"I'm not from this Earth."

It took five words for Dennis to do a spit take, spraying the water he was drinking all over the conference table. That was the last thing he was expecting to come out of the German's mouth. Was it a bit racist that was expecting her to say that she used to be a bigot but had changed? Perhaps, but it was far more realistic than that one sentence. Missy and the others stared at him awkwardly. Why weren't they as surprised as he was?!

"I don't know how, but I somehow ended up here." Weiss continued, ignoring Dennis' outburst. The others nodded along as Dennis stared at all of them with wide eyes. Why were they taking this so well?! Knowing about other words like Aleph was one thing, but for someone to make it over was unheard of! And judging by how quiet the Big Beard was, Weiss wasn't lying.

"The world I come from isn't like your Earth." Weiss said, her eyes appearing like they were drifting off. "Humanity was being pushed to the brink of extinction by monsters called Grimm, with only huntsmen and huntresses like myself being the last line of defense."

That sounded like the plot of some Aleph anime, and Dennis didn't understand half of what Weiss said. Huntsmen? Huntresses?

Weiss bowed at the waist politely. "I apologize for deceiving you, but I didn't know how you all would react." She sounded more robotic than Beardmaster. Dennis glanced toward his fellow Wards, who all sat silently. Only Rory and Carlos didn't look confused or shocked.

""A-Are you telling me I owe Void twenty dollars!?" Dennis exclaimed. He had been arguing with the idiot on one of his burner accounts. He got in trouble the last time he debated with someone with his Clockblocker one. Ignoring the glare from Rory and Beardo with a shrug, Dennis turned his attention back to the alien. Everyone was too calm for his taste.

"Any questions?" Weiss asked, ignoring him once again. Oh the pain, oh the horror, and here he thought they were friends.

She was going to regret asking that.

"Hey Chris." Dennis said softly, focusing on the match on the television, killing time until it was his shift to go on patrol, one of the many banes of being on Winter Break.

"Yeah Dennis?" Chris started smashing the buttons on his controller.

"I think we just won the award for weirdest Ward team." Dennis sighed after his character was headshotted. Too bad they couldn't tell anyone. He would love to rub that in Fletchette's face.

"What about the teams with Case-53s?" Chris leaned back, his shoulders relaxing as the game went to the main menu.

"Dude, we literally have an alien on our team who looks like an anime character come to life."

"Touche." They restarted their game. Dennis chose a different loadout of course, he wasn't going to fall for Chris' tricks again. "Have you heard any singing at night?"

Dennis' character hid behind a rock. "Singing?"

"Yeah, like a whisper singing in the middle of the night." Chris shivered in his seat. "I think HQ is haunted or something."

Yeah, Chris was an idiot.

"Fascinating." Colin spoke without thinking, his hands swiping slowly on his tinkertech tablet. Even with her busy schedule preparing for her Ward debut, Weiss had managed to create a presentation for her class about Remnant. It wasn't finished yet according to the new Ward, but Colin had managed to convince her to allow him to scan it beforehand.

"I think you would fit into the Kingdom of Atlas well." Dragon said, following along through the cameras in his helmet. "They're the most technologically advanced of the Four Kingdoms."

"I'd like to learn more about this Dust, once Miss Schnee has grown more comfortable with sharing." Even if he couldn't make use of it without aura, studying the properties around the crystals and powders could change the way the world worked. It could power cities, and Colin's experiments. "And their weapons, they seem like tinkertech, but they're easier to produce and maintainable by anyone with training."

None of this could be known by the general public, if people found out that someone from another world ended up on Earth, a world full of monsters, Colin was sure there would be rioting and panic worldwide. Then there were the gangs, if they somehow managed to gain aura, it would only escalate the fighting. The PRT had too many holes, even he knew that, and someone would eventually break and share the power, if they figured out how to do so.

"Miss Schnee will either bring about a new age, or be the end of the world as we know it." Colin said, his mind greedily taking in the information of a strange world. Dust, mechashift weapons, Grimm, the Kingdoms, all of it. There was so much to learn, and it made his brain start to churn.

How could he fit a gun into his halberd? Hm, Colin's attention slowly drifted towards his workbench. It wouldn't be exactly the same as Remant's weapons, but he could attempt to replicate their work.

"Dragon, I know what we're going to do today."

"So how was your first patrol?" Aegis asked. They were finally back at Ward HQ, after a rather bumpy ride in the PRT van.

"It was ok." Weiss shrugged. She would have prefered not having people hounding her every few steps, but it was a quiet day aside from that. Quiet was good, it meant no one was causing trouble, but she knew that wouldn't last long.

Humanity was a danger to itself as much as the Grimm and the Endbringers were. They even found a way to discriminate despite the lack of faunus to target.

"We also speak at schools around the city every once in a while." Carlos pulled his helmet off once they made it past the alarm and the protected doors. "It's pretty fun."

"It's soooo boring you mean." Dennis shouted from the couch. Weiss was pretty sure that his ass was imprinted on the cushion from the amount of times she's walked in here to see him gaming with Chris. "I'm never going back to Winslow, I almost stepped on a used needle when I went to use the restroom."

"It sounds…wonderful." Weiss forced a smile.

She was lucky she was such a good liar.

A/N

I never expected Schnee's Bay to get this much support when I started writing it again in August after its quiet debut in January.

You guys blew me out of the water.

Thank you for reading!
