a while?" Smirking, she asks him.
"Mom and dad will want to use it soon!" He huffs desperate.
"Well I can deal with that when it comes to that." Aloofly, she shrugs further frustrating the young boy.
"What if Deku wants to pee?" Pointedly, he brings up startling said boy.
"H-Huh?" The young Midoriya blinks befuddled by the sudden spotlight shining down upon him.
"Do you need to Midoriya?" Casually, she turns to the young boy.
"N-No…" Shyly, he bows his head blushing brightly.
"Liar!" Angrily, the blonde boy glares at him.
"…I DON'T!" He squeaks scared as too tired to deal with either of the two she turns her back to them curling further in on herself.
"Urgh forget it you're so weird come on Deku!" Katsuki orders the young boy.
"W-Wait auntie said we shouldn't leave her alone!" Anxiously, Midoriya worries unsure on what to do.
"It's fine go ahead." She waves the young boy off.
"Are you sure?" Worriedly, he eyes her.
"I am." She promises patting his head.
"…Shout if you need help!" Midoriya follows after Katsuki leaving her to it…
"Urgh…" Katsumi grunts groans, hearing through the ringing of her ears, the beeping of the machine by her side. She stares at the beeping lines of the heart monitor making her grumble. The soft sound of beeping echoes throughout the room of white while a pair of curt crimson gaze up upon the ceiling above, bags hanging heavily under her drained done firm facial features. How long had she been here? It felt like just yesterday she had come in due to the raid…what was with the hospital and her constantly waking up in one?
Katsumi couldn't help but ponder if God was just messing with her or whatever was out that, she couldn't help but ponder her trails of terrible luck, all she wanted was to go out for lunch get some semblance of understanding of what was going on with Hawks and then a nomu comes out of nowhere…seriously what was with her luck?
Katsumi places her head to her temple, what had happened…? One moment she was having lunch with Hawks and Endeavour then…the nomu. She scowls at the thought of the beast brow furrowing fatigued from the thought of the nomu alone, to think one as smart and strong as that existed alarmed her. How were the other heroes going to deal with one of those guys…? She doubted there was just one, it was never that easy…
"Ah you're awake." The doctor greets her.
"How long have I been out?" Katsumi gets straight to the point.
"A day…" The doctor reports.
"Huh that's pretty good for me…" Katsumi admits.
"KATSU!" The bright blonde blur rushes at her.
"T-Tai?!" Taken aback, she blinks baffled to see said male.
"I THOUGHT YOU DIED!" He wails hugging her.
"…Feeling it…" She grunts from the might of his arms as if she were about to have her back broken.
"Oh sorry! But you had me worried sick!" Sternly, he scolds her.
"…As dramatic as ever…what is with you thinking I'm dying lately?" Katsumi grunts.
"What's with you getting into situations where you keep nearly dying!?" Fuming, Fatgum demands.
"…It's sorta part of the job." Katsumi reminds him.
"No one has that bad of luck than you. Do you want me to have a heart attack?!" Agitated, he demands from her.
"Tai I'm fine. Everything is fine." Sighing, she promises.
"I…I thought for sure you had…" He whimpers using the back of his arms to stop the tears.
"I'm fine." Firmly, she reaches out bringing her friend into a side hug, helping her friend let the waterworks out…
"Shouldn't we visit the boss?" Kane couldn't help but ask as he leans back in his spin springing it about as he tries to avoid his paperwork, firmly focusing on the pencil between his top lip and nose.
"And have the boss come back to this workload? We're doing her a favour by staying here." Haneul reminds Soundspark spinning to his hearts content.
"Yeah but Ed could man the fort." Feebly, Kane disputes as Ed freezes from the sudden eyes on them, quietly ordering their soda and fleeing from the sudden spotlight shone down upon them.
"You just don't want to do paperwork." Flatly, Firefly deadpans.
"Do you?" Kane scoffs.
"For your information I enjoy paperwork." Politely, Haneul admits astonishing Kane.
"…How are we friends?" Kane couldn't help but ask astonished at himself for befriending something like Firefly as the two continue on with their paperwork.
"Good evening miss Bakugo…" The doctor once again greets her as she lies in bed, Tai long gone but the desert he had left for her still there as she smiles at the gesture.
"Good evening doc say doc don't suppose that was just a small incident I was involved in…?" Hopeful, she couldn't help but ask the doctor.
"The whole world saw it." The doctor chuckles.
"…Crap. Doc I know we don't know each other but don't suppose you could fake my death for me could you? Just write a little death certificate and I'll be on my way." Katsumi curses.
"You want to avoid the media that bad?" Bemused, the doctor assumes as Katsumi turns to smile at the snack by her side, Tai…touched, she smiles at the gift, seeing a fair few bouquets by her side, with the normal get well soon gist.
"Oh no, no, no I want to avoid my mother that bad." Bluntly, Katsumi admits as just then…
"As tempting as the offer is…" The doctor bemused begins to chuckle…
"THAT'S NOT HAPPENING!" The boisterous blonde bellows rushing inside.
"…Crap." Katsumi curses at the lecture soon delivered to her.
"Sayako? We haven't spoken yet and I had some questions I had hoped you could answer." Taneo turns to the door, knocking gently on it but is met by still silence.
"What are you doing mr Taneo?" Curiosity getting the best of Mina, makes her way over.
"Oh I was hoping to ask Sayako some question." Taneo smiles smoothly at the giddy girl.
"Oh I doubt she'll come out of her room." Mina smiles.
"How come?" Taneo queries.
"Cause that's just how Sayako is." Mina smiles.
"What do you mean?" Taneo frowns.
"Sayako likes to keep to herself, her social battery isn't as great as most would assume. So she doesn't come out often." Mina explains to Taneo.
"Does she ever?" Taneo queries.
"Well unless for the essential stuff like food or her meds not really no." Jiro joins in.
"I see…" Taneo hums.
"But hey you could ask us some questions if you'd like!" Mina throws in.
"Sure. Tell me how did you feel about the news of Sayako coming from two male pro heroes?" Happily, he asks them.
"Um…why does that matter?" Jiro's brow furrows.
"Well as you know legally same sex partnerships in Japan can't have children for them to have two nonetheless, disobeying the laws the hero society created is not very hero like now is it." Truthfully, Taneo reminds them, recalling it wasn't the means of the couple being together rather it was the method in which they chose to produce such heirs, having heard the fear of further mutations growing by having the quirk user control the means of which quirk the child would inherit, how the quirk could mutate…to control such variables in itself was a terribly frightening power to behold, a hole era, a generation of warriors with mutations far beyond human comprehension…
"Well…if two people love each other very much why can't they have kids?" Defensively, Mina crosses her arms over her chest confused.
"Yeah if a man and a woman can have a kid why can't a guy and another guy?" Jiro joins in annoyed.
"Well…I'm not against it myself but there are a fair few people out there who…would beg to differ." Dubiously, Taneo adjusts his lenses.
"Who cares!?" Cross, Mina scowls.
"Huh?" Taneo blurts out.
"Who cares what they think? Why does Sayako's origin even matter to you?" Jiro glares glowers at Taneo.
"Well it's quite a big story to have two pretty famous heroes acquire children through the means of an quirk that has been outlawed in a few nations rather than adopt and that's not even going into how that seems to be the issue, isn't it strange just them being together is the issue? Don't you think it's something deeper than that like their using this excuse as a way to cover up the real reason for the controversial couple?" Cooly, Taneo adjusts his lenses curious to see the reactions of Class A.
"Camera man come look at my darling sparkles." Aoyama soon saunters into the camera view.
"Urgh…" Taneo furrows his brow by said sharp sparkles.
"Look if you want to talk to Sayako she has her supplementary lessons later." Jiro huffs furrowing her brow at him.
"She does?" Taneo perks up.
"Yeah she failed her exam so she's taking the supplementary course to get her licence." Mina elaborates.
"I see interesting thank you for the scoop ladies." Teasingly, he winks at the two taking off soon enough, oblivious to the shy creak of the door, of a pair of glaring green watching the man's fleeting retreat…for now.
"A DAY! YOU WERE LET OUT FOR A DAY AND YOU END UP IN HOSPITAL!?" Mad, Mitsuki snaps scowling at the just done Katsumi wanting out of it all, a part of her tempted to ask for some sort of drug to just zone her out of her mother's rant but...there was no such option for the hero, sadly.
"…Yep." Katsumi couldn't help but confirm it, what else was she supposed to say, she couldn't exactly lie.
"YEP!? THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY!" Screaming, her mother yells, Masaru meekly behind worriedly watching the two feuding woman.
"WHAT DO YA WANT ME TO SAY MA!?" Mad, Katsumi barks back.
"I-I think what your mother means dear is well…" Meekly, Masara tries to speak up however…
"WHAT I MEAN IS DO YOU EVEN HAVE A SENSE OF SELF PRESERVATION!?" Pointedly, she demands from her daughter.
"NOT THIS AGAIN MA I'M A HERO!" Katsumi snaps seething.
"YOU ARE ALSO MY DAUGHTER YOUNG LADY YOU GOT TO SAVE LIVES I GET THAT I'M PROUD BUT YOU'RE LIFE IS JUST AS VALUBLE AS THE NEXT GUYS!" Mitsuki seethes scowling.
"MA! IT'S MY JOB!" Katsumi roars both feuding snapping shouting at each other with nurses worriedly watching fearfully.
"P-Please come on you two l-let's not fight…we're in a hospital…" Masaru meekly tries to interrupt but…
"HUH? WHAT DID YOU SAY DEAR? SPEAK MORE CLEALRY!" Mitsuki yells at her husband.
"DAD FOR GOODNESS SPEAK CLEARLY!" Katsumi snaps.
"DON'T TALK TO YOUR FATHER LIKE THAT KATSUMI!" Mitsuki yells at her daughter.
"I'LL SPEAK TO HIM HOWEVER I LIKE NOW WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!?" Mad, Katsumi demands from her mother.
"I WANT TO KNOW HOW MY DAUGHTER WILL HAVE JUST A WEEK WITHOUT GOING TO HOPSITAL!" MITSUKI YELLS AT HER.
"YOU THINK I WOULDN'T LIKE THAT!?" Katsumi barks back oblivious to the onlookers watching on from the other side of the room.
"…You can clearly see where Katsumi gets it from…" Hawks remarks amused as Endeavour and the rest of the men sweat drop at the sight of the feuding women.
"Please…stop…" Shyly, Masura begs before being barked at by both females.
"…" Quietly, Eri watches both mother and daughter yell at each other.
"You okay?" Aizawa asks as he notes Eri watching the family.
"…She's Bombi's mother." Eri observes.
"Yep." Aizawa confirms watching the women yell at each other.
"…Scary…" Eri couldn't help but watch…
"Yeah you sure you want to go in there?" Aizawa eyes Eri frowning as Eri looks down at the letter below, grip tightening around it, unaware of the quiet Endeavour and Hawks watching on.
"…I want to give Bombi her letter." Eri admits as she holds said letter, she wants to be brave too just like Bombi…
"Good he's gone now then…" Sayako grumbles getting out of her room.
"You know if you just gave the guy that interview he wants he won't bothering you anymore." Tiredly, Todoroki approaches the just done Sayako.
"So you're telling me to let him win?" Sayako scowls at the thought.
"What if with this winning thing with you? Come on let's go we got lesson." Todoroki reminds Sayako.
"Noooo…." Sayako whines.
"Sayako come on you're a student it's expected of you. We both still have to catch up with Midoriya and the rest again." Sternly, Shoto reminds her.
"If I'm not a bush I'm not no one…" Sayako sighs.
"Is this a reference to something I don't understand again?" Tiredly, Todoroki sighs.
"I'm trying all I can to educate you Shoto!" Scowling, Sayako snaps exasperation etched into her tired tone.
"Right come on we still got supplementary lessons." Strictly, Shoto reminds Sayako.
"But we got our licences…" Sayako whines annoyed about it all.
"We still have to play catch up." Shoto sternly reminds her.
"Noooooooo…." Sayako draws out anguished as she is swiftly taken away, dragged away by the stern Shoto studiously keeping Sayako studying away.
The soft sigh escapes Masaru as he exits out of the room needing some air only then to blink befuddled by the line of men before him.
"We met." Aizawa offers his hand to him.
"Ah Katsuki's teacher. Hello again. Hm? Who is this?" Masaru smiles shyly down at the young Eri, her hues widening when seeing a brief glimpse of Bombi.
"You're…Bombi's dad right?" Meekly, Eri tugs at the trouser leg of the man above.
"Bombi? Oh you mean Katsumi?" He smiles down at the girl.
"…" Shyly, she nods bowing her head.
"Do you want to give her that?" He takes note of the letter.
"…" Shyly, she nods worriedly watching the two feuding pair, Mitsuki pinching the cheeks of the cross growling glaring Katsumi.
"Ah…Mitsuki may seem scary but she means well. Would you like to come with me?" Masaru quickly catches on surprising the men to see such softness, see such care, see such kindness, Hawks happily seeing where Katsumi got such softness from while the rest couldn't help but ponder how this soft spoken meek man was related to someone like Katsumi.
"It's alright." Aizawa nods as Eri shyly takes Masaru's hand.
"…Alright. We're coming in." Masaru calls out.
"Huh?" Both women turn to the door hearing his voice.
"There's someone here who really wants to see you." Masaru smiles stepping aside for…
"Bombi!" Eri rushes over to Katsumi's side.
"Eri?!" Astonished, Katsumi blinks baffled to see said smiling face she quickly catches. Mitsuki blinks befuddled to see said child confusion clear on her furrowed features however Masaru's soft smile swiftly assures her all was well.
"But you got into a huge fight yesterday, I heard you got hurt!" Worriedly, Eri holds her face.
"You…saw?" Worried, Katsumi looks over at Aizawa peering in, silently shaking his head.
"No Mr Aizawa wouldn't let me, he took me to my room." Eri pouts.
"R-Right…wha…what are you doing?" Katsumi smiles relieved.
"Pain pain go away…" Eri whispers shyly, rubbing her hands against Katsumi's cheeks as she couldn't help but smile softly at Eri's effort to help her.
"Eri has a letter she wanted to show you." Masaru steps up.
"Is that so?" Smiling, she turns as Eri shyly hands her the letter. Katsumi opens it, hoisting Eri on her lap, curious to see the contents within the letter…
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Heckling, Soundspark holds his waist, tears threatening to spill from his icy blue visor, his purple locks flopping down at the horrified Haneul's dilemma, feeling his chest wheeze, staring lightly feeling his lungs burn unable to properly breathe from Firefly's predicament.
"Would you stop laughing?" Firefly frowns at the purple haired man.
"I…I can't breathe I can't oh god!" Soundspark heaves, slamming his hand down on the armchair trying to collect himself as Haneul tells her tale concerning a girl during a mission. Ed blinks baffled by the news, silently sipping their coffee attempting to hide the small snicker trying to breath through.
"I know. I feel horrible. Okay." Haneul admits anguished, head in hands.
"Why it's hilarious!?" Kane comes to Haneul's defence.
"How can you laugh at something so cruel?" Fuming, Firefly gawks at him.
"You did it." Soundspark snickers.
"Just because I did not mean that's something to laugh about!" Angrily, Haneul glares at him.
"Oh come on the perfect class representative, the teacher's pet, the picture perfect girl with the clean slate stained is pretty funny. Hey look says here that a muppet got whacked on Sesame Street last night. Where exactly were around ten-ish?" Kane smirks sauntering over propping himself over the desk, one leg over the other as he gets out his phone bemused by Haneul's heated glare.
"Ow!" Kane cries out from the swift strike to the head by her pole.
"Karma stings doesn't it?" Smirking, she looks down at him.
"I think… I broke something." Grimacing, Kane wheezes.
"Well, that's karma for you." Haneul dictates going back to her paperwork leaving the squirming wheezing mess of Soundspark to it.
"How is she?" Endeavour asks as he has his hand around the IV drip stand standing by the rest of the men watching on. Hawk's hues narrow looking through the window of the room to see said smiling face of Katsumi talk to Eri, enjoying the letter she had been given. Hawks ignores the pain in his chest when watching the sight hearing the roll of a wheel echoes throughout the hospital hallway. Rocklock and Aizawa linger in the hallway, watching through the window as Aizawa watches on while Katsumi seemingly play with Eri.
"Endeavour? Shouldn't you be resting?" Rocklock takes note of the number one hero.
"The doctor said I could stand." Aloofly, he answers.
"…Right." Rock Lock grunts.
"What are you doing here though?" Hawk couldn't help but probe.
"What's it look like? To see my friend." Rocklock frowns.
"Bombarda's your friend?" Hawk says surprised.
"Yeah we got way back she's the one who got me to meet my wife." He admits scratching the back of his hair.
"That so…" Endeavour turns to look inside, his hues widening when seeing the sight.
"It's weird right…? Seeing the normal badass bloodied warrior look so motherly right?" Rocklock smirks slightly almost amused at the sight.
"I wouldn't say it's a bad thing." Hawk hums eyeing the sight, as for a brief second he swore he saw instead of the young girl, he could see a young boy with little wings of brown matching his hair with eyes of gold glistening gleaming with a mischievous glint to them. By their side, he could see another, a young girl with blonde pigtails held by ruby red feather like bands matching her shimmering scarlet with red rings of her own to boot.
"Aizawa, Endeavour and Rocklock share a look as a still silence falls between the men, the trio eyeing Hawks noting him still staring until Hawks notes the men staring at him.
"So…?" Hawk probes changing the topic.
"So?" Aizawa finally speaks up eyeing the group.
"How is she?" Endeavour couldn't help but ask getting straight to the question on everyone's minds, eyeing the smiling woman, happily playing with Eri.
"She's doing the best she can with her situation." Rocklock admits.
"…almost too well…" Aizawa admits.
"Her situation…I take you mean the nomu wounds." Endeavour frowns from the murky memory of blood unaware of Hawk still silently staring at her.
"It isn't just physical…it's mental." Aizawa admits.
"…Mental?" Hawk and Endeavour share a look lost.
"I can't imagine it, having your arm back after all those years only for it be ripped away just like that." Truthfully, Rocklock confesses.
"…What?" Both men say shocked blinking baffled by the news but before they could even ask the woman herself, she soon starts coughing confusing concerning Eri and her parents.
"So you're like Katsumi's daughter!" Mitsuki merrily smiles.
"She's really not." Katsumi deadpans but…
"If she's the closest thing to a grandchild I'm taking it." Mitsuki smirks.
"MOM!" Katsumi barks blushing brightly.
"You remind me a bit of Katsumi when she was your age." Masara admits to Eri.
"I do?" Eri perks up hopeful.
"Yes would you like to see?" Smiling, Masara offers.
"DAD!" Katsumi blushes brightly glaring at the ass.
"See!" Smiling, Masara shows a photo of a younger Katsumi in a rather regal formal attire.
"Wow…" Eri starry-eyed stares down at the photo of Katsumi looking so regal so elegant so formal…
"This little shit here was a model a child one the best in the business!" Boasting, Mitsuki drapes her arm around the glaring girl.
"Mom you can't swear in front of a kid!" She snaps at her.
"Fine she was good in her field look at her!" Happily, Mitsuki gushes giddily over another photo of Katsumi as a kid simply staring.
"She's…just like me." Eri eyes the pictures before her.
"…Eri?" Katsumi blinks befuddled.
"You don't smile you never smiled!" She points out.
"…Uh…yeah I guess you're right." Katsumi sweat drops seeing the numerous gloves her younger self wore.
"You're either scowling or simply staring you don't smile you're just like me!" Eri turns to beam brightly up at Katsumi.
"Uh…yeah…I guess…" Katsumi smiles strained not quite sure what to say.
"Then that means…since she was like me I could be cool as her someday!" Smiling, Eri gasps giddily at the thought.
"…Eri…" Touched, Katsumi smiles softly down at her just as she grimaces from the sudden tickle to her throat.
"Katsumi?" Mitsuki furrows her brow by the coughing mess of Katsumi.
"B-Bombi?" Anxiously, Eri whimpers weakly as Aizawa rushes in to take Eri but…
"I-I'm fine I'm…!" Katsumi continues coughing, Aizawa and Mitsuki's eyes widening when…
"Bombi?" Eri having clung onto Bombarda notes the scarlet stain on her hand.
"Call the doctor. Now!" Masara orders as Rocklock rushes off to do just that, Katsumi continuing to cough crimson wheezing weakly holding her throat. Masara rushes over, helping her drink some water before leaning her back, concern clear on his furrowed features, trying to help his heaving daughter as best as he can, oblivious to the anguished Hawks helplessly watching on as the curtain is soon pulled, the doctors rushing in to best help her as best they can…
She should probably get up…Katsuki and Midoriya will only cause chaos, mess at the least that if she doesn't clean up she will just have to deal with. She releases a small strained sound of a grunt or moan Katsumi did not know nor did she frankly care.
Grunting, the younger Katsumi grits grinds her teeth together using the side bar to help her stand shakily scowling. Still that jog was nice, the earphones really had helped her not think about certain stuff not to mention helped blank all the eyes and those trying to talk to her to get some snippet for the press. She hated it, those people just staring, looking so pitifully at her, it made her blood boil, bubble, burn at the sore sour memory of her falling flat to the ground, her body groaning, grimacing, aching as they all stares, some silently staring, some snickering, some simply turning their back leaving her to struggle. She hated doing it, it did nothing but make her feel further like shit but it had to be done according to the doctors.
Stretching, she lets loose a small strained sound of sorts exiting out of the shower. She should probably get something to eat she assumes as she descends down the stairs, noting the sticky note on the table of gone to work with a number just in case. Casually, she makes her way over to the kitchen, beginning to make herself some lunch, her therapist's voice ringing in her head still…what did she want? What did she want to do? She couldn't figure it out…
She couldn't help but stop briefly by his words while looking around herself. She wanted a place of her own, she knew that but to get that, to move out she'd need money and to get money she'd need a job…question is what person would hire her for…-NOPE.
"NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. Swiftly, she stops herself, setting said knife down, releasing a small strained noises of nopes within her, nope she was NOT going down that train of thought, she couldn't, she wouldn't. So she did what she did best, she went over to the corner, picking up a dumbbell and began lifting, listening to the music from her earphones she had put on form the baggy hoodie pockets defeating the trial of thought trying to sneak slither in, sweat sliding down her tense temple, gritting grinding her teeth together, she was not letting that train of thought control her, let it in and let it out, let it in and let it out, she chants to herself composing, controlling herself until the door bursted open, startling her.
"Katsumi!" Midoriya alarmed rushes over to her.
"Don't!" Katsuki warns.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Katsumi sets her dumbbell down, worriedly looking over at Midoriya but…
"It's not me it's Katsuki!" Midoriya points to him as she turns to him.
"…You look a wreck." She couldn't help but eye her baby brother.
"…" Katsuki glares to the side.
"What happened?" She questions.
"Well…" Midoriya begins but soon squeaks scared stopping from Katsuki's ice cold glare.
"…" Katsuki simply scowls staring ahead as he brushes past the two.
"Did you and your friends get into a fight again?" Annoyed, Katsumi sighs at the still silence of a response.
"…" Katsuki continues glaring.
"Katsuki!" Katsumi snaps startling said glaring boy reluctantly stopping from her cold curt command.
"Come here." Katsumi sighs, going over grabbing Katsuki's arm as she sits him down on the counter.
"Just leave me alone!" Katsuki struggles however…
"And have mom bug me about your face, yeah no." Smoothly, she shuts her baby brother down setting the first aid kit down.
"…" Katsuki glares as she puts on her arm.
"Listen to her Kaachan!" Midoriya advises anxiously.
"Shut up tattletale!" Katsuki snaps scowling making Midoriya squeak scared.
"Leave Midoriya out of this and don't be such a big baby." Katsumi huffs taking a seat across, to tend to his face, Midoriya standing by her side as he watches on.
"I'm not a baby." Grumbling, he huffs pouting.
"You're certainly acting like it." Katsumi remarks the sniffling boy making Midoriya giggle but he soon stops from Katsuki's glare.
"Says the girl moping for months." Katsuki grumbles unaware of Katsumi's grimace.
"…What's that?" She couldn't help but take note of the rainbow card changing the topic.
"…Kaachan and I won a super ultra rare All Might Card!" Cheerily, Midoriya reveals his card.
"Yeah I won it!" Katsuki boasts beaming brightly at his card.
"…Cool. Still doesn't explain the bruises." Bluntly, her hues narrow at him.
"…Some older kids tried taking it from us." Midoriya admits alarming Katsumi while Katsuki glares at Midoriya.
"...Please tell me you didn't use your quirk." Pleadingly, she grabs her brother's shoulder alarmed.
"…Katsu…" Katsumi tuts tiredly seeing said scarlet smeared hands.
"…They said I didn't deserve it but I won I go that fair and square!" He tries to defend himself unaware of the pained Katsuki.
"I'm sure you did." Katsumi sighs sadly firmly focusing on tending to his hands.
"…They also said…you wouldn't get a card." Midoriya throws in.
"Would you shut up!?" Katsuki glares at Midoriya mystifying Katsumi.
"Huh? Why was I brought up?" Katsumi queries lost.
"Cause Kaachan and I said you would get your own card someday." Shyly, Midoriya admits as he bows his head.
"Deku you idiot!" Katsuki curses.
"…Why say something like that?" Taken aback, Katsumi eyes both boys befuddled, both of them sharing a look as Katsumi blinks befuddled.
"H-Hey!" Katsumi calls out taken aback as both boys rush down the stairs with a box befuddling her.
"What's this?" Katsumi crouches down as they hand her the box.
"Open it!" Katsuki orders making her frown but she complies, her hues widening when seeing the terrible drawings.
"Wha…what's this?" Katsumi couldn't help the small shy smile seeing said drawings.
"That's your hero costume!" Midoriya points to the stickman drawing.
"And the name? Where did Bombarda come from?" Fascinated, she couldn't help but ask eyeing the two eyeing the numerous pictures of her beating bad guys up, seeing some with her prosthetic to her surprise or so she assumes from the grey bulky stick arm.
"You explode like a bomb!" Beaming, Katsuki explains.
"You…you did all this?" Touched, she smiles down at the two.
"Course we did dumbass!" Katsuki huffs looking away blushing brightly.
"You're our hero!" Happily, Midoriya confesses to her.
"What about All Might?" She couldn't help but ask the two.
"All Might's our hero sure but you're our hero too! See here's your card!" Cheerily, Midoriya shows said card to her taking her aback at the sheer sight of her hero card bringing a bright beam to her lips, her lip trembling at the rainbow rendition of her so called hero card.
"…You…still think I could be a hero?" Katsumi's tone trembles breaks before the two.
"Yeah!" The two tell her as she slides her hand over her mouth muffling said sniffle as before the two knew it…she had hugged them, the tears freely flowing from her.
"…Katsu?" Taken aback both befuddled boys share a lost look.
"…Thank you…thank you both so much." Katsumi whimpers weakly, hugging them both, the tears freely falling from her oblivious to the decision she had made for herself thanks to them.
"What is that?" Soundspark couldn't help but eye the numerous jar jams scattered around Firefly's desk as she dutifully does her work.
"Jam." Smoothly, she smiles showing said varieties of jam.
"…Why do you have jam?" Soundspark couldn't help but ask.
"Why wouldn't I have jam?" Fairly, Firefly frowns.
"Urgh the seeds for one." Kane grimaces using his finger to comb through his front teeth scraping some part.
"…you can have jam without seeds." Disgusted, Firefly eyes the lax Kane, heels on his desk.
"…That's a thing?" Surprised, Soundspark scraping his teeth does a doubletake.
"Yes, I've making jam, been at it since 4 o'clock this morning." Merrily, Haneul explains.
"…Why?" Kane couldn't help but ask baffled by the thought of making jam.
"To make up for what happened to that little girl." She smiles.
"Who's knee you broke?" Kane leans in baffled.
"Who I'm going to make up for that." Haneul smiles.
"…You think giving the girl jam…will make up for her broken knee?" Kane tries to get her to understand.
"It's not just one jam jar it's three that's quite generous when I was young I'd always wait for my birthday to be blessed with my nana's jam recipe, she promised to give it to me when I got married though I managed to steal it from my mother when I was younger and made some scones!" Smiling, she explains to Kane.
"Where'd you get fruit at four in the morning?" Soundspark eyes the boxes of fruit by her desk.
"Went down to the docks. Bet ya didn't know you could get it wholesale." Flirtatiously, Firefly winks.
"I didn't know there were docks." Kane admits.
"Yes well there is. My nana sent me some from them." Happily, Haneul reveals.
"And you think she'll like jam?" Kane wiggles a brow bemused.
"Everyone likes jam." Haneul smiles.
"…No they really don't." Soundspark snickers.
"Just because you don't like it doesn't mean others won't? Ed you like jam right?!" Haneul hopeful turns to Ed.
"…" Ed stares silently at Haneul, sneakily stealing an apple before going about their day.
"You were saying?" Smugly, Soundspark leans in his seat seeing the scowling huffing Haneul, cheeks puffed out fuming.
"Urgh I want to bring her something, what do you think she'll like?" Haneul frets, a dark cloud hovering above her.
"Maybe a Hello Kitty doll, the ability to walk..." Kane offers as Ed snorts making Haneul glare at the traitor.
"I'm gonna go do some training that helps me think." Haneul gets up staff in hand.
"Look out kids, she's coming!" Kane hollers as Haneul continues to leave with her head down in shame, the cloud of water beginning to pour soaking her face.
"Very funny." Snippily, Ross grumbles glaring as small bulbs of lightning flickering across said cloud.
"She sees you when you're sleeping she knows when you're awake she knows if you've been bad or good so run for goodness sake!" Smirking, Soundspark throws in snickering.
"Hilarious!" Huffing, Haneul throws the raincloud above her soaked state over the suddenly screaming Soundspark.
"I JUST HAD HIGHLIGHTS!" He wails while trying to out run the raincloud as Haneul goes to train…
Quietly, Katsumi stands before the bed she had rested upon, now packing away her things, silently bopping her head to the beat in her earphones as she looks over at her phone, noting the numerous texts sent her way making her sigh. She was fine, she just had to take a train then her parents would take things from there, she couldn't be left on her own yet or at the least not until her mother and father approved. Then she would go see Eri assure her she was well while she would later go to check on Katsuki, two birds and one stone, that sort of thing. Then she would get back to work, keep Kane and Firefly in line and then…
"Katsumi?" She perks up at the call of her name turning to see Endeavour and Hawks.
"Oh…you guys being discharged too." She turns to the two.
"Looks like it." Endeavour grunts.
"You should join us." Hawks smiles.
"…" Silently, she eyes the pair.
"…I'm going to the train station." She tells them.
"As am I." Endeavour exclaims.
"Me too. Man what a coincidence." Cheekily, Hawks smiles as Katsumi eyes the two, brow furrowed.
"The last time we three were together it resulted in a hospital." Sceptical, she hums.
"It won't this time or at the least if it does we'll rely on other heroes to do it." Hawks promises.
"…That doesn't assure me." She states stoically.
"…Right." Hawks smiles strained.
"…Still going alone will only make mother nag, fine come on but don't make a fuss if you can't catch up." Aloofly, she warns the two.
"You sure you should be out?" Endeavour frowns.
"Hm?" Katsumi hums.
"You coughed blood." Endeavour frowns.
"Ah just some leftover blood from my fight with Overhaul." She dismisses.
"…So we heard…we also heard you lost your arm again." Endeavour asserts as Hawks flinches from the mention.
"Endeavour…!" Hawks frets.
"…Yeah." She confirms calmly callously even as a still silence falls between the trio.
"Do you… " Endeavour begins…
"Hm?" She eyes Endeavour a still silence of awkwardness hitting the air around them until…
"I think what Endeavour san means is if you ever want to talk…" Hawks translates.
"What's there to talk about?" Befuddled, Bombarda queries.
"…Huh?" Both boys chorus confused.
"I lost an arm, a arm I lost a long time ago." Aloofly, she shrugs.
"…But you reclaimed it." Endeavour points out.
"Perhaps for a brief moment I did but that was just it a brief moment, the past is in the past this is my hand that's just how it is." Simply, she shrugs still.
"…I see." Endeavour furrows his brow.
"Oh though thanks for the concern it's blatantly obvious how uncomfortable you were with asking." Bluntly, Bombarda deadpans as Hawks couldn't help the soft smile from her honesty.
…! Too blunt…! Internally, Endeavour couldn't help but flinch from her observation.
"Now come on I don't want to miss my train. Follow if you want." Aloofly, Katsumi goes ahead as the two follow behind her.
"Isn't this great? You two only had to stay in there for two days. Bonus, your left eye's still working, which is honestly surprising, and your ligaments weren't as damaged as you thought!" Happily, Hawks points out to the two as the two walk ahead of Hawks, simply staring ahead as Katsumi couldn't help but furrow her brow by the enigma's eyes on her behind her…a part of her tempted to just stop him grab him demand to know the answers as Miriko's words lingered in her mind but…she was too tired, for him, for any of this, she did not wish to spend the last of her lingering energy on something as trivial as that. She was a hero; healing was her priority not whatever Hawks had going on.
"I'm sorry. This was all my fault." Hawks sighs sadly staring at the back of the two, her hues widening when feeling her ruffled bag be taken alarmed, she turns only to see the ruby red feather fly over, take it her ruby reds meeting his glistening gold.
"Don't flatter yourself. Our injuries are our own responsibility." She scoffs dismissing him.
"Aw, man. Can I borrow that line the next time I get the crap beat outta me?" Mischievously, Hawks smirks.
"That may be sooner than you think with your attitude." Annoyed, she huffs taking her bag back brow furrowed at him, ignoring the strange stirring of emotions within her when seeing his hurt expression as she turns her back to him. He was a hero as she was, that was all it could be…all it should be. She couldn't afford to linger on such unnecessary thoughts.
"So cold Katsumi." Cheekily, he smiles at her as just then…
"Mama where's her arm?" A kid calls out pointing to Bombarda making the trio stop.
"Akio! I am SO sorry!" The mother apologises ashamed almost.
"I-It's fine. I lost it in an accident." She tells the child they brush by.
"Did it hurt?" The curious child quirks his head to the side.
"Uh…the shock helped." Uncomfortable, she answers.
"Sorry again!" The mother leaves with her child.
"Bombarda…" Endeavour furrows his brow at her, Hawks worriedly watching her recalling Rock Lock's words, Endeavour too from his softened look.
"I should be getting my fixed prosthetic in a few days still focus on what's important. That Nomu came straight for us. As if it knew where we were. The exact moment we were talking about it. An odd coincidence, wouldn't you say?" Sternly, she reminds the two turning her back to both men simply staring ahead.
"Indeed it is an odd coincidence…" Endeavour agrees oblivious to the faint frown flickering across Hawk's face, visor on.
"Meh. The three new top heroes walking around together in broad daylight? We just drew too much attention and they decided to take a swipe at us." Hawks reasons.
"Drop it. I made a scene while we were on the streets just so I could make this flimsy excuse. Internally, Hawks scowls at the pair.
"I was thinking, it's possible that the Nomu rumors themselves are being used as bait to catch heroes. I think we should contact the team searching for the League and get more info." Hawks reasons as they go up the stairs.
"You should be more careful." Katsuki reasons as she watches Endeavour grunts going up the sitars with his luggage.
"Hm?" Hawks hums.
"If you plan to keep investigating this, you're going to need someone to back you up. A hero who can stop a Nomu like that and I don't know if me and Endeavour can do that in the state we are in." Katsumi warns Hawks, her back still turned to him.
"Aw! And you care about me so much, you'll be my bodyguard! That's so nice!" Hawks lights up at her words.
"DUMBASS I'LL KILL YOU!" She snarls firing another blast to his face and yet he still smiles soot all over.
"Once my feathers grow back, I can start patrolling again. It'll probably take another day or so. Can't wait." Hawks smiles as Endeavour gets to his ticket gate.
"Hawks you said so yourself you're not a power type you'll need a power type to deal with a nomu in case you get in trouble don't you get that?" Tiredly, Katsumi scowls at him.
"Aw…are you concerned about me?" Mischievously, he winks.
"DIE!" Katsumi yells blasting the face of the still smiling Hawks.
"…Relax when it comes down to it I know my hero in shining armour will come to save me." Hawks smiles at the glaring glowering Katsumi.
"…The hell are you looking at me for!?" Fuming, Katsumi glares at the ass that is the happy Hawks.
"And what about you, huh? Takin' some R n' R, big guy?" Hawks turns to Endeavour.
"Possibly." Endeavour grunts.
"'Kay! Catch you later, then!" Hawks salutes watching him head off.
"…" Katsumi gets out her phone perking up at the text.
"Guess that just leaves u…" Hawks happily turns to Katsumi however…
"Katsu!" He perks up at the voice furrowing his brow to see Fat Gum.
"…What's he doing here?" Hawks smiles strained.
"Seems the shoot mom and dad are going to be longer than they thought they may not be coming home for a few days so Tai offered me his place to crash at." Casually, Katsumi scrolls through her phone.
"You can't stay alone?" Hawks smiles perplexing Katsumi.
"Nah promised mom and dad I'd stay with someone they trust." Bluntly, Katsumi admits unaware of the arrow impaled into the bird boy before her.
"Here let me take care of that." Tai takes her bag.
"Thanks…" She smiles at him.
"…" Silently, Hawks smiles.
"Hawks?" Katsumi takes note of his still silence.
"Guessing you'll be going with your folks?" Hawks smiles strained.
"For a bit urgh look could you at least take off your visor when you talk to me?" Katsumi sighs scowling.
"Huh?" Hawks blinks befuddled.
"…You're a terrible liar Keigo." Honestly, Katsumi admits to him taking him aback.
"…I don't know what you're talking about." Amused, Hawks smiles.
"…Don't lie to me. You know I hate liars." Katsumi scowls at Hawks.
"…" Hawks goes quiet from her words while she holds her head.
"…Look I don't know what you're hiding nor do I care but whatever is going on…please don't do anything rash." She sighs worriedly warning her friend.
"You sound almost concerned." Cheekily, Hawks smiles.
"You're my friend." Katsumi asserts astonishing Hawks into still silence.
"…Like I said my knight in bombing armour will come save me if trouble arises." Amused, Hawks smiles removing his visor as he says this.
"And if I don't make it in time? I nearly lost Katsuki I can't lose you too." Truthfully, she admits his hues widening when hearing her words.
"….Kat…" Hawks whispers weakly but she steps back.
"Please…just be careful and when you're ready I hope one day you can be truthful with me." Katsumi turns her back to him.
"…Katsumi…" Hawks begins but…
"Katsu!" Tai calls out.
"I should go…take care of yourself Keigo." Katsumi whispers turning her back to him, heading off with her father oblivious to the pained Hawks slowly lowering his visor, hiding his hues pinned upon the back of the fleeting figure that is Bombarda.
So what did you think of that chapter? I'm only dipping back in due to how long I've been gone but still what do you think of Hawk and Katsumi now? Of Katsumi and Midoriya and Katsuki now? As always would love to know your thoughts!
