A/N:

Naruto + Highschool DXD

I do not own anything from Naruto or Highschool DXD

This story is one of my first attempts at fanfiction writing and stems from ideas that have popped into my head. I am simply writing these stories for my own personal enjoyment, and I can certainly not claim to be a good writer, just a fan with a little bit of extra time and ideas on my hands. Please feel free to leave any feedback that you may have, positive or negative. Whether you end up liking or hating this story is up to you.

Naruto will be a mixture of canon/OC and will eventually be extremely powerful and OP. Pairing is still undecided.

Thank You.

Chapter 1: An Angel Visits an Orphanage

*Osaka - Japan*

A small rundown orphanage building sat in the city's lower class section. The matron, a kind woman of middle age, ran the orphanage by herself. Struggling to maintain it and care for the children.

She was a beautiful woman who many assumed would marry and have her own children. However, she never did. A traumatic event in her youth scarred her, leaving her barren and lacking any desire for romantic feelings and relationships.

However, her love for children still flourished and she devoted her life to helping the less fortunate children such as those that lived in the orphanage that she built and maintained.

It was difficult without much money to make ends meet. She couldn't provide much for the few children she was able to take in but she provided them with the love of a mother that they didn't have. She loved them all like they were her own. The children were hers to care for even when some didn't have the best attitudes and acted out.

Though one child that had lived in the orphanage almost all of his life was her little angel. The young boy had been dropped off at the orphanage door late in the night, left on the doorstep covered in a blanket with a name sewn into it.

The woman was surprised and outraged that someone would abandon what was undoubtedly a newborn infant on her doorstep during the middle of the night.

She was hesitant to take him in, the orphanage was already struggling but looking at the young baby she knew that she wanted to help him and raise him.

The baby boy was small, smaller than other newly born children she had seen, possibly an early birth. He had a round face with his cheeks puffed up in his sleep. Despite being a baby he had small tufts of golden blond hair on his head.

The blanket that he was wrapped in brought up a strange feeling for the matron as even just feeling it and looking at it she could tell it was very expensive. Wonderful fabrics of pure white with finely made decorations covering it in whirlpool shapes, stitched into the surface with brilliant golden threads, too golden, possibly real gold spun in wires. Stitched in fancy lettering was what she could only assume was his name, Naruto, an odd name that meant maelstrom, or fishcake, fitting the whirlpool designs sewn into his blanket.

But with such a finely crafted blanket the boy's family must have been wealthy so why leave him here? Perhaps an illegitimate son of some wealthy man. Or a child born out of a forbidden relationship between some high-class individuals. She didn't know but looking at his adorably cute sleeping face she knew right there that she would help him.

It had been around three and a half years since that day and despite her initial worries about taking in another child, she was glad that he was brought to her. He was such a good boy, a cute little angel of a child, so different from some of the more angsty and rebellious children that she housed.

He had grown so adorable, his body stayed relatively small giving him a cute look, with spiky golden blond hair that shone brightly in the sun, stunningly deep sky blue eyes that you could lose yourself into, and an attitude and energy that was so full of life and love.

She knew she shouldn't have favorites but she couldn't help it. If she ever were to have her own child she would have wanted them to be like her little Naruto. He was simply overflowing with love and kindness where she wouldn't be surprised if he was actually a real-life angel, and she would do everything she could to make sure that he kept that love and happiness as long as he could.

From the first time he could walk and talk, he was constantly following her around trying to be by her. Trying to help her in everything that she did. When he was only around two and a half she had found him in the kitchen trying to twaddle around and reach the cabinets and fridge to get food and drinks out to take to the other children for lunch, it was very cute to see the youngest boy in the orphanage trying to help and take care of the older children.

He even called her "momma" with his adorable little face lighting up into a big smile and love when spending time with her.

Currently, it was nighttime with the matron and the children sleeping. Naruto himself was curled up in his bed smiling at the nice dream he was having.

Unnoticed by all in the building and Naruto himself he wasn't alone in his small room. A stunningly ethereal beauty of a woman stood in the room looking down at the young boy sleeping in his bed.

The woman had a body even the straightest of women would drool over, accentuated by her curly blonde hair and blue eyes. The odd thing about the woman however was the twelve feathered wings of brilliant and magnificent white sprouting out of her back and the halo of pure light that floated just above her head.

"So you young one are the one who has finally received the fourteenth Longinus sacred gear." The woman said while placing her hand by the boy's head.

In a brief flash of light, a crown appeared on the boy's head. The crown was of an odd appearance with a normal crown band resting upon his head made out of shining gold. Above the band extending upwards were a set of spikes, almost looking like thorns wrapped around the crown appearing to be made out of a darker gold with streaks of blood red running throughout its circumference.

The woman looked at the never before seen and undoubtedly legendary unknown fourteenth Longinus sacred gear. Even she and her eldest siblings knew very little about this Longinus.

Their father had created it in secret and had told them that it may never actually surface inside a wielder, but now it had, after so many years of its creation. Her father had created it out of the original crown of thorns worn by Jesus, imbuing it with power to create the fourteenth Longinus sacred gear.

Very few knew the existence of the fourteenth Longinus and no one other than her father knew the abilities that it would grant its wielder.

"You will undoubtedly grow up to do great things young one. I only hope that your life will not be filled with strife and loss as so many others who have wielded Longinus gears have." The woman continued to watch the young boy and observed the crown that was adorning his head before feeling a shifting in her brother's power.

She moved her hand away from the young boy's head as she made to leave knowing that her brother was probably worried about where she was, as she had not told him where she was going and had been gone for a while now.

With a glow of light, she teleported out of the room to return to her home in Heaven and reassure her brother she was fine, as well as let him know the fourteenth Longinus had surfaced.

As she teleported away in her light teleportation the crown atop the boy's head remained and the boy shifted around uncomfortably for a few moments before getting comfortable once again.

If the woman would have been paying attention to the feeling of the energy around the boy or if the boy had been a lighter sleeper they would have noticed the crown glowing for a moment before a pulse of light power flew into the boy breaking off of the fading light from the seraphs teleportation.

They would have also noticed the small pair of child-sized pure white feathered wings that burst from the young boy's back and a blinking golden halo appearing floating above his head. By the time the woman was returned to her home the boy's new white wings had retracted back into his body, the golden ring of light vanished, and the Crown of Thorns had disappeared back into its resting state inside the boy.

*Heaven*

A blond man with green eyes, a golden halo of light over his head, and twelve golden feathered wings sprouting from his back was pacing around the Sixth Heaven as he grew worried about his sister Gabriel who had left without warning a few hours ago.

He turned to the side as a flash of light signaled the arrival of his sister.

"Gabriel. Where have you been? Are you alright? You hardly ever leave heaven anymore, where did you go?" Michael asked in a slight panic as the fear of something happening to Gabriel, someone he cared greatly about got to him somewhat.

"I am sorry Michael. I should have told you where I was going. Everything is fine. In fact, it's good! Please don't stress so much. I know you are struggling to run the Holy System but please relax." Gabriel said as she placed a hand on her brother's shoulder.

"Thank you. But what was it that brought you away from Heaven, Gabriel?" Michael asked while letting his shoulders slump tiredly.

Gabriel knew that her brother was tired and under constant stress running the Holy System left behind after their father's death and didn't want to stress him more with the news she had but knew it was important.

"The fourteenth Longinus has appeared." Gabriel said with a serious tone of voice.

Michael looked at his sister with wide eyes and a shocked expression. "The fourteenth Longinus sacred gear. Made by our father from the Crown of Thorns. The only sacred gear and Longinus gear that has never been wielded before has appeared?" Michael asked in shock, wondering how he didn't feel it and why now the fourteenth gear had appeared.

"Yes. It has appeared in such a cute little three-and-a-half-year-old boy. He is adorable and from what I could gather from observing him and feeling his spirit, he is such a good and loving boy. His name is Naruto, an orphan living in a small orphanage in Japan. He has an adorable round face and is pretty small for his age making him extra cute." Gabriel couldn't help but giggle lightly remembering the adorable little boy's chubby cheeks.

"He has beautiful blue eyes and golden blond hair and is so kind and full of love. If I didn't know he was a human I would have believed he was a little tiny angel." Gabriel said while smiling and giggling a little bit.

"You were always the better sensor between us. But being able to sense the Crown of Thorns on a three-and-a-half-year-old child… that isn't good. The other factions could sense it too and he would be too weak to defend himself even if he knew about his sacred gear. The other factions would do almost anything to get a Longinus sacred gear user and with it being unknown and its powers a mystery it could potentially be disastrous towards us." Michael said while panicking slightly and trying to think of a way to prevent the other factions from getting the child, especially since they had no idea what kind of powers the Crown of Thorns Longinus sacred gear possessed, only that they would most likely be very strong.

"Don't worry Michael. I couldn't actually sense it yet until I was right next to him. I only originally went to the orphanage because of the love and positive feelings that I could feel coming from the boy. He doesn't know about the Crown and would have no idea how to use it himself yet. It only showed itself when he was asleep and I was using my holy light powers right next to him. And I already thought about others potentially finding him in the future and put a small anti-detection blessing on him to help hide his sacred gear from detection. You should be able to feel him in father's system now that the gear is active, we can watch over him that way." Gabriel placed her hand on her brother's shoulder to reassure him and ease the stress that he was undoubtedly under.

"Ah yes, that was a wise choice sister. Shrouding the Crown of Thorns from detection will help protect him from those that would use him. We should send a representative of the church there as soon as possible and bring him into the church training program immediately." Running his hand down his face to try to alleviate some of the stress he was feeling from his daily duties and the revelation that their father's final creation had finally surfaced, Michael began to pace at a fast rate of speed. "We do not have too much influence in Japan. But I do believe the Shidou family in Kuoh could take him in and bring him to the church, then he can become one of our exorcists…."

Cutting off her brother, Gabriel placed her hand on his shoulder to halt his worried pacing. "I don't think we should do that Michael, at least not yet." Seeing that she had her brother's attention, Gabriel continued. "As I said before, the original reason that I went there in the first place was because of the intense feelings of pure love and happiness that I could feel radiating from the orphanage. Oh, Michael, I agree with you that it would be safest for him to be protected by the church, but the love that the little guy has for life, the other children, the orphanage, and especially the matron, it's too pure!"

Standing slightly straighter, the most beautiful woman in heaven put a surprisingly serious look on her face and stared directly at her brother. "He loves the matron with the purest love that I have felt in so many years. I could feel that he knows she isn't his real mother but he loves her with more purity and heart than I have felt from any other child when it came to their family and loved ones. If we took him away from her he would never forgive us. He would resent us for taking him away from the place and person that he loves more than anything. Perhaps when he is older we could consider bringing him to the church. But for now, I feel, no, I know that it would be best to let him live with his chosen family. My blessing of concealment will protect him and I will watch over him when I can. He will be safe."

With a sigh, Michael reached out and patted his sister's head, similar in a way to how their father used to. "Very well Gabriel. I trust you to know what is best, I will leave him to you ok."

With a happy smile, Gabriel wrapped the golden-winged angel in a tight hug. "Please brother, I know that you are tired and under so much stress but don't overwork yourself. I am always here to help you!"

Breaking the hug, the female Seraph gave her brother one last smile before taking off to oversee her duties.

With his sister gone Michael allowed his shoulders to slump and a tired breath to leave his lips as the true weight of the exhaustion and stress of running their father's Holy System and leading Heaven pushed down upon him. "Why now would your final work surface father? Is this a sign? I wish you were here, father, I am no replacement for you." Closing his eyes Michael held back the sorrow that he felt over the loss of his creator, his father. "I wonder. What will you do child wreathed in thorns? Guide the world into light or plunge it into darkness. For the Crown of Thorn's to appear for the first time…."
