I do not own Harry Potter or anything to do with the Addams Family. I may have a good imagination but not good enough to make them up.

Hello guys, Badger here. Back again, with a new chapter, for a fan favourite story I've written. Now, this chapter is shorter then the previous ones, probably around the same length as the first chapter. I hope you don't mind the shorter chapter, but all will be explained why, at the end.

Speaking of the end, I hope you enjoy and I will see you there.

Chapter 5

Honour Has Nothing To Do With It

Walden Macnair grew more and more terrified, as he entered the living area of his Manor, which the Dark Lord had made his new throne room. In his hands, he held a letter from Lucius Malfoy, the cause for his terror. Macnair was surprised when he received a letter from the Malfoy Patriarch, as Lucius never sent letters to anyone else, unless he needed something from them. And this letter proved that.

In his letter, Lucius went on a massive, irate, rant about how Potter had stolen a good portion of the Malfoy fortune, as well as Malfoy Manor, after the boy claimed the Black inheritance. After his rant, Lucius then went on to explain how he planned on challenging Potter to an Honour Duel to claim back Manor, as well as claim the Black and Potter fortune, and Lucius wanted Macnair to be the referee of the duel, to overlook things. This made Macnair concerned as he, as well as every other Death Eater knew that Potter was off limits. The Dark Lord himself had stated that he will be the one to kill the boy. However, it seemed that Lucius wanted vengeance on Potter. Because of this, Macnair headed straight to the Dark Lord to inform him.

Entering the Dark Lords throne room, his presence immediatley alerted the attention of Voldemort, who had been pacing back and forth, in deep thought. Seeing Macnair enter the room, made him stop and turned his full attention to the man.

"Macnair, this may be your Manor but I thought you would be smart enough to knock before barging in" Voldemort said, his eyes narrowing "Now tell me, what is so important that you had to disturb me?"

"It…it's Lucius, my Lord" Macnair said, holding out the letter "I…I'm afraid he's going to do something…against your orders"

Voldemort snatched the letter from Macnairs hand and read through the contents. As he did so, Macnair closed his eyes, awaiting the inevitable outburst of rage, as well as a Cruciatus Curse or two. However, after several minutes of nothing but silence, Macnair grew confused and opened his eyes, to see the Dark Lord pacing as he looked at the letter, with what looked like a smirk spreading on his face.

"I knew Lucius was a foolish man" Voldemort said "But I didn't think he would be this foolish"

"My Lord, aren't you mad?" Macnair asked, terrified, almost wishing for Voldemort to fly into a rage

"Of course I am mad, Lucius is going against what I instructed you all to do, 'To stay away from Potter'" Voldemort replied, his voice calm and smooth, it unnerved Macnair with how calm he was being "However, Lucius has failed me, time and time again…he's outlived his usefulness…which is why I want you to referee this Honour Duel"

"My Lord?" Macnairs eyes widened in shock

"I've felt Potters power myself, back in the graveyard, when our wands connected, as well as when he threw me out of his mind in the Ministry" Voldemort said "I've learnt to not underestimate the brat…the power I felt was great for one so young…if Lucius thinks he can kill the boy, when I, myself, have failed to do so then he is a bigger fool then I first thought…so yes, referee this Honour Duel…on the off chance that Lucius does win, his victory will be in vain, as I will personally make sure that he joins Potter immediatley after for breaking my rules…either way, Lucius will die"

"Of course my Lord" Macnair bowed, before leaving the room so he could send Lucius a floo call, letting the man know he will referee the duel

As Macnair left the room, Voldemort continued pacing, his thoughts on Potter. He had grew more and more concerned. Up until recently, Voldemort was able to look into Potters mind, as if it was an open book. Even after the Ministry he was still able to enter the boys mind, though it proved to be a much difficult task. It was like the boy had learnt how to defend his mind after he first threw Voldemort out in the Ministry. However, something happened. Voldemort wasn't sure what had happened, but he felt the mental link between himself and Potter severe. Something which injured him greatly and left him feeling weak and he still had yet to fully recover. Voldemort didn't know how, but he was now unable to see into the boys mind. And now, according to Lucius' letter to Macnair, the boy had claimed both his Black and Potter inheritance. The boy must've gained some kind of power to be able to break the link between them.

It seems the Honour Duel was the only way for that to be answered. If Harry killed Lucius, Voldemort wouldn't mourn the man. The man had failed him one too many times already. If Potter kills him, then Voldemort was certain the mans son Draco would immediatley demand to join the Death Eaters ranks out of vengeance.

Hopefully the boy would prove to be a better follower to the cause, then his father.

Meanwhile, inside the newly named Addams Villa, Harry was alone in a large empty room, facing a training dummy, with multiple more dummies laying in pieces across the room. Harry was happy to find a training room in the Manor, giving him a place to continue his magical studies. Over the last few hours, he had been using multiple different spells, including spells from his newly bought books, on the dummies in the room. And when those dummies were all destroyed, he would use the repairing charm on them before starting all over again, using new spells he hadn't used yet. The books he bought from Knockturn Alley contained a variety of spells: Blasting Curses, Cutting Curses, Severing Charms, as well as multiple hexes and curses the Wizarding World would consider dark. Whilst Harry had read through the book of Dark Magic, he still hadn't tested them yet.

Turning his attention back to the training dummy which stood alone in the room, opposite him, Harry flicked his wand in a wide arc in the dummies direction and yelled:

"Formare Glacies"

A jet of clear blue light escaped from Harry's wand and flew towards the dummy and, upon impact, ice immediatley began to form and spread across the dummy. As the ice continued to grow, Harry immediatley fired a Blasting Curse which immediately caused the dummy to shatter into multiple pieces, which scattered across the room, causing Harry to cover himself with a shielding charm, to prevent himself from being pierced by shards of wood, or ice.

Dropping the shield, after knowing he was now safe from harm, Harry picked up one of his spell books. The book had explained how the spell 'Formare Glacies' would cause ice to form on the target upon impact. Ice which would cause great irritation. The book also explained how using a blasting hex on the ice would cause the target to shatter, dealing great damage to the target itself, but Harry didn't expect the training dummy to fully implode like it did. Harry theorised it must've been because of his newly found strength. Ever since Grandmama removed whatever dark magic was in his scar, he had felt an increase in his magical strength. Grandmama had said the dark magic was restricting his magical ability and power and it seemed she was telling the truth. Thinking about it, made him look down at his new wand, he received from Ollivander's. Harry could practically feel his power as he held the wand in his hand. It felt more powerful than his previous wand, which he snapped in half almost immediately after leaving Ollivander's. That wand was the brother wand to Voldemort's. Harry no longer wanted to have any kind of connection to the maniac so was more then happy to snap it in two.

Suddenly, Harry started looking around the room, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. Someone was in the room with him. Though he doubted whoever it was meant him harm, he had been more then paranoid ever since he ran from the Dursleys. Keeping a tight grip on his wand, he looked around the room, where he saw nothing but broken training dummies, and dark shadows.

"I know someone's there!" He said "Come out from where you are hiding!"

Harry watched as one of the shadows in the room began to move, where someone came into view. Harry let out a sigh of relief and relaxed, when he saw it was only Morticia, who was smiling at him, with an impressed look on her face.

"I must say Harry, dear, I'm surprised, as well as impressed that you sensed my presence" She said "The Addams Family are practically invisible when we hide in the shadows…how did you do that?"

"I don't know" Harry replied "Must've been from something that Grandmama did"

Whilst it wasn't a the whole truth, it wasn't a complete lie either. As well as his magic feeling stronger, ever since the leech, that was the piece of dark magic, was removed from his scar Harry had found that he developed some kind of sixth sense. Harry remembered reading a old and torn Spider-Man comic Dudley once owned and when Harry read it, he read a certain page about Spider-Man and his 'spidey sense'. This seemed to be something similar. Harry wasn't quite sure what his sixth sense, but he figured that it could prove useful, considering all the life or death situations he finds himself in.

"I see" Morticia said, before she tilted her head "Tell me dear, how are you doing, quite a lot has happened in such a short amount of time, I imagine you're a little…overwhelmed"

"A little bit, I didn't have any proper plans when I left my relatives, so everything that has happened after you invited me for brunch has been quite overwhelming, but also exciting…for the first time I've felt free" Harry explained "Thank you again, by the way…for inviting me for brunch, especially when you didn't have to do that…I don't know where I would be, or what I would be doing if you didn't"

"Nonsense dear" Morticia said, placing a gentle hand against Harry's cheek, giving him an equally gentle smile "I'm sure Grandmama told you that I sensed the leech residing in your scar…however that wasn't the full truth…when I first saw you, I saw the pain in your eyes…the eyes of someone who needed help…that, combined with the darkness that needed to be removed, I knew that I should help…a child so young shouldn't be alone without anyone to help them"

Harry smiled slightly, as a small blush creeped across his cheeks. He still wasn't used to any kind of physical affection. Surprisingly, despite her skin feeling as cold as ice, her touch felt warm against his cheek. It was that moment when Gomez entered, with letters in his hand, as well as an owl on his shoulder. An owl Harry knew well.

"Hedwig!" Harry said, cheerfully

Hedwig let out a happy hoot as she flew from Gomez's shoulder and onto Harry's, where she started affectionately rubbing her head against his. Morticia couldn't help but smile at the happy expression on Harry's face as he stroked Hedwig's feathers, as the owl continued rubbing her head against his. It was clear that Harry shared a special bond with the animal. It reminded her of the bond between Wednesday and Thing.

"I must say Harry, that owl of yours is a smart bird" Gomez said "When she arrived, she explained that she knew where to find you, though she wouldn't say how"

"You can understand owls?" Harry asked, equally confused and surprised

"We can understand a lot more then owls" Gomez shrugged, before holding up the letters "But that's not what I came to you about…that owl of yours wasn't the only one who arrived…two other owls arrived and dropped these letters off, both addressed to you"

Harry took the letters and looked at the handwriting on both of them. One of them looked very formally written, in handwriting he didn't recognise, but the handwriting on the second letter he recognised almost immediately and so opened that one first.

Harry,

We hope that this letter, somehow, finds you. Everyone here has gone crazy having learnt that you've run away to only Merlin himself knows where. Mother has even gone berserk, demanding that she goes out herself to find you. We can't blame you for running away either, especially everything that has happened, but we would've hoped you would have, at least, told us first before you chose to up and disappear on us all.

We really do hope you are alright. If this letter does find you, please send us a response. If you need help, we'll be happy to provide us. After everything you've done for us, we owe you one, arguably more. We hope to hear from you soon.

Your older brothers, in all but blood

Fred and George

"Your friends seem really worried about you" Morticia commented, having read the letter over Harry's shoulder

"Of course they're worried" Gomez said "Which reminds me Harry…do you know what to do regarding your friends?"

"I really don't know" Harry replied "I want to get away from everything but I don't know if I can trust all of them to not go to Dumbledore so he can bring me back…but I do want to talk to them…if it's alright with you, I would like to invite my friends round and talk to them…and give them a chance to stay in my life, as long as they don't say anything to Dumbledore, or the rest of the Order"

"You don't have to ask for permission Harry" Gomez said "You may have gifted this wonderful Manor to us, but this is your place, it was bought with money that was rightfully yours after all…now what is in the other letter?"

Harry almost forgot about the second letter and, curiously, opened the black envelope and read the contents. Seeing the first line, he immediatley had a suspicion as to who had written it.

POTTER,

You have caused massive disrespect to the Malfoy Family by taking what is rightfully ours. By Wizarding Law, I challenge you to an Honour Duel to the death. If you refuse, your magic is forfeit. Enclosed in the envelope is a portkey, which will activate tomorrow at midnight to take you to the location of the duel.

Good luck Potter, you're going to need it. I will take back what is rightfully mine as well as everything you own.

Lucius Malfoy

Harry sighed. He had expected retaliation, but not this soon. That is, if this wasn't a trap set by Voldemort himself, though he couldn't be sure now that he couldn't see into the maniacs mind. He was going to have to risk going though, if it was genuine then he would lose his magic if he didn't. Harry was also going to have to do some research on an Honour Duel, so he knows what he's getting himself into. Speaking to his friends was going to have to wait once more. His main priority, right now, was to practice more magic until it was time for the Honour Duel.

And, Harry knew Lucius Malfoy well enough to know, the Malfoy Patriarch was going to do everything in his power to kill him. Unfortunately for Lucius, Harry didn't plan on dying any time soon.

And done. What did you guys think?

Again, I'm sorry for the shorter chapter. This was merely to set up the events of the next chapter, where we will see the Harry vs Lucius fight. Place your bets now, on who you think will win, despite how obvious it seems, (unless I have a last minute twist planned)

Anyway, I hoped you liked the minor moment between Harry and Morticia. If you remember I plan for Morticia to become a caring and protective mother figure for Harry, as time goes on, and I hope this moment helped that idea. Speaking of ideas, I had one idea I would like to get your opinion on:

As you all know, I plan for Harry to go to nevermore with Wednesday. But what if someone else went with them? I'm talking about the Weasley Twins. As HP fans would know, Fred and George practically dropped out of Hogwarts in Order of the Phoenix, in an explosive way. I want them to be frequent characters in this story and, the idea of them joining Harry in Nevermore came to mind, as I felt like it would help expand on the brotherly relationship Harry has with the Twins. Is this something you would like to see, or should they stay where they are? Do let me know your opinions down below.

Anyway, that is all for now, I hope you enjoyed and I will see you next time.
